Business Week Start Date
Dec 7, 2008I am looking for a function or formula that will return the date of the first Monday in any given month and year.
View 4 RepliesI am looking for a function or formula that will return the date of the first Monday in any given month and year.
View 4 RepliesI have this column with a value like 04/06/2008. I will want another of the column to auto generate the date for the start of the week like 02/06/2008 which is a Monday.
I am trying to code a macro call where in once the file is saved with the current week start date all the other macro's should be disabled. Since am having lot of data and report sheets which needs to be added and deleted in the run. It causes me problem when I try to open it again to view the results. For example I have a sheet named apple and another one applereport. I have made my code to delete apple since it is a data sheet. I want apple report to have all the other macros disabled once its been renamed to week start date for now it is 16 Mon 2007.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a spreadsheet (attached) containing 3 columns, week commencing (c), week ending (d) and business week (e). The question is can a user enter a date in one cell (b4) and have the next cell (b5) return the corresponding business week, I have come up with a couple of solutions involving hidden columns but was wondering if there is a way to do all of this in one cell.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to select the highest value at the start of the week as this will represent my starting Inventory level. The start of the week could be any date between the beginning and end of the week. For example, If I only have one data point for the Inventory and it is on a Thursday, then that is the one I want. I went ahead and did the formula to create the week number against the dates
Input Data:
Date Week Inventory
1/1/08 1 780
1/1/08 1 760
1/1/08 1 800
1/2/08 1 500
1/3/08 1 790
1/10/08 2 500
1/10/08 2 650
1/11/08 2 400
1/15/08 3 295
1/17/08 3 275
Output Data (what I need):
Week Inventory at Start of Week
1 800
2 650
3 295
Work shifts run on a four-week, 28-day cycle always beginning on a Monday.
In 2009, the first such cycle began on Monday 12/1/09.
In my 2003 worksheet, I have the current year in A1. I want the date of the beginning of the first cycle in that year to appear in B1. This should update automatically when the year in A1 is updated.
I am new to VBA & not sure of the full understanding of code copied from a workbook which worked on the same principle but with Monthly (12) tabs. I thought if modified to show weeks, the macro would be able to locate the current week tab & day/date within - but upon opening, the cell stops at WK19 & column O - rather than WK43, Column N (which changes daily).
Sub Auto_Open()
week(1) = "WK1"
week(2) = "WK2"
week(3) = "WK3"
week(4) = "WK4"
week(5) = "WK5"
week(6) = "WK6"
week(7) = "WK7"
week(8) = "WK8"
week(9) = "WK9"
week(10) = "WK10"
week(11) = "WK11"
week(12) = "WK12"
week(13) = "WK13"
week(14) = "WK14"
week(15) = "WK15"
week(16) = "WK16"
week(17) = "WK17"
week(18) = "WK18"
week(19) = "WK19"
week(20) = "WK20"
week(21) = "WK21"

My finacial year starts on the 1st of October of each year and ends 30th of September each year.
My week is from Monday to Saturday - though for calculation ease: lets say that my week is from Monday to Sunday.
I need to calculate the week numbers of a date based on the above two criteria.
I understand that I need to ascertain the day of the start date first i.e: did 01/10/07 fall on Monday, Tuesday etc. - In fact it was Monday!
so for my year 07/08:Week 1 was 01/10/07 to 07/10/07Week 2 was 08/10/07 to 14/10/07ETCSo in the attached worksheet - what formula can I use to populate column D - by using the data in column E?
I.e. All I want to do, is input date into E and B, C, D will be calculated automatically. It would be great of excel could populate A - aswell ;-)
create a macro?
I want to add the Last business date in B3 cell just by running a macro.
I need to calculate a due date for the fifth business day of the next month following the input date. I am using Excel 2000.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to create a formula that will select a value from a lookup table where that value is related to a specific date BUT that date, derived from an input date (any day within a selected month) must always be the first BUSINESS day of that month.
For example:
I have a workbook with two worksheets in it.
The first worksheet is the input page.
On that page I want to have a list of dates which display the FIRST BUSINESS DAY of a month - e.g.
Cell A1 - Date entered as 19/9/12 and displayed as 19-Sep-12
Cell B1 - NEEDS THE REQUIRED FORMUAL TO CALCULATE THE FIRST BUSINESS DAY OF THIS MONTH (SEP)
(in this example, this should be 3) and displayed as 03-Sep-12
Cell C1 - Will display the value from the lookup table on worksheet 2 (see below) related to the date in B1
The second worksheet is a lookup table containing a sequential list of dates from 28-Jan-69 through to present (19-Sep-12) in Column A.
The adjacent column B contains the related value to that date (the value being a foreign exchange rate) - e.g.
Daily
Date
USD
29 June 2012
1.0191
1 August 2012
1.0507
[Code] ........
Worksheet 1, Cell C1 should display the value of 1.0266
I have a column where I am convering the Date into a Fiscal week number.
For example 10/6/2009 is Work week 41
Now I want to show October Week 41
I need to add the month and the text "Week" before the week number. what is the formula I use.
I am looking for a formula that looks at a date and could add business days to it.
for example:
If the date in a field is Monday, 15-dec-08 and my formula is to add 5 Business days (mon-fri) to it not including that date. The desired result would be Monday, 22-dec-08 but my formula gives me 20-dec-08
i work dispatch at a company and we're trying to track how long it takes for a technician to arrive on-site. my worksheet currently includes the date of call-in (E1) , time of call-in (F1), Service Date (G1), Service Time (H1), among many other field. the easy solution is to use the formula (G1+H1)-(E1+F1), and use the answer as the total amount of time, but the problem is if a customer call in at 3:00 PM and we service them at 9:00 AM the following day, it looks like it took 18 hours to arrive on-site, when in reality, since we close at 5:00 PM and open at 9:00 AM, we only took 2 hours to arrive on-site. is there any formula i can write to account for non-business hours and weekends, or is this a bit above what i should expect from excel?

Working hours: 8:00 AM to 19:00 PM

4D (Maximum 4 Day 11 hours)
5D (Maximum 5 Day 11 hours)

Weekends to be Excluded.
Holidays to be Excluded based on Country. Say I have 2 countries India and America, where America has holiday on 12/24/2012 but India does not have holiday on that Day. Hence while calculating Tgt date, India should be calculated normally, for America holiday date need to excluded(There will be a Holiday table based on the countries, not limited to 2 countries).
ex: 1) A ticket opened at 12/26/2012 8:56 AM; Target date will be 12/26/2012 19:00, in this case its 1 day 10:04 hours added to the Opened Time.
2) A ticket opened at 12/26/2012 16:56 PM; Target date will be 12/29/2012 19:00, in this case ticket opened after threshold time of 16:30, Technically ticket should start from next day i.e 12/28/2012 8:00 AM and 1 day 11 hours added to this date.
3) A ticket opened at 12/26/2012 7:56 AM(Before the begin of Working hours); Target date will be 12/26/2012 19:00, in this case its 1 day 11:00 hours added to the Opened Time.
4) A ticket opened at 12/21/2012 17:56 PM(After Threshold time); Target date will be 12/24/2012 19:00, in this case its 1 day 11:00 hours added to the Opened Time. If the above ticket belonged to America, then holiday dates(both 24 & 25) need to be skipped and Tgt date will be 12/27/2012 19:00.
Here is the Sample Data

I need results to be appear in the "Tgt Date/Time" column. I have also provided results in "Expected Tgt Date/ Time".
First and foremost I would like to congragulate you on this wondeful piece of code in the below link...
The query was to get a future date excluding Fridays and Holidays...
http://www.excelforum.com/excel-work...rkingdays.html
I have a similar query and therefore I pasted this link...
I actually wanted to get a future date using a Dynamic two day off as my the offs keep on changing as well as incorporate Holidays and Leaves if any..
Now Holidays would be official Public Holidays and
Leaves would be taken by the employee..
The code needs to pick the Leaves + Holidays and different offs maybe even more than 2 offs...
I would like to move columns to the right as the date changes. For example, the top of the column has the current date. Within the column are about 40 rows of data. as the date changes, I would like that column to automatically move to the right and show that column with yesterday's date, and have that data associated along with it moved. I am looking for 6 months of columns to store, with the current date in the first column and subsequently moving right with the previous dates and info.

I have a spreadsheet that contains dates in format mm/dd/yyyy. Lets call this Column C(Paydate). In Column A I have a date that needs to be a 2 business days before the paydate. If this date in column A winds up being a Saturday or Sunday, the function needs to return the previous Friday. If the date is any weekday then it should return that weekday
For example:
C1 = 10/18/2013(a Friday) then A1=10/16/2013
C2 = 10/14/2013(a Monday) then A2= 10/11/2013(the previous Friday since 2 days before 10/14/2013 is a Saturday)
C3 = 10/15/2013(a Tuesday) then A3= 10/11/2013(the previous Friday since 2 days before 10/15/2013 is a Sunday)
What calculation would I enter in a results cell if I wanted to find the delta between 2 times in date format that repersent just the business hours of 8am-5pm, therefore excluding after hours and weekends.
eg.
Date 1 Date 2 Result Time
23/07/07 8:00 24/07/07 14:55 15:55
So far I can't get the caluclation that will compensate for the after hours and week ends.
I am now trying to create a excel macro to auto populate all the dates with reference to a start date and end date. The catch is that only working days are required in the range. My reference cells (start and end date) are in Sheet 1 while the destination cell range are in Sheet 2. The reason for creating a macro instead of a function is that the intervals between the start date and end date changes frequently (annual, semi-annual and quarterly) Best case scenario would be a button which I can just press after i input the dates to generate the range of dates in another sheet.

How do I determine the specific business day based on the number of days it takes to complete a process? For example: Start date then 45 business days from that date the next step begins...then 3 business days from that date the following step begins and so on.

Example
Initial Date :- 1st of January 2014
Frequency :- every 5 weeks
Current Date :- 9th of March 2014
Next Due date should be :-12th of March 2014 (if I worked it out correctly from my paper calendar)
I want to use a cell formula to do this for different initial dates and varying frequency periods (the frequency will always be whole weeks i.e. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,8,10)
We have a few residential care homes across UK. I have a workbook where I store all our residents fees which I update daily. There are 2 worksheets on one I store list of residents on the other one I have a daily breakdown.
What I'd like to do is to use worksheet "daily" to sum fees from "all residents" with criteria like:
- carehome ("daily" row 2),
- fee ("daily" F:K,N:S,V:AA etc)
- date ("daily" C7:C1073).
While fees are on worksheet "all residents" where:
- column A has carehome name on it
- column M to AG has fees on it
- row M3:AG3 has dates on it
For example id like to count in cell F7 how many residents in Branch Court "Bc" were in residency on 12 March 2012 with £520 fee looking on worksheet "all residents" with criteria fee, carehome, date)
Each time one of the council backdates fees or changes a resident to lets say a private one I have to manually change all the numbers which takes time.

I have an excel sheet wherin there is a column that has the data where in the dates are displayed and many other columns.
I get this excel every Thursday so i want to filter this date column in such a way that it give me the data related to the date of the previous week only yet there is a catch here. When i say previous week i mean.
Suppose today is 03/14/14 then i want the data from 03/07/14 till today ie Last week friday to this week full( so cant use Current week option) and then paste it in a new sheet.
I tried the Record part but in that it is taking a hard coded value as i am selecting the date myself. I dont want to change the date manually every time.
this was the macro that was created
Code:
ActiveSheet.Range("$A$1:$BX$58").AutoFilter Field:=1, Operator:= _
xlFilterValues, Criteria2:=Array(1, "3/10/2014")
Range("A59").Select
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=COUNT(R[-4]C:R[-1]C)"
Range("A60").Select
is it possible to display the week number of todays date (today()) from a physically entered start date (which would obviously be week one), the start date would be november 4th 2013.

i need VB to select the start date of booking and autohighlights the "blank booking slot cells" until the end date that is input in Excel. You can visualise this as a room booking system. The left most column is the dates and the first row represents the different rooms type. E.g. if one guest books the Twin Deluxe No. 123 room on 23 Oct 2006 until 25 Oct 2006. We wish the VB can essentially help us identify the start date then begins highlighting the three slots for 23, 24 and 25 Oct on the column for the Twin Deluxe Room 123.
