Userform Macro To Use Textbox Input To Generate Blank Rows?
Mar 28, 2014
I have a userform with 16 Textboxes Named "Text1" through "Text16". What I am trying to do is apply code that if there is content in the textbox it generates a new row after row15 and inputs the text in cellA of that row. Ex. "Text1" = JOE "Text2" = TONY......Hit Commandbutton1 on userform. It inserts Row16 puts "JOE" in A16.....then sequentially it inserts Row17 puts "TONY" in A17.
I have a userform with 2 textboxes one where the user inputs a "Name" and the other a "Number". When they submit my intent is to have the "name" input (lets use Textbox1 just for this sake) create a header row with the following formatting (Grey Colorfill) and the "Name" itself will be placed in the cell in column A for that row with the following formatting (White lettering, Bold). The second input (Textbox2 for this example) will generate a certain number of rows below this header row based upon the users input (ex. User inputs 6 in generates 6 rows below the header). Then it will generate a item number in column A for each of these rows sequentially. (ex. first row after header 1.001 second row 1.002 third row 1.003 and so on).
I have a UserForm from which you are required to select all options. Then the user is supposed to click "Add To List" and the selected items must appear in the TextBox in a Row format.
1) In order to accomplish this i create a Sheet in Excel from which i will store all the Added Items to the list. From there i will send the results to the TextBox.
2) The user must be able to select a Result from a row in the TextBox so he can delete it.
3) The user cannot select the first row as it is the header.
I have to this code in the "Add To List" button SUB.
I have a userfrom with a text box which is used to receive a telephone number from the user. The 'Event' code that checks the formatting of the telephone number is "tbCustTel_Exit". If my user enters a format other than what is acceptable for a tel number, they get an error message telling them to re-enter.
My problem is they still end up EXITING that text box they made a mistake in? How can I override them exiting the text box if they make a mistake - and keep them in the text box so they can try and re-enter the tel number again?
I have an userform say frmNew. In the form, I have three textboxes: txtCost, txtRate, txtSale.
The following two boxes are filled by a user: txtCost contain the Cost of an item (numbers) txtRate contain the % Rate (3 character), i.e. the txtRate can contain only A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I and J. The corresponding value is 1,2,....9,0 respsctively. If a user enters any numbners or characters other than A,B,..J, a msgbox should popup with a error message.
The value for txtSale is generated by the Macro i.e. txtSale = (txtCost + (txtCost * txtRate)).
I have a userform which inputs data based upon a chosen item from a combobox. Combobox3 pulls numerical items from Rows17 and below in columnA of active worksheet. The first problem I am having is that the combobox itself is cutting numerical numbers short. Items go out to the thousandths (ex. 1.001) but in cases where there is a "0" at the end of the decimal it abbreviates it (ex.1.01) is there anyway to fix this? The second issue is I would like to populate "Textbox4" with the columnC content of the item chosen. (Ex. User choses Item 1.001 (found in row118) then Textbox4 would = the value of C18) Below is the current code utilized for this userform.
I've been using excel sheets to create reports for clients based on various sized samples of bars (I'm a test engineer). The sheets are essentially the same format though information will vary (such as bar type, diameter, etc.) I've been working on automating these sheets so that I don't need so many template-like tabs (currently I have a workbook for each client setup with 5-20 different sheets just in case the client sends in those bars! Half of the sheets stay blank and it can be confusing/cluttered).
Here's what I want to do: Have one page or popup window where I can input the information (job number, bar size, bar type, etc.) press the magic button and have it spit out a new sheet with that info added into the template. Is this doable?? I've never used macros before but I'm assuming I'll need to, which is fine, how that works.
I am tracking business hours of various business locations. I would like to be able to enter the businesses operating hours on the "overview sheet" and, based on those hours, have a table generated on another sheet that "autofills" based on the date entered on the "overview sheet". For example:
I would enter the operating hours of the business on the "overview sheet" and it would look something like this:
Day Open Close
[Code]....
I want a table for each day created. I would then manually enter the data for the "Ranking" column. The issue is that I have numerous location I want to do this for and all with varying hours of operation. It is very tedious to manually create the tables.
I have a modal userform that I load to warn the user that the system is busy processing a scheduled job. The form is nothing more than a screen that comes up and says "One moment please..." with the form caption set to "Processing...". When I use the form in this way, if I don't use an application.wait command the form just shows the header without the text that it shows when I look at in the in the VBA IDE. (In other words it is just blank.)
I would like to have my macro code search column A (supplier numbers) and split the rows into groups of rows of 5 or less and then insert 3 blank rows between each group of rows. The split needs to start on a new supplier number and cannot split a supplier number into two different groups. Here is a sample:
I have been using this macro to separate lots of rows with a certain amount of blank rows.
Example:
Code: Sub test() Dim j As Long, r As Range j = InputBox("type the number of rows to be insered") Set r = Range("A2")
[Code] .......
I trying to change it so that, instead of inserting how ever many blank rows, it just copys the row above.
Example (Row A to C)
I have been messing around with macro recorder and i could select each row and paste it into the blank rows, but from researching on the internet selecting and pasting data seems to be a waste of resources (ram?) and i will be running this on a couple hundred rows (lots of data). Also, i would like to keep the functionality so that i can still choose how many times it copys/inserts each individual row from a input box.
I eventually want the data to end up like it is shown in the table but i am takin it one step at time because i want to understand what the code is doing.
I need a userform textbox event that fires after I tab or click out of the textbox. Going by the list of options:Beforedragover, BeforeDroporPaste, Change, DblClick, DropButtonClick, Error, Keydown, Keypress, keyup, mousedown, mousemove, mouseup.
I can't figure out which one will do what I want. The change event happens instantaneously which doesn't work. I need to fire off the event when my focus leaves the textbox.
Company 1 Contact 1 Address 1 City, ST, ZIP 1 Phone 1 Fax 1
Company 2 Contact 2 Address 2 City, ST, ZIP 2 Phone 2 Fax 2
Company 3 Contact 3 Address 3 City, ST, ZIP 3 Phone 3 Fax 3
I want this:
Company 1 Address 1 City, ST, ZIP 1 Phone 1 Fax 1 Company 2 Address 2 City, ST, ZIP 2 Phone 2 Fax 2 Company 3 Address 3 City, ST, ZIP 3 Phone 3 Fax 3
all the way down.
I can't figure out how to record the macro to tell it to then skip the blank line, collect the next set of data, and put it in the next row. I can do it for two, but then it just replaces the first two with the next two and I lose data.
Code: Private Sub cmdSearchButton_Click() Dim txtbox As String 'stores lookup value Dim x As Variant 'value for wwid txt box Dim ForeName As String Dim SurName As String Dim wwid As Variant Dim iPosition As Integer
[Code] .......
Here is my code, it does a vlookup and if the persons name is not found it will split the text entered into forename and surname but when i try and add
It actually displays &ForeName & in the text box of the next from rather than what ForeName is..
eg. John Smith -> search button -> user not found msg -> user wants to add user -> string is split into forename and surname -> forename = John , surname = Smith -> display this in the second form.
What code should i be using to do this, i thought that &ForeName & would work.
I tried looking for everywhere, but i still cant seem to find the solution.. I have an Active X textbox on a worksheet, and I need it's value to show up on a textbox on my userform, that shows up through a command button on that worksheet. I'm fairly new to vba.
I am attempting to create a macro to generate emails based on data in a sheet. The goal is to run the Macro, and have it generate emails to send to contractors letting them know what they are going to be paid. For instance:
Name in Column J Email in Column L Memo in Column N Balance in Column T Due Date in Column P Week Ending Date in Column H
Now what I would like to happen, is to tie a macro into a button that will create the email as follows:
To Field: Email address from Column L Subject: "Company Payment Remittance Payment Date *Date from Column P*" Body: Hello *Name from Column J*, For *WE Date in Column H* you will be paid *Balance from Column T* for the time worked of *Memo in Column N*
Now the tricky part is that I want the email to contain all line items for each email address. So instead of sending one email per line, have the macro automatically put all of the information that needs to be sent to one email address into the message. I don't know if that is possible, but it sure would make my life easier if it was.
I have attached a sample workbook of the data that will be used
I am looking for a Macro that will search a column for blank cells, and when one is found will add text to the same row in another column. For example: The below is a spreadsheet. I am trying to find something that will search through column "C" in this case and add text (of my choice) to Column "A" if the cell is Blank. So Since cell C1 is Blank then Type "ERROR" is cell A1.
A B C D E 1 X X X X 2 X X X X 3 X X X X X 4 X X X X 5 X X X X
The code below is supposed to find blank cells in column E on sheet3, copy some data from adjacent cells, create a string from that data and paste on sheet4 in Column J. I get duplicate data and or most blank cells? What the heck did I write.
I am trying to make a more useful excel extracted report – what I have to start with is muck like the attached sample file. With at the bottom is what I would like to be auto done.
There is a column of names – with most names repeating so the first thing needed is to create a new summary list – can be in the same worksheet or in a new worksheet. The new list with be just a list of each name but only display each name once rather that the multiple of times as source list.
The second requirement is than once have a list of each name that appears then in columns next to each a tally /count of each non blank cell under each respective column heading - now it has to be a count of non blank cells as the content of each cell will chance – now need to understand it is not a count of numerals as such but a count of non blank cells so it is not 1 + 3 + 5 = 9 but should be 1 +3 + 5 = 3 (3 non blanks).
A idea of what I want is at bottom of sample worksheet attached
I am trying to copy data from a Textbox in a Userform to a Textbox in another Userform. Is it possible?
In Userform1 I have a button from which I can open Userform2 keeping the Userform1 opened. When closing Userform2 I want to copy the data from TextBox2 in Userform2 to TextBox1 in Userform1.
I was trying to guess the code... but it is not working...:
I need to write a macro that will successfully delete blank rows. I also need to write a macro that will successfully delete duplicates. The duplicates are numbers and they do constantly change.
I am able create a macro using the find function to find the next blank row, but I would like to have it select a range of rows down that I can then delete. Each time I run the macro the next blank row may be different thant the last, so it can't be a set number of row numbers each time. I could also possibly use the print area function if it would be easier.
Here is what I have so far, what is in red is where I need it to vary from next active blank row down to R2001C14, and then delete all the active blank rows ...
