Check If The Values Of A List Are In Progressive Order
Jan 18, 2013
I have several series of 13 figures (from 0 to 20), such as :
000141833000001
I would like to filter those series with the following condition :
Each figure (except the zeros) should be higher or equal to the first figure (found on the right) which is not a zero.
In the example :
14 should be higher or equal to 18 : FALSE
8 should be higher or equal to 3 : TRUE
3 should be higher or equal to 3 : TRUE
3 should be higher or equal to 1 : TRUE
So, the serie is FALSE, due to the fact that 14 is not higher than 18.
I have a sheet which contains a list of products. I have created a check box next to each name with the linked cell in the adjecent column. I have formatted the cell so you can see the TRUE or FLASE.
I need to be able to select different products and then when I run a macro, it places all of the selected products onto the second sheet. I just need it so it lists the products in column A with no blank rows.
Can this be done using Index/Match? Would a macro which achieves all this be possible?
Each row in Table 1 represents an "Expanded" array formula.
In Table 2 I have a "Running" formula to return progressive max values working Left to right.
My question is, can this be written as an array?
Returning something on these lines ... {(IF(B1="","",MAX($B1:B1))),(IF(C1="","",MAX($B1:C1))),(IF(D1="","",MAX($B1:D1))),(IF(E1="","",MAX($B1:E1))), etc.}
Drag B7 across and down to see what the array should contain for each row in Table 1

I would like to know if it is possible to have in a single cell the information about the presence of an error in the List1, because a cell of List1 got a value that is not in List2.
I mean all cells in List1 have to contains the same values of List2. It is like a data validation. But it would be nice to have a single cell with "There is an error in your range".
I use a Check Box method to print different sheets within same Workbook. I have a total of 18 Check boxes each check box represents a different sheet that can be selected, but I noticed if one sheet has a lot more data or photos than another it takes a longer to send to printer and in turn causes it to lag behind, at which it causes it to fall out of order. Is there a way to keep it in numeral order or ?
1. first I export data and directly paste in the "RAWDATA" Sheet. 2.There are 50 columns and each has header like Clientname, date,Id,campaign, websitename, frequecncy etc. 3.Exported data does not have same order 4.so when I paste data in excel I check manually if orders are in correct or not?which takes my long time to review/manually check
Using macro or something else to review the order and if any discrepancy then raise error? Need Excel to check order of columns ?
How do I list selected data by order of appearance in a list?
Suppose I have a named range somewhere in my workbook called "TeamsRanked".
This range contains hundreds of names. The data associated with each of these names appears in a table in the workbook in rank order. The teams are ranked in descending order according to points scored. This means that the ROW() for the HIGHER-Ranked teams will be LOWER than the ROW() for the LOWER-Ranked teams. Also, this named range is constantly being resorted as updated data is introduced.
Now...Suppose I want to monitor just a few of the names??
For example: Cells A1:A3 on a separate worksheet contain the names of the teams I want to monitor.
What formula do I need in Cell A5 to return the HIGHEST ranked of the teams in Cells A1:A3?? ...in Cell A6, to return the next highest ranked. ...in Cell A7, to return the LOWEST ranked.
I tried some IF(ROW(MATCH...)) ---"is less than" ---IF(ROW(MATCH...)) formulas...and I keep getting INVALIDs in my formula palette.
It now requires a special chart, I am trying to replicate what this other program does, but is slightly corrupted and it's chart section does not seem to work on XP. The program was made in DOS so I can't provide a Print-Screen shot to show how it looks. If it gets too confusing describing the graph, I have to get XP to somehow run a DOS program correctly so the graph may appear to get a Print-Screen shot. The chart shows the "best 3" NEGATIVE rise in a progression and the rising lines are colored in red. If the other values are POSITIVE, it shows a fall in Blue. ( black background). So if the value of Item 1 is -17.5% and the next Item 2 is -12%, then the red line of Item 1 will show the highest.
BUT, it sort of follows the line back from the OVERALL percent values at the end of the calculation from the start of the first percent value, it's first entry. I have included a sample sheet, all I need to know if a progressive chart can be created with the way I have positioned the numbers, if not let me know how the numbers need to be positioned and it's simply a matter of me making a few changes in the workbook that processes the sums to suit. Finally, the amount of entries can be anywhere from 3 to 30, I have shown in the example 9 entries. The purpose is to show a progression of price changes using percents as the indicators.
I have a problem with the formula that lookup all values in ascending order and returning all the corresponding values. eg: I was intended to lookup for the value in ascending order under the Total Occurrence and returning all the corresponding value under the Nos Group but encountered the same Nos Group was returned when there is same value appeared under the Total Occurrence.
I am running a sales spreadsheet that requires sales entered each day. I use a simple formula to run a continuous total starting at Monday and ending Sunday (1st cell for sales input is B4, second D4, third F4 and so on. 1st Cell for accumulated sales is C4, second E4 and third G4 and so on.
I use B4+D4 to caluculate the running total in E4 or example, and to eliminate that total appearing in G4 where the next formula is B4+D4+F4 I precede that with an IF formula IF(E4=0,'', ). This way I only show the current Week to date totals, not the upcoming days in the rest of the week. My problem lies in Holidays. If for instance D4, the Tuesday was a holiday and I enter either "holiday" or just leave it blank, the rest of the weeks formula will not work. I get a Value message. How can I achieve my goal of getting a daily week to date total without having it show in the upcoming days AND have a holiday in there too?
I have a column of data showing trade results - in the most basic way I can explain, as my account value GROWS by a preset amount (say 20-30%) how can I ADD to the number of contracts I am trading. For example I start with $10,000 and the account grows to $12,000 or 20% - according to my own trading rules, this allows me to ADD an additional contract to trade (I start with 1 contract). As the account continues to grow progressively 20% from the previous 20% jump, I add ANOTHER contract.
and to top this off, I do the same in reverse, If I lose or go into a drawdown .. how do I reduce my number of contracts traded?? so lets say I am up to trading 4 contracts and I lose say 10% of the account value - I want to slow down or "ease up" the number of contracts until I get the account back to its previous high. Anyone know how this can be programmed??
One last final caveat - when you go on a winning streak, I add for every 20% INCREASE in the account value and when I lose I reduce contracts at every 10% pullback to preserve winnings as much as possible.but I am ALWAYS allowed to trade a MINIMUM of 1 contract
I came across the solution to this post - [URL] ..... - and was just wondering how to adjust the formula so that it calculates the correct tax starting from the net amount.
Say for example, an employee is paid a fixed, after-tax salary amount, and the employer is responsible for covering the tax - the salary payment needs to be "grossed-up" to calculate the correct amount of tax.
With 'tax brackets' as follows:
Taxable incomeTax on income (2011 – 2012)Tax rate $0 – $6,000Nil0% $6,001 – $37,00015c for each $1 over $6,00015% $37,001 – $80,000$4,650 plus 30c for each $1 over $37,00030% $80,001 – $180,000$17,550 plus 37c for each $1 over $80,00037% Over $180,000$54,550 plus 45c for each $1 over $180,00045%
The formula to calculate tax, starting from the gross amount, is:
I am looking for a Macro that would randomly select 20 items from my inventory list for performing spot checks. Column F of Active Coil Log tab is where the data would need to pull from, however I would like all data in the row to go along with it. I've explored the RAND functions, but they don't seem to be the right fit .
The find value will always be the same...its just a placeholder that is randomly inserted. (currently i am using the value "Placeholder"). basically in column B i want to insert the iteration of the Place holder. the attached spreadsheet better illustrates what i am trying to do. starting the count at zero is kind of important, but not the end of the world if it is impossible.
get sorting out top 3 clients with the total amount.
A B C
1 Company Name Value
2 Apple 2100
3 Mango 4000
I found that =LARGE only work for single cell name with single value instead of multiple cell that may contain same name but different value and add them up.
I have a worksheet with data in several rows. Column wise they consist of names, points etc..
I am trying to setup a formula whereby the formula looks at the data in the points columns and then re-orders the rows accordingly taking all the information in the row with it, with the highest points total at the top and lowest points total at the bottom.
Each points cell, has a formula in there already which pulls the points total from other cells and combines them.
i have a excel database made up of about 5000, points of interest every thing from nightclubs, pubs police stations, restaurants, etc all in alphabetical order A TO Z my database read like this
COLUMN A COLUMN B COLUMN C COLUMN D COLUMN E COLUMN F POINT NAME ADDRESS POSTCODE TYPE DETAILS ONEWAY ST odeon cinema leicester sq WC2 cinema lve on left no
COLUMN G IMFOMATION lve cinema on left this is next to the raddison hotel
what i would like to do is change the order so that every thing is listed in post code order W1 W2 W3 W4 EC1 EC2 EC3 EC4 WC1 WC2 etc so that i can search in pacific post code
suppose when i add 1 in the quantity, it will appear on the "Order for EMS" and "Order for FEDEX" but now they show #NAME?, what's wrong, it's not happen before, why?
Now the list is, if the quantity column for the "Productx" is >=1 than whole row will add to the "Order", if not skip it, i have the formula in the "Order" block A2.
i will have about 6-7 list for "product", now in my file is only 2 Product list (Product1, Product2) and now i want to add more for this, like Product3, Product4....... so i think i need to add program for this and also some expert user also tell me need to add VBA for this.
I want to now paste this data vertically (so transpose which there is a handy check off box for) BUT ALSO to Reverse the data so vertically it now reads :
16.7 (in cell A1 for ex) 14.5 (In cell B1 for ex) 13.2 (In cell C1) 12.3 (In cell D1)
Is there a way to paste special reverse the order of numbers?
I have an excel sheet with 30 names in column A and I'm asked to do the following: Write a procedure – a sub – that uses an input box to ask for a name. The procedure should then scan through the names in the list to search for the name and make a message box to state “X is not in the group” or “X is in the group”, where X is the name from the input box. HINT: You can make a variable “found” that starts with the value 0 and gets the value 1 if the name is found in the list.
I have the below code that sorts a list of Doors that I have in row C17 downwards. Door 54, Door 7, Door 109 etc. The list is feeding a drop down box, people find the door they were looking for, in the said drop down box.
Code:
Sub ListSorter() Dim LastRow As Long LastRow = Range("C" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).row
[Code]....
I wondered if there was some code I could add to the end of this, that would the sort worksheets, which are all named after each cell in the list, in the same order.
