View 3 RepliesI have two worksheets, and when the value in one changes I'd like the value in the other to change as well. Pasting a link doesn't work, because on the "Paste to" sheet I've applied conditional formatting, and it doesn't register a change event when it's a pasted link. I tried running a macro to copy the whole column and paste it on a change event, but that didn't alert the conditional formatting to kick in.
The "Paste From" sheet has dropdowns in column C. The "Paste to" sheet has corresponding dropdowns in column F. So, if someone changes the selection in C3 on "Paste From", I'd like F3 on "Paste to" to change.
Essentially I need to copy the first 8 cells in a row in one sheet (for example: A3:I3) when the word "Actuals" is entered into A3 from a drop down list. Then the copied data needs to be pasted to a another existing worksheet in the same workbook in the next available row. The data includes mostly values, but there is a formula in column H that creates a hyperlink out of the content in column G, friendly name in column I.
I am not stuck on the idea of having "Actuals" entered in column A as the trigger or change event and there will be times when a new copy/paste of the same data will need to be done more than once at a later date.
For further information, column B contains a serial number/productID number.

When the user Double clicks on a row, I want excel to take note of the row number that was clicked, then move to a different sheet and copy the row in the new sheet (Called "Data") with the same row number as the Target row that was Double Clicked.

The following code shows the bare bones which illustrate my problem. The routine runs whenever the user enters a string which begins "Frm1=" and contains exactly three commas.
My problem is with the MsgBox which appears if the ErrorHandler is reached. With the following code the MsgBox requires two clicks on OK to dismiss it. If I change Resume to GoTo it requires only one. Is this normal? Is there any way of dismising the MsgBox with one click? ...

I'm trying to use the Calculate() event in VBA, I have a column containing formulas but I would like the values that it displays to be real values, like when I special paste them as values, I do know how to do this in the Change() event with manual input but these are changed depending on other things. I tried a couple of things but none of them really worked.. This is what I have until now:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a workbook with two sheets. The idea behind the workbook is an Interview Guide to be used just before an Interview. For now my problem is this.
Sheet 2 "Competencies" is just data. It stores competencies with their associated definitions and questions.
Sheet 1 "Control Page" is the sheet where the questions will eventually go. The user (Interviewer) will input data on the first two pages which will include name of candidate, date of interview etc. but they will also select 5 Competencies from the already existing drop down menus on page two. From there as the selections are made I wish for a code to copy the corresponding definition on sheet 'Competencies" to cells lower down in sheet "Control page".
I don't see a place to upload a file as I have a sample of the sheet ready to go.
I have the following code in another workbook that is used to populate a cell on the same sheet based on input to cells in column 'A'.
Is it possible to modify this for the attached workbook to select a cell with data (numbers) on the Input Data sheet in column 'E', add text to the beginning, ('CG' in this case), and paste the result to the Import Template in the corresponding cell of column 'A'? I currently have a formula copied to dozens of cells in 'A' but since the number of rows for the Input Template is variable, there are usually cells in 'A' that contain CG but no corresponding data in the rest of the row.
Is this possible using code: Copy Cell A1 and Paste in first empty Cell down Column D. This would be connected to a command button. Both Cell A1 and Column D are on the same spreadsheet.

What I want to acheive is when I enter the date the money was received in 'B1' for 'C1' to look to 'A1' and paste that value (let's say 29). Tried all day to find a way of selecting text ( from several cells) on one sheet and then having it pasted into the textbox on another sheet. I have some letter written in a cell under a percentage, I would like to move the letter next to the % number.
Something like:

Now, not all %s will have letters in the cell underneath them, thus the above should only be done if there is a letter.
