View 3 RepliesI have a workbook with daily sales information for each week in a period (4,5 or 6 weeks) depending on the fiscal year calendar. I have a dashboard to select the weekending date in cell D7. I used mscal 7.exe to embed the calendar. I need the date to remain the same, but want the calendar to show the current date. Cell H5 shows the current period;i.e. 1,2,3,4 etc. Cell H7 shows the week number of the period (1,2,3,4,5 and 6 for December).
I need vba code to showthe appropriate week's daily sales worksheet based on the info in cell H7 on the dashboard. The week number on the dashboard page is obtained fromthe calendar worksheet with a vlookup formula. These sheets are named "week 1, week 2, week 3, week 4, week 5 and week 6". I need to assign this code to a shape with the caption Create New Week.
setting up a worksheet that forces a link to another worksheet when text is entered.
For instance, I will have several columns in the first worksheet (Sheet 1). For each entry, a tally ("X") will be added under the applicable columns. Most of the column headings are pretty straightforward. To keep things uncluttered, I want one of the columns to have an auto-link (?) feature so that when the user adds an X in this one column (we'll call it Column D), the user will then be auto-linked to another worksheet (Sheet 2) in the workbook. Sheet 2 will have room for more information regarding Column D, Sheet 1.
This is probably far easier then I am making it but I need to take the information that is in a textbox created through the control toolbox and copy and paste that information into a cell on different tab in the workbook. I have tried the infamous google and haven't been able to find much. The excel books that I have don't really touch on the control toolbox functions.

I have a summary worksheet that needs revolving values, based on the 5 most current worksheets (all of which are identical).
I am trying to convert a formula that refers to another workbook as text.
E.g. in cell A1 the formula is "= '[Management Pack for January 2014.xlsx]Monthly Income Statement'!$G$23"
How do I in cell A2 show the reference "'[Management Pack for January 2014.xlsx]Monthly Income Statement'!$G$23" as Text?
The above formula changes the whole time.
In short I what to be able to check a check box and have the adjacent cell, which contains the tab name, to then reveal that tab and add a link to the tab to cell contain the tab name. I have done this with copying and pasting existing linked cells, but now I have 100 more to do and I do not want to write repetitive code to get it done.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to link a cell e.g. A10 that has a time value in it (there is a formula in this cell that puts in the time value) to another cell in a range of cells e.g. B1:B1000 that has the same time value?
I know someone out there knows how to do this.
I'm trying to create a dynamic chart title by inserting a text box in the chart title that displays the value of the last populated cell in column A. The number of rows increases over time, so I'm trying to come up with a dynamic cell reference. When I hover over the text box a tool tip appears with this text "TextBox 2" so I assume that is the name of the text box. I'm definitely open to other methods that do not use vba. It seems that none of this code can activate the text box:
Code:
Sub textbox()
Worksheets("Figure3-5").TextBoxes("TextBox 2").Range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Value
End Sub

I have a workbook that gets saved many times with many different filenames.
All I want to do is have cell A1 display as text the name of the file.
eg similar to the date function, there should be a = filename function .
I have created a cover sheet with various command buttons linking into the available worksheets. I was wondering if it is possible to set the title of the command buttons by linking them to the text in a particular cell in each work sheet??
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to put together some code to have Excel to copy all the text files from a folder with numerous text files, all of which have identical formatting, to one worksheet. Furthermore, I need the copying event to occur every time the workbook is opened so that it will "refresh/overwrite" the worksheet with all of the files in the folder.
I have lifted some code from several sites which would seem to an untrained eye to accomplish what I am trying to get done, however I run into a file path error.
I have two worksheets, one with detail monthly information and one with YTD information. So let's say the three numbers I want to capture in the YTD sheet are in columns B, G and I on the monthly sheet. January's data might be in B5, G5 and I5. February's data is in B12, G12 and I12 and so on.
On the YTD sheet in cell C2 I link to Monthly!B5 and in C3 I link to Monthly!B12 so cells C2 to C13 on the YTD sheet show the monthly totals from column B on the detail sheet. On the YTD sheet, cells C20 to C31 show the monthly totals from column G on the monthly sheet, so cells G5, G12, etc. And finally, cells C40 to C51 on the YTD sheet show monthly totals form column I on the monthly sheet.
In the past I've always created all these links manually. After creating the links in C2 to C13 on the YTD sheet, is there a way to use a formula in C21 that uses the link in C2 to create a link for G5?
I'm trying to develop code that will perform the function in the title. I want to use an if statement that looks at cells across the worksheet and where it finds certain text it should colour the entire row. I would also like to be able to input the text via a user box. I don't necessarily want the code

I need to record every agents closed deal.
For example i have agent A, B, C & D
I have a worksheet for each agent.. but I need a overview sheet for all the deal closed.
Is there a way that if I update the overview sheet and setting the formula in A, B, C & D worksheet that when there is their name appear in the overview sheet will record in their own sheet as well, so I don't need to update the overview sheet and individual agent sheet.
I need a VBA code to reference the cell value to activate a particular worksheet name. In the sheet "Ini", Range ("B4"), there is a text of "Rawdata" This text is used to reference to the specific Sheet name and activate it.
However, I am unable to get my code to work. Thus, I changed it with a ' with green highlights for the following lines:
'Worksheets.Open Filename:=DataRawSheet
'ActiveSheet.Range("A1").Select

In the Excel file I am trying to create I have a code that is sending an email notification that a file is ready for review. In that notification I want to insert a link to the file the email is referring to. No files are attached to the email.
Anyway, the code I am using is not pasting the link properly. This is what is pasted into the email body:
file://C:Test4DarrenRRR09-0001 DARREN CORP.xls (this link does not work)
The link should be appearing something like:
file://C:Test4DarrenRRR09-0001 DARREN CORP.xls
I can't seem to alter the code to do what I want. When I hover over the filename while stepping through my code everything look correct so I think it must be the line of code below that requires altering....

When you click the "update Workbook" button, it creates new tabs using the names in Column A5 through A29. If you look at the tabs named John Jones and Phil Williams, you see what I want to happen once the tabs are named. If you look at Mary Smythe, and the rest of the sheets, this is what actually happens.
My question is two fold.
1. Can the sane button be used to grab and copy the data in the corresponding rows as the named tabs? If no, how can that be done?
2. I want to populate the new sheets with the data as in the John Jones, and Phil Williams sheets automatically.
