A layout has been made in a worksheet and content is added to some cells through Userforms (textboxes and comboxes).
1 Userform contains a big textbox and a "SEND"-button.
What I would like is to have a preview of the worksheet inside that textbox before they click send.
During this whole proces, the Excel -Worksheet is not visible (to prevent changes being made to the program)!
Userform Print Preview Pop-Up Won't Disappear?
Jun 19, 2013I created a macro that prints a label from a userform. The macro used to reside on an XP platform and performed without issues. IT decided they wanted to upgrade the machine to a Windows 7 platform. Now when the userform prints a small window pops up that looks like a print preview of the label, however it is transparent and has a window caption of 'Precut Label' as identified in the userform design. I am including a screenshot of the pop-up. The unusual thing about this is the window cannot be closed, moved or selected in any way shape or form. The only way to get it to close is to view the userform object in the vba editor. The line of code that triggers the print sequence as well as cause the pop-up is: frmLabel.PrintForm. This line of code is housed in the sheet1 object.

Aug 16, 2013I have created a USERform that requires a user to enter data on the form. The Form also has Text boxes that are used for calculated totals. The problem is that as I tab through the boxes that need to have values and input the values. The Calculated field do not get updated until I export the data to the worksheet. Which is ok but I would like to preview the form with the calculations prior to the export. How I can see the Form updated form priorto export I have included my code, when I click Private Sub CBTN_OK_Click() do I see the Form updated but it has already written it to the worksheet

Dec 6, 2012I have previously used the following code to successfully pull out IE webpage source code for string manipulation.
Its a crude example to demonstrate the principle:

However when I substitute in a Google websites address into the IE.Navigate command, the code runs to the "Source_Code = IE.document ...." line then flags up a Microsoft Visual Basic error. "Run-time error '438': Object doesn't support this property or method"
The webpage that I am trying to access is a confidential company site, so you won't be able to access it yourself, but starts with [URL] ......
The one thing that I have noticed about this website is the Privacy Report icon in the lower right status window (Picture of an eye with a restricted symbol in front). I don't know whether this is the cause of my problem, or purely an incidental observation.
Is there something peculiar with Google sites that means that the source code cannot be extracted in general, or is this an issue specific to my site ? Does the Privacy Report icon have any relevance, and if so how do I switch that off ?

Mar 2, 2009It takes a specific sheet & range, uses publish object to create a HTML version of this sheet then launches the IE browser to display this to the user.
Issue:
Under Windows XP, Excel 2003 & Excel 2007 this works OK. Under Vista & Excel 2007, the HTML preview file is not getting written - I get an error when IE browser tries to display this file. Error: Can not find "Print Preview.htm"
Anyone run into this on Vista? Is this a permissions issue with writing the html file? Not sure why this exact same code works under XP and not Vista.

I would start with making a sub that takes a string (the address) as an input parameter and finish with saving the source code of that address as an text file like c:code.txt

Jan 16, 2013I have received several hundred "Excel" data file dumps from an unspecified corporate database ( SAP? ). They are nominally spreadsheets, that is they are tables of mixed data that Excel recognizes, as they are exported from the database as such.
I'd like to walk a directory containing these files, and only these files, open each in turn save them as proper Excel files and close them. The end goal is to import these tables into a Access database, but Access doesn't recognize them either. I also need to repair values in one field which is easier to accomplish in Excel.
Unfortunately, opening the file generates an error I've been unable to trap, due to the fact the excel thinks its an HTML file, which it is, and wants me to verify that I do want to open it. Similarly, I receive a message when I try to save the file that requires me to nominate an acceptable Excel file type, which I can do in code.

Search HTML Source Code For Text
Oct 21, 2009I need to check a website daily to see if a link has been updated. If it has been updated, the beginning of the link changes to a different date. Example: today link is www.10212009dave.com and tomorrow link may be www.10222009dave.com. Lets say the link is on www.gugg.com. The link does not change everyday, but I think a good way to see if it has been updated is to search through the source code in the html for that link.
Thus I would put www.10212009dave.com into cell A1 and tell excel to search the source code on www.gugg.com, and if the contents of cell A1 is NOT found, I'd display a message box stating the link has been updated.

I need to parse through this text file (cell A1) to create a table. This text file only has info for 1 table, the table always has 12 columns, the rows are variable. I would like it to then write back this parsed text file back into excel as a table, say starting in cell A2 on the same worksheet.

Unfortunatly, even with the PrintObject property set to True, and try to place the object on the foreplan, I can't seam to ba able to have the object show up on the preview or print.

Oct 7, 2009Does anyone have a VB macro that will copy information from a cell (this will be variable based on criteria) and paste it into the middle of another cell that contains HTML code?
The criteria for the copy/insert/paste is that the information in the cell that is to be copy/inserted must match up with the correct number (part number).
I hope this makes sense. I have attached an example spreadsheet. (Pictures are worth 1000 words. ) Hope someone can help. I checked this site and couldn't find anything that was solved that matched the specifics.

The user input number for example:
If the user inputs the number 25423310 into the txtbox then it navigates to a certain webpage.
On this webpage and all other webpages where different #'s are used are very similar. The number (25423310) is always used to identify an image. However it has more characters. For example the image is always on line 30 of the HTML code. On this example the HTML code lists the image as:
The number used in the txtbox to naviagete to the URL Ex: 25423310) is always within line 30 of code in HTML. Is it possible to run a query or parse this line of code and direct ie to open this image in a new window then copy and paste it based on the criteria of the user input? Ex. 25423310?

WebBrowser Control Only Displays A Blank Screen?
Apr 30, 2013I have searched and found a lot of references to the web browser control for a user form. I have tried and tried but all I get is a blank webbrowser control.
I have tried the navigate and navigate2 methods and other stuff that you can see that I have commented out. Also, I tried placing the line with the navigate method both before and after the userform.show method. But all I get is a blank web browser on the form.
Here is what (sort of) I have tried:

UserForm Initialize Code Closes UserForm

the userform shows when the workbook opens and is then hidden when the user has finished entering values, then when the user goes through the process of being asked to print and save, they are then asked if they would like to create a new record, if yes then it shows the userform again, but the userform is still filled with all the stuff previously entered. I tried using the unload me instead of hiding and that wouldn't work at all, didn't give errors just didn't show the userform either, this at least shows the userform, but now when the user goes to clear the information by initializing the userform again, it simply closes the userform and then it can't be shown again either.

The contents of this need to be unzipped into a folder called SyntheticShield that is placed in the C: drive that way all paths begin with C:SyntheticShield and then the other folders or files will be referenced correctly. The template I'm having problems with is the SyntheticShieldInvoiceMaker template, when you open it you'll be prompted whether you want to create a new invoice, number is final blah blah blah, say yes, then it will ask if you are importing from the Quotemaker which you aren't say no, it should then show the userform as it should. Then you can go through that process and by pressing either the create invoice or go to template directly whatever, you can hide the userform. Then you press the command button (red) a userform is brought up asking if you'd like to save without emailing, save with emailing or close controls, as for right now, I'm just getting the save without emailing to work the rest is all the same just a few tidbits of code. So click save without emailing, it should then prompt an are you sure message box, click yes it will do some things, then it will ask if you want to print, click no, then it will ask do you want to create a new invoice, click yes, this should then start the process all over again by calling the workbook_open procedure, however, when you go through everything, and click no to the import from quotemaker part it won't show the userform. And at one point it would, but then I couldn't initialize the userform without it disappearing and not being allowed to be shown...I tried putting a command button on the template to show the userform, but it wouldn't do it either.

Apr 11, 2007I have a data base of hundreds of drawings all linked in Excel. In excel I just clik on the Hyperlinked file and it opens up in my cad program.
With so many files, in order to see exactly what I am opening I have to open it. This is just if the description is not clear.
Can I create a mouse over preview that would pop up a linked picture file or a jpg in an assigned box or free floating.
so when the user puts their mouse over the hyperlink number, without clicking it, a preview picture of the item will pop up right in the excel sheet.
