Command Button To Hide Rows Based On Date Range In Column A
Aug 22, 2014
In one spreadsheet, I want to have a command button that will hide all rows where the date column (column A) shows a date older than one week from today. When this button is clicked again, all rows will unhide again. Preferably the Command button title would change to reflect whether it is on the hide or show cycle (for example "Click to Hide all older than one week" and then "Click to Show all events") .

I have a command button on a worksheet, not in a user form. I know the command button has a property called Visible that I can manually set to False.
I want to set this property to False if the value of the B3 cell is less than 2.000

How to hide command button based on another cell?’ [URL] .....
This works faultlessly but for only 1 Button. I tried adding in the code again for a second Button but it creates a conflict. I made a slight adjustment to your original code, to show the button when the cell is populated, which works well…
[Code] .....
Any way I can:-
1. Add additional buttons which reference their own cell?
CommandButton4 – H9
CommandButton6 – I9
CommandButton2 – Q9
CommandButton3 – S9
2. And add one button which activates based on one of 3 cells?
CommandButton1 – J9 &/or V9

What i am trying to do is make a command button appear when you hit any cell of the row its on. For example, If you were to hit any cell on rows 1 or 2 the command button will appear and when I am not on the visible property goes back to false. I have a ton of buttons on this sheet and I am trying to clean it up so buttons only appear as needed.

I currently am using a form button to create new rows.
I need two different kind of buttons. I have a button that does this-
VB:
Sub InsertRow()
'this inserts a row where the button is clicked.
Dim r As Range
[Code]....
However, when I try and create these codes using a Command button (I need it for the color), I get the error
"unable to get the buttons property of the Worksheet class"
P.S one other thing, say the button is in row 3, and Cells A1 and A2 are merged, when you click the button in row 3, it should extend the merge to A3.

I need to write a macro that will hide several rows if a calculated date's month is not within the month of the report.
Example:
If month of date in cell B20 is not the same as the month of date in cell A5
then hide rows 20 thru 30 if it is the same month, display rows 20 thru 30.
I need to do this comparison twice. If month of date in cell B40 is not the same as the month of date in cell A5 then hide rows 40 thru 50 if it is the same month, display rows 40 thru 50. The dates in B20 and B40 are the result of a calculations (Date in cell A5 plus some number of days) if that makes any difference. I don't think it should.

I wrote some simple code to work through a number of rows and hide the rows which contain a value of "XXX". For some reason, when the code hits the line denoted with? it hides the first row of "XXX"'s but then starts all over again at very first line of code outside the loop.
Sheet1. Range("start_1").Select 'cell c53
Do Until ActiveCell.Value = "EOF" 'cell c266
If ActiveCell.Value = "XXX" Then
Selection.EntireRow.Hidden = True '????
ActiveCell.Offset(1, 0).Select
Else
ActiveCell.Offset(1, 0).Select
End If
Loop

I am building a sheet to display deadlines (rows) by project (columns). I would like to have it automatically hide the rows and columns based on the date of the deadline. If the deadline is today or 1 week from today the associated rows and columns should be visible, otherwise, I would like to hide them.
My table is A1:N9, with A1 being a blank, row names A2:A9, and column names B1:N1.

I am trying to implement the following:
After the user selects something using the validation list in cell F38, the macro should check in column Q in the rows 44 till 425 for "hide". For each row in which it finds "hide" the entire row should be hidden.
I have the code below but it does't work yet. It calculates for ages and afterwards only the first 2 rows of the 381 are hidden (probably because the third row is not "hide").
Code:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
Dim MyRange As Range
Dim ThisCell As Range
Target = Range("F38")
[code].....

I have read several related threads and tried to adapt their answers to my application with no success. I am trying to write a macro that will hide rows based on that row's value in a certain column. Specifically, column AB contains sums and if a sum equals 0 I want to hide that row. The sums start at AB5 and go to AB118 but there are 4 gaps in the column at rows 25, 47, 70, and 94.

End If
Next i

What I have is a sheet where the cells in range A9:A3508 have a formula that evaluates to blank if any of a variety of conditions are not met (date falls outside desired range, does not meet filter criteria, etc.) and a number if these conditions are met. What I am looking for is for all rows in that range where A is blank to be hidden (not deleted), and for this to automatically update every time A changes (meaning that if A goes from blank to a number, that I will need that row to become unhidden again). I have considered just recording the macro and calling the function with a button, but as this is for external users, some of whom may be unfamiliar with Excel, I would rather keep it as clean, simple, and automatic as possible.

I am very new to VBA. I need to have a code that will hide/unhide cells based on a date range.
Cell A1 contains the formula for todays date, based on that answer, I want to hide/unhide columns based on a weekly date range.
Ex.:
Today is 03/18/2014 I want excel to say If A1(Today) is greater than 03/14/2014 and less than or equal to 03/21/2014 then unhide column E and hide the rest.
Then let's say Today is 03/22/2014. I want excel to say If A1(Today) is greater than 03/21/2014 and less than or equal to 03/28/2014 then unhide column F and hide the rest.
columns in questions are D-AC

Operating System: Windows XP, Excel version: 2003
Aim: To create a Macro to hide all rows where the date in column D is before today. Column D has about 600 rows.
Current solution:
Code:
Sub Hide_Old2()
'Worksheet name
With Worksheets("Schedule")
'set start of date range
Set rngStart = .Range("D2")
'find end of date range
[Code] .....
The problem with this solution is its speed, or lack thereof. It causes the screen to hang and flicker while it cylces through. Is there some way to create a range based on the date and hide the range? or another solution?
Note: Autofilter is not an option, as the spreadsheet with the dates needs to be kept simple for other stakholders and the macro is being run from another sheet.

When macro is run via button rows on Sheet2 from 10-20 would be hidden. The issue is the values in the cells on Sheet1 will vary. I thought something like the following would work but it doesn't.

I have a pivot table with the column fields as dates. I will like to be able to use VB to dictate which value to show. Here is brief code in which I just recorded...
Sub Button1_Click()
Range("B7").Select
With ActiveSheet.PivotTables("PivotTable1").PivotFields("Date")
.PivotItems("10/30/2006").Visible = False
.PivotItems("10/31/2006").Visible = True
End With
End Sub
I would like to show current day only using =today() or something similar. THis would eliminate the user having to modify the pivot tables daily.

I want to create a command button on one worksheet so that when I click it a pop up box asks the user for the date and this date is input automatically into a specified cell on another worksheet.
I have got this far - which makes my data input box pop up but now I need adding in code to put that data in a certain cell - for example Cell B1 in worksheet Daily Tasks.
Private Sub CommandButton12_Click()
Dim ans As String
ans = InputBox("Enter date dd/mm/yy", "Data Entry")
End Sub

I have a monthly log that I need to keep to track expenses and customers visited. The log is segmented into 12 parts corresponding with each month.
I need to be able to add multiple lines via an input box while maintaining the formulas and formatting of the 2 rows directly above the forms command button (because both lines are filled with a different color) but not the contents?
There will be 12 command buttons in all and the new rows should be added at the bottom (directly above where the button is)
I found this and it works to some extent.
Sub FromFormsCommandBar2()
Dim Btn As Button
with ActiveSheet
Set Btn = .Buttons(application.caller)
btn.topleftcell.entirerow.insert
end with
End Sub

I have a user form with combo boxes. The user selects items from the combo box and when they click the command button the selection is written to the spreadsheet. Each time the button is clicked it adds an item to the sheet making a list of items. I am trying to assign a number to each item when the command button is clicked so I have numbered list. Here is my code so far:
Private Sub cmdbtnAdd_Click()
Dim RowCount As String
'Writes user inputs to Active Worksheet when Add Item Button is clicked.
RowCount = Worksheets("Sheet1").Range
("A1").CurrentRegion.Rows.Count
With Worksheets("Sheet1").Range("A1")
.Offset(RowCount, 0).Value = ' This is where I have been trying to code in the numbering
.Offset(RowCount, 1).Value = Me.Combobox1
.Offset(RowCount, 2).Value = Me.ComboBox2
End With
End Sub
