Cannot Get Macro To Update Specific Sheets Within Single Workbook
Jan 5, 2014
I am trying to modify the macro that I have put together so that it executes only specific worksheets within a single workbook. In this example, I would like the macro to update worksheets A, B, and C but I have more sheets in my actual file. I am only able to get the macro to work on the active sheet. Attached is my workbook.
VB:
Sub HideColumns()
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Dim myRange As Range
For Each myRange In Range("B5:M5")
I have 3 sheets: 1: master entry sheet that fills data in 5 different excel docs. Then there is another doc that aggregates data from the 5 and presents totals on the data. I am trying to get the end result without having to have 7 different excel files open, but when I enter into the master entry sheet, the data doesn't seem to be "pushed" up to the 5 different docs until each one is opened up. Obviously, the master aggregator is not updated since the 5 don't have the new data. When the files are all opened at the same time, the data flows perfectly, I'm just trying to find a way to avoid having to open the 5 docs in the middle of the process.
I am trying to combine sheets from various workbooks into a single file named "Combine". The goal is to have the sheets in Combine indicating their origin.
For example, with: "File_1" having 2 sheets, "Sheet1" and "Sheet2" "File_2" having 1 sheet, "Sheet1" the goal is to have a file "Combine-forum" with the sheets named: "Sheet1(File_1)", "Sheet2(File_1)", "Sheet1(File_2)"
I have grabbed pieces of code from various sources and read on the forums, but the result is different from what I want; I don't succeed to add the file name to the sheet name. Instead of the file name, the second part of the sheet name appears to be the order in which the workbook have been opened.
To be clearer, what I get is: "Sheet1(1)", "Sheet2(1)", "Sheet1(2)"
Attachments: To_be_combined.zip 3 compressed files to be combined. I suggest to copy them in C:TEMP and to copy this path in the InputBox (see below). Combine-forum.xlsm Best working file that I have been able to create
I have 30 and above sheets in a work book and like that I am having 5 such books. The sheets are named as 201, 202, 203 ....etc as per the contents in that particular sheets. (201, 202 .....are the P.O nos.). all the work sheets are of having similar format of datas.
Now what I need is if I want to look the details of one single sheet (say 324) I have go all the sheets one by one and it is hard to find out.
If any body give me a solution so that if I type a particular no. (forms part of the name of the sheet) that sheet should appear for me.
Call all data in new workbook or in single sheet from different sheets (except 1 or 2 sheet) of workbook. i already use some macro to hide some data from sheets so i want only filtered data.
Is it possible to have a single userform put data into two separate sheets within the same workbook.
I have a userform set up for entering client data into a quote register,with no problems ( sheet 1)
A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9
What I would like is for the data to also go to sheet 2, where I have a form set up to print off for our technicians to take on site.
The problem will be that I would like the data A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9 not to store on this sheet after it is printed, so the next set on entries , can be printed etc.etc
I have 2 sheets which validates data using vlookup.
Sheet1
Table 1ABResult1121232313
=VLOOKUP(A7,B:B,1,FALSE) is the formula in result1 column. Sheet 2
Table 2DEResult21020102040203010#N/A
=VLOOKUP(F7,G:G,1,FALSE) is the formula in result2 column.
The basic idea of these vlookup is to check whether the data present in A or D column is present in B or E. If the data is there then it will be retrieved in "Result1" or "Result2" columns. If not then the result would return the value "#N/A".
What im trying to do is to copy the resultant data(from Result1, Result2) other than "#N/A" from individual sheets to a final consolidated sheet.
I have a workbook with many sheets labelled as mmm-yyyy. The constant columns in all the sheets are C,E,R,T, and U.
Is it possible to have a macro do the following: Add a sheet called Summary at the end of the workbook. From the last sheet of mmm-yyyy, copy columns C, E, and R to the Summary sheet. Copy columns T and U from all the other mmm-yyyy sheets to the Summary sheet. All the cells need to be centered.
my macro comes up with an error on the Consolidate line that says 'Cannot add duplicate source reference'. I have a workbook with a variable number of tabs and I want to consolidate-sum (not copy and paste) the data from the various sheets onto a summary sheet within the same workbook. I'm at the point where it all works fine until it hits Consolidate.
Option Explicit Sub ConsolidateExport() ' ' ConsolidateExport Macro
I have a work book with many sheets and staff continue to mess this up so I would like to know how I can have a specific sheet called Instructions open when this workbook is opened preferably no macro's is this possible
I have x number of sheets in a workbook, and I am looking to copy sheets a, b and c into a new workbook that I will create.
The a, b and c are in no order, or consecutive (although they could be). I want to be able to count the number of sheets in the workbook, and traverse through that to find sheets that I need, and select them to copy over to a new workbook.
I have data in 2 different workbooks, and I need to transfer all data in 'Jx_ex1' to sheet1 in the 'template' workbook, and all data in 'Gr_ex1' to sheet2 in 'template' workbook. All data should be transferred to the same cell numbers, from A1 to Y5000. I actually have loads of workbooks to transfer to the template but if I have an example with the two then im sure I can work out how to modify it. All files will be in the same folder.
Every month we collect data from a number of employees and average it out in a new excel workbook ready for analysis. Each employee sends in their monthly data, structured identically, with only the numbers in the data tables different.At the moment, we just copy and paste every single data return into the separate worksheets of a single workbook, and on the front page of the workbook we create a simple formula which adds the equivalent cell in each sheet together to get a total. Its not hard to do, but its very lengthy as a process.What I've been researching, is the possibility of a macro that can automatically send the outputs of separate workbooks into one central workbook, so that we don't need to go through the copy and pasting of each return every month.
E.g, Say I have 10 workbooks, named Book1, Book2, Book3 etc, which each have a number ranging from 1 - 10 in cell A2. Could A macro be designed to bring all those values together into cell A2 of an 11th workbook, e.g one entitled book11? I'm aware that said Macro may need to exist in each separate workbook in order for the process to be carried out.
I need to save a single sheet to a file (in a workbook of many sheets). I can't use the copy command and then save the new workbook because it truncates the longer info in some cells.
I have a spreadsheet which has all the names of trips from a warehouse, the day that they operate (1,2,3 etc) and the job line allocated to each trip. It looks something like that:
A B C DAYTRIPCUST
I would like to create a macro that will be creating 7 new workbooks and then in those workbooks as many sheets as the trips. In these sheets, the customers should be displayed.
How do I write it? I could not find how to have a "dynamic choice" in the macro. I.e. not to have the criteria as "1", "trips1" but to choose from the range of inputs that are available.
I'm trying to find a way to use a macro to extract data from a specific column from Sheet1 based on the columns header/title and copied into Sheet2 into the respective column with matching header/title.
For instance, in Sheet1:
Chicken Cow Donkey Pig
[Code]....
So the above table would be the result i'm aiming for.
NOTE, its not different workbooks. I'm looking for sheet to sheet macro.
I've attached a file as well if someone wants to have a go at it. There are no codes in it.
This is the code I use to call a macro when the macro Im calling is in the same workbook.
[Code].....
However, I would like to call this same macro when using another workbook. I copied the macro "Clearformating" and pasted into a personal macro workbook module. However when I add this code to the sheet tab it will not run the macro.
I am a macro newbie and I think this is beyond me.
I've been trying all morning with no success to make a macro that will copy data from all columns of one workbook containing specified header text to a single column in a different workbook.
So for example, I've got a workbook called coupon barcodes that has multiple tabs for each person redeeming coupons on sheets 2-88 (sheet one can be skipped) and some of the columns are labeled "voucher 1" in cell A4 or B4 or C4 etc. with a list of all the coupon barcodes that customer redeemed below that. I want all of the data from all of the columns in this workbook that have the header "voucher 1" to be copied and pasted into one column (order doesn't matter) also labeled "voucher 1" in another workbook I have open called vouchering database.
There must be a way to do this that is easier than searching the internet all afternoon again
Looking to code a loop to go to sheets whose names begin with "day" and a number and clear a specific range. How would i code this without affecting the other sheets in the book?
My workbook has several worksheets so do you need the name of those to be excluded? Or how many sheets i require which are located to the right of the summary tab?
Detail - 5 sheets to the left of summary tab are to be ingored, 7 to the right of the summary are to be pulled (let's say they're named Red, Green, Blue). I only want the colour named tab data pulled and pasted into the summary
Code is below :
Sub karryan() Dim i As Long For i = 1 To 3 Sheets(i).UsedRange.offset(1).Copy Sheets("Summary").Range("A" & Rows.count).End(3)(2) Next i End Sub
There's one sheet that has a list of customers (this is updated very frequently). These customers are either ‘New’ or ‘Existing (as listed in a corresponding column) - would it be possible to have a macro that, when run, will place a copy of existing customers into a second worksheet (“view list – new”), and a copy of new customers into a third worksheet (“view list – existing”), with the main worksheet still listing both existing and new customers.
As the main sheet that lists all customers is updated very frequently (with customers being added and removed throughout the day), would it be possible to clear all contents of the other two sheets that each list of 'existing' and 'new' customers will be copied into, before the two lists are copied into each of the two sheets (just to ensure there isn’t any data in there from the previous time each list was copied in).
I’ve given this a go via the ‘record macro’ function - some users of this WB use excel 2000, and others use excel 2007, but it only seems to work on excel 2007 (which is what it was recorded on)…
So right now the macro is run in every single worksheet in the workbook. Unfortunately, it appears the TRIM function erases formulas in cells. I want this macro to apply only to certain worksheets. Say the worksheets i want the macro to run on are named A1-A100.
I have a macro (see below) that simply formats a sheet for printing. I am currently clicking individually on each sheet in the workbook, and running the macro. Is there a way to have it automatically loop through all the sheets in the workbook?
My current macro is:
Sub Set_Print() ' ' Set_Print Macro ' Application.ScreenUpdating = False
[Code] .......
I have about 10sheets / workbook, and 80 workbooks to do, all saved in the same folder.
I have a workbook with the following sheets i do not want to hide called "Detailed Template", "INTERFACES", "STATUS".
I then have a number of worksheets which have their names as cell addresses i.e. "E4", "E5", "D4", "F4", "G7" and so on.
I would like to hide all worksheets (except the 3 mentioned at the top [which are sheets 1-3]) and any which contain say the value of '4'. This value is defined by a cell in the "INTERFACES" worksheet say 'A1' for example.
I want the macro to be able to automatically do this for which ever value is in 'A1'. So if it were to change to '7' it would hide every sheet that doesn't contain '7' in the name.
