Sumproduct To Count Special Content From A Table
Jan 22, 2014
I use a sumproduct to count a special content from a table.
I have the country, a special key and the product.
I have different products like rismo 12, rismo 100, rismo 200.
But i want to count them all.
So i have the following function.
=+SUMPRODUCT(((ISNUMBER(FIND("rismo";E1:E1000))*1)*(C1:C1000=D2)))*((H1:H1000=60)+(H1:H1000=65)).
In the cells c are the countrys. In the cells h are the special keys. I am looking for the 60 and 65.
My result is always 0.

two formulas to search a range containing a unique 9 digit number which contain duplicates and then see if there are one of four values in another column.
Column A contains a unique SBI number(9 digits) and will be duplicated. In column E there are a possiblility of 4 other values which are read off a list. These are "Open", "In Progress", "On Hold" and "Closed.
SBI's Open
Need this formula to everytime it finds a unique SBI it goes to column E and count if any of the duplicate SBI's have Open", "In Progress", "On Hold" task and count it as an SBI which is still OPEN.
SBI's Closed
Need this formula to everytime it finds a SBI it goes to column E and count if any of the duplicate SBI's have only "Closed" tasks and count that.
There are duplicate SBI's because there are "Tasks which are listed under multiple SBI, so an SBI number can have 1 to ? tasks under it.
Want to basically count that all tasks under that SBI are closed if they are count it if not it's still open.
Have a formula to count the individual SBI already so maybe a only have the SBI closed formula and minus that count against the total SBI's to give the not closed SBI's ?
This formula is
=SUM(IF(A7:A2732="","",1/COUNTIF(A7:A2732,A7:A2732)))
If someone can tell me how without using a Pivot table as I have 260 spreadsheets which need this data and the pivot table takes too much memory.

I've got a spreadsheet with over 60,000 entries each with a different post code. I want to filter and then count to find the most re-occuring post code. However, I want to do this just on postal area, so I need to edit the info so the last 3 characters of the post code are removed, eg...
SE10 4BX
becomes
SE10
other than doing it manually is there anyway to just command excel to delete last 3 characters from my list?

I have a table with an identifier in column A and values in columns B to Z.
The structure is like this:
IdentifierA
value1
value2
value3
value4
IdentifierB
value5
value6
[Code] ......
There is 3.000 rows of data. As you can see some of the identifiers have no values.
On another sheet I need the following table to be generated in this format (two columns):
IdentifierA Value1
IdentifierA Value2
IdentifierA Value3
IdentifierA Value4
IdentifierB Value5
[Code] .....
Note that as IdentifierD has no values it shouldn't be in the new table.

I use the following formula to count unique values within a group for a pivot:
=IF(SUMPRODUCT(($CO$2:$CO55681=CO55681)*($E$2:$E55681=E55681))>1,0,1)
When I paste values over the formula it takes around 1 hours to do the 70k cells which is excessive. I want to know if there is a way to speed it up?
I tried doing an =cell and then paste special that and it works really fast but when I delete the actual formula's again the whole sheet locks up.

Column A has (say) 5 cells.
A1 = R, A2 = R, A3 = O, A4 = R, A5 = O
I need to count the Rs and Os separately
So column B ends up with B1 = 1R, B2 = 2R, B3 = 1O, B4 = 3R, B5 = 2O or at least B1 = 1, B2 = 2, B3 = 1, B4 = 3, B5 = 2 so i can later say =B1&A1 to merge them into what i need.

I'm working with a fairly large spreadsheet, and need to find out how many times a specific word or numerical value comes up in a column (for instance, I might need to know how many times 'Anderson' comes up in column B). Every time I try to use the sum, dsum, sumif, count, dcount, or countif functions, however, I keep coming up with either 0 or the #VALUE message. This is very frustrating, as you can well imagine. I could try to sort the data by the various terms and values I need and then physically count everything but this strikes me as time-consuming, prone to error (we're talking a few thousand entries, here), and something Excel should theoretically be able to do anyway if only I knew how to ask it.

I am working on a spreadsheet that will provide count of types of complaints for particular areas over a running time span. I have tried a multitude of formulas but not sure how to write any of them correctly. What I am trying to do is generate a count of area type by whether it is formal or informal. (i.e. I want to know if there are x formal finish issues vs. y informal finish issues and so on.) This information will get charted and be kept "real-time" user input.
Type

I'm trying to get the count of all cells in column F of one workbook that have a value of "RES" or "RET" and put that count in cell B2 of another workbook. At first I tried COUNTIF but quickly realized that it doesn't work when the other workbook is closed. I tried this, but it gives a REF! error:
Code:
=SUMPRODUCT(('H:Benefit BillingTurnover Reports2011[Turnover - termed thru 1-31-11.xls]site only'!F:F
="RES")*('H:Benefit BillingTurnover Reports2011[Turnover - termed thru 1-31-11.xls]site only'!F:F="RET"))
The workbook and worksheet referred to definitely exist in the directory in the path, and the F column has a mix of values including the two I'm looking for. Once I have a working formula, it will ultimately be populated into a large range of cells by a VBA sub (that part I can do ).

I'd like to use a sumproduct function to count 2 conditions. I want to add the number of times the number 0 is entered in Column D when a 1 is entered in the same row within Column C next to it.
I'm using the formula below yet its wrong.... it gives the answer of 7 rather than 1 (see data in attached file).
=SUMPRODUCT((C3:C124=1)*(D3:D124=0))

=SUMPRODUCT((INDIRECT("'"&$Z$1:$Z$7&"'!$K$190:$K$220")>0),(INDIRECT("'"&$Z$1:$Z$7&"'!$D$190:$D$220")=B22))
This is my latest iteration and there have been about 50 so far, none of which I can get to work.

I am trying to exclude unusable data from my analysis. I have flagged data in the flag column on sheet 1 by a "1". A "0" is good data. On sheet 2, I have counts for the amounts of a certain code per partner. I used a sumproduct formula for the counts, but now I want to exclude all data with a flag "1".

I have a document with the following data
1: NAME
2: DESCRIPTION
3: DATE "12/15/2007" format
I would like to know if anyone knows how I can perform the following. And please excuse me for not writing this very technically I am a bit lost.
if name = "JOHN" and description = "APPLE" count how many apples there are for john.
Now it gets complicated for me because the dates are as follows. Lets say it starts 1/1/2004 the next cell might be 1/3/2204, 1/6/2204, etc all the way to 2008. I would like to find a way to say
If date = day/month/year I would like to count the whole month instead of the individual days. am I making sence? Let me give you another example.
record reads "," represent cells
JOHN,1/2/2204,APPLE
JOHN,1/3/2204,ORANGE
JOHN,2/3/2004,APPLE
I would like to be able to come up with the following
JOHN had 1 APPLE in JAN 2004
JOHN had 1 ORANGE in JAN 2004

Ive started using the sumproduct function to count multiple conditions which is useful
howveer if i want to count those records in one column that meet a condition and those records in another column that meet anyone of a number of conditions how can i do that?
the only way i can think is like the below
=sumproduct(--((columnA=apple)*((ColumnB<>Red)*(columnB<>Yellow))))
Rather than having to eliminate red and yellow i would like to say is green or blue.

I have a requirement to count how many of a particular type of entry there are, this needs to be done in groups, e.g, counting attendance bonuses which are included in entries, F5,F6, F8 and F11, (i.e. in one cell i need to total how many F5's,6's,8's & 11's are in that row?!). i just cant quite seem to get the formula right to count them.

Column E is to be a count of how many times the break time in Column D appears.

I need a sumproduct to count response times in between 1-2 hours. The response times are calculated from an 'initial referral date and time' and a 'actual response date and time' (the difference between refererral and response time be across several days) and are in the format below:
Time between intital and contact
00:22:37
00:00:01

I have tried several different formula, but I can't get excel to recognise the time range I need. Its just the bit in red i need sorted.

i have a database of the kind:
Model Version Color Store
1 a zz HH
2 b xx QQ
3 c yy OO
4 d ww PP
I need to obtain in the y axis the model, and in the x axis the store.
The data per each model and store should be: the version and color.
I'm using Pivot table to do that, but i'm only able to obtain the "count" (or sum or other formula) but I'm not able to obtain the content of the cell.
Example:
Store HH PP
Model
1 Version a d
Color zz ww
2 Version b c
Color xx yy
