how to add drop list box or combo box in this yearly time sheet so every employee has his own record in this time sheet so when ever i select name from drop list all info changed, i did include table in sheet 1 as an example.

Sheet 2 has boxes where a user can select a last name from all last names in sheet1. What I want to happen after the user selects the last name in sheet 2 is for it to automatically fill in the rest of the data (ie Rank, First Name, Address, city, Home phone number, Cell Phone number). View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a drop down list which returns values based on what has been selected in the previous drop down list in the adjacent cell, e.g. if 'Apples' is selected in the previous cell then you should only be able to select from 'Gala, Granny Smith', or if 'Oranges' is selected you should only be able to select 'Seville, Blood Orange'. Is there a formula which would do this, or can I use a pivot table somehow? I'm totally stumped.

I'm not including my spreadsheet because it has company information however, I will try to articulate my request as best I can. I currently have an Excel spreadsheet with about 20 worksheets, I would like to be able to click on the first worksheet, create a "Drop Down box" or "Data Validation" box or whatever I need to do to be able to view information in a range of cells on ANOTHER worksheet within the same workbook.
I've tried Data Validation, Drop Down Boxes, Define name ranges, all to NO avail. I'm missing a step somewhere, because I'm still not able to view the information on the first worksheet.
I'm need to add a droplist with periods 1,2,3,4 etc... that references a cell then populates that same reference in a cell raange. Example: cell E1 contains the droplist with periods 1-4 as choices to select from, when you select period 1 it populates the dates jan 15 in cells E4:E7, if you select period 2 it populates dates jan 31, etc. how to add the droplist, how to expand the list, show the formula and how to expand it as I will have more data than this short example.

However, I want to have multiple modes, so users can have different sets of tickboxes. Ideally, I would have a drop-down menu/ combo box at the top of the page with the 4 modes in, and then when selected the appropriate tick-boxes are shown. I considered creating 4 tickboxes in every location, and just showing them (object.hide/.show) when the option was selected in the combo box. I am currently using Excel Form Tickboxes, and counting themall, but if I did this method I would need to count them for each mode. would I need an array?

I have different committee names that I want to appear on the individualized sheets, based on whether the person is apart of that committee or not. On my master sheet, I choose the persons name under the committee and I want that committee name to show on the individualized sheet. For example, I want A1 on Master to show on Name 1, B3 and A10 on Master to show on Name 1, C3. Can I write a formula to achieve this or or am I asking too much? In my actual file, I will have about 10 names and 5 committees with one person being on up to all 5 of the committees.

Both combo boxes will use the same source range. The problem is that when the cells are read into the combo boxes, they revert to decimal values instead of time. I have tried several different things to get them to show as time, but nothing seems to work. How do I get them to show as a time value?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've written an Excel (using 2007, compatibility mode to 2003) app for our stock control. Basically it's a protected stock sheet which the user adds/removes stock via a form.
When the user runs the form the following code loops through the stock list header adding item names to a combo box. Problem is I get a run-time error if there's more than 60+ items but while the error always occurs, it happens at different places in additems.
Run-time error '-2147024809 (80070057)
Invalid argument.
In the code I've allowed a loop to 1000 items but in reality they'll be no more than 150.
I am trying to create a fairly simple spreadsheet with about 8 columns and about 400 rows. One of the columns features a drop-down list with about 8 or 9 different options. Dependant on which option is selected, i would like the entire row to change colour with that option.
For example:
FAILED - whole row changes red
SUCCESSFUL - row has no fill
Tested - row changes to orange
etc.

Basically i have a data compilation of the sales for each sales agent for each month. I'm trying to create a simple, controlled table where the user can just choose which Employee(List Box) and the Month(List Box) and it will display their TOTAL Sales, the catch is TOTAL sales will be the sum of sales from previous months up till the chosen month.

I would like my combo box list to change base on the value of A1. That is, I have its input range being B1:F1 - "Year 1", " Year 2" etc.
Example:
-If cell A1 is the value "10" then the combo box default list item would be
"Year 1" (which is cell "B1")
-If cell A1 is the value "20" then the combo box default list item would be
"Year 2" (which is cell "C1") ETC...
I have a list of combo boxes embedded on a worksheet and I would like to have them accessible through an array. I am an old VB 5 coder and this was a method I used very often and found it to be quite the time saver, but I cannot find a way to do this in excel.
