Print The Worksheet On Different Paper Which Requires To Go Into The Properties And Change The Paper Source From Automatically Select To Manual Feed
Jun 30, 2006
When I hit the print button the worksheet prints on the paper in the bin. However, there are times when I need to print the worksheet on different paper which requires me to go into the properties and change the paper source from Automatically Select to Manual Feed. I have been trying to created a macro what will switch to Manual Feed, print the worksheet and then switch back to Automatically Select but have been unsucessfull.
I got a workbook with one active sheet. There are 6 colums and 55 rows. I want to creat a macro or formula to automatically print each individual row on a single sheet of paper. i will only need the line with a specific value printed i.e only print value more then 5
Pretty straightforward: randomly and infrequently, Excel ignores my selection of the rear tray paper source on my MX870 Canon. Able to correct issue only by closing out and re-opening Excel.

I would like the "Finish Summary by Age" tab worksheet to look like the "Nursery Master Sheet" and "Circle K 1 - CD Farms Nursery" tab worksheets. I'd like the "Finish Summary by Age" tab worksheet to cover the majority of the paper like worksheets on the other tabs.
I have 2 colums that represent the height and width of a paper edges. And now I would like to find a formula (somekind of an IF?) which would calculate automatically (taking account the values in these colums) which of these 2 measures make together ISO paper sizes A0 (84,1x118,9), A1 (59,4x84,1), A2 (42,0x59,4), A3 (29,7x42).
I am currently using a sheet of paper and tallying events. By tallying, I mean placing a small vertical line on the paper, then after 4 vertical lines, I place a diagonal line across the four. At the end of the month, I add all these up. I would like to make a spreadsheet to replace the tallying, but am not sure how to do it. Is this possible? I am beginner to intermediate with Excel and use 2003, but can switch to 2007.
I hold some data in the Excel 2007 file. It's about 400 rows and about 10 columns. On occasion I have to print some values from this file. But it has to be in defined position on the paper. It is like I already have the prepared paper with fields, and I just have to fill some fields on the paper with data from the columns. Is it possible to make a program that will take each row that I label for printing, and print just some columns but in a defined position on the paper ?
I am looking to have the Cells that I have applied a Dropdown List to update with the changes that I make to the list itself.
Example:
If I were to validate a list with a range of a1:a3 using "Bob" "Sarah" "Bill" and then apply that list to B:B and randomly select from the three names running the length of B:B, I would want that when I go back to A2 and change "Sarah" to "Linda" that every "Sarah" that I have selected using the drop down will update to say "Linda"
I hope that I am explaining myself clearly and in a simple context.
I have an Excel file that I believe was a template, maybe from MS. It's a loan calculator. Anyway, whenever you change the interest rate or number of payments it somehow knows to only print those rows - even though there are formulas in many of the rows beneath the print range.
I am making custom time sheets to suit our agriculture business - these excel sheets get sent out to the different farm managers who send back in staff times.
This code below is brilliant and works perfect for our needs. However I need to be able to emailPDF the sheets not print. How / where do I change code so the selected sheets go to Save & Send via email as a PDF instead of going straight to the default printer .( hard copy )
VB: Option Explicit Sub SelectSheets() Dim i As Integer Dim TopPos As Integer Dim SheetCount As Integer Dim PrintDlg As DialogSheet
The below code opens up the printpreview window. This does not allow to select the correct (or change) printer it will automatic use the default printer.
Is there a way for the code to open the print window so I can change the printer and select number of copies?
Code:
Sub Print_Button() Dim ws As Worksheet, cell As Range Set ws = Sheets("main") Set cell = Range("g2000").End(xlUp) Do Until cell.Value "" Set cell = cell.Offset(-1, 0) Loop ws.PageSetup.PrintArea = ("A2:" & cell.Address) ws.PrintPreview End Sub
I am fairly new to macros and have trouble with VBA. I have a file with multiple worksheets. Each worksheet contains the name of a specific location in cell A8. I want this name in cell A8 to be the name on the worksheet tab for each worksheet in my file but do not know how to accomplish this. Is that even possible?
It is my general understanding that the change event system within Excel vba is fairly particular as to what will fit the mold of a qualifying change event.
For example, changes that the user imparts to the worksheet and other written code are legitament candidates for change events. However copying down data and cells changing their values indirectly rather than directly may not be considered in the Microsoft change event design.
I would like to know 2 things:
1) Does a cell updated by a market data feed mechanism qualify for a change event?
2) Any list of qualifying change event types. It seems that Microsoft does not have this information.
I am using the following code to copy the contents of a DDE feed.
Code: Private Sub Worksheet_Calculate() Worksheets("Sheet2").Range("A1").EntireRow.Insert Shift:=xlDown Worksheets("Sheet1").Range("A3:F3").Copy Worksheets("Sheet2").Range("A1:F1").PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues Application.CutCopyMode = False End Sub
What I want to do is only copy the row when the columns contain data, as it stands at the moment it's copying blank rows to sheet 2. Is there a way that I can do this?
I have a set of procedures that require auto recalc to be on to work correctly. I've tried application.volatile and Application.CalculateFull with no luck. I'm trying to put together code that makes sure recalc is on, but that first determines the current recalc status and then changes it back to Manual when necessary. I don't know how to determine the current status. The following code should work if the red sections are fixed.
Sub TempAuto() Dim CurrentState As unknown CurrentState = Application.Calculation status Application.Calculation = xlAutomatic If CurrentState = Manual Then Application.Calculation = xlManual End If End Sub
Using Excel 2010: I have 2 rows (A4:J4 & A5:J5) selected as print titles that I would like to be printed at the top of selected pages. Currently, my document is 3 pages long, and I would like to have the print titles only applied to the first 2 pages. More data will be added in the future on pages 1&2 but the last page (whatever page number it ends up being) should not contain the selected print titles.
I am trying to use the worksheet calculate event to automatically change the color of a cell only when that particular cell changes. In E2 of the worksheet is a formula use to determine rating based on the result of 2 other cells. The rating is classified as follows
Low Moderate High Maximum
I would like to generate a different set of color to the cell and fonts for each of the rating. For example,
"Cyan" to the cell E1 and E2 with Black font if the result is "Low" "Plum" to the cell E1 and E2 with "Black font if the result is "Moderate" "Blue" to the cell E1 and E2 with "White" font if the result is "High" and "Red" to the cell E1 and E2 with "White" font if the result is "Maximum"
I am trying to use VBA to change the caption of checkboxes in "Sheet 2" when I change the value of a cell "A1" in "Sheet 1".
This code is working:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)If Intersect(Target, ActiveSheet.Range("A1")) Is Nothing Then Exit Sub
Worksheets("Sheet 2").CheckBox1.Caption = "New Caption"End Sub
But there are 6 checkboxes in Sheet 2 and I would like to do something like this:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)If Intersect(Target, ActiveSheet.Range("A1")) Is Nothing Then Exit Sub For i = 0 to 5Worksheets("Sheet 2").Control("CheckBox" & i+1).Caption = "Box" & i+1Next iEnd Sub
This doesn't work.. So I guess the Control-function is wrong.
I am having a hard time setting the MultiLine, Scrollbars and WordWrap properties through programmation. Actually what I want my code to do is to create a set of textboxes in my spreadsheet and then set the MultiLine, Scrollbars and WordWrap properties. Right now I can create the boxes and rename them but I'm unable to change the other properties.
Is there a way that I can set a single worksheet in a workbook to always be on manual calculation, but keep all other sheet in the workbook set to automatic?
I want to be able to open the workbook, any calculations to perform automatically and then i will select the 'manual' sheet and perform these calculations manually. I also need to these settings to always apply each time i open the workbook.
i am trying to use a combo box to change the properties of a text box. i think i can do this by having it look at the cell link that i sent and then changing the text box appropriately with something like this:
I have 02 separate excel workbooks 01 = source file 02 = data list
The workbook "source file" contains all the data The workbook "data list" contains data for work with Drop-down list. And i can easily select my required description by just dropping down the list.
In case, i have new description i add it in the source file and it is updated in the working "data list" sheet.
This applies to Field device column also. But i want to improve the selection criteria by creating such script or formula which could check the input of the description and automatically selects the field device and its relevant signal (output type).
