I have been working on a custom copy routine. I was not able to make it work exactly how I wanted it to but with help from here (Custom Copy From One Workbook To Another) I do have something that will work. The final solution uses a UserForm that I have exported to a *.frm file.
Is there any way I can make the process of importing the UserForm and assigning a macro to run it, easy for the end user?
I need to simulate UserControl Design-time Drag at Runtime-time. Pratically, the user must be able to drag a Usercontrol in a wished position like programmer in VBE IDE.

I'm using a UserForm to inform the user that the program is still running. Unfortunately, when I do: UserForm1.Show the program hangs there until I hit the Ok button. How can I make the program run as the box is shown.

Is is possible for the user to click a cell on a previously entered row, and have the userform populate with the existing information?
example.
say the user has to fill out 3 separate areas. 1, 2, 3. However the user only has data for 1 and 2. They go ahead and enter the infromation for 1 and 2 and click submit to transfer to sheet. Now later he gets information for area 3, can the row the information that he previously entered, lets say column 1, row 1, and it reopens the userform with the information for 1 and 2 prefilled from what he entered previously?
I have a few questions here.
1) Can a userform procedure be place in the midst a larger macro, so that it can get input from the user before running the rest of the macro? ie If the user leave the input field blank, the macro will exit will a msgbox.
2) I have a range(A1:A3) that i want my userform to display. This range is dynamic. The user will require to input the corresponding country next to it. how do i code the this? I will need to use a listboxes and textboxes right?
for example: userform shows city on the left, user will need to input the country on the right.
A1 - California (user input on the right)
A2 - Shanghai (user input on the right)
A3 - Mumbai (user input on the right)
I have a userform which allows user to selected a date formt he calendar. In my code I name the value selected myDate. I want to have a line of code at the begginning of my code that checks if myDate = a date already listed in column H on a sheet named "all dor's". if it does match then a msgbox appear saying "date already entered" and the code return to the opened userform.

I would like for the changes to be permanent, and i can do it if i can just keep the information in the userform. So, the most logical solution is to permanently change the names of the buttons in the userform, but this has to be accomplished by the users choice, which means i don't do it through the vbe. The customer name is on the sheet that I named "Customer" which also contains the street address/city/state/zip. What I would like is, once a customer is selected, I want a textbox that will be populated with the correct address taken from the sheet named "customer".
On the second page I'd like to use it for Product Info. I want to have a ComboBox, Text Box, a Command Buttons. The ComboBox is to select the "Model#" from the sheet named Product Info" and the TextBox is for the user to write their comments. The 'Event' code that checks the formatting of the telephone number is "tbCustTel_Exit". If my user enters a format other than what is acceptable for a tel number, they get an error message telling them to re-enter.
My problem is they still end up EXITING that text box they made a mistake in? How can I override them exiting the text box if they make a mistake - and keep them in the text box so they can try and re-enter the tel number again?
I want to force my user to input a date in a userform. I have a normal Textbox and assumed i'd be able to set the properties to mean that imput had to be an integer and the format had to be "00/00/00" but I can't see how to do this.

I'm working on a spreadhseet which has several macros that can take up to 5 minutes to run. When the macro(s) complete, I pop up a userform to provide instructions and collect some additional data from the user.
The "problem" is that when the user moves to another application to do other work, the user form remains hidden behind the active app. I've added some text to the status bar to let the users know the processing is done, but they would like something more obvious - so, is there any way I can force focus back to Excel?
I have a workbook that I'm using to tracking staffing patterns within a mental health agency. When the workbook opens the user is asked to pick a date range and an office location. I've placed code into the userform that pre-fills the "start date" with today's date and the "end date" 7 days from today's date. I would like the user to be able to enter a unique date range should they wish but I have yet to figure out the coding to accomplish my goal.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a user form that has a combo box "City" two text boxes one called "Flight" and the other "Date". What I'm trying to do is to prevent the user from saving the data input from the user form if any of those three fields is left blank. The code that I have so far checks all of the required fields, if any are left blank a message notifys which field(s) is left blank and return the focus back to that field. But the rest of code also fires.
What I really need is either to stop the code if any fields are blank and return the focus back to the blank field, the user completes the field(s) and clicks the save again, or better yet, pause the code until all the required fields are completed and then complete the save. (There is actually another 200+ lines of code in this sub, but I deleted it to keep the post a little shorter.)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a workbook that is used to track overtime hours worked through the year. I've received some help from users on this forum, and others, to create the necessary macros and formulas to allow a supervisor to make use of the form; however, the workbook is also used to track those that wish to volunteer to work overtime each weekend. The sheet has a list of names for the employees on each shift, then a column to allow a "Y" to be placed under the date - designating them as a volunteer for any overtime available. I've found this spreadsheet (attached - from this site) that will allow individual users to access the workbook and have unique passwords for each. I don't completely understand how it works, but I feel it may be a start to getting what I want.
Essentially, once the user selects their name and inputs their password, I'd like the workbook to be opened and then allow them to only manipulate the row associated with their name. That row will change from week to week, so specific numbers will not be able to be used, but their name will be the same as the name used in the logon.
I feel like I'm asking for a lot here, so just some initial guidance on whether this type of thing is possible would be an acceptable answer.

Usually if somebody wants to open a file that is opened by another user, office applications give informations that the file is open and about the name who opened that file.
Is it possible to get this information with VBA code, too?

This is weird - if you delete a sheet that contained a control then
a. showing a modeless userform resluts in a userofrm that goes invisible at subroutine End
b. public variables lose their value
These things do not happen if the sheet did not contain a control. Attached is an example file - put the inputfile.xls in your default file location (or add a path in the code) then open the ProblemDemo.xls and run the main macro to see it fal - isthis another Excelbug I've found?
I have one userform that loads combobox values upon userform Initialize. Though through a second userform changes can be made to anotherworkbook this workbook is saves any changes. when i close the second userform i need to rerun the 1st userform Initialize event to update the combobox's incase changes have been made.
