I am attempting to create a formula that will select a value from a lookup table where that value is related to a specific date BUT that date, derived from an input date (any day within a selected month) must always be the first BUSINESS day of that month.
For example:
I have a workbook with two worksheets in it.
The first worksheet is the input page.
On that page I want to have a list of dates which display the FIRST BUSINESS DAY of a month - e.g.
Cell A1 - Date entered as 19/9/12 and displayed as 19-Sep-12
Cell B1 - NEEDS THE REQUIRED FORMUAL TO CALCULATE THE FIRST BUSINESS DAY OF THIS MONTH (SEP)
(in this example, this should be 3) and displayed as 03-Sep-12
Cell C1 - Will display the value from the lookup table on worksheet 2 (see below) related to the date in B1
The second worksheet is a lookup table containing a sequential list of dates from 28-Jan-69 through to present (19-Sep-12) in Column A.
The adjacent column B contains the related value to that date (the value being a foreign exchange rate) - e.g.
Daily
Date
USD
29 June 2012
1.0191
1 August 2012
1.0507
[Code] ........
Worksheet 1, Cell C1 should display the value of 1.0266
Sometimes my due dates need to be on the 15th of the month, for which DLL and Donkey gave me: =DATE(YEAR(TODAY()), MONTH(TODAY()) + (DAY(TODAY()) > 15), 15)
This works great except sometimes the 15th is on a Sunday which means I need the result to be the 13th, and sometimes it's on a Saturday which means I need the result to be the 14th. FYI: I am a n00b..
find a formula that will calculate the hours between the two below values but only take in to consideration the business hours (from 9 to 17) and exclude any weekends?
I have two columns of dates, leave start and end dates (when people start leave i.e. annual leave). Would need to introduce column(s) to calculate how many days fell within the month including the end date and excludes weekends.
For example, if the staff on leave from 31st March to 6 April, i need to show that the number of leave taken as 1 day in March and 4 days in April.
I have a table that looks like this (its basically a historical data of a stock exchange):
Date Index January 4, 2010
[Code]....
The List continues till the current Date.
I want to calculate Average Index Values of a Date of each month within a Date Range. Example: Calculate Average Index Values for 3rd of Each month from 1st Feb 2010 to 3rd Jan 2011. Formula should calculate Average of the Index Values for 3rd Feb 2010, 3rd March 2010, 3rd April 2010, 3rd May 2010, 3rd June 2010, 3rd July 2010, 3rd Aug 2010, 3rd Sept 2010, 3rd Oct 2010, 3rd Nov 2010, 3rd Dec 2010, 3rd Jan 2011.
Both the Date and the Date Range is variable. Also, the Index Value for selected Date of one or more month may not be available as that being a holiday. In that case, the formula needs to use the last available Index Value before that Date. e.g. If Index Value for 3rd Oct 2010 is not available, system will use the Index Value of 2nd Oct 2010.
I need a formula to calculate a date 6 months forward from the start date. However, in the calculated 6th month, I need it to the day before the start date.
I am using a formula to calculate the last day of the month, using any date of the month in a worksheet in cell A13, this cell is also linked to another worksheet to pick up a date, using the ISBLANK function to prevent a dummy date entry appearing if the field in the linked ASHBY RISE worksheet is blank =IF(ISBLANK('ASHBY RISE'!$C$5),"",'ASHBY RISE'!$C$5)
The last day of the month function is shown below =DATE(YEAR(A13),MONTH(A13)+1,0)
This works fine if there is a date in A13, but returns a #VALUE! error if cell A13 is blank. I have tried using the ISBLANK function, but I am still getting the #VALUE! error. Of course I may have the sysntax incorrect.
I have a cell in which I will input the last day of a month (e.g., 1/31/09, 2/28/09, etc.) In another cell, I want Excel to show the last day of the previous month. Is there a formula to calculate this automatically?
I enter in Cell 1: 1/31/09 Excel calculates in Cell 2: 12/28/08
I enter in Cell 1: 2/28/09 Excel calculates in Cell 2: 1/31/09
I am trying to calculate the Date of the next occurring 3rd Friday of the month in relation to a Static Date in a cell. So if Static Date in cell is Tuesday of the second week of a month, then I am trying to return the date of the 3rd Friday of that month. If the static date in the cell is the third friday of the month, I just want to return that particular date. And if the static date is after the 3rd Friday of the month, I am trying to return the 3rd friday of the following month. So far here is the formula I am using:
The problem I have is that if the static date is after the third friday of the month, this continues to return the 3rd friday of the month of the static date and does not advance to the third friday of the following month. Looks like I cannot attached a sample spreadsheet but here is a screenshot of the sample sheet:
I would like to calculate the week number of the month based on a date.
Now my days would only include working weeks (Monday - Friday).
Supposed the date is 12/31/2012:
M 31-Dec T 1-Jan W 2-Jan TH 3-Jan F 4-Jan
Since it only occupies 1 day of the workweek, then it will be considered as Week 1 of January. If the date is 1/28/2012:
M 28-Jan T 29-Jan W 30-Jan TH 31-Jan F 1-Feb
It will be considered as Week 5 of January since it occupies 4 days of the working week. If the date is 4/29/2013:
M 29-Apr T 30-Apr W 1-May TH 2-May F 3-May
It will be considered as Week 1 of May since it occupies only 2 days of the working week.
Basically if the date's month occupies 3 or more of the working days of the workweek then it will be considered as part of that month's working week. Is this possible with formulas? I tried to explain it the best I can.
I have a spreadsheet and every row has an incident date. What I would like to do is calculate which relative month it is compared with today's date. I know how to show if it is in the current month, but what I want is something like the following:
Today's date is 9 July 13
Row 1 date = 9 June 13, hence calculation = -1 Row 2 date = 17 May 13, hence calculation = -2 Row 3 date = 29 Jan 13, hence calculation = -6 etc
Some sort of month to month comparison resulting in an integer.
I have created a table for a business to monitor all income and expenses within a financial year of that business. This table contains raw data for example, date, income/expense, wholesale amount, retail amount etc. So when the business makes a sale for example I enter in the date of the sale, type of sale, wholesale and retail amounts etc, and i do this for every sale I make.
What i need to do is figure out a way to calculate the average monthly and weekly income to date so as the financial year continues and i make more sales i will continue to enter more data into this table and it will automatically adjust to the new weekly or monthly average income. This way i always have an actual and live average for every cent the business has made as the year progresses and i can use this to budget for the business. I would also like to know what the income is for the current week or month. that way i can say for example on average the business makes $4000 a week and in this week it has made say $5000.
I've being trying t calculate an excel formula to work out a order turnaround time based on opening hours.
Example: The store is open from 8 am to 6pm monday to friday, I need to get a formula to work out how long it took from the time the order was logged until it was completed, during the course of the working day - this works fine but if the order was received on 06/12/07 at 5:20 pm then was finally completed by 7/12/07 at 11:55 the next day I need to figure out how to take into consideration of non working hours during that time. (time from 6pm to 8 am next day
example 2 - if order was sent on the 06/12/07 at 01:30pm and completed at 06/12/07 4:30 then I know its taken 3 hours to complete
example 3 - if the order was sent on the 06/12/07 at 5pm and completed next day at 07/12/07 at 10am - then I know it took 3 hours to complete
I am trying to calculate downtime for a Service Level Agreement.
The data that I have is the start date/time and the resolved date/time for an incident.
The data are in the format - 1/1/2008 03:32 AM. The incidents may occur at any time but downtime is calculated only business hours and excludes weekends. I may be required to exclude holidays but that is not a hard requirement right now. What I must be able to specify are the working hours.
As example(s) - if an incident is generated on 1/2/2008 4:00 PM and resolved at 1/3/2008 11:00 AM then the downtime is 4 hours. - if an incident is generated on 1/12/2008 4:00 PM (which is a Sat) and resolved at 1/14/2008 11:00 AM (which is Monday) then the downtime is 3 hours.
The above assumes working hours are 8:00 AM through 5:00 PM.
I have tried using the NETWORKDAYS and WORKDAY functions with little success.
I have a requirement of calculating time spent on ticket, basically a difference between the time a ticket was logged and when it was resolved.
First, working days are Saturday through Wednesday, i.e weekends are Thursday & Friday.
Second, there are different resolver groups or teams which work on a ticket. These teams have different working hours, some work from 07:30 to 15:30 on weekdays, and others work 24/7. Each ticket will be assigned only to one resolver group.I also need to consider holidays.
So, my requirement is to check the resolver group for each ticket, and decide the working hours based on it. After this check has to be done for holidays, and then difference between logged time and resolved time needs to caluculated in minutes.
Tickets can be logged at any time of the day / week, it may not always be logged during working hours only. in such cases calculate should consider next business day / hour as the start time.
Raw data for tickets is available in =Sheet1!$A$1:$E$21
I have a spreadsheet that has columns of monthly values for three years of financial data and where the values for the latest month are added to the last column. Months that have not been completed will have a zero value (e.g. Jul-09).
I am looking for a formula that looks at a date and could add business days to it.
for example:
If the date in a field is Monday, 15-dec-08 and my formula is to add 5 Business days (mon-fri) to it not including that date. The desired result would be Monday, 22-dec-08 but my formula gives me 20-dec-08
i work dispatch at a company and we're trying to track how long it takes for a technician to arrive on-site. my worksheet currently includes the date of call-in (E1) , time of call-in (F1), Service Date (G1), Service Time (H1), among many other field. the easy solution is to use the formula (G1+H1)-(E1+F1), and use the answer as the total amount of time, but the problem is if a customer call in at 3:00 PM and we service them at 9:00 AM the following day, it looks like it took 18 hours to arrive on-site, when in reality, since we close at 5:00 PM and open at 9:00 AM, we only took 2 hours to arrive on-site. is there any formula i can write to account for non-business hours and weekends, or is this a bit above what i should expect from excel?
Where i want add Business Hours/Days to get the Target Date.
Working hours: 8:00 AM to 19:00 PM
Urgency Type:
ND (Maximum 1 Day 11 hours) 3D (Maximum 3 Day 11 hours) 4D (Maximum 4 Day 11 hours) 5D (Maximum 5 Day 11 hours) Threshhold - 16:30 PM Weekends to be Excluded.
Holidays to be Excluded based on Country. Say I have 2 countries India and America, where America has holiday on 12/24/2012 but India does not have holiday on that Day. Hence while calculating Tgt date, India should be calculated normally, for America holiday date need to excluded(There will be a Holiday table based on the countries, not limited to 2 countries).
ex: 1) A ticket opened at 12/26/2012 8:56 AM; Target date will be 12/26/2012 19:00, in this case its 1 day 10:04 hours added to the Opened Time.
2) A ticket opened at 12/26/2012 16:56 PM; Target date will be 12/29/2012 19:00, in this case ticket opened after threshold time of 16:30, Technically ticket should start from next day i.e 12/28/2012 8:00 AM and 1 day 11 hours added to this date.
3) A ticket opened at 12/26/2012 7:56 AM(Before the begin of Working hours); Target date will be 12/26/2012 19:00, in this case its 1 day 11:00 hours added to the Opened Time.
4) A ticket opened at 12/21/2012 17:56 PM(After Threshold time); Target date will be 12/24/2012 19:00, in this case its 1 day 11:00 hours added to the Opened Time. If the above ticket belonged to America, then holiday dates(both 24 & 25) need to be skipped and Tgt date will be 12/27/2012 19:00.
Here is the Sample Data
Country Ticket Start Date/ Time Tgt Date/Time Expected Tgt Date/ Time
America ID000123 12/21/2012 18:20
[code]....
I need results to be appear in the "Tgt Date/Time" column. I have also provided results in "Expected Tgt Date/ Time".
I would like to move columns to the right as the date changes. For example, the top of the column has the current date. Within the column are about 40 rows of data. as the date changes, I would like that column to automatically move to the right and show that column with yesterday's date, and have that data associated along with it moved. I am looking for 6 months of columns to store, with the current date in the first column and subsequently moving right with the previous dates and info.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ August 7, 2012 | August 6, 2012 | August 5, 2012 | August 4, 2012 | August 3, 2012 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Accepted Processed Accepted Rejected Accepted Processed Processed ... and so on
I have a spreadsheet that contains dates in format mm/dd/yyyy. Lets call this Column C(Paydate). In Column A I have a date that needs to be a 2 business days before the paydate. If this date in column A winds up being a Saturday or Sunday, the function needs to return the previous Friday. If the date is any weekday then it should return that weekday
For example: C1 = 10/18/2013(a Friday) then A1=10/16/2013 C2 = 10/14/2013(a Monday) then A2= 10/11/2013(the previous Friday since 2 days before 10/14/2013 is a Saturday) C3 = 10/15/2013(a Tuesday) then A3= 10/11/2013(the previous Friday since 2 days before 10/15/2013 is a Sunday)
What calculation would I enter in a results cell if I wanted to find the delta between 2 times in date format that repersent just the business hours of 8am-5pm, therefore excluding after hours and weekends.
eg.
Date 1 Date 2 Result Time 23/07/07 8:00 24/07/07 14:55 15:55
So far I can't get the caluclation that will compensate for the after hours and week ends.
