View 4 RepliesI have a input box that prompts a user to enter a date of a new month - it has to be the 1st of a new month. I have validation that it is a date that has been entered but then i want to validate the date entered is a month ahead of a date in a cell range on a sheet.
It is a monthly reset so it has to roll on from the previous month.
Here is what i have currently but it isn't working.
Code:
' Get user to input the first day of the new month to populate all dates with
dNewMonth = InputBox(Prompt:="Enter first Day of the new Month. Must be the 1st of the Month e.g. 01/10/2012", _
Title:="Enter Date")
' Validates the entered date is a valid date
If (IsDate(dNewMonth) = False) Then

I have a userform with 5 textboxes. Each textbox looks for certain kinds of user entry...my code has trouble in re-locating the cursor to the SAME textbox after rejecting the user entry. And BTW, ideally the text box would be highlited in this instance.
Private Sub TextBox2_Exit(ByVal Cancel As MSForms.ReturnBoolean)
Dim okstop As Boolean
Dim yesno_continue As Boolean
Dim mytext As String
okstop = False
Do
TextBox2.SetFocus
TextBox2.SelStart = 0
mytext = TextBox2.Value
If Not IsDate(mytext) And mytext <> "" Then
TextBox2.Value = ""
yesno_continue = MsgBox("Please enter a date...try again?", vbYesNo)
TextBox2.SetFocus
Else
okstop = True
End If
Loop Until (yesno_continue = vbNo) Or (okstop = True)
End Sub
In my form I have the user enter in the current date in Textbox1. My program is designed only to work in 2009 so I want to check to make sure the 1) the date is in 2009 and 2) textbox1 is not empty. If it is empty then it displays a message box with "Not a Valid Date. Please Enter Date as MM/DD/YYYY. Date has to be in 2009" - this doesn't work. Second, if the date is outside of 2009 it is to display a meeage box saying "Date has to be in 2009".
Here is my current code which is not working.
Private Sub TextBox1_Exit(ByVal Cancel As MSForms.ReturnBoolean)
If TextBox1 = vbNullString Then Exit Sub
If IsDate(TextBox1) Then
Else
MsgBox "Not a Valid Date. Please Enter Date as MM/DD/YYYY. Date has to be in 2009" ...
I've done lots of looking on the forum, and the helpfiles, but just cant seem to format my text box properly! Its a form where the user inputs to the text box. I want to control thatway where they enter numbers e.g 05052008 and it gets converted to 05/05/2008 or 05-05-2008. I've tried a range of things, but am really stumped!

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to validate a texbox at entry time to ensure the value entered is a muliple of 6.50.
i.e. ONLY 6.50 or 13 or 18.5 etc is entered. I have used the MOD command at spreadsheet level to accomplish this but have no idea if it's possible at userform / VBA level.
I have a VBA user form that asks for user's input. The form has 3 textbox. I would like to check for the entry & make sure that it's numeric & not null. If it's not numeric or null, I'd like to display a warning message & highlight the textbox & ask for entry again.
Here's what I have but it's not really working. The warning message will come up but the next textbox is highlighted:
Private Sub TextBox1_Exit(ByVal Cancel As MSForms.ReturnBoolean)
If Not IsNumeric(Me.TextBox1.Value) Then
MsgBox "Please Enter Only Numeric Values"
TextBox1.SetFocus
End If
End Sub
Private Sub TextBox2_Exit(ByVal Cancel As MSForms.ReturnBoolean)
If Not IsNumeric(Me.TextBox2.Value) Then
MsgBox "Please Enter Only Numeric Values"
TextBox2.SetFocus
End If

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've got a userform for pricing items and am having an issue when changing margin. I want to validate the user enters in .22 or 22%. The code places the decimal value in a worksheet just fine and runs back end calculations. I want to make sure no one fat-fingers .12b by accident so I came up with the following code. It seems to run fine, but if I tab over a couple of textbox (there are 4 Margin textboxes) it trips the coding for that textbox even if there was no change to the value.
Code:
Private Sub txtPDLaborMargin_AfterUpdate()
If IsNumeric(txtPDLaborMargin.Text) Then
Range("LaborMargin") = txtPDLaborMargin

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've looked through the threads and while I have used Data Validation to stop duplicate entries, I want to also make certain that those entries are only Dates. In other words, if Cells A1:A10 are to contain unique dates, I use Data Validation with the Custom condition below; = COUNTIF($A$1:$A$10,A1)=1
If the user enters the same date more than once, an error message pops up. However, the user is not prevented from entering a range of dates in a cell such as "July 5-7". How can I validate that the date is entered only once AND the entry is a valid Date. With Data Validation it seems I can specify to allow a DATE with specific criteria, or the Custom, but I can't see how I can do both.
In a userform I have 2 textboxes date1 and date2 (data from calendar1 userform2). I want date2 always to be higher than date1.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI need a formula that will calculate the number of days from a date entered into cell A1 to today's date. Whether it's before or after todays date. Example:
5/10/2009 to today is -9
5/22/2009 to today is 3
Cell B1 contains a date, then B2 contains a formula that says:
=IF(A1>TODAY(),A1,A2)
A1 contains a green tick and A2 contains a red cross.
What I am trying to add is that if B1 contains no date then B2 needs to be blank.
I tried using =IF((A1="",0),(A1>TODAY(),A1,A2) to get it to show a 0 if there was no data but this doesn't work.
I am using Excel 2003.
I have a lost and found log that has 2 worksheets: (1) Unresolved and (2) Resolved. Data is entered into the Unresolved worksheet when something is lost or found. When a date is entered under Date Claimed / Sent to Capitol Police (column I), I would like the data in that row to be removed from the Unresolved worksheet and automatically inserted in the next blank row of the Resolved worksheet. I know very little VB,

I'm using nested SUBSTITUTE formula to make some changes to the some of the data. I'm also using IFERROR to return the input if it does not find the criteria I have specified. I have lot of variations in my input data.
The formula works fine for all except for date format input.
Sample:
N90232Y09--->SUBSTITUTE(A1,"N","")-->90232Y09
12335--->12335
12/3/1923---->58936 (I want the date to be retained)
why the date format is changed even if don't specify any changes for it. I expect my IFERROR to just retain the input as it is.
I'm working on the final stage of a project. I'm attempting to write code that will set off a chain of events if two dates are 91+ days apart from each other . I've attached a sample worksheet that shows the bare bones basics of what I'm attempting to do.

How can I add a date stamp that will populate a field when text is entered into another cell but will not change every time I re-open the sheet. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have to enter date into cells. It is being written from the lists of paper, where for date is entered only year (e.g. 1987), but I have to enter it into excel with day and month (the program working with data only recognizes this form; eg 01.01.1987).
I was thinking of writing a conditional formatting, to remind if I will forget to write 01.01. before year.
I prepared formula like this (to check for the dots):
=IF(AND(MID(AD2;3;1)=".";MID(AD2;6;1)=".");1;0)
But it is not working, because the function recognizes general formatting of cell instead of date formatting (28491 instead of 01.01.1987).
