Average Of Numbers Between If They Fall Between Dates

Jan 24, 2013

I have to columns of data

Date and number

4/1/2012861,808
11/1/2011594,930
11/1/20102,740,320
11/1/20121,041,948
10/1/20111,726,000
10/1/20091,628,000
10/1/20082,059,929
10/1/2011 4,002,000
9/1/20062,979,602
9/1/20073,774,000
9/1/2011NA#

I want to take the average of the numbers between if they fall between dates of 2006 and 2007.

I can not do it with averageifs because I have that NA# in the second column. I dont know what to do.

I have something that works but only if it does not contain NA#, below is the example of what works:

=AVERAGEIFS($D$2:$D$131,$B$2:$B$131,""&H2)

Average For Numbers That Fall Within Criteria?

Nov 10, 2011

I need to figure out a way to get an average for the numbers in column A, but ONLY those numbers in column A that have the number "1" in column B. example:

Column A Column B
3 5
6 1
4 1

The average would be "5", because the numbers 6 and 4 have "1" next to them in column B.

Check If 2 Dates (or Any Dates In Between) Fall In Tax Year

Jul 10, 2009

I want to create a function that will check 2 user input dates (and anything in between) to see if it lies in a defined tax year. I will define the tax year in Cells A1: 6/4/2009 and A2: 5/4/2010 and ask the user to input dates in Cells B1 and B2 to check if any of these dates (or anything in between) falls between A1 and A2.

For example: Tax Year is 6th April 2009 - 5th April 2010, Cell A1 is 6/4/2009 and A2 is 5/4/2010. User inputs 2nd March 2009 in Cell B1 and 10th May 2009 in B2. Because the 10th May falls in the tax year the output should be "True". I can Excel to check one user defined number (Cell B1) using this =IF(AND (B1>=A1,B1<=A2),"Yes","No") but not sure which route to take to check 2 numbers B1 & B2 and anything in between.

Average Elapsed Time With Conditions Using Dates & Numbers

Mar 5, 2009

Dataset is 220K rows. A small subset follows.

Using an array calc with criterions Day = 1 and Hour = 1 summed on Elapsed Time returns 81 with an average of 11.57 for 7 events of which there are 5 distinct dates.

The function =SUM(IF(D2:D14<>"",1/COUNTIF(D2:D14,D2:D14))) returns the number of distinct dates in the dataset ie 7.

Is it possible to combine these two methods to create an average of elapsed time by day and hour using a denominator of distinct dates for only that combination of dimensions?

I have attempted to calculate an item in a pivot table using a different denominator without success.

day Hour Date Elapsed Time
1 0 5/03/2009 25
1 0 5/03/2009 24
1 1 5/03/2009 23
1 1 7/03/2009 11
1 0 7/03/2009 5
1 1 8/03/2009 2
1 1 8/03/2009 8
1 1 9/03/2009 4
1 1 9/03/2009 17
1 0 9/03/2009 22
1 1 10/03/2009 16
1 2 13/03/2009 12
2 1 14/03/2009 15

Counting Dates That Fall Within A Certain Month

Jan 23, 2009

I have items arriving on certain dates (the dates are listed in column N)

In the cell to the right of each month, I want to have a formula that will count the dated cells in column N that fall under each month.

i.e. In cell B5, next to January, I want to display the total number of cells that contain a date in January (ultimately giving me the number of items that arrive in January) the number would read '5' because there are 5 dates in January that are in the list.

Add Numbers Together That Fall Under A Certain Value In A Row

Feb 11, 2009

I need a formula to add numbers together that fall under a certain value in a row and a certain column from more than one pivot table.

I have used this

=GETPIVOTDATA("orders",$A$*,"Month","December,","WAIT BAND","2-3")

and this works fine for bringing across the data for that pivot. The problem i have is if i then also want to add numbers from another to another pivot.

=GETPIVOTDATA("orders",$A$*,"Month","December,","WAIT BAND","2-3") + =GETPIVOTDATA("awaiting orders",$A$*,"Month","December,","WAIT BAND","2-3")

Show / Sort Dates That Fall In Between Date (offset)

Jan 27, 2014

I have in column A the units, and in B and C the date changes. I want, when I pick a month from the box, that it only picks the IN and OUT date that applies to the month that I picked (per unit). For ex: if I choose Month march, it should show only for unit 19902506 for example: A2 and A5. And not A7 and A11. As March falls in between the Start and End Date. Is that passible? Something with OFFSET? I managed to find the latest known date with the formula =lookup (Column M:N) but Im not sure

Counting Dates That Fall In A Specific Week Of The Month

Feb 2, 2009

Please see the attached xls file so see what I am referring to.

I have shipments that are going to different destinations (rotterdam, austria, london, etc.)

I would like to count the arrival dates in column H that fall under each week's span, but ONLY IF its corresponding value in column F is 'rotterdam'.

Column C contains the ideal numbers that I would like column B's formula to return. I plan on doing this for the entire year, but if someone can some up with a formula, I might be able to modify it for the rest.

Note: This is only an example spreadsheet, I am going to be referencing an external file with much more information on it.

Average Column Of Cells But Ignore Errors And Return Average Of Numbers That Are There

E10 needs to show the average of the numbers that are in E11 through E24, and just ignore the errors.

I have many columns like that - where the errors need to show and I need to show an average of the number/values that do appear, ignoring the errors.

Average Numbers In Table Containing Numbers And Letters?

Jan 27, 2012

I have a spreadsheet wtih a number of rows that contain answers to different criertia in each column.

The row may therefore have cells that either have numbers or letters.

Column A will be the title of the row.

I want to write a function to find the average value of the numbers in any row with title 'x'.

So it would look down column A, and look for those called 'x', and then average all the numbers across all those rows.

I have tried to use =averageif, but I think the fact there are letters in the cells being assessed (which I just want to be ignored) creates an error.

Convert Numbers Representing Dates To True Dates

I import data from my works server and dates are represented in text. example text format is yyyymmdd/19790310. What I'm trying to do is add and subtract from this date. I was trying to utilize formula and havent got close. I have a couple of parameters:

In column L I would like to represent the following

if column "B" is "A" add 38 years to column "J" dates are represented as TEXT
if column "B" is "B" add 35 years to column "J" "
if column "B" is "C" add 30 years to column "J" "
if column "B" is "d" add 30 years to column "J" "

Column "M" I would like to find the difference in column "L" and "C" I know days will be difficult it can be represented in years and months only.

I have no preference on whether I use VBA or a formula but have failed on on formula and was attempting to use VBA Case method but no success. I have 10000 rows of information and am open to any ideas attached an example of my data.

Average Between Dates

02/12/06 39.5
03/12/06 39.9
04/12/06 41

I want the average of 01/12/06 and 04/12/06 (or any 2 dates), I can write a formula to pull in the 40 and 41 and have an average of 40.5 but I need it to calculate the average of all values within the range so the end result is 40.1.

Average Between Two Dates And Times?

Jun 9, 2014

If you have some low time resolution data you need to compare with high time resolution data how do you average the high resolution data. For example data that starts and ends a fortnight apart and you want to compare it with data that starts and ends 1 hour apart you need to average the hourly data to do so. I can't figure out how:

So if I had Sheet 1 with hourly data

A B C D E
1 Date, Time, Measurement
2 01/01/2014, 01:00, 62
3 01/01/2014, 02:00, 38
etc....

Then in Sheet 2, fortnightly data

A B C D E
1 Date on, Time On, Date Off, Time Off, Measurement
2 02/01/14, 15:23, 18/01/2014, 12:25, 52
3 18/01/2014, 12:25, 01/02/2014, 14:19, 34
etc....

I'd want to add a new column of data to average the hourly data so I can use the correl function.

Average Number Of Days Between Array Of Dates?

May 6, 2014

I'm working on building a workbook to track sales progress, and I'd like to perform an analysis on some of the data with regards to sales efficiency.

To simplify:
Column A = Initial Contact Date (mm/dd/yyyy)
Column B = Close Date (mm/dd/yyyy)

As an example, I would like to calculate the average number of days between the Initial Contact Date and the Close Date to calculate the average number of days in the prospecting cycle. Basically, the formula should function as AVERAGE((B1-A1)+(B2-A2)+(B3-A3)...) and so on for the entire column.

I know one solution would be to insert a new column that performs the subtraction between the two dates, and then I could AVERAGE this new column. However, I want to perform similar calculations to analyze the time period between other key milestones in the prospecting cycle - rather than have a lot of extra columns in my sheet, I was wondering if there's some type of array formula that will calculate what I need.

Average With Multiple Conditions, Including Dates

Aug 20, 2008

My spreadsheet is too large to attach so I'll describe it as best I can. I have names in column H, which are repeated irregularly. I have corresponding grade numbers (1-5) in column I, and I have the dates they were entered in column J. It looks something like this:

Column H Column I Column J
Name 1 4 8/10/08
Name 2 3.5 8/11/08
Name 1 5 8/11/08
Name 5 4 8/12/08
Etc....

I want to average the grades (column I) for a certain name (column H) within the last 30 days, or however many days I enter. I'm using Excel 2003 with the analysis add-in. I can use SUMIF to include any two columns, but how can I write an average grade formula using both the name and date conditions? Dan Auto Merged Post Until 24 Hrs Passes;Come to think of it, all I need to do is sum the data. I have a denominator in a different box that I can use to average it. Create Rolling 30 Day Average Based On Dates In Heading

Apr 16, 2014

I want to grab 30 values in row 2 as these columns are filled in daily so 8/1/14 takes the average of 7/2/14-8/31. On 8/5, I want 7/6-8/4 so on and so forth. The average that I need has to include at least one averageif stating that only nonzero "<>0" figures should be tabulated (just have business day transaction data but need all dates listed to tabulate 30 days). The range of dates will be fixed every month and info copied to tabulate on the first day.

Formula To Return Average Days Between Two Dates In A Given Month?

Jan 13, 2014

I have a workbook with two sheets. The first has a list of job positions open, columns designated to stages in the employment process and in these columns, my staff enter the dates that they completed a particular stage.

"Position | Date Opened | Stage 1 | Stage 2 | Stage 3 | Stage 4"
Pos 1 | 01/01/2014 |02/01/14|03/01/14|07/01/14|09/01/14

This has a great number of entries and they are increasing and decreasing every day depening on the amount of jobs available.

On the second sheet, I am trying to set up a table which shows the average working days it is taking to complete each stage, divided into the months in which the job position was opened (i.e. for positions opened in january, the average completion working days for stage 1 was X amount of days etc...)

I have tried using =IF(AND(Logical, Logical),TRUE,FALSE) but this doesn't return any info as the logicals will always be false. I tried the OR function, but that requires only one of the criteria to be true to return a value. What I need is for the formula to return a number of days between two dates, ONLY if the opened date falls in one month.

Find Average Of Last 4 Non Zero Numbers

Nov 27, 2008

I am trying to figure out how to take the average of the last 4 "non-zero" numbers in a series of values.

The sheet looks something like this, numbers are all in one row:

7 , 7 , 7 , 7 , Total = 28 , 8 , 8 , 8 , 8 , Total = 32 , 0 , 0 , 0 , 0 , Total = 0 , 8 , 8 , 8 , 8 , Total = 32 , 7 , 7 , 7 , 7 , Total = 28 , 8 , 8 , 8 , 8 , Total = 32 , 0 , 0 , 0 , 0 , Total = 0 , 8 , 8 , 8 , 8 , Total = 32

I'm looking for a formula that will look at all the last few totals (starting from the end) and take an average of the last 4 totals that were > 0. In this case it would average {32, 32, 28, 32} ignoring the 0 total.
