How To Setup Running Number In Single Cell

example, in sheet1, B12.
already have workbook already coded. which in sheet1 is just a table to record transaction into other sheets. after clicking "keep" button (this 'keep' button already customized/coded) it will updating the particular chosen sheet.
i would like to make a running number in sheet1, b12, and right after clicking the "keep" button it will generate a new number. example if i want the running number start as 6500, i will become 6501 after click the "keep" button

I would like to sum the values entered into A1 each time i enter a new value into A1 and to place the grand total, of all values entered, into A3 ? This is as long as the sheet1 is activated ?
i tried with Event (Change/Selection change), but could not get a result......................

I am creating a spreadsheet for inventory use. I want to have a running total in (1) cell based upon a new/different number being entered into a different cell.
Column B, Row 1 (This will be a new/different number entered every day - inventory in or out, so positive or negative number) Column D, Row 1 (This will be a running total based on numbers inserted in previous 2 columns)
Basically what I have is a key inventory. So there is column A with key number, B should be keys IN, C should be keys OUT, or ideally B would be IN and OUT meaning, for inventory IN input a positive number and for inventory OUT input a negative number, and D Should be total.
Column E represents number of keys currently in the inventory. I was going to hide the current inventory column so all you see is IN/OUT and total. So what I need is to be able to just come in and type in a number in the IN and/or OUT column, without having to add/subtract it with the number already in that column.
Bottom line, I'd like to be able to use IN and/or OUT columns to just type in numbers as they come and not have to worry about what's already in those columns and get correct total number.

Is it possible to have numbers added to the same cell and have excel continue to calculate the addition for me in that same cell......ex: I have the number 8 in cell d2 and I want to add the number 8 to that cell and have excel add the 8 to the previous 8 for a total of 16 in the same cell.....the next time I would add 5, and the total would be 21? Can this be done in a single cell?

I have been trying to find a macro that would allow me to keep a running total in a cell by adding a number to that cell and the same cell would display the sum of the numbers entered. {i.e.} If cell a1 has 0 in it and i click on that cell and put 3 in it would display 3 if i added 2 to it it would display 5 and so on. I need it to do this for about 182 cells on one page.I found this macro that runs automatically every time and works great......But only for one cell so far..."D3"...Ugh!!! I need this macro to work for the following range of cells "colums d thru j from row 3 down to 28 in each colum. Each cell is an individual. There are 182 cells total that each need this macro to work ...all on one page

As you see the macro includes cell D3 only, I have made several attempts to include more cells but have failed.... I tried like this

I have tried ....If .Address(False, False) = "D3:J3" Then
and I have tried ....If .Address(False, False) = "23Rx7C" Then
I can make it work for cell d3 but not the others. Will I have to repeat this code for every cell?

I am trying to setup a number of cells with a validation list allowing "Yes" or "". I would like the cell value to equal 1 when "Yes" is selected. Is this possible without VBA?
The reason for this is because I want to set up conditional formatting with the tick, cross, exclamation mark icon set (With a tick appearing for "Yes"), but this conditional formatting only works with numerical values.

I am attempting to count up the sum of names that will be submitted, through a web form, in a single cell.
Example:
Cell B1 will have a bunch of names submitted to it. let's say 10: Marino, Elway, Namath, Montana, Manning, Brady, Romo, Bradshaw, Favre, Aikman. (these text strings will be all in one single cell)
I will have a list of names that are correct to compare to: Montana, Brady, Bradshaw, Manning. I can put those in its own cell to compare to. (C1)
How do i get the sum of 4 from B1 cell? If B1 only has 3 of the 10, how would it return the sum of 3?
Example:
A1 B1 (Submitted cell) C1 (List to compare to "right answers") D1 (sum from B1 compared to C1)
user 1 Marino, Elway, Namath, Montana, Manning, Brady, Romo, Bradshaw, Favre, Aikman Montana, Brady, Bradshaw, Manning 4

I had some number combinations as this 5-23-34-233, 50-233-34-45, 34-5-23-45-67. The length can be variable in column A.
I want a formula which should return array of numbers of each cell in column A. So if A1 has 5-23-34-233 so the formula should return array like {5,23,34,233} and like wise.

I am trying to read a value in cell A1 and make say cell B1 read the same. The data in cell A1 is a real time percentage value that gets updated every lets say 10 secs. Every time the data is updated the new value goes into the next cell A2, A3, A4..... and so on. Every time it gets updated (i.e into A1,A2,A3,A4.....and so on), I want to read the new value each time in B1.

I'm trying to set up a dependent cell (B) based on what is in the independent cell (A)
If A is blank, B should be blank
If A has any value other than X, B should display a set string Y
If A contains X, B should contain a drop down list with a range of choices.
I've tried setting it up as a dependent validation cell and I've tried using OFFSET, but the best I can do is to get three different drop down lists to populate cell B. One with only string Y, one with only a blank, and one with the range of choices. The problem is in the first two cases above, I want the cell to fill automatically with either blank or string Y -- I don't want them to just be drop down options, with the cell displaying the last value that was input.

The If statement line gives me a 91 error. Simply right now i'm trying to allocate several squares in the sheet to be cells that when clicked will copy to your clipboard automatically. I can do 1 range easy but now i need to make it a little more advanced.

I have a PO Template, which I use it to issue Purchase Order and keep track on monthly purchases.
This PO template allow me generate a fresh PO with feature of auto "Name" which is the running number for the PO.
However, i have a problem to generate the reference number in the sequence which tirelessly seach a way to work this out.

Is it possible to display both the current code line number and the total line count of a macro while it's running?
I was thinking it would be handy for a progress indicator if the ProgressBar max value could be set to the LineCount total of the procedure and each line of code would increment the progressbar as the macro ran.

I would like to take a date and reduce it to single number. Eg.
Reduce the day to a number. Reduce the month to a number. Reduce the year to a number.
Add the 3 together. This gives you a number.
Reduce this number to a number.
e.g. today's number date 30 / 03 / 2007
Day is 30
Month is 3
Year = 9
Sum of these is 15 which reduces to 6.
3+0+0+3+2+0+0+7=15
1+5=6
Basically 9 is the highest number. The number 13 would be 1+3=4 and so on. The idea is to return a single number between 1-9.

I have in my cell a number, namely, 5260007005020024100055040300004110000000
What I would like to do is extract a set of digits from it,
Starting from the second 2, and shown here in the dots. I need all of the numbers in a separate cell, "52600070050200 .24100055.. 040300004110000000"
Hope this is clear. bearing in mind the number will remain as one so I would need to start at 14 then using LEN or something I'm not sure, extract the following 8 into another cell.
