i have a table with year and day in rows and months as columns. I'm looking for a formula that will look up a number in that table based on the date given in colP and put the number in Q. See example.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn the annual table tab, I want to be able to select a sales person or other field, and create a table that will pull data from all the tabs. For example, if I select the salesperson Kelly, I want it to pull all of the data from January, February, and March, and compile it into a table.
I would want the table to be dynamic also - I want to be able to quickly sum/average all of that salesperson's sales for all months.
I don't know where to begin or if this is even possible. I have report that I need to format.
See example file. Note: real file has 2000 rows.
The book date and book amount in the orginal is the POS date and POS amount in the format sheet. I don't need the "over/short" data from the original. Col. A contains store #'s and they are 2,3,or 4 numbers long preceeded by an "S-". In the formatted sheet I need the "S-" removed. The data is grouped by column C. 3 of the same equals 1. Groups vary.
I have two tables: the 1st table consists of date range (From and To) and week number while the other table has only dates.
Example:

Need simple formula that would show a wk number in the 2nd table (2nd column)? I.e 03/28/2009 has wk no. 14, etc.
I have a pivot table created. How do I determine which sheet it is pulling the data from, hence the source of the pivot table? Also, if can you go into source and modify data points, then in pivot table, will the results would be automatically modified with updated data points?

Then cut and paste it to Excel, you see the data is now vertical. I need the table horizontal as it appears on the website.
I threw together some sample data, just to test things out. It's very basic, one table of "Customers" and another table with the 50 US State's and their corresponding abbreviations. In the "Customers" table, there is a column of state abbreviations, and in the "States" table there is a column of state abbreviations as well. I have a relationship set up between these two in PowerPivot.
Each "Customer" in the "Customers" table has a unique "User ID". In some states, there are multiple "Customers" (User ID's).
When I try to pull a PowerPivot Table off of these tables, it's showing me all the states as being associated with every user ID. It looks correct if I just pull in the "States" column and the "User ID" column from the "Customers" table...

But as soon as I drag in the "Full State Name" column from the "States" table, it screws up the PowerPivot Table and shows all the state names being related to the state abbreviations, and all the User ID's as being related to all the states. (This isn't the full image of the table, only part of it, since the full image would be too large).

I'm used to doing everything with VLOOKUP's, and seldom used PivotTables at all in the past. But it was my understanding that these new PowerPivots would eliminate much of the need for VLOOKUP's.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been having issues with some excel fields not showing up in my pivot table pull downs.
For example I entered the date 6/8/97 into a field in my database and after I hit refresh on my pivot table that specific date doesn't show up in the Date field list pull down. It is like the pivot table doesn't even see that date and/or it is recognizing it as another date. I have this same issue w/ other field lists (eg. last names).
I have the following data :-

The thing is they are inconsistant in stating the dates. such as "09/03 10AM" or "9/3 10AM" or even sometimes "9/03 10AM".
Can this formula be altered to accept variables

I have a data table that contains begin dates, end dates, and colors. The data is input starting with the earliest begin date. On a second worksheet, I have a listing of the years starting with the year of the first begin date and ending with the end of this year. I need to be able to pull any color choices associated with a year from the data table on the first worksheet. Some years may not be specifically listed in the data sheet as the person could have had the same color choice for several years. Sometimes a person could have more than one color choice in a year.
I am at a loss for how to get to the data I need. I created an example spreadsheet to demonstrate the data I am working with, and an example of what I need my results to look like in the end.

I have a file that samples performance on a cpu. The output shows the sampling date and time in column A. This column changes depending on how long I run the file. No matter how long the column, I only want to pull out the sample date and time 20 times. So if I had data in column A with 300 rows, I want to divide 300 by 20 and pull those 20 numbers and put them in column B in chronological order. Same thing if I had 4000 rows in column A, I only want 20 samples.

So I've got a vertical list of dates in M/D/YYYY format, and I'm trying to come up with a method to pull certain dates that are greater than a given benchmark and paste those values in another column. For instance, if I've got a list with 3/3/2008, 5/5/2010, 6/6/2011, and 7/7/2012 I want to pull only the dates beyond 12/31/2010 (so would be the 6/6 and 7/7 ones).
I'm assuming this isn't doable with one formula, so I would need a macro. But I'm having trouble just even coming up with the logical operator for just one date. I must be doing something wrong here. If my date in B2 is 1/1/2009 and I have a formula as IF(B2>12/31/2009,"True","False"), I just get TRUE, which shouldn't be the case.

In cell U24 I have this formula:
=SUMPRODUCT(($E$3:$E$2000=51014)*($F$3:$F$2000=101)*($K$3:$K$2000))
Currently, as you can see, this is summing up the criteria specified from row 3 to row 2000...(which i made the last row 2000 becuase I will never exceed row 2000 with info)
What I am trying to do is in cell T22 and U22 be able to plug in date ranges and make the above formula give me the sums of thos date ranges.
For example in T22 put in 8-1-11 and in U22 put in 10-1-11, and have the sum of that date range populate in cell U24.
Now ther kicker is this: some dates are repeated so I may have six rows of date 8-3-11....and they will have to be part of the sum total.....and ALSO the dates are not in chrological order....I may have six rows of 8-3-11.......then four rows of 8-10-11.....then maybe another three rows of 8-3-11, and so on and so on...this is for all dates. Sorting the dates in order is not an option.
I am trying to make Excel pull data out of a closed file based on a date range. The closed file is a log where people input data and enter the day they are doing it. I need to pull this data in my file and make it print into my worksheets so I can pass a report on to others with only the data they request from the log.
The range would be for 7 days and would have to be able to choose a few columns off this report.
I have data going in to a small table which has some empty rows as that data is not yet available... My problem is, I need to sort this table in date order but with the date nearest to today's date at the top...
The sort function puts oldest at the top or oldest at the bottom which is no good for what I need...
I use xl 2003.
I need an IF formula, that states if a date is more than a month after the date in the cell then it is timely and if it isn't then it is not timely. For example the date in A1 is 12/11/05, if the cell is A2 is 13/12/05 (or any date after that) then A3 should read Not Timely, if A2 is 12/12/05 (or any date before that, including a date before the date in A1) then A3 should read Timely. Is there any way to do this?? At the moment I am having to go through manually and put in either Timely or Not Timely.

I have WorkbookA that pull numbers from WorkbookB. In Cell D2 of WorkbookA is the name of WorkbookB. The data to be pulled from WorkbookB is in Cells H364 through S364, H being data for January and S being data for December. In January, the data from Cell H364 is pulled into WorkbookA. In February, the data from Cell I364 is pulled into WorkbookA, and so on.
The formula can be written such that, based on WorkbookA indicating in Cell B14 the current month, each month pulls the correct month's data from these cells in WorkbookB.
