I have subtracted two dates from B2 & B1 using DATEDIF() Function and the results are available in (B5) Year, (C5) Month and (D5) Days respectively. Now the problem is how to Subtract, Add days & Months using borrow, Carry forward to the previous cells (I need formula, function for the above). Add And Subtract Numbers With No Carry Or Borrow

I want to input pick 3 (3 numbers) into a cell and with the assigned SUM to that cell to add +123 to the 3 numbers I input, but how do I get the answer not to carry over?

For pick 3 games, the numbers are; 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 (ten total).

When I add +123 to 987 I get 1110. I don't want that. I would like it to show 010 instead, lotto numbers no carry over.

How To Carry Last Entry Forward

below fig 1 is a part of a worksheet we are using for Stock. The idea is to track stock write downs on a yearly basis. Where I am struggling is a formula to carry the stock balance and value forward if there has been no movement in a given year.

The enteries in green (fig1) colums "Stk Forw" & "Car Fwr" represent how I would like the info to look.

Is there a formula that could look for the last entry in "Stk In/Out" if the column "YTD to date" is empty and carry that value forward to the next row.

I Would also need a formula to sum the Total & Car Fwr colums as one total.

Fig 2 Shows the formula I am currenlty using.

Carry Forward Balance In Excel Using Template

I want to make a template in excel. Lets assume I have Opening Balance in A1 and closing balance in B1. How do I make template make new sheet and every time I make new sheets it should take the closing balance of the previous sheet as the opening balance and so on and so forth. But the very first sheet needs to have the opening balance as unlocked cell but the rest of them needs to be locked.

Carry Over Data From Previous Row

Attached is a sample of excel file,

its a simple spreadsheet that suppose to track a usage of items that were taken out of inventory,
but at the same it needs to be printer friendly (that's what's causing all the problems),

it got messy when I had to carry over from previous row,
I had to manually enter under "Quantity ch." in order to have correct amount under "Left" column, (see row #4)

I think I can eliminate whole "Carried over" column if I create a formula that will enter data into B4 only if J3 has a number, I also need to copy the same formula's down each column,

EDIT: I'm trying to get the difference of the (date+12 months)-TODAY() to appear in months and days. (I also meant H22 not G22)

Here's the latest thing I tried (that doesn't work):

Calculate The Average Of The Previous 12 Months

I'm trying to make a formula that will calculate the average of the previous 12months. The goal is to tie the formula to a reference cell that contains a date. Each time the date is changed by a user the calculation will be updated accordingly. Here is the CSE formula that I thought would work:

{=AVERAGE(IF($B$5:$B$53=B$2,OFFSET($C$5,(COUNT(C5:$C$53)-1),0,12,1)))}

I've also attached a sample file to illustrate the problem. The 'range' portion ($C$5,(COUNT(C5:$C$53)-1)[/b]of the Offset function was setup simply to get the 12 months which preceeded the reference date.

Delete Previous Months Data

OK essentially this is my problem:

I have a daily spreadsheet, uou update for inputs and outputs each day and the spreadsheet gets to an overperformance figure (sorry if the spreadsheet is a lottle unclear, it is a simplified version)

On the first day of each month, the opening target is adjusted and you start again. The probelm is you dont know what the opening target is until roughly 21st of the month.

I created a macro that deletes the opening target and removes all the previous days before the start of the month.

The way i done this was:

Create a copy of "daily" tab, change b5 to equals c2 and copy and paste special as values. Then in d5-d58 and f5 - f58, vlookup values from old "daily" tab , and then copy and paste special as values. Then delete old "daily" tab and remname daily(2) as "daily"

What i have done is essentially created a new tab on 21st March, looking back to data only as far back as 1st Mar and the new opening bal and target is found. The macro can be used on the 21st of each month.

but...macro doesnt work, i have tried a few times and i think it is because i am vlookuping up data from a tab that i later delete...please help!! - thanks a mil to anybody that can give me a steer in the right direction.

Adjust Dates - Previous Months

I have a worksheet that displays totals from a master worksheet. At the bottom of the summary I would like to have the three previous months totals displayed from one column. I know that I can achieve this "quick and dirty" by just using VBA to display what I want, but I wanted to see if there was a better way of achieving this.

I searched and came up with a formula like[code = TEXT(H4,"MMMM"[/code] This will diplay the month name like I want, but there are also three other cells that I need the previous months in. Is there some type of formula that will autmatically change these values once the date in cell H4 changes?

Subtract Two Dates To Get Number Of Week Days - Networkdays Does Not Work

I am trying to find a formula that will return the number of week days between two dates. My specific situation is that my job sets up work orders (WO) to be completed by our staff. We have 3 dates - the date the WO was created, the date the WO is due to be completed, and the date the WO was actually completed.

I would like to subtract the Complete date from the Due date. Generally, this should always equal zero because our staff should be completing WOs on the due date! But obviously that doesn't always happen. There are times that they complete them late, and times they complete them early (yay!).

The problem with NETWORKDAYS is that even when they are completed on time, the result is 1. This formula counts instead of subtracts. I adjusted the formula to =NETWORKDAYS(A3,A4)-1 which works fine for those WOs completed on time or completed late. But for those completed early, it adds (or subtracts, really) 2 days. So for a WO completed a day early, instead of it showing -1, it shows -3. I've attached an example of WOs and the NETWORKDAYS formula I've used so you can see.

I want a forumal to do in excel.

Assuming that a workday is from 8:30am to 5:00pm. (also need to not calcualte Saturday and Sunday but this example doesn't show it).

Wednesday, 7/18/07 at 4:00pm (minus) Friday, 7/20/07 at 9:00am (should equal) 10 hours or 1 day, 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Basically what I want to do it determine how much work time has elapsed from the time a message was left on voicemail to the time that someone picks that message up. We only want to assume that a message can be retrieved duruing business hours but a message can be left at anytime!

'Last Months Data' column should show Dec. However, as we move into February and I complete the 'Jan' column, I would like 'Last Months Data' to automatically change to show Jan's data - is this possible?

I was previously told to use the following formula but this would automatically select the current months data and not the previous months data which is what i need - =INDEX(B2:L2,MONTH(TODAY()))

Counting Occurences Of Months And Days Etc In A List

I have been struggling for almost 2 days with this problem.

I have a list of data, one column of which is the date displayed in dd/mmm/yy format.
This date will always be entered by users and is variable.

I can't find a way of counting the number of occurences of each month and each day that the date represents.

So, I want to know how many occurences of March, June, May, Septemeber etc are on this list and Mondays, Tuesdays, etc.

I have tried several posssible routes, DCOUNT DCOUNTA COUNT COUNTIF SUM. I've also tried separating the date out into days & months using the MONTH & DAY functions but this didn't work either.

It also apepars (shock horror) that Excel has incorrect date & day values because entering todays date in one cell (11/05/2006) and then using the DAY function to find the day of the week for this date produces WED when it should be THU. (My system date is set as 1 Jan 1900).

I feel that Excel can't separate the months & days away from the date, since the date is stored as a numerical value and not as we humans use dates.
The dates will always be manually entered by users, probably as dd-mm and Excel will automatically add in the year.

How can I count the occurences of each month and days of the week?

...and I need to determine if the difference between them is daily, weekly, or monthly. There are 79 of these lists, on 79 different sheets so I can't visually peg them as daily, weekly, or monthly.

The way I have been looking at the problem is to calculate the number of months between the last & first dates and see if the resulting answer (+1) matches the number of actual dates, and so on...
