Auto Populate Current Date And Time On Making Entry
Sep 18, 2013
I am trying to get excel to auto populate the current date and time each time I make an entry, however, each time i make an additional entry the current date and time populates but it changes all the prior entry's with that current date and time.I am trying to keep a log of all the times I make a new entry. Correct formula that will work?
I think there's a way to use Excel to automatically create a 5-day calendar. Maybe a macro?
The date format must be dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm and it must be in text format. If its June 9, 2012 at 6pm - the correct format is: 12/06/2012 18:00
I want to post 5 times a day: 09:05, 9:55, 10:45, 16:55 and 18:00.
Column A is where the date and time goes. Ideally, I'd enter in A1 the start date and then run a macro that would automatically populate the next 5 consecutive days with the specific times above (so 25 rows total in column A).
I have to save the file as a csv file, so the date and time format has to be in text or I'll get an upload error in Hootsuite.
i have this excel sheet that am using as a monitoring device to track the login and log out patterns of a group of 20 agents. i am able to monitor their current state by using an external link to the local intranet and vlookup.
the status of agent can be either Logged In or Logged Out which populates in E6 to E25. the cells f6 to f25 again running vlookup shows the last login time of the agent.
what i'm looking for is this: every time the agent status changes from Logged In to Logged Out or visaversa, the corresponding blank cell in the row needs to populate the the time by value.
I am attempting to pick up a date with time entry on a worksheet and place it into a TextBox on a UserForm. Format on the sheet is mm/dd/yyyy h:mm AM/PM. The UserForm is placing the value as mm/dd/yyyy 12:00 AM. here is the
Private Sub UserForm_Initialize() If Not Range("dDate").Value = "" Then TextBox2.Value = Range("dDate").Value TextBox2.Text = Format(DateValue(TextBox2.Text), "mm/dd/yy h:mm AM/PM") Else TextBox2.Value = "" TextBox2.SetFocus End If End Sub
"dDate" is the named range where the date is sitting. The format is also set on the TextBox2 exit event. Can anyone see why only the date portion is being transfered with the default 12:00 AM for no time component of the value?
I am trying to populate a listbox in a userform with only certain data. Currently I am able to populate all rows in a worksheet but I need to have only rows with the current date to show. In col A is the date and col B is a persons name.
I am now trying to create a excel macro to auto populate all the dates with reference to a start date and end date. The catch is that only working days are required in the range. My reference cells (start and end date) are in Sheet 1 while the destination cell range are in Sheet 2. The reason for creating a macro instead of a function is that the intervals between the start date and end date changes frequently (annual, semi-annual and quarterly) Best case scenario would be a button which I can just press after i input the dates to generate the range of dates in another sheet.

What is the code i need to use to assign a macro to a command button which inserts the current date and time in the selected cell regardless of where that cell is?
What I want to do is if I add data into B7 or F7 then the current date will appear in J7. I also don't want the date to change every time the project is opened.
Thus,
If I enter "withdraw or any word" into B7 or F7 - The current date (4-Dec) would appear in J7.
then if I close excel and I open it tomorrow, J7 would still read as 4-Dec, while if I enter "deposit or any word" into B8 or F8, the current date (5-Dec) would appear in J8.
- would need to be able to enter multiple entries on one day as well.
i try to lock cells in the area the VBA code affects. My goal is to actually have affected cells by this VBA code lock immediately after anything is entered in the affected cells. Area needing Debugging is in the If - Else portion. My worksheet will be protected.
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) Dim LLoop As Integer Dim LTargetRange1 As String Dim LDestRange1 As String LLoop = 10 While LLoop <= 1000 'Link column B to A LTargetRange1 = "B" & CStr(LLoop) LDestRange1 = "A" & CStr(LLoop) If Not Intersect(Range(LTargetRange1), Target) Is Nothing Then If Len(Range(LTargetRange1).Value) > 0 Then Range(LDestRange1).Value = Date Else Range(LDestRange1).Value = Null End If End If LLoop = LLoop + 1 Wend End Sub
On sheet 1, I have dates in column A, then numbers under LabA through C. On sheet 2, I would like the contents of columns B, C, D to autofill when entered. However, I would like to display only the last entry. For example, Lab A (column B) is currently showing "7" in cell B6, if I enter a number in B7, I would like for sheet 2 to autoupdate cell B3 and display that new entry instead of the "7".
Need formula for populate a cell with a date. I have a workbook with 5 sheets (mon, tues, wed, thur, fri) and I'd like to type a date on mondays sheet so all the other sheets follow on the date ie:
Noverber 1st 2008 is typed into sheet 1: A1, sheet 2 automatically displays November 2nd 2008, sheet 3 displays November 3rd, etc..
I know it's basic progression, but I'm not sure how to do it with date/text...
The attached workbook requires users to enter a date on the SAT sheet (B3). I would like that date to always represent Saturday (the first day of our work week) Is there a formula I can use to validate if the date entered by the user corrleates to Saturday or is there a way to auto-populate the workbook with the Saturday's date?
I've been looking for an easy way to add time to a cell that has a time or date and time in it, for example, 5/31/2007 12:06:27 PM
I want to add 30 minutes to it, for example, without having to split it apart and manually add it in, worrying about adding an hour if I go over 60 minutes, etc.
If I was doing it with a cell formula, I could use "=A1 + TIME(0,30,00)" but I don't know what the equivalent would be in VBA.
I have a workbook template that will have multiple tabs. I would like to have it that when you open this workbook the date populates in A1 for each tab and is static. At that point they can save with another name leaving the template intact so when you open it again (on another day) it will populate with the current date. Is this possible and if so how?
I am building a budget spreadsheet and would like the date to automatically populate in column H when data is entered into rows J through AN, or alternately update column H when a sum total is populated in column I
I need to repeat this for rows 4 through 63
I was trying to use the following code, but cannot get it tweaked right.
I'm trying to set up a template running loads of formulas. One of the aspects I want is that a specific field refreshes with the current date, but always reverts to 10:00:00 (10AM) as the time.
I am trying to have the calendar in the second tab of the attached excel file to auto populate based on info in the first tab.
In the first tab, there is the start and end dates of certain projects. The calendar will need to only show the project name of every project being worked on that specific day.
Some days will have more than one project being worked on, the Calendar will just need to list them all under that day. The Start and End dates count as days the project being worked on as well. We will also need the calendar to auto update whenever we modify the dates in the first tab or add/remove projects (rows).
How can I get an automatic time & date entry into cell B1 based on a alphanumeric entry in cell A1. The time and date must not re-calculate every time the workbook is opened.
I am trying to create a code so that when the save button is hit, it puts the current date and time into a given cell before it saves. This way I will know the last time something was updated and saved.
Now when I try to run the macro, it gives me an error saying: Compile Error, Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment. And it highlights "format" in yellow.
I have cells on my spreadsheet which contain: =now() and they work as they should - displaying the date and time at the moment of entry. Unfortunately the cells update when other info is added at other locations on the sheet - is there a way to ensure they enter the current 'now' only at the point of initial entry - such that the data doesn't then alter?
I am looking for a formula or VBA that will be in each in cells D5:D300 and will look at the value entered into the cell in column C and change the 4 digits into the date and time in the same format as NOW() returns.
Example
2045 becomes 17/02/2012 20:45
But I would also want it to see if the 4 digits that represent the time are after 14:00 and before 00:00 then the date would be the date in cell A1-1
I have a spreadsheet that contains a list of names/numbers/dates and I have to manually go through the list each day highlighting the row if it contains a date that is more than 48 hours old. How to accomplish this in a macro? Example:
That is the layout of the spreadsheet so I would have to manually highlight rows 2 and 4 because the date in Column D is greater than 48 hours ago. The range is A1:D25 and the cells are changed/updated daily.
