Check Errors In Set Of Values Based On List Of Data?

Here below the case:
List1 in Sheet1:
TEST1
TEST2
TEST1
TEST3
TEST8
List2 in Sheet2:
TEST1
TEST2
TEST3
TEST4
TEST5
I would like to know if it is possible to have in a single cell the information about the presence of an error in the List1, because a cell of List1 got a value that is not in List2.
I mean all cells in List1 have to contains the same values of List2. It is like a data validation. But it would be nice to have a single cell with "There is an error in your range".

If I go any of the cells in that column, the VBA code page opens up and I get the following message:

I have a calculation to do (see cell Q4 on image attached) where the variables to enter are s1,g1, s2,g2 etc.... In some cases I will only have s1 and g1 and the rest (s2,g2 etc...) will be zeros. As you can guess I cannot put 0's because I will get errors, however I can not either put a empty cell.
So this is why I want to create my first subroutine, where the variables will be from F5 to P5 and be able to drag down the formula to compute the same calculation for the lower rows.

I have several series of 13 figures (from 0 to 20), such as :
000141833000001
I would like to filter those series with the following condition :
Each figure (except the zeros) should be higher or equal to the first figure (found on the right) which is not a zero.
In the example :
14 should be higher or equal to 18 : FALSE
8 should be higher or equal to 3 : TRUE
3 should be higher or equal to 3 : TRUE
3 should be higher or equal to 1 : TRUE
So, the serie is FALSE, due to the fact that 14 is not higher than 18.

I have a list of abbreviations in Sheet 2 and Names of Companies (Full name of Company and short name) in Sheet 1.
What I need to do is check if the abbreviation used in the Short Name Field in Sheet 1 is correct based on the given abbreviation list in Sheet 2.
here is the example:

The function below should return the value in a cell IF the string in the cell two cells to the left of it is "Nemo" Omitting the part highlighted in blue, my function returns a list of unique values...but when it's included, nothing is returned at all. Perhaps, there is an error in the syntax that I'm overlooking?

I have a tab with different city names and then a a series of answers to a number of different questions, what I need to do is create a macro which looks a table on a different tab, and if column b matches any of the words in the table to then print that entire row of answers.
So if the information found in R1!M3:M21 is found in Results!B:B then print that row to sheet R1. If the information found in R2!M3:M22 is found in Results!B:B then print to sheet R2 etc.
This is the only other way I could describe it, however I don't think it can be done as a formula anyway (even though it is somewhat gibberish)
IF(ISNUMBER(SEARCH(R1!M3:M21,Results!B:B))print the row,move onto next row)

I have included my budget so helpers can see it. I am trying creating a formula on mini-dashboard on A8 (Under the total budgeted amount) that will check the total budgeted amount based on the values I enter on the categories sheet. Of course it will be controlled using the drop down menu on A2 on mini-dashboard. I thought I had this working with a sumif function but it seems to have quit working.

troubleshooting dependent validation list formula. I found the Ozgrid instructions for the Dependent Validation Lists to be verfy informative and I downloaded the "MatchingLists.xls" to use as a starting point.
My challenge is this: The MatchingLists.xls example does not take into account that there may be MULTIPLE dependent lists that have spaces, numbers and other unique characters in the list's source celles. Therefore, I have decided to reference a NameLookup (named range) that has an abbrevieated name for each each item (without numbers & spaces) I am nesting VLOOKUP within the INDIRECT formula to achieve the results I need - but for some reason it fails occasionally and I do not know how to troubleshoot!
Data Validation Source =INDIRECT(VLOOKUP(SUBSTITUTE(E5," ","_"),NameLookup,2,0))
Excel's Data Validation simply returns the message "The source currently evaluates to an error". This is frustrating becuase it is not consistent. It works with some lists and not with others. How do I troubleshoot???
My worksheet is attached for your reference. The source data for the dependent lists is on the Lists sheet. The dependent drop-downs are in columns E-H on the drop-down sheet. The formula that I am having trouble with is in "Subcategory" (column F). For some reason, I cannot choose category "26_Heat_Exchangers" to populate the subcategories. There are a few other categories that this formula breaks on and I don't know why. Please tell me this is not some crazy limitation with Named Ranges.

I have a dynamic named range which allows me to have an automatically growing drop down list in B1 as more cities are added in column A. however, my workbook will have N/A errors to begin with before cities are added.
is there a way for my drop down list in B1 not to include the N/A errors and only the cities? of course when the next N/A error turns into a city, i would like the B1 drop down list to recognise this and include it.

I'm trying to use data validation to restrict the user to only selecting values in a list which I create. Right now, the list is a named range. I'd like to get rid of the range and just use a named list. I create a name using the following as my list.
Insert > Name > Create
Name: Fruit
Refers to:
banana,apple,orange
When I try to use the name Fruit in my data validation, I get the message "The List Source must be a delimited list, or a reference to single row or column." I thought my name "fruit" was a delimited list.

I am attempting to count how many cells have different values in a table while not counting the N/A's and 0's found in the table. From what I'm finding online, I see lots of formulas set up with frequency functions, but none of them are set up to exclude anything - just find unique values. I need to count the cells with values other than 0 and N/A going across each row and not count the same value twice
Here's an example of what the table looks like (the real one is over 1,000 rows and 50 columns) with column C being where the formula needs to go. I put what I would like to have returned in the cells.

I'm trying to create a drop down list which returns values based on what has been selected in the previous drop down list in the adjacent cell, e.g. if 'Apples' is selected in the previous cell then you should only be able to select from 'Gala, Granny Smith', or if 'Oranges' is selected you should only be able to select 'Seville, Blood Orange'. Is there a formula which would do this, or can I use a pivot table somehow? I'm totally stumped.

I have 400 source files containing (among others) 8 sheets with daily results: "Fri 23", "Mon 26", "Tue 27", "Wed 28", "Thu 29", "Fri 30", "Sat 31 (if applicable)", "Mon 2".
Each sheet contains also:
State - D1
Role - D2
Staff ID - D3
Date - D4
Activity group name in column A (starting from row 8)
Activity type in column B (merged with C and D) (starting from row 8)
Activity time in columns E:GV (starting from row 8). Usually, there is none or only one value in whole range (e.g. E8:GV8). But sometimes there are two values.
Customer ID in row 6 (value appears only if time was reported in E:GV range)
CC Number in row 7 (value appears only if time was reported in E:GV range)
It's all about transferring values from all daily sheets in all files (.xls) sitting in folder C:WADFinal to one simple table (WAD_Consolidation_file.xls, sheet "Consolidated") consisted of 9 columns: Staff ID, Role, State, Date, Activity Group, Activity Type, Minutes, Customer ID, CC Number.
Additional note if two values exist in the same row they should be copied as two separate entries to consolidation file.

I am trying to create a drop down list that when selected will display data in the 10 rows below and 4 columns, so a total of 40 cells. I would like the data to be based on the selection in the drop down list.

I need a way to find a value in a column which has one or more corresponding values in an adjacent column. Then take all of the corresponding values found and count all occurrences of the found values in another column. But I only want to count the entries if an adjacent column is not blank.
Not the easiest thing to describe. Starting to wonder if I need to think in reverse. I hope the attached example makes more sense.

I have created a drop down list of various material sizes what I am needing to do is to select a material size from the drop down list and a corresponding value is input into the cell. So on say sheet two (Data Sheet) I have Cell A1 25x25 with Cell B1 100, Cell A2 30x30 with Cell B2 120 and so on. On sheet 1 Cell A1 has my drop down list being the material size ie 25x25, so what I need to happen is if I select 25x25 then Cell B1 is 100 or if I select 30x30 then cell B1 is 120.

Ok what I am trying to do is lookup a value in a table (kinda like one below but alot bigger). What I plan on doing is creating a drop down list for the rows that show "A, B, C etc) and then another drop down for (AA, BB, CC etc).
So lets say the 2 drop-down list are set to C and BB
I want to be able to fill another cell with the value -134
I would use If statements but like I said the table would be alot bigger than example. If possible I would rather not use VBA due to work security settings.

I am trying to create a Excel file for my job. I work in a warehouse where I have many different orders all of which are made up of various different numbers of items and priorities. For example:
Order 1 = 45 items, Priority 1
Order 2 = 78 items, Priority 1
Order 3 = 48 items, Priority 2
Order 4 = 34 items, Priority 3
The total number of items is divided by the number of staff to give each staff member a total for the evening.
I plan to have a list of these orders in the excel file.
What I would then like to do is to have each staff member allocated orders so that the their total is reached. The sheet would automatically allocate orders to each person from the list of orders so that based on priority first then by the largest number of items to the smallest.
I think this should be a fairly simple sheet to create and I have a view of creating an application for it if I can get it working.

I have 2 Fields (Columns) and I have implemented Validation Lists in both these 2 columns.
I have around 10 values in Column A which are available in the List and have around 50 values in Column B in the List.
In other words, one of the five values or items can be selected for a single and unique value in Column A.
is it possible to call one of these 5 values in Column B depending upon the selection of the value in Column A ? Both the columns have validation lists.

I'm new to excel and was trying to make a workbook that will have a drop down list populate based on a user input in two separate cells. Basically, i have columns: name, pages, and books. I would like to have the drop down list match data by first finding the amount of books read, then finding the amount of pages read. Then any name that meets the criteria will be available in the drop down list. How can I do this?

I am trying to copy a spreadsheet i made in google docs in excel keeping the same functionality. Since the formulas are a bit different between the two, i can not simply copy the codes so i must start from scratch. The basics of my spreadsheet is that i have (3) columns: A master list, A filtered list, and an input list. I want the filtered list to change based on the values in the inputted list.
ColA = Input list
ColB = Filtered list
ColC = Master list
Items:
Orange
Red
Blue
Yellow
Green
ColA contains the colors i manually enter
ColB contains all the items in ColC that are NOT already listed in ColA (except for Red, i dont what that showing up)
ColC contains ALL the items above.
Two Examples of a functional worksheet:
ColA............ColB
Orange........Blue
Green..........Yellow
ColA........ColB
Orange....Blue
.............Yellow
.............Green
ColB is where the magic happens, it grows and shrinks based on the values in both the master list ColC and the input list ColA
