i have this formula, and i think it will work if i find a way to correct the blue areas. they are trying to define the match array. i tried using the address and cell functions with no luck. i just want the array to return something like B2:B15 (from the AXS sheet) so the match function works. in the current sheet, C8 and C9 have values that refer to rows in the AXS sheet
i have a 2D array of numbers (7 columns x 30 rows which doesn't change size nor place in the book).
I have the address of the "starting" and "ending" cells of the area I need to sum (often in more than one row) squeezed between other tables which must not be part of the calculation.
My array is H42:N72, in H42:H72 I have numbers 15,14,13....0,-1,-2,-3, etc...
In N42:N72 there is a corresponding $ amount that I would like to return based on finding the value which is greater than 4.7 (so, looking to match the $$ amount to the number 5 in column H42:H72)
I've tried using INDEX MATCH but can't figure this out.
Application.ScreenUpdating = False Dim c As String Dim d As String
[Code]....
this works perfectly but I have found one problem, I want excel to find on the existing arrays "0,00" and "0", only full match and not only partial like for example:
-154.09, which triggers "0" for the second array and 120,00, that triggers "0,00" how to I change to only find full match with the existing arrays?
I am having a problem defning arrays in VBA when they are on different sheets. When I do a step through the code it stops when I define an array which is not on the active sheet. Sub MMULT_Test()
Dim wArray As Variant, xArray As Variant, yArray As Variant, zArray As Variant Dim Fn As Object Set Fn = Application.WorksheetFunction
a = Sheets("Inputs"). Range("G33") b = Sheets("Inputs").Range("G34") c = b - 1
I have to separate reports. The first report lists the address in 5 columns (house #, Street, City, State, Zip), and the second lists it all in one column. Right now I have to manually check the second report against the first report to see if any of the addresses match. I do this daily, and it's rather time comsuming.
I have a worksheet of customer data which includes full postcode / zip codes. I have a separate sheet where postcodes are listed. I would like to use the postcode list worksheet to find any address matches and then create a new worksheet of the filtered addresses (to include duplicates if found). Have attached a zip file of the spreadsheet data as an example.
I have an address list of 64,000 entries that I want to geo-code (the geo-coding isn't the problem...). A large % of addresses don't have street numbers and this just gives a general position based on the Post/ Zip code which isn't accurate enough - it needs to have an actual street number. I want to extract all of the addresses without a street number so I can cross check them with something else (not an Excel problem). Trouble is some of the street numbers are embedded in a string - might be a multiple NOT problem. Attached a sample file...
Say I have 3 columns of data: A1:C10 and I want to run a Match() function on them all together to see if I get a match any one those cells, say the value of have in X1.
Since, Match only allows a One-Column lookup array.. is there a way to "concatenate" or "append" the 3 columns together within a formula so now I would be looking to Match in an array that is 1 column * 30 rows?
Basically want to convert =Match(X1,A1:C10,0) to =Match(X1,A1:A30,0) without moving around the raw data in the sheet.
And I want to avoid doing an AND or OR formula that uses 3 separate MATCH() for each column.
I have a hunch that the MMULT or MMULT/TRANSPOSE functions are involved, but can't seem to get it right.
I have an worksheet that I import a csv into, each day a new csv is added to the bottom of the previous csv data. I have some code that extracts the date and month # from the cell and places them in helper columns. The code find the last used cell in the helper column and the imported data column to find the first and last row of the new day.
This part works fine. However, I assigned a variable name to the first and last variables and would like to uses these row number to define a range in order to use the range for a vlookup or find operation. This is where I get stuck. I want to use column x and row (variable from first bit of code) to column y and row (variable from first bit of code). Then use a vlookup/find whatever works to find the text I need and get the data. Tips on looping the code would be welcome as well.
I have searched for answers to the problem, on the board and web, but have not found a solution that works for me. (at least that I could get to work!!)
Below is the code as I have it
Public Sub Enter_Date()
Dim DateA As Date Dim DateB As Date Dim Cnt As Integer Dim End_of, Beg_of As Integer Dim Count As Integer Dim NumtoFill As Integer
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) Application.EnableEvents = False If Target.Count > 1 Then Exit Sub If Target.Column = 1 Then If Target = "" Then Cells(Target.Row, 3).ClearContents Else: If Target.Value = "test" Then Cells(Target.Row, 3) = my.Email.co.uk End If End If Application.EnableEvents = True End Sub
Basically, my target column is column A, i have 200 employee numbers, now we have to find the email addresses manually which is useless so i want to spend the time writing some code like:
If the target column is 123456 then the offset column D is email address If the target column is 654321 then the offset column D value is email address.
I have 200 statements like this ill need to add unless anyone has any suggestions, perhaps select case structure?? I dont really know where to start an so i await your replies.
I have a document which is full of HTML code. Please find attached. I have copied the information into an excel document and I need to find Twitter addresses i.e @test123 and place these in a separate column.
I have a simple list of about 4 hundred addresses. Like most US Address, they all start with a street number, for example 1234 Main St. What I would like to do is have a cell where I can type some of the address, maybe just the number itself, and another cell with search the array for all possible matches. So if I type is my criteria cell 1234, I will ahve a result cell that displays 1234 Main St. And if there are multiple address witht he nubmers 1234, such as 1234 Main St. and 1234 Poplar Grove Rd. and 1234 Bennington Ln then I would like for my result cell(s) to display all possible matches. Does anyone know an easy(ish) way I can do this with formulas?
It works until I exceed the MATCH character limit of 255 characters in the range with text. I have tried many alternate formulae found on various posts, but not one that suits my purpose. Is there a simple ISTEXT or another function/formula that will work here?
I have a huge database. I am looking for a macro that can search for a particular word. If a match is found, the macro should do two things simultaneously... (i) delete the contents of the cell in which the match is found........(ii) display the same contents 1 row below and 1 coloumn to the left of this cell where the match is found. For e.g....
I'm trying to find an exact match to a cell and not xlPart of it, but not sure what the syntax is, (Always where can I find a list of the properties?
Code:
Set Ran2 = Worksheets("TicketsList").Range("B8:IV200").Find(Count, lookat:=xlPart) If Not Ran2 Is Nothing Then CallRow = Ran.Row CallCol = Ran.Column End If
I have a col of dates that change, 9/15, 10/15, 11/05 and reside in col. I I then have a corresonding cell in row I136, M136, Q136, U136, Y136 and AC136. I want to find the starting at the earliest date starting in I36 , M136, Q136...
So I136 would be updated to 9/15, M136 = 10/15, Q136 = 11/05, ...
I am thinking a CSE type formula would be a possibility, but need assistance in this or in a piece of code..
I have a data table, called Table1 in Sheet1. In a simple form it is
Customer ID Comment
A asdf
B jkl;
So in VBA, I need to figure a way to give me the cell address of the matching cell in Comments. So say Customer ID starts at A1 ... that means the Comment for Customer A is B2.
In cell A1 I have a number. I want a formula that looks at that number and then looks at row C on sheet2 where there are rows and rows of numbers. I want the formula to return the nearest match to the number in cell A1.
I've scoured the internet for this answer and have not found a formula that works.
I have a list of domain names/URLs in column A of workbook 1:
jhjh.com hajfh.co.nz 123.123.12.12
I have a list of domain name extensions in workbook #2:
.com .co.nz .net
I want to determine if the cells in column A workbook one contain any of the strings in workbook 2 - note that I need to look at the string, not the entire cell in workbook one. If there is a match, true, if not, false for that cell within workbook one.
It's sort of a reverse array lookup with text. It seems that cross workbook and text is what causes the challenge.
I am trying to loop through column A and I want to store in an array where I find "App" within the cell value. I am trying to find "App" but will store the whole cell value in the array. I could not figure out the Find method, so I tried the MID function but am having no luck.
Here is my code:
Code: Sub Arraytest() Dim arr As Variant, lastrow As Long, i As Long, f As Long, l As Long f = 0 lastrow = Sheets("Sheet1").Range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row ReDim arr(1 To 1, 1 To lastrow)
Working on an export from an e-commerce application that lists the item purchased, unfortunately not by item #, but rather a lengthy description. I'm trying to construct an item number based on that description which contains several constants.
Each item ordered appears in a single row, comprised of ORDERID, QTY, PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
I have several tables to pick out PRODUCT TYPE, COLOR, SIZE, etc. I need a formula to search to see which of the unique values appears in each in the cell and return the shortcut of that value.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION example "Sweater - Blue - Large - Wool"
TYPE TABLE: Sweater SWTR T-Shirt TSHT Jeans JEANS
COLOR TABLE: Blue BL Green GN Purple PL Black BK
I would have separate tables for each part of the description.
The formula I'm seeking would search the PRODUCT DESCRIPTION cell for the range of values for each 'part'. So it would search to see which of Sweater, T-Shirt, or Jeans was in the cell and then return the one that was - SWTR in this example. I would modify this formula for each 'part', in its own cell, and then use an =cell#&"-"&cell#&etc... to combine these returned values.
I know I can write a large if- chain using ISERROR & FIND, though some of these lists will get lengthy.
How can I modify the following formula to find the contents of reference cell, for example if the cell reference (G$3) is equal to 9 I want it to use 8 instead.
I have a large database of equipment on one sheet and an input form on another. For inventory control, when a user scans a number into the input form, the main inventory sheet is updated with the current location. I have it working using functions, but I need to do this in VBA. I am looking to do the following;
User enters 2222 on the input form. The code matches 2222 on the inventory sheet, moves the activecell 10 columns and updates a value in that cell. Cell A2343 is "2222" then Cell K2343 is changed to "WAREHOUSE 4". What is the best way to find the match and then select that cell in VBA?
