How To Change Text In Textbox Which Is On Worksheet
Oct 10, 2011I am trying to change the text in a textbox which is on a worksheet (i.e. not a vba textbox). I recorded a macro and this is what I got:

Apr 27, 2007I am currently working on a workbook designed for resource planning. It contains a worksheet named "The Team" which contains information about every person on the team. It has columns for First name, Last name, and Division.
There is also a worksheet for each division; Each contain 3 sections that are either inputs or formulas, with the people of that division in column A.
My issue is adding people into this workbook. At the moment, if I want to add people into this workbook, I have to insert a row in "The Team", fill out their info, and then go to their division's sheet and insert a row in each 3 sections. This is a rather tedious way to do it and I wanted to know if there was some way I could automate it.
At the moment, I have created a macro that serves to Insert a row and copy formulas, but leave constants blank. It is nice for inserting the rows, but I still have to manually go to the division sheet and execute the macro in all 3 sections.
Disable Autoupdate Or Stop It
Jan 26, 2007Im entering formulas in cells that link it to other sheets. I have to change this monthly, and everytime i search to replace it takes a very long time since its updating it as it goes along. Can i disable autoupdate or stop it? it takes forever.

Here is my code, it does a vlookup and if the persons name is not found it will split the text entered into forename and surname but when i try and add

It actually displays &ForeName & in the text box of the next from rather than what ForeName is..
eg. John Smith -> search button -> user not found msg -> user wants to add user -> string is split into forename and surname -> forename = John , surname = Smith -> display this in the second form.
What code should i be using to do this, i thought that &ForeName & would work.

Set Textbox Control Source To Hidden Worksheet NOT Active Worksheet?
May 6, 2014I have created an excel worksheet that will provide budgeting and estimating tools for my project managers. All data used to be manual entry and took a good while to complete. I am trying to automate the process with VBA.
I created a UserForm called InfoVerify1. On that form I have TextBox 1 - 10. When the UF opens, the boxes display project information from my worksheet called "Basis of Estimate", also known as Sheet26.
The TextBox1 ControlSource is set to "E4". When I run the macro with Sheet26 active, the proper information fills in. However, when I am on the Start page or any other worksheet and I run the macro, it tries to fill in the text boxes with E4, etc, from the active sheet. I tried changing the ControlSource to "Sheet26,E4" or any combo thereof with only error messages.
how to get it to refer to a cell on a particular worksheet and hold to that worksheet no matter which sheet I am on at the time I run the Userform?

Dec 6, 2013I have two columns, column Q and R. Column Q has Data Validation set, where you can only choose one of four options in any given cell between rows 2-250,000. When "Complete" is chosen, the cell turns green. Now when "Complete" is chosen in column Q, I need the cell next to it in Column R to auto-fill today's date. However, the date should not update to the next day. So if the cell autofills to today's date, which is 12/6/13, tomorrow, when the date changes to 12/7/13, the cell still reads 12/6/13.

May 18, 2006I am attempting to format some TextBoxes from within a For/Next loop. I need a way to check which TextBox is the active TextBox in the loop. Using i as the variable, I came up with this code snippet: Me.Controls("TB" & i).Text = Format("TB" & i, "mm/dd/yy")
If i = 3, this gives me in TextBox3 (which is called TB3) the text 'TB3' and not the value of what is in TB3. It has got to bo something simple, I just can't see it!!!

I want to format these textboxes so that they only accepts numberical values (like 500,000....no dollar sign and no cents needed). After typing in 500,000 lets say for this example, I want to paste it into a cell in worksheet B (I can actually handle this part). What iIcan't handle is:
Formatting the textboxes so that they only accept numbers (or display a message if a number is not entered) Display the 500000 as 500,000 in the textbox without the user having to enter a comma Hitting enter or tab to get the value from the textbox into the cell in worksheet B. It only pastes it into worksheet B when I click on another cell. That doesn't seem like the right way to enter data.
I am wondering if I just should have used a userform and added the controls onto it. I have 8 sets of 5 user controls; I thought this would be easier.

Jun 12, 2009I have a entry form in which i want to register customers. the first field is the customer number (which is unique(created by me) for every customer). This is TextBox 1 in the document. I would like to search for duplicates in worksheet 2, collumn A, when pressing "enter" to move from TextBox 1 to TextBox 2. A search for duplicates should start and a message should appear " duplicate found" if found, otherwise continue to TextBox 2 for further entry of information.

Autoupdate Cell Comment Based On Cell Input / Dynamic Cell Comments?
Aug 16, 2013I'm wondering if it is at all possible to have a cell comment automatically update depending on what data is input in the cell (via user input, VLOOKUP, etc.)?
For example, if cell A1 contains the text "CHARLES" with a comment saying "Employee of the Month", and is then subsequently updated with the new text "JOHN" (again, via direct input, a VLOOKUP, data validation, etc.) is there a way to have the comment automatically update to say something else, such as "Team Lead" for example?
I've considered using VBA to accomplish my goal, but am unsure how to compose an effective code to do so. I've also considered perhaps creating a named table filled with all the different comment possibilities I would like to have used in this cell and then inputting a formula in either cell A1, or the comment contained therein, that would then call the corresponding text from that table based on the data in cell A1. Honestly, I'm not sure that what I'm trying to do is even possible;

Jan 26, 2014I have a userform with numerous text boxes. One textbox is used to input a date with the following code

When I have completed my userform I want to export this date as a date into range(a2) so I can then use the filter function to filter by month or year. THe problem I am having at the mo is that in the userform it is formatted as dd mm yy, but when I export it from userform it changes to mm,dd,yy. So if I entered 12th January 2014 it changes it to 1st December 2014.
A workaround is to export as text but then I use the filter by month year function so would prefer to avoid this.
