Is there anyway to turn off hyperlink. Everytime I put in an @ symbol in the cell and hit enter, it changes it to a hyperlink and changes the font and size. Is there anyway to turn this off or prevent this without having to click on the cell everytime and choose, remove hyperlink.
I did a search 'cos I assumed this was so trivial it had to be out there, but couldn't find anything.
Have a row where one cell contains
= SUM(D3:D5)
How on earth do I specify the formatting so that if none of D3 to D5 contain any data, then the summed cell should show blank rather than (as it does) 0,00 ??
(FYI - am creating the SUM Formula via a VBA macro if that is relevant)
I have about 10 pivot tables that only have one Pivot Field Item Selected (i.e., Jane Smith) with dates as column fields and a sum for data items. Everytime I refresh the pivot tables and there is a new person in the data tab (which is the data the pivot table is referenced to), the new name populates in the pivot table. I am sure I could include all of the names in one pivot table, but there is a long explanation why I only keep one name per pivot table in this particular workbook.
Attached is an example. As you can see, when you refresh the pivot table, the new name (Jason Smith) which I added to the data tab, will be included in the pivot table.
I am trying to figure out if there is way either with VBA or without VBA to prevent all of the pivot tables in the workbook to not select any new Pivot Field Items when I refresh the pivot tables.
I Spoke too soon here, I am getting value errors, how to do it with conditional formating. I tried if cell value is =to #DIV/0! then white (dosent work). Richard this dosent seem to work mate =IF(SUM(F6:V6),"",AL6/SUM(F6:V6))
When I am saving my spreadsheet as a text file, I have 1 column with formulas that I would like to not show up in my text file. I have tried hiding the column, and have Googled for awhile now.
I have developed a spread sheet that when I click on a dropdown list I can picka certain item and it will show several colums of information. I want to include a hyperlink that is stored in the vlookup range in one of those colums. It will show the text in the link when i use the vlookup to see data however i cant access the link from this cell.
I want to establish a link from my worksheets. Using the conventional link method I was able to link the values from my first worksheet to the second worksheet. My problem is when I delete a particular row. The reference of the second worksheet will have an error #REF! since I deleted those cells. Is there any way that I can link my two worksheets without any error that even if I deleted a particular cell/row the reference is still intact?
I'm working with text boxes in Excel that have hyperlinks attached to defined names on a worksheet. Basically just to navigate around a large sheet.
They work fine, but when the mouse is hovered over the text box it automatically displays the address of the defined name, which looks messy and I want to get rid of it.
I have tried inserting a single space in the screen tip box, but that displays a small rectangular box. I have also tried "" hoping nullstring maybe interpreted as not to display, but it instead displays the speech marks.
Has anybody done this before? I've seen it done, but I have no idea how the model creator did it.
I have a workbook with a template worksheet. I can generate new worksheets using the Template, and create hyperlink to the new worksheet (Let's call it "New"). However, if an user changes the name of the worksheet from "New" to "SomethingElse", then the hyperlink breaks. How do I get the hyperlink to be automatically updated to "SomethingElse"?
I have this code that looks through my worksheet once the conditions are met it will email, and in column "M" I put a hyperlink to where the document is stored. All works as far as the email format, even grabs the hyperlink but it’s not clickable in the email.
Here is the code.
I am outlook 07 and vista 07.
Option Explicit Const Startingrow = 11 'Data starts on row ## Const AlarmDelay = 183 'send warning Sub CheckTimeLeftFac() 'References needed : 'Microsoft Outlook Object Library
Dim i As Long Dim j As Long Dim msg As Long Dim Lastrow As Long Dim WhoTo As String Dim SubjectLine As String Dim MessageBody As String Dim olMail As Outlook.MailItem Dim olApp As Outlook.Application Dim strLink As String
I have hyperlinks betwene one worksheet to another - they only only hyperlinked thourh column & rows (eg: A100) etc. How can I lock these hyperlinks but still allow users to insert new rows without losing their place?
I am having a slight problem copying hyperlinks. I have written some code that sorts data by date and then creates a simple diary. It originally placed the name of the event in the new diary sheet. What I would like to do is instead of copying the name into this new sheet copy a hyperlink that I have created to the company's website for that event.
I can create the hyperlink using hyperlink(B1,A1) where A1 is the company name and B1 is the web address but since the new sheet will not have the underlying data I need to actually copy the values and format of the hyperlink rather than the formula.
I have a tab within a workbook where i want the user to copy a different spreadsheet into and then press a macro button to run some code, however after this button has been pressed i want this one tab to show any changes that have been made to it, i.e make the cell red or something just so i can keep track of manual adjustemnts.
I am currently having an issue with the formula below showing a zero when there is no data, now i am referencing from this cell to another sheet but even with the IF(ISBLANK inside the formula on the other page it still shows a zero which is messing up what i am trying to do on another page.
I have a cell that contains the =Day1!G4. It reveals what is on another worksheet, but I want to be able to have the next cell be: =Day2!G4. Is there any way that I can code this without having to physically type in every cell? I tried, =Day1+1!G4 but it didn't like that.
The formula that I came up with perfectly works well with clear values. Everytime there's a #NUM!, #VALUE! in my array, the result I want wont show up.
I am creating a spreadsheet system for storing school grades, and I have a sheet on my system which shows graphs of the students data, and on this sheet there are rather a lot of graphs, and its sort of a visual overload to see so many graphs on one sheet. Im just wondering if there is any thing which I could insert which would give the person using the system a choice of which class's graph they want to show.
I can't get the zero's to show up in the part number formula in the wooksheet. Also how do you get the zero's to stay when you type numbers such as (03,04,ect.) the zero always disapears. I need it to stay as a number and not text.
I placed an add-in (.xla file) with a " function" and a "sub" into C:Microsoft Office XPOffice10Library. When I go to Tools-->Add-Ins the Add-In doesn't show up. When I browse the file it says it already exists and still doesn't show up. The strange thing is that the "function" does work, but the sub (which is a sub worksheet_change) doesn't run. I also tried doing the steps as they are laid out in http://www.ozgrid.com/VBA/excel-add-in-create.htm and ended up with the same problem. The function works when I open up a brand new Excel application and use Book1, so I know the function isn't embedded in the sheet.
I have a vlookup that I have almost working but I'm a little stumped my the last bit. the formula I have is this =VLOOKUP(J4,AW:AY, 3, 0) and the only issue I have is that if there is nothing in J4, then I want nothing to appear in my vlookup cell, but it is currently showing #N/A.
Why the value is showing up as 0. I know it should be 4 but it is returning the value 0 when I run my code clean through. When I step through the code using F8 it shows up as 4 as long as I am on the tab where the worksheet is. Why my code is returning a 0.
VB: StartRow = 5 Dim CountX As Integer Dim LastRowX As Range CountX = 0
I am using dglinfo with if statements, and I know that the spreadsheet is updated but the only way I can show the value in particular cell is by hitting the fx. Is their a way to show all the values at once instead of going cell by cell?
I have a spreadsheet gathering information on vehicles. One of the pieces of information is a 'Date Off Strength'. For the vehicles still on strength I have the symbol '#N/A' showing,, this is linked to a sheet using a VLOOKUP formula, is there a way to stop this symbol showing
I have to compile spreadsheets as tables of various values. One column in particular is a column of ID numbers and the worksheet is very very long. I need a method for checking this one column for duplicate ID numbers.
I am entering text into a cell and as soon as I go over 241 chars, give or take, the data turns to a row of ####'s when I get out of the cell. Help says the limit is 32K and I have wrap text on. What am I missing? The data displays OK when the cell is current, but goes away when the cell is not . When I preview a print I have the ####'s. I am using Excel 2000.
