I've got the following macro which I used to copy and transpose an array of data from a 'working' workbook (data in columns) to a 'summary' workbook (data in rows). This worked great in excel 2003 as I used all the columns available (ie. up to IV).
I've run into a problem now I'm using Excel 2007 as there are now significantly more columns. The macro is now trying to copy and transpose every single column in the workbook and is taking a ridiculous amount of time.
How would I adjust this macro so that it only copied a set number of columns? I'd like it to copy only up to column ATV in working.
Sub test()
Dim i As Integer, n As Long
Sheets("summary").Columns("b:iv").Clear
For i = 7 To Columns.Count Step 3
n = n + 1
With Sheets("working").Cells(8, i).Resize(11)
Sheets("summary").Cells(n + 2, "b").Resize(.Columns.Count, .Rows.Count) _
.Value = Evaluate("if(transpose(working!" & .address & ")=0,"""",transpose(working!" & .Address & "))")
End With
Next
End Sub
The solution to a challenge here does almost exactly what I need except it doesn't manage partial matches.
Function MatchColors(strValue As String, rngList As Range) As String Dim regEx, Matches, i, strResult, bFlag
'Create and set the parameters for the regular expressions object Set regEx = CreateObject("vbscript.regexp") regEx.Global = True regEx.IgnoreCase = True
I created this code in Excel 2007 now i want to put it on my other users machines they are using Excel 2003 and i keep getting debug errors can someone help
Sub setup() ' Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+C 'add sheet Sheets.Add After:=Sheets(Sheets.Count) 'format headers With Range("A1") .Value = "Job Name" .Name = "Arial" End With With Range("A2") .Value = "Quote #" .Name = "Arial" End With With Range("A3") .Value = "Job #" .Name = "Arial"
I have 450 names for which I would like to create email addresses. For example:
Name: John Doe Required email address: John.Doe@boston.gov.tr
Is there a way to convert all 450 names in one go so I can then upload to MS Outlook and then send emails to these people? I am using MS Excel 2003 & 2007.
I am migrating a bookkeepping spreadsheet from Quattro v12 (c2001) to Excel 2007 and have hit a stone wall over relative 3-D references.
In this workbook each sheet holds data for one month, and this includes some lagging-12-month calculations -- that is, summing a range on a single cell for the preceding 12 sheets (including this one).
Unexpectedly, this formula: =ISUM('201206:201305'!M6)
gives absolute references, even though I put in no dollar signs after the sheet names. This means it gives the wrong answer when copied to the next sheet to start a new month.
I can find no reference at all to converting the above formula from absolute to relative reference.
How to make EXCEL 2007 Automatically convert all my CURRENCY symbols in all cells formatted for CURRENCY in THE SAME SHEET to the one and ONLY currency selected in JUST ONE cell ? (i mean, after conversion, all of them are Not just display currency symbols, but Calculable monetary values like regular Excel's built-in currency format)
I am a dummy in VBA so I really am not familiar at all if the solution is really one of VBA. I don't even know how to start programming VBA at all in Excel.
I have a button with a macro assigned. The macro needs to create a new worksheet at the end of the workbook, rename the new sheet to "New County", make the cell size match the rest of the workbook, and then paste in a template from another sheet called "Master".
I recorded a macro that does this, but it has a static reference to the new sheet instead of what ever the new sheet is. So the Macro works one time, but never again. I'm sure this is an easy fix, and perhaps there is a much easier way to do this, but my limited VBA knowledge is hampering me.
Code:
Sub AddNewCounty() ' ' AddNewCounty Macro ' Adds a new County sheet to the workbook. ' '
I have a string of data coming from a SQL Server data connection into my workbook. The value in the column is a text string that is pipe delimited. I need a macro to parse the data from that column into applicable separate columns. I would typically use text to columns for this and parse it out manually... but the tool I'm creating is one of the automated variety, so that will not suffice for this application. I need it to do this automatically when the data connection refreshes.

I recently installed Excel 2007, and have shared others' joy in searching for things on the ribbon. I tried to record a macro to insert an autoshape. Excel creates the macro, but drawing the autoshape is not recorded. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious ...
I'm looking for the VBA command for this function. I tried just recording a macro in where I perform the task but it didn't record anything. Tried it several times even.
I got a copy of Office 2007 and I am having some trouble running an Excel macro. It gives a 405 Error message. This macro runs fine on my Office 2003. Is there any extra setting that I need to do in the Excel 2007?
I have converted an Excel file from 2003 to 2007. The file now has a .xlsm extension as it contains macros. I have "enabled all macros" and "trusted access to the VBA project object model". Whilst open, I have tested the macro buttons and they work.
I then close the file and re-open it, and the macro's will not work. A message appears along the lines of "macros are anabled" or "macro is not found". I have double-checked the settings and everything appears normal.
I saved the workbook as Macro enabled workbook in 2007. Also changed the security level to 'Enable all macro'. But the Macro buttons on the developer tab still shows disabled. Also not able to open VBA window with Alt+F11 key.
This is the first time i am using this forum. I am having a doubt in the macro. I am using MS-Office 2007 version. In Excel 2007 when you go to "developer" tab, the first group is "code" under that when you click on "Macro". You will be able to see a button called "create". Can you tell for what purpose it is used? when it will be "active" because it is always in disabled state.
The code to merge sheets to a master sheet runs great, however when I copy the code to the Personal.XLSB to have the macro available to use on every workbook I’m getting an error. The line of code is Application.Goto DestSh.Cells(1) and the error is Method ‘Goto of object’_Application’failed. This happen even if I create a new workbook with 3 sheets and only a few cells with information. The macro to mail the sheet works fine using the Personal XLSB.
I want to do simple calculation using Macro in MS Excel 2007..
All the data is in Sheet1 ( Which is 13a ), the calculation is in Sheet2 ( Which is work ) and the result of the calculation will come out in Sheet3 ( Which is result )..
I have written a macro to hide any column (within a range of columns) that has an 'x' in it. By putting the 'x' in the column, it allows the allows the user to choose what columns they want to hide. I have an inverse macro as well that unhides those hidden columns.
These macros work perfectly in Excel 2003, but they do not work in Excel 2007. In Excel 2007 I get a compile error: can't find project or library. As a note, all other macros in my spreadsheet (Module 1) work.
I had a macro that worked perfectly by inserting pictures into named ranges throughout the sheet depending on user input. However when I switched to Microsoft Excel 2007, the pictures all go into one cell.
My code looks like this:
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Dim picnme As String Dim rng As Range Dim ArrImg Set rng = Range("B5") picnme = Range("B5")
I only copied in a section of it bit it gets rather repetitive. There are over 50 pictures that get inserted into the spreadsheet and it worked fine in the prior version of excel.
I am trying to put together a standalone VBA macro that can easily be inserted into my financial models that allows me to quickly switch between two different printing setups - e.g. 8.5x 11 and 11x17 tabloid.
A certain macro (or is it a VB script?) in an Excel 2007 spreadsheet has to be manually recalculated every time I open the file. The only way I've found to do this is to click in the formula bar and hit Enter, or else click the green check mark to accept the formula. The spreadsheet is set to recalculate automatically, so I do not understand why this is happening.
Another wrinkle is that I can't locate the specification/definition of the macro. I checked the Developer menu on the ribbon and looked in the Visual Basic and Macros lists, but could not see the definition of the macro in question. Another user created the spreadsheet but I am unable to contact him...
