Formula To Look At Previous And Following Days To See If They Are Populated
May 30, 2014
I have a sheet that shows employee absences, I require a formula that will look to see if a friday and a monday are populated and auto-populate the saturday and sunday to match the run, if the only the monday is populated then the saturday and sunday need to stay blank, if only the friday is populated then I also need the saturday and sunday to stay blank.
I have attached a sheet with the current display and the desired outcome.
formula using if's and vlookup's to populate a calendar with x's for day a person is gone. however the last couple of people that are gone are not being marked on the calendar even though i use the exact same formula (except for cell numbers and such) for previous, working entries. Here is my formula
I have designed a simple user form to populate a finding tracker spreadsheet. Updating the tracker works fine.
Although I only need to update certain textboxes in the user form, I find myself having to enter the same data in every textbox so that the next row of the spreadsheet is filled. In all cases, if a textbox is not updated for the next row, then the data should copy the data from the previous row.
For example, last data Transferred from the user form are as follows:
[Heading] Col A - Col B - Col C [Row 1] Apple - Red - 10
Assuming I would only update the textbox for Col C in the user form, the next row in my spreadsheet would look like this:
[Heading] Col A - Col B - Col C [Row 1} Apple - Red - 10 [Row 2] (empty) - (empty) - 20
As such, I would like to add a code that allows the data (Apple and Red in Col A and Col B) from the previous row to be copied automatically and only updates Col C with the new value 20.
Oh, I should add that I have mostly Textbox values (about 20 columns) in the spreadsheet with the exception of three columns with CheckBox values although I can always repeat the checkbox fields.
I have a spreadsheet in 2007. Days across the top for an entire year. So 365 columns. I need a macro to extract the 3 previous days , today's column, and the 3 next days and load to a different worksheet.
HTML worksheet A: 1/1/09, 1/2/09..... 10/17/09, 10/18/09, 10/19/09, 10/20/09, 10/21/09 .... 12/31/09 10 11 ... 14 15 17 12 22 ... 28 a g ... g c d d a ... a
the macro would create a worksheet B(if run on 10/19/09): 10/17/09, 10/18/09, 10/19/09, 10/20/09, 10/21/09 14 15 17 12 22 g c d d a
how do i get the previous days working date in VBA, how can i get VBA to determine wether we are in the week, and how will i get it to know its a monday to retrieve fridays date?
I have subtracted two dates from B2 & B1 using DATEDIF() Function and the results are available in (B5) Year, (C5) Month and (D5) Days respectively. Now the problem is how to Subtract, Add days & Months using borrow, Carry forward to the previous cells (I need formula, function for the above). I have to take 30 days from month ie in C5 if the days (D5
i need to find the last populated cell in the row say I9:CN9 and return the description for that column the resides in I5:CN5 and then fill the formula down for about 500 rows, just not sure even where to begin, do i need a custom formula in VBA? as i can't seem to find a combination that works built-in...
I have this formula populating a huge table of data for number of inspections performed, the first reference is a name of an individual, the second reference is a name of the company, and the third reference is the week ending date.
there are 5 of these sheets for 5 different categories. I can get these spreadsheets to populate but i then need to be able to sum from each spreadsheet all of the times an individual inspected a certain company, so one cell in each of the 5 tables.
Each time I do this it returns a 0. If i sum from one table it will return a number but if I sum from multiple tables I get 0
see attached file. Need to find latest non blank value - in attached file it is highlighted in yellow. From there, want to summarise 26 weeks back so, in the attached file:
Row 2 would be finding 750 and summarised back 26 weeks from 30 sep 2012 Row 3 would be finding 2250 and summarised back 26 weeks from 2 dec 2012 Row 4 would be finding 5000 and summarised back 26 weeks from 4 nov 2012
I have a series of data that acts upon a traffic light system, i.e. Green, Amber and Red. These variables are posted along row 1 for example and there are 10 columns. Per column I have a tick and cross to answer a question. How can I find out how many ticks were on green days, amber days and red days? I have attached an example.
I have a column of numeric values in column B. I have the date that corresponds with each value in column A. I am using a max formula to find the highest value in column B. What could I use to return the date of the highest value from Column A?
After a formula to copy the contents of a cell in the previous sheet in a workbook, so that if I was to copy the last sheet in a workbook the formula would automatically reference the cell from the copied worksheet and so on if I copied tht one.
Hope this makes sense I have a lot of formulas referencing the previous sheet and everytime I copy this sheet to create a new sheet I have to change the sheet number in the formulas.
eg, in sheet 8 this formula get info from sheet 7 cel J30 ='7'!J30 when i copy the sheet to create a new one (Sheet 9) I would like the new formula to automatically be ='8'!J30.
This is just a sample worksheet. I have got a worksheet with having 3 coloumns A, B & C. Column A contains E Code, while Column B is of time which user will enter. Column C contains the time in Hours. I have entered one record for example. Now, whenever user enters the value in B3, then formula from C2 should be copied to C3 i.e it should be =B3/60.
I want this to be done using VBA. Pls help me out. I want to use this feature in one of my another files which requries this feature.
Excel 2003. I have a list of names in column A, dates in column B, I need the difference between dates for the people in column A, I am doing it now with the formula shown but I need a formula to put in column C that will look at the name in column A, for that row, and then find that name above it and give me the difference between the to dates in column B. So in the example below if I put the formula in C7 it would look at A6-A2 for harry and then give me the difference between B7 and B4, 6 days, if there is not a match return blank.
if it is possible te refer to a cell in another worksheet.
I have 10 worksheets in sheet one I put in cel A4 a digit en sheet 2 I put the formula that refers to sheet 1 cel A4.
Now I want a formula that refers to sheet -1 so in sheet 3 the formula automatically refers to sheet 2 cel A4 and in sheet 4 the formula automatically refers to sheet 3 cel A4 without corrections to the formula.
I have an issue whereby I have thousands of lines of data. I need to bring back the "previous month" worth of data (along with some additional information) but not sure how to go about this.
The attached shows the example file. I need the following : 1. Take the data to populate the "Populate" tab 2. Using Column F (Invoice Date Created) to only bring back the "previous month data" - in this case it would be May 2014 3. The following formula is what I have currently for Column B of the "Populate" tab: =SUMPRODUCT(SUMIFS('Data'!$N:$N, 'Data'!$M:$M, "Invoice Payment Processed", 'Data'!$A:$A, A2)) 4. The above formula brings back all the values - I only want the previous month. 5. I am then not sure how to calculate Column C - which is a count of the amount of invoices that make up the total
I need a formula to automatically change the summary column according to the month we are in.
Ie: Last Months Data Nov Dec Jan Feb
1 8 1
7 4 7
9 2 9
'Last Months Data' column should show Dec. However, as we move into February and I complete the 'Jan' column, I would like 'Last Months Data' to automatically change to show Jan's data - is this possible?
I was previously told to use the following formula but this would automatically select the current months data and not the previous months data which is what i need - =INDEX(B2:L2,MONTH(TODAY()))
i have a slight problem with the days360 formula. Normally it works but today it keeps returning #VALUE! error. I've tried fomatting the columns to dates and also have done the text to columns but it still doesn't work.
I copied and pasted the data as values from MS Access, perhaps this is causing the problem. It works if i type the data into Excel but not when i copy and paste the data from Access.
The formula determine what was been completed on the previous work day. If it fell on a weekend or a holiday specified in another table, it would consider it the following weekday's work. However, the needs of management have changed and they would now like to see anything completed on a weekend or holiday push back to the previous weekday and I'm not exactly sure how to modify this formula to do that.
As an example, work was completed over Good Friday. Yesterday (Monday) when we ran the report, none of those showed up in our list of completed items until today (Tuesday). They would have liked those numbers to be included on Monday's report to get an accurate picture of work that was completed.
I have attached some sample data. Everything completed on the 18th, 19th is counted as 1 day behind but we would like 18th and 19th to be shown as 2 days behind, just like April 17. That way, if we ran the report today and set the filter to 1 (for column C), those items would not show up, but they would have shown up on yesterday's report.
I would like to have a formula in a spreadsheet of personal bills that counts down the number of days until each one is due each month.
In one column, I have a digit in each cell to represent the day of the month each month that the bill is due. Someone helped me with a formula that can count down days to a date that is a higher number than the present day of the month, but can I get a formula to count the days from, say, December (or any month) 28th to a due date of the 6th (of the next month)?
I have a formula in column E: =NOW() for the date.
I need a Formula in Column H from H11:H300 such that:
i) when a date is entered in G11 the number in Cell H11 should be a difference between G11 and D11 as in rows 11, 13, &14 and
ii) Until a date is entered in cell G11 the difference should be between E11 and D11 as in ROW 12
Below is an example of what I want.

Is it possible to have Excel calculate using a fill down formula the number of days between a reoccuring value in a column? For example, I have column A formated as a DATE column containing every Wednesday and Saturday of the week for all of 2006. Column B has the value 21 in day intervals of 3, 5, 7, and 6 days. Currently, I'm counting the days (or ROWS) in between each time 21 appears manually. It would be cool if Excel can count the days in between each occurance of 21 using the DATE Data column on Column A.
I am trying to put a time sheet together that will place the number 8 in a cell when the work "sick" or vacation is in another cell.
For example, if I am out sick on monday, I would like to put "sick" in the cell next to monday and have the number 8 be placed in another place. Then If I am out "sick for three days I would like all of those "sick" days to add up to 24.
