ive already changed them to number format. then tried a1-b1 but i wont work. im getting value error. Cant use the add ins tool for now. fyi. any other formulas.
I have a table of data (total 142 rows). Column contains dates, in the format dd-mmm-yyyy.
I tried to filter using DATE FILTERS->EQUALS and in the custom filter window, I chose EQUALS then picked a date from the date picker icon. The date I picked was 5/4/2009 (this is May 4, 2009, formatted automaticall by excel as m/d/yyyy).
When I clicked OK, nothing showed up despite the fact that there are 6 occurences of May 4, 2009 (formatted as dd-mmm-yyyy in the data table)
So my questions are:
1. Is this due to the formatting?
2. Is there a way to change the date format supplied by the date picker?
I am now trying to create a excel macro to auto populate all the dates with reference to a start date and end date. The catch is that only working days are required in the range. My reference cells (start and end date) are in Sheet 1 while the destination cell range are in Sheet 2. The reason for creating a macro instead of a function is that the intervals between the start date and end date changes frequently (annual, semi-annual and quarterly) Best case scenario would be a button which I can just press after i input the dates to generate the range of dates in another sheet.
I'm trying to workout how to take a known initial date a repeating frequency and work out the next due date from today.
Example
Initial Date :- 1st of January 2014
Frequency :- every 5 weeks
Current Date :- 9th of March 2014
Next Due date should be :-12th of March 2014 (if I worked it out correctly from my paper calendar)
I want to use a cell formula to do this for different initial dates and varying frequency periods (the frequency will always be whole weeks i.e. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,8,10)
I need to create formulas that reference a single date and output date ranges. The objective is to have a person input a Monday date in any given month and receive a four weeks out worth of dates and ranges. For example: In a lone cell, the person inputs 10/13/08. Automatically, the sheet produces the next full week range: October 19 – October 25 in a single cell and also produces a cell for each date. Example: Sunday 19, Monday 20, Tuesday 21, etc…. It should look like:
and then repeat for three more weeks. I thought I had it figured out until the month changed. The dates continued in October instead of adding a month. This report will be ran weekly, so simply adding a +1MONTH to some cells will not benefit me as I’ll have to change the formula every week. I want the formula to compute the data without any manipulation over the next several years. The only change will be the Monday date.
I have data going in to a small table which has some empty rows as that data is not yet available... My problem is, I need to sort this table in date order but with the date nearest to today's date at the top...
The sort function puts oldest at the top or oldest at the bottom which is no good for what I need...
I am looking for a Formula that can process the following:
The Sum Target Value is variable e.g.; 147 I have two columns of numerical values: Column “A” and Column “B.” Column “A” Houses the Numerical Labels that I wish to have Returned when the Sum Target Value is processed /reached - Subtract Sum Target Value as noted below.
To Subtract Sum Target Value: Start from LAST non-zero numerical value in Column “B” and Subtract one Cell value at a time (or Sum up the Column) until the Sum Target Value or nearest possible Sum BELOW, the Sum Target Value is reached. In this instance, it is 147. I wish to Sum the values in Column “B” to 147 per the above. The summed values can be below BUT NOT over the Sum Target Value.
Return the Numerical Value that is Offset ONE Cell to the LEFT (Column “A”) and ONE Row Above LAST value Subtracted (in Column “B”) to reach Sum Target Value. The Result – Numerical Label should come from Column “A.”
Col “A” Col “B” 2003 2051 2105 21511 22010 22515 23016 23510 24011 24529 25020
Reaching the Sum Target Value of 147 in Column “B” would go up to value 26, Label 295 in Column “A”, totalling 131 which is below the Sum Target 147 but including the value of 31 above it, would exceed the Sum Target Value of 147.
The required Result is returned from Column “A” Label 290 which is ONE Cell to the LEFT (Column “A”) and ONE Row Above LAST value Subtracted (in Column “B”).
i have several styles to handle mentioned under different rows separately.
all the styles have their various raw materials inward date mentioned under different column of their respective rows from column Q to Y
now i need to 1. extract the latest date of any particular raw material which can be in any of column from Q to y columns ACCORDING TO DIFFERENT STYLES IN A Particular row automatically that is AC
i would like to use the formula "now()" to establish a date in a document. is it possible to lock this date to the initial date? (so when the document is created the date won't change the next day)
I need an IF formula, that states if a date is more than a month after the date in the cell then it is timely and if it isn't then it is not timely. For example the date in A1 is 12/11/05, if the cell is A2 is 13/12/05 (or any date after that) then A3 should read Not Timely, if A2 is 12/12/05 (or any date before that, including a date before the date in A1) then A3 should read Timely. Is there any way to do this?? At the moment I am having to go through manually and put in either Timely or Not Timely.
i want the values to come up without saying na and add up the total with only the values selected
problem = error comes up when values are entered, total only works when all the fields are filled in, i want it to work without all the fields having to be filled in
I need to compare the date from the user input and the date listed on excel. How can I compare it? Is it correct? lngCmp = Val( Cells(I, 31))
Dim lngBegin As Long, lngEnd As Long, lngCmp As Date, lngResults As Long lngBegin = 9 'beggining of data lngEnd = 232 'end of data lngCmp = InputBox("Please enter the date", "Begining of the week")
I'm looking to find a way to extract an email address an a reference number from an email receipt that i have extracted to excel. The problem is when I paste the information its pastes onto multiple rows and not a single row.
I'm using this formula to extract the email address and can do something else to get the ref number out however the results are on multiple lines which is not good to me.
[Code] ......
I have attached a document to show you how the data extractS on (EXAMPLE TAB) The information I want to extract is the stuff in Red. I then want the results to look like the Results Tab in the example.
I created an receipt template in excel. How can I have it increase the receipt invoice number by 1 every time I open this template? For example the first receipt is 100, I want the second receipt to be 101, and so on.
In the attached file, I want to have the user select a receipt # and have it copy the information, for that receipt from the log, to the receipt tab. Then I want it to print the receipt. The macros that are in the file already, were created before I added a column for Receipt No., and don't ask for user input. File is attached.
I tried to copy a date from Temperature & Humidity Reading file using the formula ='[Temperature & Humidity Reading.xlsx]Sensor 7'!$C$2 to Summary file
if the date format is like this 6/10/2013 12:00:00 AM the result is fine, but when i try to copy that formula for the succeeding dates the results is same from what i copied.
I have a workbook that I'm using to tracking staffing patterns within a mental health agency. When the workbook opens the user is asked to pick a date range and an office location. I've placed code into the userform that pre-fills the "start date" with today's date and the "end date" 7 days from today's date. I would like the user to be able to enter a unique date range should they wish but I have yet to figure out the coding to accomplish my goal.
I have userform with date pickers and have text boxes overlaid on these, when I select todays date from the date picker it does not display the current date in the text box (I have 8 date pickers on the userform). If I select another date then reselect the current date it works. It has occasionally worked but why.
Below is the code for populating the text box from the Date Picker.
Private Sub DTPicker1_Change() TextBox1.Value = DTPicker1.Value End Sub
The initialize userform code uses the following to format and set the textbox
In column A, I have dates; In column b i have security levels. I have made a table called "Security" it contains to columns, a list of security levels and no of years when each security level is required to be reviewed. the table is setup -
d1 e1 Restricted 5 etc
Example of data ie. a1 b1 c1 Restricted 1/06/2012 1/06/2017
What I am looking for is a formula to look up a1 "restricted". then lookup the security table and find "restricted" its value is 5 (years) then add the 5 years to date in b1, but place it in c1.
I have a list of ID# (Col A) and dates (Col B). The ID # of reference is Col (F) and today's date (Col G). I need to count how many future dates there are in the list (Col B) that are unique and in the future from today's date.
I'm still fairly new to all these formulas and functions which is why I'm not attempting this in VBA.
I've attached an example work book and I would like the result in H2.
I am trying to get the results of the number of days between today and a future date. I am using ="cell containing futuredate"-today() and it gets me the correct number of days. The problem comes in when I have yet to populate the future dates. I am getting -39991 (numeric value between today and jan 01 01) and because I am also using conditional formatting this is even more of a problem. Is there a way get excel to display nothing if it is a negative number? or to give a specified resut if the number becomes negative such as Expired or something of that nature?
I need a formula that will calculate the number of days from a date entered into cell A1 to today's date. Whether it's before or after todays date. Example:
I have a spreadsheet where we will be inserting the Arabic Hijri date taken from a Customs document (bayan). On my spreadsheet I'd like to have a column immediately next to the Hijri date that would convert the Hijri date to the Gregorian date so both dates will be visible for our Arabic and Western personnel who will be using the spreadsheet.
Trying to do a linkback from another post located here but not having much luck doing it: [URL]
I'm working with 2 date columns and trying to filter a view to only include projects with dates within 3 months of today's date.
I've attached a current working file of the data and the end result i'm hoping to achieve via a macro of some sort.
I've manually got it to work via formula by inserting 2 additional columns (highlighted yellow) which determine if the dates "YES" fall in this 3 month time frame of "" blank if not.
create a macro which does all of this automatically without modifying any columns if this is possible
I have a worksheet that has a sent date and expected delivery date I need create a macro that will alert me if today's date is within 5 days of expected delivery date.
I have two columns of dates, leave start and end dates (when people start leave i.e. annual leave). Would need to introduce column(s) to calculate how many days fell within the month including the end date and excludes weekends.
For example, if the staff on leave from 31st March to 6 April, i need to show that the number of leave taken as 1 day in March and 4 days in April.
