May 2, 2014I wan to set up an IF statement so that if the date in Column A is between 4/28/14 and 7/17/14, it will return "Q3" and blank if no date.

How To Setup Nested IF Statement To Compare Two Tables
Feb 27, 2012Desired output is to compare a value in one table to a value in another table based on the same values in associated columns in each table and produce a "True" or "False".
In each worksheet, the information should be similar but I want to compare them.
Worksheet#1 = "ABCD"; Column A = Lot#; Column F = "Defect T"
Worksheet#2 = "EFGH"; Column B = Lot#; Column R = "Defect T"; Column I = "Inspection level"
I want to find the lot # from cell A2 in worksheet "ABCD" in column B of worksheet "EFGH" AND column I in "EFGH" = "1st Inspection". At the same time, I want to compare the cell in F2 in worksheet "ABCD" to the value in column R that correlates to the same row where the lot#s match.
Is it possible to use a nested IF statement to match the cells?

Oct 26, 2009In column D I have an Expiry Date and in column E I put formula “=IF(D2<=TODAY()+90,"we have less than 90 days!!!","we have more than 90 days")” the formula works fine but my problem is I need formula if item have expired in column D its have to say in column E “ ITEM EXPIRED “ or something. I highlighted line in yellow below attached sheet.

Jan 6, 2012I'm working on a spreadsheet where I need to return the column header where the value in that row matches the criteria from an if statement.
The column headers are departments, the row headers are customers numbers, the values show the % of items sold in that department as a % of the total purchases by that customer.
I need to make a formula for each row so that if the % in any of the current row's values is 75%-100% then get the column header for the column that value is in.
I know it's an IF statement, but I don't know how to return the column header for the value when the if statement is true.
Setup Sumif Statement With Two Criteria Where If Second Criteria Is True
Nov 25, 2013I am trying to set up a sumif statement with two criteria where if the second criteria is true, the total in the sum range returned is divided by two.
I currently have this:
=SUMIF($G$6:$G$41,"digital",I6:I41)
I want to add in "digital/creative" as a second criteria (from the same criteria range) but I only want 50% of the result of these to be totalled.
is this possible?

Jun 17, 2009I have an employee expense voucher with a column that calculates mileage. I also have a column that lists what the mileage rate is. I'd like for that column to adjust based on the date of the transaction/trip.
Here's an example. Trip between 7/1/08 - 12/31/08 = .585 mileage. Trip between 1/1/09 - 12/31/09 = .405 mileage. If someone turns in a receipt for a trip taken on 11/13/08, I want the form to adjust the mileage rate to .585. Wasn't sure if this is an indexing kind of thing, or if there's an if statement I could use.
Match Date In Column & Return Corresponding Value
Jun 17, 2009I have used index/match before to match and extract data, but I can't seem to wrap my head around this one. It's probably best explained by looking at the attached workbook. Basically, I want formulas in 'John Doe!B' and 'Jane Doe!B' to look up the Name and Date values in column A on the 'Data' sheet, and then return the time value that is on the same row but in the 'Data!B' column.
I then want 'John Doe!C' and 'Jane Doe!C' to return the time that is two rows below the time shown in 'John Doe!B' - I've gone and manually entered and bolded the values in the workbook to show what I eventually want the formula to do. The data on the 'Data' tab will be extracted monthly into excel from tracking software my company uses, but there will always be a minimum of 3 rows of time for each date. As you can see in the example workbook, some dates will be omitted for some people, and while there will always be 3 minimum rows there will often be many more time entry rows for different dates as well. However, I'm only concerned with the 1st row and 3rd row for each date.
I was originally thinking a vlookup for 'John Doe!B' and then a hlookup for 'John Doe!C' that references the value in B might work, but I'm getting stuck on how to ensure the formula realizes the differences between the data and dates for John Doe and Jane Doe.
Return Count Of Cells Within Column Which Are Between 2 Date Ranges
Jan 16, 2013I want to work out how many cells in a colums are "equal to or more than AND less than or equal to" certain date ranges.
E.G. Column A has random dates from 01/10/2012 to 31/12/2012. I want to know how many of these cells have dates that meet the criteria of >=01/12/2012 and <=31/12/2012.
I have searched on here and found COUNTIF which didn't work. I also tried DCOUNT which I couldn't get to work.

I want to select the appropriate value relevent to the current date and use it elsewhere. Jan 9, 2013I have a rolling 12 month (each day in column) tab in Excel 2010 that references variances by ID number in column A, and the column headers are each day for 366 days (2011). I would like to create a tab that shows the past 10 day's variances by ID number. I haven't been able to write a formula that will look at the date headers and the row ID number to return the figure for that day. Here is a sample of the 12 month rolling and the 10 days at a glance that I want to populate.

Apr 4, 2008how to make the data look like a table with three columns. Other than the date, it is space delimited. I have a tracking spreadsheet where Column A is populated with dates for the year. Column C contains daily values.
I don't always start entering daily values on the first day of the year, e.g., this year the first value in Column C corresponds to March 9. All values in Column C are contiguous - there are no blank cells until the value in Column A is greater than today's date code. I would like to use a formula (rather than VBA) to look down Column C and find the first non-blank entry where the value in Column A is less than or equal to today(). In this case, the formula should return the value for March 9, 2008.

Apr 25, 2007Each row represents a call. If a call in column A equals "CW" and it has the highest duration (H:MM:SS) value in column B, then provide me the date (MM/DD/YYYY) for that call that is stated in column C.
i.e.
Column A --- Column B ---- Column C

CW ----------- 0:03:13 ----- 04/16/2007
CW ----------- 0:01:42 ----- 04/13/2007
Thus, the value that should be returned is "04/16/2007".
Return Null Value IF Statement
Mar 5, 2014I have 2 sets of criteria, column B and D, both are ranked in column C and E respectively.
Cell h2 and h3 have the minimum requirements so I essentially want to add onto the RANK formula I have so if a person does not meet the minimum rank cells will return a null value.

Feb 15, 2012I am working with data that has numeric values in columns S, T and U. In column M I want to return the header of the column that has the largest value (S,T or U).
Here is the formula I am trying to use:
=IF(OR(S2>T2,S2>U2),$S$1,IF(OR(T2>S2,T2>U2),$T$1,IF(OR(U2>S2,U2>T2),$U$1)))
The problem is that it only sometimes works properly. I have found instances where the value in column T is greater than S and yet column S's header is still returned. What am I doing wrong?

Return A Value In A Table Using An IF Statement
Dec 10, 2008I am attempting to return a value in a table using an IF statement, but without referring to other values in the table.
My first column contains price break quantities;

The IF statement should return a "Y" in the cell if the value in the top row is greater than the value in the first column, but only for the relevant price break, i.e. the column with 51 in the first row should only have a "Y" in the row with 50. This would be much easier if I could work out how to post the workbook!
The formula cannot refer to other row values (otherwise it would be easy), and cannot use VB.
So far, I have come up with;
