Userforms: User Macro Permanently Changes Userform Values

There is a macro i wrote that assigns buttons to different tasks, and it changes the name of each button to whatever task the user utilizes it for. I would like for the changes to be permanent, and i can do it if i can just keep the information in the userform. So, the most logical solution is to permanently change the names of the buttons in the userform, but this has to be accomplished by the users choice, which means i don't do it through the vbe. How do you change a button's caption permanently through macro?

I have a column of values that I want to convert.

The are all generally along the same lines as the below example:

Values is 500000 I want to change it to 5000.00

does anyone have any idea how I can put in a decimal point to two digits before the end of the value.

Permanently Highlight Values Chosen From Drop Down

I am attempting to run a macro that will make conditional formatting I have applied permanent, and then remove the conditional formatting from the cell. My application for this is a master fantasy football cheatsheet, with multiple columns of the same player names ranked in different orders. When a player is drafted I type their name in cell A1, and conditional formatting is setup on so that name (presumably once in each column) will be highlighted/bolded/etc. For example, if I typed "LaDainian Tomlinson" in cell A1, I would be able to find his name in each list/column (from the conditional formatting that will make it stand out), and then run the macro to make this formatting permanent (show he has been drafted), and remove the conditional formatting code, leaving the effects. I found a macro online to do this at the following link, but am having some issues:

When I run the macro on any cells not containing conditional formatting, I get the message: "The formatting based on the conditions in the range (whatever is highlighted) has been made standard for those cells and the conditional formatting has been removed."

This messsage is precisely what I am trying to do, however, when I run the macro on a cell with conditional formatting (when it would actually be beneficial), I get "Run-time error '13' Type Mismatch"

When I go to debug, the error appears to be on the line

Dynamic Userforms :: Code That Changes The Height Of A Userform

I am looking for some code that dynamically (during processing) changes the height of a userform. What I am trying to do is this: I have ten worksheets but only five are being used. I am looking to have a userform with a checkbox for each of the active sheets labeled. I don't want to have to display a form that is basically ten checkboxes with five enabled and five disabled. I want to show only the five active sheets checkboxes with a userform only large enough for the five. If six are active then a userform displaying six checkboxes and a userform large enough for only the six to be displayed.

Macro To Compare Values In User Specified Columns And Return To Different Workbook

I am trying to create a macro that will compare several un-formatted workbooks and copy just what I want to a workbook of my one.

I start by having 2 different workbooks opened ("Main" and "Change") side by side like this: 1.jpg

Then i run the macro in my "Main" workbook and it should appear an Userform like it showed in the image below: 2.jpg

This is so that i can manually fill the user form with the correct columns by looking at the excel file, for example:
Ref=E3;City=G3; Data=I3.

Pressing Ok, it fill the "Main" workbook with the matching information so it and closes the "Change" workbook.

At the moment my code is in this stage:

VB:
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
myfile = "C:Userssst1brgDesktopRelatorios" & TextBox1.Value
Application.Workbooks.Open Filename:=myfile

I'm looking to create a macro which displays a user entry box where the user can input a starting number and then input an ending number. The macro will then cycle through that range inputting each value into a specific cell and perform a print function. It will continue doing this until the last number in the range.

E.g.
Min. Number inputted = 1
Max. Number inputted = 80
Macro will not cycle through that range:
Input 1 into Sheet1 Range A1
Print Page
Input 2 into Sheet1 Range A1
Print Page
.....Continue doing this until it reaches 80

I have a simple spreadsheet of an inventory. Each row on this spreadsheet represents the data related to an item. I would like for a user to be able to INPUT a serial number via a userform. Then, I would like for the program to OUTPUT some information about that particular item (a few cells that should be on the same row as the serial number).

Macro To Paste Values Instead Of Formula When User Uses Ctrl-C And Ctrl-V (no Command Button)

I was thinking of how the Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) macro can be used to paste values instead of formula when the user uses Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V. Instead of assigning a macro to a command button for user to activate.

Suppose I have a worksheet where the range ("D7:D56") is where I would want the user to paste his values in it.
I have to factor in the possibility that these values have formulas attached to them, and that the user is not tech-savvy enough to know about the "paste special --> values" functionality of excel, and chooses to use the Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V method instead.

What then appears are ####### which might alarm the user.

Neither would we want the user to press a button (which we can assign the xlpastevalues macro as an alternative) as that adds an extra step for the user. There is also a chance the user might not use the button, or overlooked it.

Is it possible to use the Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) macro, or sth similar, to paste values instead of formula when user uses Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V?

Permanently Save Data

I developed a timesheet interface using Excel. I am creating an setup-like phase for when the time sheet is first opened which determines file path names and what not. I basically I have 2 questions which basically tie into each other:

1. How can I ensure that the code only runs the first time the workbook is opened?

2. Is there anyway to store the data (for example the pathname to a certain file) without storing the actual data on a spreadsheet for it to be pulled from? I guess I could use a seperate file but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

Permanently Linking Cells Between Different Files?

I would like to link two cells which are in different workbooks / Files. Now this is something I already know how to do, however there is complication and I am not sure if the following is possible. I would like to link these cells so that they stay linked even if the file name of the source cell changes. I am not sure if thats possible or how to go about it if it is. This sort of thing is possible (although a different concept) in the Solid Modeling program Solidworks. Often times assemblies are created using a number of files. When the filename of one subcomponent is changed, or the file is relocated the final assembly will no longer work. So a method has been created to automatically update the link if the file is moved or renamed.

I would like to be able to do this in excel. ( I should note that I was only using Solidworks as a reference, it really has nothing to do with what I want out of excel, the data will not have anything to do with solidworks or its files, it will be simple numbers letters and formulas that I wish to link between workbooks)

Can A Worksheet_Change Range Permanently Adjusts Itself

Working on a simple worksheet_change issue for someone, the thought came, "after this code runs" it would be good if the TargetRange changed to no longer include the rows it had run on already. This way, if you later accidentally deleted/edited a cell that already had data, it wouldn't cause the macro to run again and do the paste job again?

Portable Userform – For End User

I have been working on a custom copy routine. I was not able to make it work exactly how I wanted it to but with help from here (Custom Copy From One Workbook To Another) I do have something that will work. The final solution uses a UserForm that I have exported to a *.frm file.

Is there any way I can make the process of importing the UserForm and assigning a macro to run it, easy for the end user?

I have sent a data sheet template to my client in which they paste their data, based on this data sheet analysis will be done automatically in next sheet "Summary".

Whenever they paste product code, vlookup is not working since the product code contains few are numeric (shows: "Number Stored as Text"). I advised my client to go with "Text to Column" and "Delimited" to change it as numeric. But my client feels this method is tedious one. Is there any alternate way to make that column as numeric permanently?

1st sheet "sample",
first, the marco look for column c "F No."
if it search the content start with "F" and follow by 8 digit numberic,

2nd sheet "pop up",
then pop up userform to ask user to key in the textbox there. if it search for as many as "F" with 8 digit numberic, it will show at the userform and ask user to key in the data in the textbox there..

3rd sheet "key in",
user can key in any data they want

4th sheet "output",
after the user click the "OK" button
all the data put in the textbox there can automatic go to the column "a"
can refer by the sheet output..

Say a user inputs information into the user form, when they click enter, it enters all the data on the next available line in a workbook.

Is is possible for the user to click a cell on a previously entered row, and have the userform populate with the existing information?

example.
say the user has to fill out 3 separate areas. 1, 2, 3. However the user only has data for 1 and 2. They go ahead and enter the infromation for 1 and 2 and click submit to transfer to sheet. Now later he gets information for area 3, can the row the information that he previously entered, lets say column 1, row 1, and it reopens the userform with the information for 1 and 2 prefilled from what he entered previously?

I have a few questions here.

1) Can a userform procedure be place in the midst a larger macro, so that it can get input from the user before running the rest of the macro? ie If the user leave the input field blank, the macro will exit will a msgbox.

2) I have a range(A1:A3) that i want my userform to display. This range is dynamic. The user will require to input the corresponding country next to it. how do i code the this? I will need to use a listboxes and textboxes right?

I have a userform which allows user to selected a date formt he calendar. In my code I name the value selected myDate. I want to have a line of code at the begginning of my code that checks if myDate = a date already listed in column H on a sheet named "all dor's". if it does match then a msgbox appear saying "date already entered" and the code return to the opened userform.
