Total Days In The Month Based On Date
is there a formula that will say how many days there are in a month ?
B9 contains the a refrence to the first day of the month eg 1/7/2008 I want the cell above it (B8) to return 31. If the date reference is 1/6/2008 I want (B8) to return 30.
I'm using it to pro rata by the number of days in a month.

I'm needing a formula that will determine the number of days that fall in a specific month based on a date range. For example, if I have a date range of 10/15/2009 to 01/13/2009, I need the formula to determine the number of days in each month within the range (October has 15 days in the date range; November has 30, December has 31, and January has 13.) I have a large spreadsheet that would be so much easier to manage with such a formula. Currently, my spreadsheet is setup as follows. Month Following 90 Days From Date
I have 5 columns: Employee Name, Start Date, Probation Time, Probation Ends, Benefits Start. I want the Benefits Start column to populate the name of the month that follows the Probation Ends date. For example Employee A starts on March 16. Probation time is 90 days. Probation Ends is 6/14/09. The Benefits start date is 7/1/09, however I want this column to just say July.

Number Of Days To Add To Date Based On Weekday Of Date
I need to create a formula that states a delivery date when the order date is entered in an adjacent column. Items ordered on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be delivered the Friday of the following week, eg. ordered 23rd April 2008, delivered on the 2nd of May 2008. Items ordered on Thursday or Friday will be delivered on a Friday 2 weeks later, eg. ordered on the 24th April, delivered on the 9th of May 2008

Total Occurences: Formula That Shows The Total Payments Recieved For A Particular Month For A Particular Product
I have a report which has a list of customers, each customer has 24 columns which represent the payment history over 24 months. If a payment has been made for that month the date and time (formatted correctly) will be populated in this cell. Each customer has a product name attached to it so a product can appear several times. I need is a formula that shows the total payments recieved for a particular month for a particular product. For example. I have managed to create the following flag which works a treat, it picks up a date an account was set up but looks at 1 column.

Determine Days Based On Due Date
I am attempting to create a template to input specific dates. If a student submits an assignment on the due date, I have set up the spreadsheet to conditionally format whether the assignment was late or not. In addition, I have a column for when feedback is to be submitted and whether it was on time or not. My problem is this... I cannot figure out a formula or a way to determine: If the student submits the assignment late, when will the feedback be due? For example, if submitted one day late, the instructor has an extra day to submit feedback.Two days late is an extra two days to work on it etc..

Automatically Bold And Highlight The Current Month’s Total And Month Name
I have a spreadsheet for monthly supplies. In row 1 is Jan – Dec and in the row 2 below are empty cells where there will be a total for that month’s purchases. I want a conditional format formula to automatically bold and highlight the current month’s total and month name. Also, when I enter February totals next month and that number is input into February’s total, I want that month and total to bold and highlight BUT I also want the previous month’s bold and highlight to vanish at the same time. formula off here i use all the time relating to finding and sumproducts for specific months and years i.e. Jan 2008, Dec 2007.. depending on these dates excel searched through a specified range and returned me any values i wanted like No. of occurences, totals, sums etc etc it was a sumproduct formula... is there any way i could specifiy a date i.e. Jan 2009, which would search column a and return the date /and/or an account number in column b, only if the date was during jan 2009? The reason i want this is to use a lookup on the account numbers to return specific items of info, but i only need the account numbers if they occurred in specific months which i want to choose.

Update Day Of Week And Date Based On Month
I'm attempting to force excel to auto update the day of the week, and the date in a spreadsheet. The date isn't as important, since it can be hard coded. The only problem there is some months have 31 days, some 30, and another with 28. I've uploaded an image of the spreadsheet, and you can see in field A1 the date/year is input. I'm wanting to find a way to force the days/dates in fields 2E and 3E to update based on the month.

The Next 12 Month End Dates Based On Today's Date
I am trying to project the next 12 month-end dates, based on today's date. I can do that using the EOMONTH function ... see exhibit below ... present month, 1 month out, 2 months out, last month. However, this workbook must be sent to many people and many of those folks will not have EOMONTH functionality because that requires the Analysis Toolpak functions to be added in. How can I accomplish this using standard Excel functions? Sum Year To Date Based On Month Chosen, Rank Values & Compare Rankings
1. I would like to be able to select a month from a drop down ( cell C4), and for Column B ('Cumulative Performance') to reflect the sum for each name between Jan and the month selected. 2. In Column D I would like to rank the relative position of the sum total; such that if I selected 'Dec', John would display '13' in D7, Anne '3' etc. 3. In Column E I would like to show by way of a coloured arrow (or even a smilie icon) the relative change in ranking of the sum totals evaluated for my chosen month with those calculated up until the previous month (e.g. for Anne, if I select June, the Jan to June total is 36 (rank 2 in the June total's), the May to Jan total for Anne is 32 (rank 1), therefore her relative rank movement between the June and May cumulatives moves down and cell E8 would show a red-down arrow (amber horizontal for no change and green up-arrow for an improvement in rank).

Count How Many In A Month Days
I need to count how many in a month per day X number is =. I originally used Countif - =COUNTIF(B3,">25252525=36")+COUNTIF(V3,">=36")+COUNTIF(X3,">=36")+COUNTIF(Z3,">=36") The formula above works, but i end up with several long strings of Countif. I'd like to know if there is a way wherein i can use a shorter formula.

Break Down How Many Days In Each Month
I have is a start rent date and an end rent date. They want to break down how many days in each month the item was on rent so they have a column for each month. For example say an item was rented on 12/14/08 and returned on 1/12/09. It was rented for a total of 30days 18 days in December and 12 days in January. So I would need a function in each column that would return a 14 in the December Column and a 12 in the January Column. there are over 350 rows and they are doing the process manually right now and taking several days. Also I just noticed that the date range is currently entered as a text in the format 2008-12-14 so YYYY-MM-DD. Don't know if the text will be a problem. Just attached an expample. In it I am trying to find a function to fill in the green cells.

Count Days In Specified Month
I am using the following array to determine the total dollar of contracts reviewed in one month. =SUMPRODUCT(($C$5:$C$3002>$H18)*($C$5:$C$3002<$I18)*(D$5:D$3002)) Column C has the actual Date Column H the beginning of the month Column I the end of the month and Column D the dollar amount Now I would like to count the number of contracts that fall in the following categories in a given month. The minimum number is in Column N and the maximum in Column O. 1-499,999 500,000-2,499,999 2,500,000-4,999,999 5,000,000-12,499,999 12,500,000-24,999,999 25,000,000-64,999,999 65,000,000+ I can get the count for each category but am having difficulty with the count in the specific month. Does any one have any suggestions - other than a pivot table? I am attaching a small sample.

What I am trying to to is calculate the number of Years, Months, Weeks, and Days from one date to another. So far I can calculate years and months accuretly but I'm having trouble with the days and can't seem to figure out how to do the weeks. Date Range Formula: Beginning Of Month To End Of Month (which Is In The Current Row)
I have log data in two columns: Column A: Date/time (at 30 minute intervals) Column B: Numeric data On the last row of each month, I’m trying to perform a SumProduct on the two columns and display that result in column C. The end of the range is determined by the month in the current row. I’m having difficulty finding the beginning of the range, though. I need to account for both the normal dynamic calendar days & the fact that I may get data starting mid-day and mid-month. Cumulative Total By Month
I have a list of daily sales which I would like to have a cumulative total by month. Once the next month is encountered, the cumulative total will reset for that month again. E.g. (please see attached file) Column C is my cumulative total. The cumulative sum will reset when the month changes from Jan to Feb. I can achieve the results using VBA but I need to distribute my report to parties whose VBA environment is disabled. So, I need to work around this with a formula.

Calculate Working Days Left In Current Month
Is there a formula to calculate the working days left in the current month? I work in the financial services industry and am putting together a spreadsheet to automatically calculate sales production needs per "working day", based on my businesses schedule. We are open M-F and Saturday, not including holidays. Now, I can look at a calendar, count the days left and put them in to the spreadsheet, but I'd prefer to have it calculate automatically. On my spreadsheet, I have used the =TODAY() formula. In the cell below, I would like to have it calculate the actual working days remaining in the current month. Since today is Sunday August 19th, I know that there are 11 working days left (starting Monday 08-20-2007). Is there a way to get Excel to do that?

Summing Total Per Customer For Each Month
Please see the attached example. I am working with Office 97 and I know that if I had Office 2007 this question could be easily answered with the "SUMIFS" function. But since Office 97 doesn't have that formula I need to find another way to accomplish what i am trying to do. In the gray boxes I need a formula that will sum the amounts for each customer for each month. For example, the total amount that shipped to customer A in October is 180.4. I will be applying this to a much larger amount of data, so please do not provide a formula that only works for the data supplied in this example. I will be continuously adding more info to my list over time and I want the count to automaticaly include the data when I enter it.

Trying To Add Total Hours Worked In Current Month
I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with this formula. =(SUMIF(Q14:Q4995, "<="&EOMONTH(TODAY(),0),W14:W4995))-(SUMIF(Q14:Q4995, "<="&EOMONTH(TODAY(),-1)+1,W14:W4995)). I've got a cell that adds Total hours worked which pulls from the same column of entered data as the formula above and that cell works. My hours for the month however just shows up as zero. If I try and edit the formula or even just highlight it to copy it and then tab out of the cell this shows up... 1/0/00 If I undo the highlight and tab it will go back to showing zero. I've checked my dates that I entered and they are correct. I'm at a loss as to how to fix this formula.
