Calculation That Uses Number Of Days Of Previous Month?

Aug 3, 2006What I am trying to to is calculate the number of Years, Months, Weeks, and Days from one date to another. So far I can calculate years and months accuretly but I'm having trouble with the days and can't seem to figure out how to do the weeks.
I'm using the formula: =DATEDIF(B1,B2,"y")&" Year(s), "&MOD(DATEDIF(B1,B2,"m"),12)&" Month(s), and "&(MOD(DATEDIF(B1,B2,"d"),365))&" day(s)"
B1 is the current days date
B2 is the entered date
What I am getting when I enter the date 9/14/09 with the current date (8/3/06) is 3 years, 1 month and 43 days. when it shoud only be 3 years 1 month and 11 days. Any date I enter the days are not right. I can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong. Also I'd like to get the weeks to come up also. Such as Start date 8/3/06 Entered date 10/19/09. What I want to see: 3 year(s), 2 month(s), 2 week(s), 2 day(s).

Dec 30, 2003Im trying to use the equivilent of: =DAY(DATE(YEAR(H5),MONTH(H5)+1,0)) in vba. but i am having trouble with the use proper parenthesis.
basically the above will work in an excel workbook and return the number of days in a month. thats all i really need. so if there is an easier way, which im sure there is, then im up for it...

Jun 16, 2008I have checked searching the forums for this but nothing that really matches what I am looking for. I am trying to, from a date, deduce how many days there are in that month. I have tried a solution where I look at EOMONTH adding and subtracting but this is quite cumbersome. Is there some code out there where someone has solved this?

When setting up a Direct Debit There are 3 options, the 7th, 17th and 27th. I've put these into a drop down list. I need this list to be slightly dynamic. I must allow 10 working days from the date of the arrangment before I can apply the DD.
To explain further. If someone were to want to set up a DD and spoke to me today. If they then requested the DD be taken on the 7th, I wouldn't be able to set it up until the 7th of December as 10 working days are required. I'd like the list to reflect this. I can do it in OO with a simple if / switch but excel is a strange creature and I'm not sure how to approach the problem.
From that I think I also need to calculate the number of weeks remaining in the current financial year. I think I should be able to do this by using the Today() function and some maths.

Jan 29, 2013My problem is , I have a date range 21-Feb-2013 till 07-Mar-2013 (Col C2, Col D2 respectively) which is holiday list for a person.
I am trying to pull out the number of working days for that person in the month of Feb which should exclude weekends.
To get the total no. of working days for the month of Feb, I have used the below formula.
=NETWORKDAYS(DATE(YEAR(C2),MONTH(C2),1),EOMONTH(C2,0))
This gives me a value of 20 which is correct.
Now I need to find no. of days which fall under the month of FEB from the date range 21-Feb-2013 till 07-Mar-2013 (Col C2, Col D2) which are working days. so that I can subtract that from no. of working days for that month (FEB) to get the no. of working days which the person has actually worked.

Aug 29, 2013At the end of each month, my agency collects data about clients served in our programs. One of the many pieces of information they want is the number of "bed days" a client was residing within our programs for the given month.
For example:
Jon Doe entered the program on 7/16/13 and discharged on 8/15/13. I would like to know how to calculate the number of days in July that Mr. Doe was residing in the program. (The date of discharge is not included.)
I recently took over the responsibility of completing reports such as this one at my office. The previous person who completed the monthly reports would count the days by hand for each client, but I know there must be a better way.

Oct 8, 2009I have three companies in column A, In Column B I have a date of when an item was sent to them, in Column C I have the amount of days this item has been out with that company. Is there a formula that will count the number of days an item has been out with one of the companies per month, and find an average if more than 1 item has been sent per month. Two items have been sent to company A in Sep 09, one item has been there 10 days the other 20 days, the answer I would be looking for is 15.

As you can see this also laps into a new year, which poses my next problem, ill probably just add more columns on to the end of the table for that though...
I will later apply different calculations to these cells but in short need to get a calculation for the number of days per month first.
(in short spreading the new value out accross the year then multiplying it by the days... i also need to apply a further daily volume cal to it).

For example, if I have a date range of 10/15/2009 to 01/13/2009, I need the formula to determine the number of days in each month within the range (October has 15 days in the date range; November has 30, December has 31, and January has 13.) Nesting Calculations Dependent On Previous Calculation
Oct 9, 2009how to determine which "Gate" an employee has attained for product sales.
Example: Employee A sells each of the 4 products and has made or exceeded Gate 1, the result should show Gate 1. If they make or exceed each Gate 2 the result should show Gate 2 not Gate 1. Etc..
Note: All 4 products must meet or exceed a Gate to be valid for that Gate. So if employee A sells to Gate 3 level on all products but one, their Gate will be at the level of that one lower product. Clear as mud?

Specifically, if the initial date is in one month, and the second is in a different month and an output would result a number of days in each month until the final date. VBA For Insert Previous Month In Sheet Name On Open
Feb 28, 2007I'd like to make a template so that when it is opened the previous month name is inserted in the sheet name. The reason I want to use previous month is that normally this report is created in the month following the month being reported. So it is opened, months are updated, then the user saves as xls. Ideally I guess sheet would not have the month on the template.
The name of the sheets are shortened months like "Dec Results Bob" and there are 8 of these.
I can tell it might start:
Private Sub Workbook_Open() (or would .xlt be the same?)
but that's about it. I made a macro of renaming sheet but that didn't really tell me if I could insert the Month there.
