I am trying to do the following.
When Userform2 fires up - there is a textbox.
I would like the textbox1 to be filled by:
Taking the Selected or Active Cell in Sheets("positions"), eg, L5
but then finding the exact Cell match in Sheets("price"), eg, also L5
and placing this cells Value in Textbox1.
The 2 sheets are exact mirrors but contain different data.
I am attempting to format some TextBoxes from within a For/Next loop. I need a way to check which TextBox is the active TextBox in the loop. Using i as the variable, I came up with this code snippet: Me.Controls("TB" & i).Text = Format("TB" & i, "mm/dd/yy")
If i = 3, this gives me in TextBox3 (which is called TB3) the text 'TB3' and not the value of what is in TB3. It has got to bo something simple, I just can't see it!!!
I am working on a addin UserForm to quickly format cell text, especially only select characters in a cell. I have this functional in a modal setting working with the active cell when I activate the UserForm. What I would like to be able to do is to work in excel without having to close the Userform and have the textbox update with each new cell. I have changed the UserForm properties to ShowModal = false which gets the first half. However the textbox will only show the cell value I started with.

I am trying to add a button on my spreadsheet that will give the person Access to one cell only. The cell in its normal state is Locked. The cell is ALWAYS in Column F of a sheet titled Master. The button is located on the sheet titled Master.
The real problem may arise in that once the person has access to the cell and they make their changes I need that cell to return to being Locked and the sheet once again Protected with Filtering.
Does this make sense to anyone? Can it be done and if so any suggestions?
I have a macro that is intdended to run after the user has selected a cell in column A:A (any position except A1)
Once the user has selected their desired cell, they press a button and the macro runs.
Occasionally a user will press the button without selecting a cell in the proper column.
I would like a message box to pop up to tell the user "Please select an account in Column A" and bump the cursor (active cell) to A2 so at least it's in the right column to help get them started.
I have a sheet with 30 textboxes made with the drawing toolbar. The user enters data, then clicks on a button which formats the page to adjust row size to match amount of info. I am having trouble finding the code to store the currently selected textbox in a variable so that I can place the focus back to the same textbox when the macro ends. Can anyone help me with the code to get the active textbox?

I can mouse over the variables in the code and they have the correct values, with the excpetion of where they are listed in the functions. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, thanks in advance for any help!

I have over 20 Userform which have one textbox with the same name txtsejobcode1.
Additional I have a UserForm in which user can search for a needed job code.
I wanted that after a user will choose a job code the job code will be added in to the active userform with the textbox named txtsejobcode1.

I need to use the Textbox ControlSource in some forms to read specific data from worksheets, different source sheet for each form. How do I tell the ControlSource to look at a specific cell in a specific sheet, rather than just the active sheet? I want to do this using the properties of the Textbox rather than VBA.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a userform with a textbox and a command button. I have used data validations on the textbox. Clicking the command button saves the data in the worksheet. It works well if the user hits tab, enter or down arrow key after entering the data. The problem is, the textbox validations fail to get executed if the focus stays on the textbox and command button is pressed. I want the command button to be disabled until the user has moved the focus away from the textbox -there by executing the validations!

I have got stuck on one piece of my code and having trouble fixing... Overall I am trying to find variable station name in cell L2 of Sheet 2 in Sheet 1 and then select and copy the data from the data in "cell L2 of Sheet 2" to the last entry of that row. I have attached an example test spreadsheet of the data and a macro is within Sheet 1 called test1. Please note that cell L2 in Sheet 2 will always be different station name and the station list in Sheet 1 will change with differing station name.

Is there a way without using code to have the text in a text box (excel 2003), copied to another cell or another text box on a different worksheet?
I have information in a text box on 1 worksheet. I would like this information to automatically be copied to another worksheet. On the master sheet, if any of the information gets changed or updated, the copied information should get updated as well.
I have created an excel worksheet that will provide budgeting and estimating tools for my project managers. All data used to be manual entry and took a good while to complete. I am trying to automate the process with VBA.
I created a UserForm called InfoVerify1. On that form I have TextBox 1 - 10. When the UF opens, the boxes display project information from my worksheet called "Basis of Estimate", also known as Sheet26.
The TextBox1 ControlSource is set to "E4". When I run the macro with Sheet26 active, the proper information fills in. However, when I am on the Start page or any other worksheet and I run the macro, it tries to fill in the text boxes with E4, etc, from the active sheet. I tried changing the ControlSource to "Sheet26,E4" or any combo thereof with only error messages.
how to get it to refer to a cell on a particular worksheet and hold to that worksheet no matter which sheet I am on at the time I run the Userform?
I searched and found a couple of different active.sheet codes but could not get it to work. What I want to do is move the worksheet tab I create in the code below all the way to the end (right) of the worksheet tabs already in my workbook.

The reason I am removing all the code is because I am running code from my personal library and the code changes the worksheet I am working with.So while stepping through I noticed it moves over to the sheet change sub routine from the active workbook that I am working on.
So I tried to remove all the code from the Active workbook but after I remove all the code it returns a expected end of sub error, where the old worksheet change sub was? but no code is in the entire workbook? So I tried to enter something in the blank sheet mod and it returns a (Cant Edit Module) error.
I need something that will exit all macros currently in place. The reason i am asking for this is because i have code that uses Application.Run to run another macro within the current code. If the other macro called on in Application.Run has a msgbox which has an OK/Cancel option, i want the Cancel button to exit all macros, not just the one that is used to access the message box via the Application.Run.

I'm creating an Excel template to reduce data entry errors on a file various departments submit with data, and have the VBA code associated with the spreadsheet close to done with one exception - restricting the active worksheet rows to just those with data to avoid having a number of rows with just comma separators. I can find the VALUE of the last active row (see code below,) but I'm trying to find the address of that last active cell, so I can plug that into my ActiveSheet.Range statement. Here's my code. As you'll see, I have the ActiveSheet.Range statement with hard-coded cell addresses. The A8 is the first row following spreadsheet headers, etc, but I'd like to be able to substitute a variable for the ending cell.

I have a workbook with about 12 worksheets within it. I am trying to input a button on worksheet 3 that when pushed would activate worksheet 12. Basically the same as if you clicked on the tab at the bottom of the screen called worksheet 12.
I realise that you have to create a button which Ive done. However I cannot seem to figure out the proper macro code to get the button to change the current worksheet when its pushed.
i need a code to hide the sheets tab from the workbook. and only show the horizontal scroll bar and vertical scroll bar.

I am using the code from Mr Excel's VBA book - starts on page 454, and I have entered all the code, but now when I activate the user form I get an error ....."Compile Error. Invalid attribute in Sub or Function." and when I click OK, it takes me to this line of code.....

In the book, this is where I am supposed to start entering the code "behind the userform" rather than in the class module. So, I assume this means that this code goes with all the other code for the user form (in VBA project click on form, then view code). Am I wrong? Should I be adding a module? Not sure what I am doing wrong.

I have searched the FAQ's but have not found a suitable answer to my problem. I have some code that works perfectly when it is run from the VB Editor but when I put it behind a command button it gives me an error almost straight away. I have read that when a command button is used the command button defaults the active sheet to the one that it is one therefore you always have to specify the active sheet but I have done this so am still confused as to why it is falling over. the macro mentioned below has been assigned to a combo-box form. I have 2 different datasets in the same sheet, they have the same headers (but named differently, myhead and myhead1) and the same adv filter criteria range (named as "dcrit") is applicable to both datasets. I am working with a VBA userform and several textbox's, setting SetFocus and or TabIndex doesn't leave the box ready to accept input and there is no cursor shown to indicate it is ready to accept input.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to add something to a spreadsheet. I want to do some Conditional Formatting but I am not certain on what the formula would be to accomplish it. I am putting the Cond Format in cell E5 and I need a formula to say: IF F5 AND G5 are BLANK then do the format I set up which is simply to fill the cell with RED. (.ColorIndex = 3)
The next portion of my problem is I need to revise my VBA Coding to check and make sure that there is not any cells in Column E that have the Formatting Active. This is the portion of code I need to alter. I have changed the wording of the message but am not sure on how to change the IF statement:
