When A Date Entered On A Specific Cell, Automatically Enter A Text In Other Cell

I have 6 Headings in excel named...
"A" in cell A1, B in B1, "C" in C1, "D" in D1, "E" in E1 and "F" in F1.
There are two projects.
Project 1 has phase A, D & F and Project 2 has phase A, B, C, D & E.
My Specification follows...
1). Take Prject 1 - Which starts from A...in cell A2 I will keyin "A". When the phase comes to an end I will key in the end date of the phase. As soon as I key in the end date in cell A2 Letter D should automatically appear in the cell D2 and when Phase D comes to an end I will key in the end date in Cell D2 which should automatically keyin F in the cell F2. and is the same case for Project 2.

I want to enter the word 'Closed' in cell B1 when the due date in cell A1 is exceeded by 272 days. I have tried using conditional formatting and excel accepts the formula but nothing seems to happen. Here is what I have tried;
B1=IF(A1<=NOW()-272,"Closed")

I am trying to enter a value in a cell which is dependent on a corresponding value in a table. I have a table A which has a cab type and a corresponding cab number.
What I want to achieve is that when I enter the cab number in another table say in cell (D3), the cab type is automatically entered in cell (C3).

I have a problem regarding highlighting a specific cell, when i entered a specific date in another cell
Let me explain
If there is a Name, joining date, termination date/resignation date in cell A1 A2 & A3 respectively.
If the name is John, Joining date = 01/01/2012, Resignation Date 06/06/13
I need a formula which highlights the cell A2 plus all those cells which have the same date when i entered a date (i.e 01/01/2012) in another cell.

Is there any way I can make it so an image is hyperlinked to a cell with specific text entered. After clicking on the image, the cell where the image is hyperlinked to changes text.
For example:
An image of a strawberry is hyperlinked to a cell which contains the word "strawberry".
After clicking on the strawberry image, the cell which contained the word "strawberry" now contains the word "strawberry1".
If you understand that, I would so love the help.

how to make my network days stop counting when I insert a value in the completed column (in this case H3). I have a Date Received column (A3), a due day column (G3) and the last column with the date (N3). My remaining days column keeps counting after I filled the completed cell (H3) and won't stop counting after. I need a formula to stop after the completed cell is fill up.

Any way where is a list of cells (b3:b113) has text entered, or specific text entered, it will enter a static cell in the corresponding "d" column.
I know of CTRL + ; but i don't really know how to get it to work as a macro, can't find a forumla that enters the static date, and i don't want to make a macro to copy + paste special the date when it happens.
So all i should have to do is entered text in column b, then it will add a time stamp, when that text was entered, it doesn't have to update.
Like all i need is this, but instead of the "now()" function, it will have another function that doesn't automatically update?
=IF(ISBLANK(E5)=FALSE,NOW(),"")

I have created a user form using the addins that come with excel to create a calendar that will allow the user to select a date and automatically put that in a specific cell. My system is office 2000.
The code is as follows:

How can I add a date stamp that will populate a field when text is entered into another cell but will not change every time I re-open the sheet. I have been using =if(B4="",NOW()) which changes each time though and as soon as text is entered it disappears. I want to capture the actual date that someone enters text into a cell and save that date in another cell???

I am working on an Inventory Spreadsheet. I have need it to date time stamp that willpopulate a different cell /field when text are entered in a different cell/field and will not change all the previous dates entered on the spreadsheetevery time I re-open the spreadsheet. I have attached a spreadsheet which, when you enter a matching value in the vehicle column, the cell that matches the vehicle name in both instances (column and row) is ticked. Think I am wanting to use a worksheet_calculate function but cannot figure out how to write the appropriate lookup in VBA. I do not want a formula in the cell.

I need to create a macro to where once a cell has had a formula or data inputed that it locks afterwards and cannot be edited without unportecting the sheet or not at all. The problem is I have no idea how to program in VBA. I can get there and select the worksheet but after that I am stumped. How would I enter the macro and what should the macro look like?

I am using Excel 2003 at work.
New cases are entered on to the spreadsheet. The case remains open until a closure date is entered, at which point the case is closed. What I need is the following:
Cell A3 = should say "Open" if there is no value in cell Y3
Cell A3 = should say "Closed" if a date or any value is entered in cell Y3. Ideally it should only say "Closed" if a date is entered in format xx/xx/xx, but am flexible so that it says "Closed" if any data is input.
At the moment Cell A1 has a drop down list consisting of open and closed. I will remove this if it causes complication.

So I am having trouble figuring out how to do multiple text to equal multiple numbers. For instance right now I use =IF(E9="JOHN DOE","07", but I would like to have it where IF E9 = John Doe the cell shows 07, but IF the E9 = Sam Doe I want the cell to show 08, and the same IF E9 = Pat Doe the cell shows 09 and so on.
Meaning is there a way to have multiple functions go to a cell dependent on what is entered into E9 for example. I just want to have a number come out in one cell if a certain name is entered in a different cell. I loooked at this post [URL]....which got me started,

I need a formula that will basically just display a 1 or 0 in one cell based on the date in the cell next to it.
If the date is older than 180 days then a 0 will be displayed in the cell.
If the date is less than 180 days then a 1 will be displayed in the cell.
I have an attachement as an example.
