I have found many posts similar to what I am trying to accomplish, but nothing that I have been able to modify and make work. I need a VBA script that will find a cell with the text data "Difference" and copy the adjacent (to the right) cell's data. I then need to find a cell with text data "Ops" and paste the previous data to it's adjacent cell.

1. Put a value in cell H1 (text and numbers)
2. Find a matching value in column A (starting in row 2), error message if the is not a match.
3. Copy the adjacent cell column B (rows vary) to the clip board. It would copy until it found the first blank row.
I have attached a scaled down version of the spreadsheet, the one I use has 100's of codes. I know some VBA but not much. I searched the forum but could not find anything.

i tried copying the data from html to excel. Then applied text to columns but i m getting incomplete names from this step.
My problem is how would i get the full name in one Column(Column B) & the emp id in the next Column (COLUMN C).Column A will have the data copied from html page. The length of the employee name differs. The only saving tip is that the employee name will suffix with sno like

I get the error message 'Application defined or object defined error' when running the code below. I should indicate the range counter currently indicated about 6,200 rows that this code will work on and the individual range names in the list of 6,200 rows are spread over at least 20 worksheets.
The code appears to be running but after some time it stops on the line of code 'Range(Cells(i, 1).Value) = Cells(i, 2)'.

What I want it to do is to start in cell B1 and look down until it finds a non-blank cell; copy the contents of that cell. I then need it to go to the same row Col A and go down from until it finds the first non-blank cell then paste into the corresponding cell in Col B. It should continue this way through the rest of the worksheet. There is no set pattern to say to go down 5 rows or such. Also the number of pastes in each step is variable from 1 to ??
In my worksheet, the first non-blank cell in Col B is cell B3 and the first non-blank cell in Col A is A7. The paste should occur in cells B7:B10 because the next non-blank cell in Col A is A11.
I want to find data from a certain point and paste this to a cell. My objective is to get all the data on too one row. This row is always 1 in col M called Run#. The find locations never change, just the data being copied always changes . Heres example,
In col K find FHBASC and look across to the right 3 cells in col N and copy.
Look in col M and find 1, paste above copied data into col GI.
Then move down rows to next FHBASC and repeat process until end of sheet.
If I can get a very basic simple macro to do this, then hopefully I can just re write to suit my other data.
I am using MS Excel 2000. Sheet1 is my working sheet. Cell A17 displays the current date (dd/mm/yyyy). Cells B17:K17 display my summary figures for that day. What I would like is a macro button that would look at the date in Cell A17, and if it is the first of the month …. eg 01/03/2005 it should insert a new sheet into the workbook and put the name Mar05in this case or what ever month it is on the tab. It then copies Cell A17:K17 and pastes the data in to the corresponding monthly sheet starting in A3 to K3. Because my working sheet (Sheet1) is updated with different data daily the new summary data (always in A17:K17) needs to be copied and pasted under the previous days entry in the corresponding monthly sheet. For the month of March I should end up with 31 entries giving me a summary for that month.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a data sheet with employee information. Only one column. It prefixes information with codes, but keeps it in the same cell. I want to move data of certain types into their own columns, but the amount of data is variable, so I cannot simply move every Nth cell, etc.
i.e.

G38 00005000 (i.e. Pension Deduction)
H38 00007580 (i.e. Benefits Deduction)

So you see some employees may have different codes altogether. But I know that I want all the cells that start with 200 to be offset (-1,1), and all the cells that start with 204 to be offset (-1,2), and so on so that basically I end up with columns of info instead of a one column list.
I have been reading and studying other peoples' macros, and am just starting to grasp the basic. When I wrote my own to accomplish this, I put this together, which doesn't work. But I don't know enough to know what I don't know.

Let's say sheet - "delivery" - has a row1 that includes all possible delivery days. So A1 is 1.9.2013, B1 is 15.9.2013, C1 is 1.10.2013 and so on.
I want to make a macro, that will gradually go through whole row 3 in sheet "delivery" and look for "A1" date in sheet "Orders". Sheet "orders" have for example in column B the date of delivery, and in column C product of the delivery.
I want the macro to find all deliveries with "A1" date, and paste all products that will be delivered on this day under cell A1 (sheet delivery). then move on to the cell B1 (sheet delivery) - find all orders in sheet orders, that will be delivered on B1 date, and list all products with this delivery date under cell B1 (sheet delivery).

I am trying to work out some code that will allow me to search worksheet2 to find the last filled cell in column A.

I'm trying to create a macro that can lookup values down a list, find that value within another list and copy the adjacent cells.
The values to look for will always be on the same column and the values to look into will always be in the same range or columns but not always in the same row.
For example.
AI:AI contains a list of ID's which will be manually input every day so they might have a different order.
C:AF has all the data to look into. C always being a list of ID values and I want for every ID found on AI:AI to be search for on C:C: and then once a match is found, I need specific adjancent cell values to be copied next to the ID found on AI.
The values that need to be returned are found on columns B,D,F,G,H,I,J,P,AF and they will always display on those columns.
I've been doing this based on vlookup and INDEX/MATCh formulas but I've come across some limitations for something I want to develop further so I'm trying to do this based on VBA.

I am trying to complete these steps:
Take a value from AK59 from the "EQF" tab in a file called "QuoteMaster.xls"
Use that value to find match in column "A" in a Seperate workbook "ITMSTR.xls" on the "Sheet1" tab
Offset to the right 1 cell of the found value, take back to the "QuoteMaster.xls" and put in cell "AN59"
My code comes up with no errors, it opens the file and closes is as shown, but it doesn't copy the value over for whatever reason...
Basically I have three columns in a work Sheet F, G, & H. F is empty, G contains text and column H has both text and numbers.

How can I find out what row or cell address that the VLOOKUP found the data? The above code works perfectly but the problem is I need data from that same row in columns 4-11. I replicated the .Cells line above and made each one a VLOOKUP (for column 4, 5, 6, etc...) but this kills the performance. I have around 32,000 rows in sheet 0MATERIAL and around 50,000 rows within sheet 0MAT_UNIT

I am looking for a formula that can automatically calc (B3) to 106 (based upon cell A3) if the cell has a value of (*out*).
I found a macro that searches a column on each worksheet and copies the searched for value to another worksheet but. I would like to modify this to copy the searched for value and the next 10 cells in the row but I am not able to figure out how to accomplish this. Looking to find 1 of 2 words in a cell in column B and return the word found in the same row in column E. This seemed easy but I am not having any luck.
the cells in column B have several words in them but I am looking for 2 specific words "PLAT" and "ORIG". If the word is not in the cell, it should show a blank cell in column E in the same row, otherwise one of the 2 words should be in that row in column E. A VBA loop would be ideal but a formula that can do it might work as well.
I have a file that the user selects and when they enter a value (in this case, a job title) into the input box, my macro looks for the value in that file. If the value is there, a msgbox pops up that lets the user know that the value was found and it then goes to that cell, displaying in the next msgbox the cell address of where the value was found. I already have the code down for this part of the macro.
My problem is what happens if the file has the same value more than once. Ideally, I'd like to display a message box that returns the addresses of both cells with the same value and then prompts the user to select one of these values as the value they are looking for. I am not sure if a msgbox or a msgbox and then an input box are most appropriate for this situation. Once the user does this, the macro continues. The rest of my macro is built on the cell where this value is, so it is crucial that I make sure there is at least one value selected. Any help is much appreciated. I have included a sample worksheet of what this situation might look like.

I am trying to clean up and simplify my macros by compartmentalizing frequently repeated commands. I like to search for text in column headings and define the cell containing it as a range that I can later use .column or .row commands on, so my macros are a bit more flexible.
