Is there a work around to pull data from cells in excel to another tab with standard language? For example the template language will stay the same except in example A's case the last sentence "0.0" hrs will vary based what's sitting in B34.
It's stating the formula is too long. Is there too much text?
Sometimes the link would be in the middle of the text as shown in example B below with dates 00/00/00.

I manage to use formula find for 1 text in 1 statement, but in confuse how to get another text found if i have "8 text" to find. Generally, there will only be "1 text" for each statement.
Maybe in 1 statement there have only "IC" or "Staff Tagging" or Name" or "Product" or etc till 8.
how to add alternating cells when all are numbers, e.g. B8 to KW8 are all numbers and I want to add B8, D8, F8, etc. until KV8 and then separately add C8, E8, G8, etc until KW8. Is there a more efficient way to do this than =sum(b8,D8, etc)? I also need to do the same with =counta(b8, d8, etc).
I have a list of numbers in column A (i.e.: 1234)and I need them to show up in column B in with an "*" asterisk on each side on the number (i.e.: *1234*). So I was using "=a1" in cell B1, is there away to add the asterisk to the formula as text?
An original text string entry appearing in an Excel cell would be:
"N7C Neuroprotective J5Z Antiviral, other M2Z Antiarthritic, other J5A Antiviral, anti-HIV"
I need to extract N7C, J5Z, M2Z and J5A from this string and list these alphanumeric values in separate cells adjacent to the original text string. The challenge is that these alphanumeric references may appear in different positions within the original string with no fixed value e.g. a "," separating them. The alphanumeric references may also be 3 or 4 characters in length and there may be different numbers of alphanumeric references in the original string.
Another example would be (very different from the first):

You can see that in this further example "A10C" & "M1A1" are 4 character alphanumeric strings wheras the others feature 3 characters.
The above list represents 2 columns. The left column is 400 lines long. The right column is partially complete with 2 letter codes that represent the 6 letter codes on the right. I'm trying to convert the column in the XXYZXX format to a 2 letter column and each of those 2 letters corresponds to the 6 letter column on the left. How do I do this using any method or Vlookup? How does one convert a column of text to a corresponding column of text? I don't want to have to manually type in 2 letter codes that match up the left column. What do I do instead?
See attached worksheet for reference. Is it possible (while utilizing the same spreadsheet on a weekly basis) to zero a spreadsheet subsequent to its use. Importantly however, all relevant formulas must remain perfectly intact and will re-establish themselves once relevant data is placed inside an individual cell? In other words, the entire sheet is blank bar the top date and respective headings. Once any text is placed inside cells H10:H19, the formulas from the associated Row re-applies itself to the “Week-Start” dates, “Week-End” dates and references a default “Phone” amount for ‘$10’? The Data Validation formulas I’m sure would remain undamaged? This would prevent ‘text clutter’ (such as dates extending to the bottom with no apparent referencing or connecting information?
This task joins a string together based on a number of characters per cell in the range.
I want to isolate one range, Col N, and add an IF condition to it.
There may be other issues preventing this from happening, e.g. the number of IF that exist in the complete formula. I will isolate the current cell and its requirements and then post the entire formula at the end for reference....

I'm trying to run a countif formula in a separate worksheet searching for a long text string. The text string is long enough that I can't copy the entire string into the Ctrl F Find function.

F4 = text string put together using the values of multiple adjascent cells. Total characters are over 26.
I'm tring do a simple formula: =CA3+BP3+BE3+AT3+AI3+X3+M3, but because the cells I am adding have formulas in them already it is returning a error. Can I add them using 'sumproduct' formula, or is there another way?
I would now like to as remove the first column and add another column a and b. A would say "Service From Date" and column B would say "Service To Date" In addition I would like to add a column between "5202 Meals Provided" and "5221 S.A. Facility Lodging" a column that reads "7025 Number of Days Care" and that tallies like the rest of them.
Is there a way I can add formulas dynamically to a sheet using VBA? I need to do cost calculations in the excel sheet for each company defined as an input from the user, so the number of formulas needed will change? Is there a way to write in the formulas to the sheet?
I have a long date and time text value in a cell such as "2013/10/02 07:43:39.39", where the fractions of a second are very important.
I can use cdate([text]) to convert the text string to a value, but only if i omit the seconds fraction: "2013/10/02 07:43:39". Otherwise i get a type mismatch error.
Is there any way i can get the whole date/time string converted to a date value? The only way i can think to do it it at the moment is to convert the date/time, then divide the seconds fraction by 86400 and add the 2 values. Is there a better way?
Secondly, i have a large number of these date strings, typically >30k lines x 7 columns. Each string is preceded and trailed by a [space] character.
I can strip these extra spaces no problem. And, i can "loop" to perform it, again no problem. But it's going to take time to perform and i'd rather not if i can avoid it.
How do i separate example: #EM/13/10000749#JTDEl_1234#abc-NORTH#1##No Traffic Data into separate cells like 0749 to A1 , JTDEl_1234 to A2 , abc-NORTH to A4 , 1 to A7 , No Traffic Data to A5

I have a range of numbers stored as text. I need to convert them to long numbers using vba. I tried typing a simple number = clng(a2), but that didnt work. Can someone help me with A) the right formula and B) the proper end(xlUp) format.
in my workbook: in sheet1 i have many cells with formulas which calculates values from sheet2. I also have a macro which is used often that will arrange and prepare data in sheet2, including adding some columns.
The problem is that after these columns are added, the formulas in sheet1 will be changed, even if I used f4 ($) in the formulas.
how can I freeze these formulas? I think a solution is to include the formulas in sheet1 in the macro I'm running for sheet2. But I would like to avoid this.
I have a workbook which is used to merge new customers data into letters and then monitor the progress of the job through to closure. I have a worksheet (New Jobs) where new jobs are entered which acts as the db for the word document and have assigned a macro that appends all new jobs to the monitoring worksheet (WO Open). I have 10 cells in WO Open worksheet to the right of the new data that I need to populate with formulas.
I have made a table with many dynamic formulas that I want to import into the Name Manager. It has the names in Column A and the "Refers to" formulas in Column B. Unfortunately, when highlighting the cells and using the "Create from Selection" feature of Excel 2010 it puts the Column B cell address in the "Refers to" field, not the actual formula. Is there another way to get these formulas into the "Refers to" field without typing them all out or coping and pasting them individually?
I want me to track our inbox. All jobs that go into the inbox get logged on a sheet and at the end of the day get transferred to an Excel spreadsheet. They now want to track how long s job sits in the inbox before it's logged out and worked on. Currrently we put a time and date for both logged in and logged out. I've attached below a sample spreadsheet and a brief description as to some restrictions.
Our hours of work is 7AM to 6PM. So we only want to add add up the time the job was in the inbox based on those hours.... ie if a job came in right at 6PM at night and was logged out at 7:05AM in the morning, the total time that job was in the inbox was 5 mins. Same thing applies for the weekends.
I'm suppose to be in charge of creating that part of the spreadsheet.
