Preview Userform Prior To Export To Worksheet
Aug 16, 2013
I have created a USERform that requires a user to enter data on the form. The Form also has Text boxes that are used for calculated totals. The problem is that as I tab through the boxes that need to have values and input the values. The Calculated field do not get updated until I export the data to the worksheet. Which is ok but I would like to preview the form with the calculations prior to the export. How I can see the Form updated form priorto export I have included my code, when I click Private Sub CBTN_OK_Click() do I see the Form updated but it has already written it to the worksheet
Code
Private Sub CBTN_Cancel_Click()
Unload Me
End Sub
Private Sub CBTN_Clear_Click()
[Code]...

Is it possible to have a (print)preview shown in a textbox in a userform?
A layout has been made in a worksheet and content is added to some cells through Userforms (textboxes and comboxes).
1 Userform contains a big textbox and a "SEND"-button.
What I would like is to have a preview of the worksheet inside that textbox before they click send.
During this whole proces, the Excel -Worksheet is not visible (to prevent changes being made to the program)!

I created a macro that prints a label from a userform. The macro used to reside on an XP platform and performed without issues. IT decided they wanted to upgrade the machine to a Windows 7 platform. Now when the userform prints a small window pops up that looks like a print preview of the label, however it is transparent and has a window caption of 'Precut Label' as identified in the userform design. I am including a screenshot of the pop-up. The unusual thing about this is the window cannot be closed, moved or selected in any way shape or form. The only way to get it to close is to view the userform object in the vba editor. The line of code that triggers the print sequence as well as cause the pop-up is: frmLabel.PrintForm. This line of code is housed in the sheet1 object.

The workbook has a tab for each day, and there are variance columns. The tabs are named for the date, like 1.20, 1.21, 1.22, etc.
For example, the formula on 1.21 in D2 is simply =C2-'1.20'!C2
That works fine, but it's a time-consuming job to always change it. You have one sheet to copy many times for all the other formulas, but then have to re-name and change that variance formula on each worksheet.
Is there a way to reference the prior worksheet without using it's specific name?
=C2-'prior worksheet'!C2 would be nice...I could take my one sheet and copy it about 23 times for each workday, then copy that whole workbook to use in the subsequent months without making any formula changes.

I have an Excel file that use an internal link from one worksheet to the next. When I click on the link, I'd like it to go directly to a print preview page so I can print that one page instead just switching to the other worksheet. Is this possible?

I have a workbook with multiple sheets where the view for each sheet is the Normal view.
If I print the entire workbook, the active sheet changes to the Page Break Preview view after the printing finishes.
I have to then reset the view back to Normal.
I don't know why the active worksheet is changing. I don't want to annoy the people who will use this workbook by making them change back to normal view after each time they print.

It takes a specific sheet & range, uses publish object to create a HTML version of this sheet then launches the IE browser to display this to the user.
Issue:
Under Windows XP, Excel 2003 & Excel 2007 this works OK. Under Vista & Excel 2007, the HTML preview file is not getting written - I get an error when IE browser tries to display this file. Error: Can not find "Print Preview.htm"
Anyone run into this on Vista? Is this a permissions issue with writing the html file? Not sure why this exact same code works under XP and not Vista.

I have a spreadsheet which has data dumped into it on a daily basis. The key feature of this spreadsheet is the column containing a week no (1-52)
Because of the amount of data being stored each week What I would like to do is create a user form where the user could select a Week No from a dropdown list, or type it into an input box and then click a command button which would send all the data for the required week into a seperate sheet.

I have a userform with lots of checkboxes and I would like to be able to create either a GIF file of the userform using VBA (if it's easy), or export to a .txt file all the checkbox labels and their respective values (i.e. TRUE or FALSE) which I think might be more easier to code.

I've been investigating how to use a UserForm in Excel. While I've learned some, I can't quite figure out how to export the data from the UserForm. I want the form in one workbook and have it record a new row in a different, but constant workbook each time the action button is clicked. I have been able to create the form and included the action button, but I don't know what code to assign to the button.
I think I know the important pieces to the puzzle, but I don't know the syntax or how to put them together.
Form Details:
2 Text Boxes (TextBox1 & TextBox2) - TextBox1 is the Employee Name. TextBox2 is the Employee Number
10 List Boxes (ListBox1:ListBox10) - All ListBoxes will return a value of either "Yes" or "No".
1 Action Button (RecordCommand)
Export Details:
File Path Where the new workbook will be stored: E:HR Team Audit
File Name of Workbook where form data will be stored: "HR Audit Record Workbook.xlsx"
Column Headers will be in Cells A1:L1 of that workbook
Below is the code for the Text and List Boxes:
Code:
Private Sub UserForm_Initialize()
With TextBox1
End With
With TextBox2
End With
With ListBox1
.AddItem "Yes"
.AddItem "No"
End With

I have come across this code to export a worksheet to csv
Sub QuoteCommaExport_New()
Dim DestFile As String
Dim FileNum As Integer
Dim Col As Long
Dim Rw As Long
Dim sRowData As String
Dim rngText As Range
Dim Rng1 As Range
Set Rng1 = ActiveSheet.UsedRange
Set rngText = Cells.SpecialCells(xlCellTypeConstants, xlTextValues)
DestFile = InputBox("Enter the destination filename including .txt or .csv as the file extension e.g. C:Export1.csv")...........
my issue is that i have a worksheet B14: AG175 that could potentially be filled in with data but only want selected cells IF there is data in that row... so for example say row 20-25 have data & rows 40-50 have data... now i want column e,f,h,i, aa for those particular rows as a (.csv file )without any header info... Is there a fairly easy to explain answer to make the above code achieve this??

Since upgrading to Windows 2007 (I was already using Excel 2007) I am having issues with the content in the cells on the worksheet not appearing the same on Print Preview and when I print. On the worksheet the cell show to be at the best fit both horizontally and vertically. When I look at the contents under print preview, the contents are squashed from the top and cut off from the left. This happens whether I have the format in Top or Central align and is even worse if I use Bottom align. It is also somewhat worse if I have thickened boarders.
I am using TrueType Fonts.

After I hide the tab, when I tried to export it. I have an error message of "Invalid argument". I should use another type of code to export hidden tabs.

Is there a way to export and save the contents and table layout of a worksheet as a picture ( say jpeg )?
Basically what I would love to do is that when I save the workbook, a certain worksheet named " Fax " is saved to my desktop as a picture (as a snapshot). What would even be better is that the said file was named with simply the date !
The purpose of this is so I can email it to a very non computer guy who thinks that excel is only a gum . . .
I know this is weird but you guys are the best, you helped me a lot to make my spreadsheet.

I'm trying to move the values in Column A Room ID to Column G Room ID by having excel look up value in Column C Room or Area #, compare it to Room, associate that with Room ID and automatically fill in Column G Room ID. There are 1000s of these so it's not possible to do it by hand.
I attached a picture where i had 2 different workbooks. In reality, I'm working off of 2 worksheets within a workbook.Excel Question.jpg

I've created a worksheet that allows my team to build an order for a customer. I've created a PDF form with blanks so they can fill in the necessary values in the correct fields ie. Tariff Name, Handset Name, Minutes etc.
I'm hoping to create a macro button that will export all the the data needed and auto fill the PDF form to save time.
So far I've added a button with the following code
VB:
Sub CopyData()
Sheets("Quote").Range("v16:ab16").Copy
Sheets("Sheet1").Cells(Rows.Count, "A").End(xlUp).Offset(1, 0).PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteValues
End Sub
This simply adds all the data needed onto a separate sheet ready to be exported as a csv.
I'm in need of the rest of the code to export/import Sheet1 into my fillable form.
So far attempts to export to .csv have turned my entire worksheet into a .csv file or caused errors within the code.
I've attached a sample of my Workbook and PDF form below.

I have a macro that I run repeatedly in a certain type of spreadsheet that does an export on a selection, pulls up a "Save As" message box and saves as a text file. There are 9 sheets in the workbook that contain the same data analysis for a set of samples, the only difference between them being the number of data (e.g. some may have 1500, 1400, 1600, etc.). I only select three columns of data to export (I6:K????) that contain counts (1,2,3,....), x-coordinates and y-coordinates. The counts column (I) uses a formula that only counts if there is an x-coordinate next to it (Col J).
[Code].....
Generally, what I do to make quick work out of selecting the variable ranges is to select Sheets 03-11 (the first nine sheets) and select K6:I6 (starting w/ K6). Then, on each individual sheet, I do CTRL+SHIFT+DOWN to select all the relevant data (if I started my selection with I6, then it would select all cells that contained formulas which may or may not have x,y-coordinates adjacent to them). Once the data is selected (I6:K????), I run the export macro and save the data as text. I would like a macro that can automate the selection for each Sheet 03-11, excluding Sheets "all", "data" and "summary", and run the export macro, first prompting me for a file location and a file prefix. When the text file is saved, it uses the file prefix and Worksheet name to build the filename, i.e. "pathprefix_wkshtname".
I've attached an example workbook : 20120511_Au-cit_pH5_test.xlsx

What I would like to do is create a userform where I can input a case reference number and click a command button which searches the CSV/TXT file for any notes for the specific reference number and then returns all notes (seperated by a blank line) in the textbox within the userform in the posted/saved format.
I can find lots about importing to excel but nothing about importing data to userforms.
CSV file added for format. The userform contains two text boxes, one blank for import and one for completing the case reference number (format on CSV file. Line item 1).
i.e. if I searched by SL-001-0155648 I would get the below (It's not code but I thought the best way of showing what I mean):

I have a workbook with 4 worksheet that store different type of data. It also has a userform that load at start of the application which is to search the data in the workbook. The userform has a combobox where the names of the sheets are stored. when the user selects say Sheet2 in the combobox, it enables the relevant textboxes on the userform and activates the worksheet at the change event. The userform has a search button that searches all the worksheets based on the text entered in a textbox.
The problem: how to search based on 1 textbox. What I want is: say for e.g the end-user selects sheet2 from the combobox, this intern enables 4 textboxes (Name, DOB, Nationality, ID #) on the userform. The end-user should have the liberty to enter data in 1 and/or any of the textboxes. The search should be performed, that if data is only in 1 of any of textboxes then give all rows that fit that criteria and display in a temp worksheet. if say the name and dob is filled by the user than what matches both should be displayed in a temp worksheet. if say dob, name and ID# given so the search button should narrow down to fit all 3 criteria and then display result in temp worksheet. As if mentioned data can be entered in either just 1 or any or all textboxes.
E.g. the worksheet is (Columns are Name, Nationality, DOB, ID#)
row 1 = name: Steven Martin, DOB: 27-may-1993, Nationality: Trinidad & Tobago, ID #: 1234567
row 2 = name: Gary Richards, DOB: 2-FEB-1993, Nationality: British, ID #: 456789
row 3 = name: David Cohen, DOB: 27-May 1993, Nationality: American, ID #: 98765
row 4 = name: Roberto McDonalds, DOB 21-Jul-1962, Nationality: British, ID # 654321
row 5= name: Gary Richards, DOB: 01-Dec-1978, Nationality: Australian, ID # 1234567
Now if the user enters only name as "Gary Richards" and search then row 2 and 5 should be displayed in a temp worksheet. if user enters name Roberto McDonald and ID# 1234567 then it should not display anything. if user enters DOB 27-may-1993 and nationality British and ID # 1234567 then as well shouldn't display anything and should a msgbox "no data found".

Could it be possible to "sequentially offset" a vlaue, say, of A1 such that, for instance, when A1 changes from "5" to "6" (via formula, not direct input), A1=6 and, say, B1=5, and so on? You know, like keeping a value record of A1, one step back, in B1.
This would be UNBELIEVABLY valuble to me. Thus, would I be in eternal debt to he/she who would resolve this here.
