I have some excel files that contain data when I'VE finished entering data >> I saved it when I open the file >>> I FIND THE DATA INTACT .. NO PROBLEM BUT I FIND ALOT OF EMPTY CELLS THAT ARE USELESS I WANT TO DELETE THESE EXTRA EMPTY CELLS... SO WHEN I OPEN THE FILE I CAN FIND ONLY the data .

Delete Thousands Of Extra Columns

My production spreadsheet has thousands of unwanted columns and I am unsure as to how they appeared. I want to delete them. I have tried selecting all of them and deleting them, but nothing happens. I have tried go to > blanks, but it freezes because there are so many columns.

Also, I tried to copy paste to a new sheet, but the formulas get messed up.

For a mental picture, the spreadsheet is approx 225 rows by 25 columns.

Column A have data and i need VB Code (Not formula) to check each cell in column A and delete any spaces and make sure that there is no spaces after end of the text.

As an example you can see Cell cell A15 thru A22 have spaces after the text so need to delete those spaces

Macro To Save As CSV File With Extra Commas

I created a macro to save an active sheet as a CSV file. Two issues arise out of that effort. One is that I can't seem to get the environment variable right to allow any user to save the file to the root of their My Documents folder on their home directory in a domain environment. That way the template will work for everyone and requires no user intervention. Tried using the % with HOMEPATH, but I must somehow have the syntax off.

Secondly, the file being saved as a CSV file is creating a huge several megabyte file with empty lines of commas.

Output To CSV Text File Produces Extra Spaces

I'm outputting some cells to a CSV. At first I tried using the SaveAs function but that renamed my worksheet and didn't work for ranges (as far as I know)

The values are correct. However, the excess amount of spaces is not. Using the Write function just encases everything in quotation marks. Replacing spaces isn't a good solution because the first row MUST be in that format, and removing all spaces would require more code to put spaces back in. Is there a way to get rid of all the excess spaces surrounding each value?

I'm using =CONCATENATE() to create Html code.

Duplicate Excel Spreadsheet With Extra Data?

I am trying to set up a spreadsheet that pulls all the data from an existing spreadsheet on a networked drive. The spreadsheet on the drive gets updated occasionally by about 10 different people. I am trying to set up a duplicate of it on a local machine so that a single extra column can be added that no one else can see.

So far I am able to get the data from the spreadsheet using data connections, but it won't copy across the comments or any of the colour formatting. The colour is not as important, but the comments are vital. We use Microsoft office 2007 here, on windows 7 enterprise.

Excel Adds Extra Line On Some Files

I have a really strange issue on one machine. The end-user gets Excel reports emailed to him. When he opens certain ones, there is an extra space (almost a line without borders) on certain rows. This only happens on some of the files he receives

AND

This behavior is only on his system. On all other recipients' machines the spreadsheets do not have the extra space on some rows. It does not matter if he opens the attachment within Outlook or saves and opens in Excel from the save location.

I have tried resetting the defaults and that does not work.

I have headings across the sheet "Inventory" in cells E5:AA5 with further headings down the sheet D6:D40.Data Validation drop down list is in cells E6:AA40.I want to be able to place a number 1 or number 2 in any cell in the range C6:C40 in the "inventory" sheet and with a macro create 2 new sheets.Sheet 1 will contain all the headings which had a 1 in any of the cells in the range C6:C40 and sheet 2 will have all the headings which had the number 2 from the range C6:40.Both sheets 1 & 2 will contain all the headings from "Inventory" sheet in cells E5:AA5.The data validation drop down list is not required in sheets 1 and 2 but if "inventory" sheet does get updated that it also updates sheet 1 and sheet 2.... The 306% cell has (B2+B3+B4)/7.5 in it to get that value. I need to dump any access percentage above 100% into the next quarters goal. so 2nd should be 100 and 3rd should be 100 and 4th should be 6.67.

I just have a grid with a bunch of numbers listed and they all have one extra space at the end of the number. I have another tab with the same numbers but they do not have that extra space. I am using a vlookup formula and it is not recognizing the numbers because of the extra space. Is there some way to get rid of the extra space with a formula instead of going through job by job?

I am working on a contact information form for given relationships, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to design a button that copies the "form" (not an actual VBA form but a grouping of formated cells for information collection) and inserts it into the document. Excel 2010 :: Unable To Right Click For Format Cells - Insert Or Delete

Just recently My Excel 2010 has decided to not let me right click to format cells, delete or insert rows. I can do these functions from the ribbon, but not via right click. this happens in both existing spreadsheets where I am the author, or even a brand new spreadsheet like in the image below. we have restarted the computer, Uninstall and reinstalled Office and still get same symptoms. I got here thru google but cannot find an answer anywhere.

I am very computer literate and even our IT personnel have looked at this with no answer. as you can see in the image, these options are greyed out.

Running Office standard 2010, Windows 7 pro x64

I'm using Excel 2003. I've got two different .XLS files, each with multiple sheets.

I'm trying to create a macro which will copy a range of cells from one sheet on one .XLS file (which is closed) to a specific place on a specific sheet on the current .XLS file (which is open).

So for the sake of argument:

I've got two Excel files: C:ApplesOldFile.xls and C:OrangesNewFile.xls

OldFile.xls is closed -- NewFile.xls is open and in front of me.

I'm trying to copy the data in ranges B6:C41 and F6:F41 from Sheet2 in OldFile.xls to the same ranges on Sheet6 in NewFile.xls. There are no formulas in these cells -- just data (numbers).

I keep getting error messages, failures to copy to clipboard, etc.

we are working one a Huge database with two other partners. its players name for football clubs and we want to translate them to our langugae. b so one of my partners translated La liga player , and other Premierleague , and me Calcio . but players were sorted randomly . Later when we finished it we faced a huge problem . we couldnt paste all three translation in on file because when you past the cells in an excel file to another it pastes all cells together also empty once. when it paste empty once it removed the filled one too from previous excel file .

More declaration :

for example I filled cell number 1,3,5 and my partner filled 2,4,6 when we try to put 1,3,5 cells into my partner , we have to copy each sells alone and we cant copy all because it will delete , 2,4,6 cells

because its not 1,3,5 cells . we have 90000 cells

I have a spreadsheet where I want to require certain fields to be completed then I want to have that file auto emailed. I have learned that I do need to have the file saved before sending otherwise the data will not appear in the email, so with this I want to have the file temporarily saved emailed then the temp file deleted.

My Excel program (Excel 2010) currently has several columns and each column looks for and pulls data from a specific file on my computer. Then I need to delete any duplicate data entries, count the number of unique entries and track the changes through a chart. I have everything done except I cannot figure out (or find on the internet) a way to search in multiple columns (more than 2) and delete just the duplicate cells. I want to delete the cells in a way where there is one left. For example if the code 12gf is duplicated three time, I want to be left with one 12gf (it doesnt matter what column the original one is left in). Additionally, column length changes and they are not sorted. I have attempted to attach an image of an example file below.

I have a vba macro that takes data from one workbook and pastes it into another workbook. In doing this I have declared a few variables of type single (I only need two decimal precision). However, when I copy the values from the cells on the source workbook and paste them into the target workbook, the numbers end up having 12 decimal places. Ultimately, this extra precision causes my totals to be off by .01 or more after a while. Let's say I have 2 files: Source file and working file. In source file there are some text names in a column that are updated once in a while.

1. I need to create a column in "working file" such that is taking values from column in "source file" even when "source file" is closed.

2. It should take only non empty values, because I need to create a cell with validation list that consists of text names from the column.

Solving attempt: By searching some solutions in forum I found that the first part I can do in the following way: copy column from "source file", select in "working file" a "paste special" option and choose "paste link". It works, but the problem is that it imports all the column: if in "source file" the column consists of words "a" (cell A1), "b" (cell A2) and all other cells in A column are empty - in "working file", after linking, it appears as "a" (cell A1), "b" (cell A2) and all other cells in A column are "0" (zeros) till cell A65536. And I need that in "working file" column after linking will appear as "a" (cell A1), "b" (cell A2) and all other cells will be empty, so by setting one of cells in B column to be a list (by "Data" - "Data validation" - "List" ) - it will consist only from "a" and "b", and not from "a", "b", "0", "0", "0", .... (65534 zeros).

Save Excel File To CSV With Blank Cells With Formula Without Getting Commas?

I am working on a excel file that has a sheet that i want to convert to .csv. The sheet has formula's for the first three column that are warped an if statement that returns "" (blank) if certain conditions are not meet. However when i got to save the file as a csv i get a file with ",,,,,,," where there is no data. I would like to save csv and have only commas where this data.

Example
When i convert a sheet like
Firstname Lastname Password
Tim Cats Bo3n9x

it saves as
Firstname Lastname Password
Tim Cats Bo3n9x

In the .csv file.

Is there a way to protect the conditional formatting of accessible cells in a protected sheet.

Detail: I have a protected excel sheet. However some of the cells are made accessible so others (my secretary) can fill them up. The accessible cells have conditional formatting which become nonfunctional during pasting from other sources if "special paste" is not used.
