writing a loop that will perform the same action on 11 worksheets but stop if it gets to a sheet with no data in cell A1. The data in A1 will be text. The code I wrote below below does what I want it to, but I have to run it on each individual sheet.
i'm trying to get my code to work. Basically my code opens up workbook and extract the relavant data into the main workbook. Previously Its just a single For loop and it works perfectly after changing to double for loop its stuck.
Sub RunCodeOnAllXLSFiles() Dim lCount As Long Dim wbResults As Workbook Dim wbCodeBook As Workbook Dim rCell As Range Dim lCount2 As Long Worksheets("Data").Select Range("a2:ac65536").Clear Application. ScreenUpdating = False Application.DisplayAlerts = False Application.EnableEvents = False On Error Resume Next Set wbCodeBook = ThisWorkbook..................
I have attached a screencap of an example source table that I am trying to write a macro to manipulate each day. Starting conditions are that I have data in column A and B. Column A would be reference numbers that may be on one line, or more likely, on multiple lines repeating with varying counts. Column B is the weight associated with each line. I would need a macro that could loop through column A, determine if the ref number has changed, and then calculate/populate column C. Column C is the % of the total weight for the unique reference number. I have illustrated this in the table using column D. This is taking me incredible manual effort to complete right now and I do know VBA, I just don't know how to loop a variable range in this case.
What the code does is, when the command button is clicked, if any of the validation list in a particular range is equal to"Select_Product.." or "Select Feature", then hide those rows.
Also, is there a way to toggle hide and unhide rows using one command button. I would like the code to not only hide the rows but when clicked again, it'll unhide it. Is this possible?
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim c As Range Dim d As Range Dim myRange As Range Dim featureRange As Range
I am working on modifying this code (below) that I found here: VB Macro to search webpage for text string
Code:
Option Explicit Public stResultstr As String Sub SearchForString() Dim rngURL As Range Dim cll As Range Dim stCheck As String Dim xmlHttp As Object
[Code]...
So right now I have the script prompt you for a URL range, then it asks you for what you want to search for, and I have it set to return the next 10 characters from that found point.
You can see here:
Code:
If InStr(1, stResult, stCheck, vbBinaryCompare) > intt Then intt = InStr(1, stResult, stCheck, vbBinaryCompare) + Len(stCheck)
I began to create something to identify the last position of the found item because next I want to loop it to find the next occurance of the same thing and return the next 10 characters after it in the next cell to the right in that same row:
Code:
cll.Offset(, 1).Value = stResultstr
Again, what I want to do here is find and parse out every occurence of a string (inputbox) found on a web page url in column A. The parse occurrences will go to the right in cells C though ? for row N.
I have data that I copy from one sheet and move it to another. If I know I'm parsing data that may vary in amount of line items but will always be across 3 columns is there a way to parse this data evenly.
for example: I would like to look in column "D" and if there is an "A" I would like to parse cells A,B,C in that row to sheet 2 and parse this information evenly across 3 columns evenly across columns "A,E, I" In my example the data is only 21 rows of information the problem I have is evenly parsing this information.
VBA code (or formulas) that can parse data from individual cells into multiple columns? I have attached a file noting the current inputs in columns A-F and the desired outputs in columns I-O. Additionally, I have noted the distinguishing criteria for each of the fields in cells I13-O13. Also, I noticed that each of the data points in the input cells are separated by at least two spaces. Lastly, the input data in the working sheet goes from columns A-H and the desired outputs would start from column I; with row 1 having the headers.
I have a single worksheet containing data in columns A-J. I need to Copy all cells to a new work sheet when the value in column A changes. The worksheet should be named the value of column A. I have found thread 656226, but am unable to modify to work.
I need to prepare a lot of data for upload from Excel to a system. Example, In cell A1: I have very long text that I need to parse into B1, C1, D1, etc, depending on the length as each cells can support up to 40 characters only.
It seems easy as I can just find the length of A1 and use mid to parse them to the rest of the cells. But the sales person wants the data to be readable, meaning that I can't just split the data simply based on the character limits.
I need to use a macro to import data from an unknown # of order files to my master spreadsheet. My master spreadsheet & my order files contain a unique po number that can be used to find matching records. When the macro is ran & a match is found it needs to import the all data that to the master spreadsheet & updated the "processed" column for the record found. Also, all the lines in the unprocessed order files should be matched up. If a record is not matched, a warning needs to be displayed. If the record has already been processed, it just needs to be skipped. Attached is an example master spreadsheet & an example unprocessed orders spreadsheet. If at all possible, please split the unprocessed orders into separate files when testing the final product. The part that I will struggle with the most is looping thru separate files.
I routinely have do download massive data sets of reporting that is saved as an excel spreadsheet. The three columns of sample data attached are Report Numbers, Report Evaluation Serial Numbers, and Report Evaluator ID.
As seen in the attached spreadsheet, there can be multiple Report Numbers (in same field separated by comma) which have been evaluated by different Evaluators. It is my responsibility to account for the number of Reports that have been evaluated, and many other metrics from like data. The issue I have is when more than one report number is listed in the same field I need to parse the data into its own field for ease of counting (and also maintain the adjacent data). It is not a problem to merely copy the fields and delete the excess numbers, however when dealing with thousands of Reports, and Evaluators this can be very time consuming. In the attached file I have separated .xls into three workbooks to help explain my problem: Initial state of Data; What I need To Parse Out; and The final endstate I require. I hope that I have explained this issue with enough detail. I am sure that the attached file will explain better.
I am trying to determine a way to quickly import data from text files into Excel and place data in suitable columns (under correct headings). I am thinking I could be asked which file to read and import doing them 1 by 1, or if there is an automated way to cycle through all the files that would be more efficient (filenames are variable).
From the text files I have attached I can tell the column headers and what data should go under each. Not sure how you would describe the delimiting on these files? Are these files in a format that VBA could be used to reduce manual copy and paste approach? I have about 300 of these files I want to extract the data from.
Note: the attached files are from a public access website.
Macro which loops through a number of files and calls the same macro in each of them. Unfortunately when I add "Application.Run..." to the code, it no longer loops through the process and instead stops after updating the first file in the loop. If I remove the "Application.Run..." code and add any other code, the loop works fine and it continues through the process repeating all the steps for each file found.
Why it stops after one file when using "Application.Run..." to call the macros?
NB I have a list of path and file names starting in row 8 of columns A and C. Each file in the list has a macro called UpdateS1 and promoupdate1.
Sub C_Run_Loop_Macro() Dim lastRow As Long Dim i As Long
How do I tell a loop command to stop after a certain number of sheets? The code below works for what I want to do but it saves all the sheets in my workbook bar the first one. I just want to save sheets 2, 3 & 4
Code: Option Explicit Sub mysaver() Application.Calculation = xlManual Dim counter As Integer counter = 2 ' counter is for the number of sheets in the workbook Do While counter
I have a small macro that searches the sheets in a workbook and sends the info (if qualifies) to a new workbook before saving that workbook using a name date time format for records.
I woud like this macro to be able to repeat action in 8 more selected workbooks in a folder. Question - can I name the workbooks I want to search - and - can I search all 9 workbooks before the data sheet saves and names itself, limiting access.
I have this very simple code below that I use to delete a row if its marked as 'false' in column M. This works quite well, but I want to expand it. I use this in a workbook that can have name different sheet names in a month, and I want it to automatically go through all the sheets and do this...except for 2 sheets named addressess and sheet1. Is there something I can add to this macro that will loop through all the other sheet names (regardless of name) and execute this?
Sub DelRow() With ActiveSheet .AutoFilterMode = False With Range("m1", Range("m" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp)) .AutoFilter 1, "false" On Error Resume Next .Offset(1).SpecialCells(12).EntireRow.Delete End With .AutoFilterMode = False End With End Sub
Is it possible that a VBA code could loop through some sheets in a workbook and save each one as an individual CSV file. The CSV filename would be the same as the sheet name.
I am trying get a set of code to run through the sheets in the workbook... All sheets EXCEPT 1 named "Summary".
How can I code the proper statement? This is my current Private Sub cmdAddDistribution_Click()
Dim ws As Worksheet Dim lCount As Long Dim rFoundCell As Range
'check for selected cash flow If Trim(Me.cboxCashFlow.Value) = "" Then Me.cboxCashFlow.SetFocus MsgBox "Please select a Cash Flow." Exit Sub End If...............
There are more sheets that this is run on, but I am sure you get the idea. I guess that this can be done using a loop, I would prefer to code the sheet names in, there are 5 in total.
I am trying to loop all columns in each of a number of sheets using current region.
It selects the current region OK but the column counter only shows 1 as the number of columns in any sheet.
The Cells(6,1) likely has something to do with it but I do not know any other way to point to the current region I need. I do not know in advance how many rows or columns I am starting with but each has the required Row 6.
I have a workbook with 180 Sheest. I need to copy sheet name and paste to column Name. In the Column Year write 2013.Finally I need to all sheets as show below in in Sheet Farms. Doing this one by one is time consuming and with error risk. I think a loop can do this, nevertheless, I don't Know how to do it. Column size can be different in each Sheet
Sheet name Famr1 CodNameYearDescTotal1Total2ProvCnt 1234Apples200xxxyyyzzz 3412Bananas400xxxyyyzzz 2358Oranges500xxxyyyzzz 8956Pines800xxxyyyzzz
However it will only add data to the active sheet when i am asking it to loop through the workbook missing out specified sheets. Would anyone be able to look over the code to see where the error is as to why it will not loop through the remaining sheets in the work book.
