I m looking to fill down a column where I am assigning a number that maps to a certain week of the year. In essence after every 7th value the number should increment by 1.

I need to 'fill down' a series of formulas in several columns - but the number of rows I need to fill down will vary dependent on my raw data.
See attached file.
Worksheet 1 - contains the raw data which is copied and pasted in from an external source. In this example, there are 20 records.
Worksheet 2 - brings in the raw data from worksheet 1 and does some calculations. The formulas are in the first 30 rows - in case the number of records grow. But what happens if the number of records is, say, 40?
I have a much bigger workbook in reality - so having too many formulas will increase the file size.

I have two obscure Files and I want certain information from each file.
I started by importing the data on seperate worksheets.
and I wanted to make a table basically summerizing the info on a third worksheet
On a third Worksheet i wanted to reference from those files in a table as i mentioned. So i started referencing the cells that contain the data for the first line and second line and i wanted to fill the series so I wouldn't have to type the info into Excel (like =C8)
uhm to summerize the following::
the two files are a players file (which has there specific team and player name) and a stats file (which has there corresponding stats). So i have the following
Year Team League GP G A Pts PIM +/-
2011-12 Swift Current Broncos WHL 82 5 22 27 128 10
the cell references are
for the stats worksheet
C8, D8, E8, J9, I9 (GP,G,A,PIM,+/-) Pts is just an add
and the next line would be 25 plus the cell references (so like C33)
i would like to fill it all the way down the page for about 1000 players
but it didn't work for me - the next line was C12, C27 etc...
I have the following code:
Sub Macro5()
ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("Chart 243").Activate
ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("Chart 243").Activate
ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(1).Delete
ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(2).Delete
End Sub
However, if there is no SereisCollection(1) actually present in the chart I get an error. How can I work around this? I will need an IF statement I assume, just not sure what it will look like.
On a sheet named "Matrix" I have rows of data in columns A, B, and C. I have the following code in a ComboBox that will show names from column B of the Matrix sheet.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a txt file imported into excel that's slightly strange.
But once into excel, I need to edit some numbers.
The values in cell B 23 is 1.
So is the value in B 28, so is the value in B 33, B38, B 43 and so forth ad infinitum... Or so it feels.
I need to edit all those values to 0.
I have an XY chart that I would like to have the user select a single data point in the chart and be able to add a comment in a table corresponding to that point. For example: if the x-values are in A1:A10, y-values are in B1:B10, the user can select a point, say the 4th point, have some code run that will enter a text string into cell C4. I can manage the code to add the text to the appropriate location, but I'm having trouble with 2 things.
First, how can I ensure that the user has selected a single point (as opposed to the entire series or the chart background)?
And second, how can I determine which point is selected? I think I need to determine the point's item number in the SeriesCollection, then offset that number of rows in my data table. But I can't find a way to retrieve that number.
Is there VBA color to change ".Fill.ForeColor.SchemeColor =" into NO FILL? In other words, keeping the existing Foreground color prior to the macro being activated.
I'm in a chart.
I am working with monsterous excel sheets (named Data) and need to a column that is governed by the ZIP. I have a sheet named Source in my excel folder with all the matching information next to the excel sheet. The column my zip codes in Data starts on J6 to J290 and the zip codes in Source are from A2 to A2671. The information I am trying to pull from Source to Data are names and branches located in Source from B2:E2671.
What function will auto fill the columns with the correct information. If it can only be done by putting a function into each column, that is not a problem
I have the following code attached to a userform. It works perfectly (for what I need) although I know it may not be perfectly written. However it does seem to take for ever to execute considering it's just filling some cells on different worksheets. Have I missed something out or got it tied up doing something that takes a long time. If it's just a fact of life that it takes this time then I can live with it.

I have a spreadsheet (see attached) in which there are many series and i want to be able to delete most of the series except the first 4.
(The 0%, 5% 10% air voids and the 95% comp line)
iv got this code, which is attacted to a command button, which works fine to delete all the series but makes the graph a blank white box. id prefer it so it delete just the series not the graph "picture?" ...
I have about 50 lincharts that I wont to update with VBA but they have different number of series. Some have two series, some three and others four. Is there a way to count how many series a chart has? Otherwise could I get tips on how to approach this problem.

I got some code from an old discussion thread

I have a worksheet (with if statements) that I throw numbers from a report into and it uses those if statements to calculate the number of items and money earned. The problem is that sometimes employees use different key words for their items so the formulas dont pick them up and this skews their results for the month. Also it's hard to see where someone messed so I'm trying to write a code that reads each row for a given selection and calculates the sum and if that sum is 0 then we can look for where the employee made an error. This is what I have:
Dim RngToSum As Range
Set RngToSum = Selection.Rows
For Each Row In RngToSum
If Application.WorksheetFunction.Sum(RngToSum) = "0" Then
MsgBox "Lets play find the error"
Selection.Rows.Interior.ColorIndex = 3 'red
Else Application.WorksheetFunction.Sum(RngToSum) 0 Then
MsgBox "Congrats there's no errors"
End If
End Sub
The problem with the code is that I want it to read every line and if there's no errors then have it say "congrats no errors" after ALL rows have been checked because right now it pulls a msgbox per row and I don't want to go through hundreds of no error msgboxes. However, if even just one line has an error then have a msgbox come up.
Also there's something weird where this code wont pick up an error for a row if i highlight two rows (one row without an error and one with) but if i highlight just rows of zeros then it'll pick it up.
Why this code doesn´t enter in the if condition when i don't select any item from the listbox
semana = ListBox1.Value
If semana = Null Then
MsgBox ("Need to choose one item!!!")
Else
emd = Range("A48").Value
End If
This one has really got me stumped:
Sub NCR()
Application.DisplayAlerts = False
Workbooks.Open ("J:AcctMgt3NWFMScriptingScriptsDailyReportsNCRNCRvdn.xls")
Sheets("NCRvdn").Columns("B:B").EntireColumn.AutoFit
dRow = Sheets("NCRvdn"). Range("B1").Text
dMonthDay = Format(dRow, "mmdd")
dDay = Format(dRow, "dd")
dPrevDay = dDay - 1
dMonthName = Format(dRow, "mmmm")
dMonthNum = Format(dRow, "mm")
dYear = Format(dRow, "yy")
dPrevDay2 = dMonthNum & dPrevDay.............
This opens the first file and dRow="7/13/2006". The next file that it opens contains links to information from the previous days. Without VBA you just drag the previous day down, select the row of data and do a replace all, say from 0712 to 0713. As you can see I even tried to make it use the specific data I wanted versus the variables; still doesn't work. What really gets me is that if I go back to the sheet after this code runs, I go to EditReplace, replace all "0712" to "0713" and it does it. It has to be the code then right??
I run a large simulation experiment. I have a loop plotting data in excel of a user defined area. Because of the limit of 255 series I have allowed a maximum of 250 simulations (they all need to be plotted). But the length of each simulation is free. I know there is a limit of 32.000 data points in a graph and I have this as a condition too.
If I set the data range to 100 columns and 3000 rows the graph is produced when I plot by columns. (code below)
But if I set the data range to 250 columns and 1000 rows I get the above mentioned error message. Even though I only have 250 series.
After the data is plotted it is the code below that gets the error:

I just recently installed Excel 2007 and I would like to know if it's possible to change all data points of a chart at the same time. In Excel 2003, I would normally hold down shift while clicking on each of the data points to make a global change. However, it appears I cannot do that in 2007.
I would like to display each data point's series name. When I go to Layout on the Excel Ribbon, and click on "Data Labels", and click on "More Data Label Options", the actual Y-axis values are shown for each data point. However, I do not want this - I actually only want the Series Name, but when I uncheck "Value" and check "Series Name" instead (under "Label Contains"), it only changes it for one of the series. Is there a better way, instead of going through each and every single series to make this change?
I have a workbook with various pages that are all hidden except the main page, on the main page it allows users to select items froms drop down boxes that returns a figure to cell B7 on the selection page.
What i would like to do is press a command button and the hidden worksheet that relates to that figure in cell B7 opens which allows the users to print it then after printing or closing the workbook is hidden again.
I have a list of 10 shops as a list box named lstitems i need the user to click one of the 10 shops and when they click the selected shop it tells the name they selected. then i require a Quit button that transfers the selected Shop to cell D3 & then closes the userform, but if they do not pick a shop it will ask them to pick one before it closes. so they must select or it will not close.
