Code For Exiting All Active Macros?

Oct 3, 2012

I need something that will exit all macros currently in place. The reason i am asking for this is because i have code that uses Application.Run to run another macro within the current code. If the other macro called on in Application.Run has a msgbox which has an OK/Cancel option, i want the Cancel button to exit all macros, not just the one that is used to access the message box via the Application.Run.

this is the portion fo the code that shows the cancel button and my attempt to use Exit Sub; however, this only exits the current sub, not all subs.

Code:
If TnC4 = vbCancel Then
msgbox "This application has been cancelled.", vbInformation, "CANCELLED APPLICATION"
Application.Run "CLEAR"
Exit Sub
End If

Excel 2010 :: Macros - How To Update Active Worksheet Only

Oct 7, 2011

I am using excel 2010.

I have a macro-based employee leave system that works by couting the number of days shaded with a certain colour and thus calculating leave days taken, remaining and entitled... I have a single workbook with multiple sheets for different employees.

However, when I update by using ctrl alt f9, it updates all the other worksheets (ignoring their shading) with the values of the active worksheet! So if I update Peter, who has taken 14 days so far, it will update Liam's sheet too, with 14 days, ignoring Liam's actual shaded days...

How can I update each sheet individually, without compromising the other sheets?

Excel is not responding to Shift - F9.

Exiting A Loop

Jun 10, 2009

I am trying to write a macro with a loop that counts the number of occurences of a specific piece of text within a range. I have tried both Do loops and ForEach loops. How do I end the loop? It just keeps wrapping back to the beginning. Excel does not seem to recognize EOF in the way Access or SQL does.

VBA Code And Macros

Jan 4, 2010

I'm trying to teach myself VBA code and macros, and I can't work out where the code should go. Do I double click on the worksheet, and put the macro code there, or do I have to create a 'module' and put the code there? I have tried to find online tutorials but I really need a 'for idiots' guide.

Exiting A Range To Grab Additional Data

May 8, 2006

I've set a range as DD14 to G014, then using a For Next Loop asked the program to cycle through each cell in the range. Upon findng a populated cell, it stores several bits of data from that cell (already done) and then move up one cell to record the cell value (time) and again move one cell up to record the date.

Now I did get this to work using a clunky bit of code that used activecell.offset to move the focus up the two columns and a While .... Wend loop - but using a set range and cycling through each cell it does not appear to be possible - or am I wrong?

Set MyRange(1) = Range("D14:ER14")
Set MyRange(2) = Range("D23:GN23")
For MyCounter = 1 To 2
For Each Cell In MyRange(MyCounter)
If Cell.Value = "" Then Goto Skip_Cell
MyCell = Cell.Address
MyPosition = InStr(1, Cell.Value, ",")
If MyPosition = 0 And Len(Cell.Value) >= 3 Then
Tool_Number = Left(Cell.Value, 3).....................

Removes All Code From The Active Workbook..

May 19, 2009

I have this script below that removes all code from the active workbook. The reason I am removing all the code is because I am running code from my personal library and the code changes the worksheet I am working with.So while stepping through I noticed it moves over to the sheet change sub routine from the active workbook that I am working on.

So I tried to remove all the code from the Active workbook but after I remove all the code it returns a expected end of sub error, where the old worksheet change sub was? but no code is in the entire workbook? So I tried to enter something in the blank sheet mod and it returns a (Cant Edit Module) error.

VBA Code To Access Active Cell ONLY

Nov 10, 2008

I am trying to add a button on my spreadsheet that will give the person Access to one cell only. The cell in its normal state is Locked. The cell is ALWAYS in Column F of a sheet titled Master. The button is located on the sheet titled Master.

The real problem may arise in that once the person has access to the cell and they make their changes I need that cell to return to being Locked and the sheet once again Protected with Filtering.

Does this make sense to anyone? Can it be done and if so any suggestions?

Remove Macros With Code

Jun 24, 2007

I have developed a series of spreadhseets in which I use a macro to derive and insert the data from a SQL Server db. These spreadsheets may have one or more worksheets, some of which start as blank "canvases", others are preformatted with static data.

They are used for client reporting so are heavily formatted and include graphs; some manual preformatting, some coded, some graphs drawn completely by the code, some already in place - I just populate the data source. The VBA for the most complex one extends to around 5-6000 lines of code.

While this code does not add a huge amount to the footprint of the files, I feel that it is inappropriate for the spreadsheets to be distributed to the end clients with all this code included. The code is password "protected" but we all know how effective that can be although that is not really the point anyway - I simply feel it would be more professional if the code were not there at all.

There doesn't seem to be any options on a "Save As" method which enable the resulting sheets to be saved without the macros. I have tried recording a macro in which all I did was to delete the macros concerned - nothing was recorded. So a macro to remove macros seems to be out of the question.

These spreadsheets are held in a master folder on a server and are set as "read only". The users start the a sheet, run the macro (via a menu item which displays a selection form) and then save the resulting spreadsheet as another file in another location. I am wondering if there is some way I can cut into this process and develop my own "save" routine.

Ensure All Command Buttons Are Pressed Before Exiting Userform

At the end of each field (text box) there is a submit button (command button) which needs to be pressed. When the user presses next to move onto the next userform I need a control in place that ensures all of the 'submit' buttons have been pressed. If not i want something to say, 'you have not pressed all the submit buttons'. At the minute I have a simple reminder message box before they move onto the next screen but i need this control to be tightned.

VBA Code To Copy Active Spreadsheet To CSV File

I'm creating an Excel template to reduce data entry errors on a file various departments submit with data, and have the VBA code associated with the spreadsheet close to done with one exception - restricting the active worksheet rows to just those with data to avoid having a number of rows with just comma separators. I can find the VALUE of the last active row (see code below,) but I'm trying to find the address of that last active cell, so I can plug that into my ActiveSheet.Range statement. Here's my code. As you'll see, I have the ActiveSheet.Range statement with hard-coded cell addresses. The A8 is the first row following spreadsheet headers, etc, but I'd like to be able to substitute a variable for the ending cell.

FileName = ActiveSheet.Range("B4").Text
'Code to find value of last active cell

Once the user has selected their desired cell, they press a button and the macro runs.

Occasionally a user will press the button without selecting a cell in the proper column.

I would like a message box to pop up to tell the user "Please select an account in Column A" and bump the cursor (active cell) to A2 so at least it's in the right column to help get them started.

Copy Workbook Containing Code Without Macros

Sep 10, 2006

In a workbook with several worksheets i would like (as part of a backup function) make a copy of one of the worksheets.

The code of the complete project is distributed over a module (module1) and several Microsoft excel objects ("thisWorkbook", but also in a number of the worksheets (e.g. in "sheet3 (Risk Management Plan)").

The backup copy of the worksheet (in this example also containing e.g. the Microsoft excel object "sheet6 (Backup of Risk Management Plan)" should be free of any macro code. this to avoid unintended problems by inexperienced users, but also to keep the file size limited.

Probably it would be possible to copy the worksheet without of copying also the code. Or it would be possible to strip the code only from this particular worksheet without influencing any other code, forms, ... . Or, perhaps, there would even a totally different approach.

I use Windows XP pro Sp2, and Excel 2000 Sp3.

Place Code Behind Userform: Active Control Colored

Feb 23, 2007

I have created a user form and I am trying to get the active control colored. I am using the code from Mr Excel's VBA book - starts on page 454, and I have entered all the code, but now when I activate the user form I get an error ....."Compile Error. Invalid attribute in Sub or Function." and when I click OK, it takes me to this line of code.....

Private WithEvents objForm As clsCtlColor

In the book, this is where I am supposed to start entering the code "behind the userform" rather than in the class module. So, I assume this means that this code goes with all the other code for the user form (in VBA project click on form, then view code). Am I wrong? Should I be adding a module? Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Here is the code I have in the class module....

Public Event GetFocus()
Public Event LostFocus(ByVal strCtrl As String)
Private strPreCtr As String

Public Sub CheckActiveCtrl(objForm As MSForms.UserForm).......

Macro Code Only Works If Specific Worksheet Active

I have some code that works perfectly when it is run from the VB Editor but when I put it behind a command button it gives me an error almost straight away. I have read that when a command button is used the command button defaults the active sheet to the one that it is one therefore you always have to specify the active sheet but I have done this so am still confused as to why it is falling over. Below is my code, I have commented where it is tripping:

Workbooks.Open Filename:="H:Risk ReportingDaily TemplatesDaily Non Banks LIVE.xls"
Dim myBorders() As Variant, item As Variant

Security Prompt Even After Deleting Macros Using VBA Code

Dim count As Integer
Dim i As Integer 'loop counter
On Error Resume Next
count = ActiveWorkbook.VBProject.VBComponents.count
For i = 1 To count

awcl = awi.CodeModule.CountOfLines
awi.CodeModule.DeleteLines 1, awcl
Next i
Set awi = Nothing
ThisWorkbook.Save
Application.Quit
End Sub
*************************************

However when I open the Excel File, I still get the Macro Prompt. I have checked in Macro list as well as in VB Editor and no Macro code exists

If I have the file manually (or do a save as) and then reopen the file, I no longer get the Macro prompt.
