Linked Sheets, Sort Cells, Blanks To Bottom

I'm using links to pull our sales prospects from our salesmen's individual sheets into one master sheet for reference. Once the prospect information arrives in the sheet, I need it to sort alphabetically by customer name so that we can see which customers have been visited and don't visit the same customer twice.

So far in VB, I've been working on this

But it's not sorting the way that I need to. All I really need is for the sheet to sort automatically by Company Name and for all of the 0's to go to the bottom. They are 'blank' data that will eventually be imported from the salesmen's individual sheets as they encounter new customers.

I'm creating an excel sheet that is linked to several others. Basically my salesmen will enter their new prospects into their own sales sheets and that will transfer via a link to my main one. The problem I'm having is mainly with my sort.

When the information is transferred, I need the sheet to auto sort the Company names alphabetically and move any blank cells to the bottom.

When choosing ascending or decending, is it possible to always keep rows with the designated blank cells at the bottom? Trying to prevent the blank cells from popping on the top when i filter by a certain field.

Macro That Sorts Data With Blanks At The Bottom

I am trying to add a macro that finds a dynamic range (number of rows changing with different data sets) sorts column B, then column A, moving blanks to the bottom. My dilemma is as follows:

I have a template with formulas that cannot be changed (I cannot paste special values, or clear the cells). Column A includes HLOOKUP formulas for cells A14:A120. Column B includes VLOOKUP formulas for cells B14:B120. The different data sets I pull in have different numbers of lines, which is why I need to maintain the formulas. However, I cannot seem to find a way to accurately sort column B first from smallest to largest and then column A from smallest to largest. In all data sets there will be at least a few blank lines that I need to move to the bottom. However, due to the formulas within the cells (column A returns a value of 0 and column B returns a value of “ “), excel does not recognize them as being blank. Here is a sample data set.

Sort Data And Copy Top & Bottom 10 Into New Sheet

I'm looking for a simple piece of code I can use to manipulate the data on the attached workbook. Firstly, I need to be able to sort the data by column O ("Balance"). I then need the code to extract all the information for the top 10 and bottom 10 rows and paste the info into a new worksheet. The code will need to account for the fact the number of rows might increase/decrease with this report.

Copy 2 Linked Sheets Without Links To Original Sheets

I have copied and then pasted & linked numerous cells from one sheet to another within the same workbook. When I copy the 2 sheets (Edit>Move or Copy Sheet>Create Copy) the linked cells on the duplicates remain linked to the original sheet. How can I copy the 2 sheets and have the cells on the copied sheet be linked to the copied sheets and not the original?

So if numbers are sorted the names should be sorted in the same way as well.

Sort Dates Linked To Formulas Also Returning Text

I have a list of football fixtures that I want to pace in date order. The fixtures are however linked to a grid which has the following formula =IF(FIXTURES!C1="","",FIXTURES!C1 )

so that a zero doesn't appear until a result is actually added. Unfortunately when you sort the fixtures into date order the grid still looks at the original square, NOT the moved one appertaining to the fixture.

Linked Up Sheets In Separate Spreadsheet?

I created 14 spreadsheets for each of my call center agents to monitor their metrics. I password protected all then placed the originals on the network. The 14 sheets have 1 cell within them that are linked up to their relevant agent cell in a separate spreadsheet. This spreadsheet is located on the network and automatically updates every hour.

I have monitored the the spreadsheets and updates etc for a while now and everything seemed to be working perfect. So I decided to slowly roll it out by placing a shortcut on 3 agents desktops. I quickly discovered that they were not seeing any updates as I had seen prior to the roll out. I go to the folder within the network and check all spreadsheets and I see all spreadsheets working and updating successfully.

So I thought maybe it was because they were password protected. I removed the protection and the 3 agents saw their spreadsheets update successfully on their computers, the next hour as I had hoped BUT the hour following however they did not see a further update again.

Copying Formulas Linked To Multiple Sheets

I'm working in one workbook with 2 sheets.

sheet 1 have simple values, for example
cell A1:5
Cell A3: 10
Cell A5:15
Cell A7:20
Cell A9:25
Cell A11:30
Cell A13:35
Cell A15:40

In sheet 2 i have the following formulas:
Sheet 2 Cell A1: =Sheet1!A1+Sheet1!A3
Sheet 2 Cell A2: =Sheet1!A5+Sheet1!A7

I need to respect this sequence when copying these 2 formulas in the same sheet 2 cell A3, however when I do that I get the following formula: =Sheet1!A3+Sheet1!A5. While i need it to sum up A9 and A11. i.e respect the order of the first 2 formulas.

Sort Formulae Returning Nothing ("" Empty Text) To Bottom

I have a sheet with a reference field that I want to sort. Each cell in the reference field has a formula in it, which specifies that the cell remain blank unless there is a value in the cell. The values are either text values or number values. e.g. =IF(ISERROR(S4),"",VLOOKUP(C4,'Rider Data'!A:G,6,FALSE))

When I sort the field in ascending order by the column that contains the formula above (using a macro written for this sort procedure), where the expected value is a text value, all the blank cells are sorted ABOVE the cells with text values in them, rather than below, even though they are blank cells. However,if I sort on a different column which contains time values or numerical values, the sort function works just fine. I have tested the VBA code that produces the erroneous sorting and confirmed that it happens only when sorting on columns that contain text values. I would like to sort text values in ascending order with blank cells BELOW the sorted cells.

Excel 2003 :: Conditional Format Top / Mid / Bottom 33% Of Cells But Ignoring Blank Cells

I am trying to conditionally format the top middle and bottom thirds of a range of data. Problem is, that the range needs to be flexible as sometimes there may be a maximum of 36 cells with data, but sometimes there may be less (so there are blank cells in the range that need not be counted). The methods I have tried always include the blank cells, and so it is not equally formatting the thirds (as it includes the blanks cells as part of the bottom data)....

Ignoring Blanks Or Criteria In Copying Data Between Sheets

I am wanting to have a sheet that I use for reporting based on another sheet in the workbook but I want to exclude items that are closed.

The first sheet will contain all rows of data with a status column of either Open, On Hold or Closed
In the second sheet I only want to have listed the items which are Open or On Hold, I want to ignore the closed items.

In the example enclosed, I only want rows 2,4,6 and 7, but NOT 3 and 5 due to status.

I have 6 worksheets in my file. In sheets 1-5, column A2:A26 list people's names. Some people's names appears on more than one sheet. Not all cells are populated with a value.

ex.

My attempt was... =INDEX('Week1:Week5-!$A$2:$A$26,MATCH(0,COUNTIF($A$1:A1,"Week1:Week5"!$A$2:$A$26),0))

where the sheets were Week1-Week5 and the values on each sheet was A2:A26. But I think there's an issue with Excel being able to 3D reference for these types of functions.

I found this code on Ozgrid to sort all columns of a worksheet that were continuous with no gaps or spaces that works well:

Using VBA To Add Border To Bottom Of Certain Cells

I need to underline certain cells based on the value of a cell in this case from column "E". Right now I run a macro to look at the value in each cell in column "E". THe macro then adds a certain amount of blank rows below the that row. So, if cell E1 has a 4, my macro runs a calculation that says 4 divided by 3, +2. So it would add 3 blank rows under row 1. It does this all the way down my column of data.

Now it gets tricky. To the right of column E, I have 6 blank columns, F,G,H,I,J,K. F,H, and J are spacer rows with no data. I need them blank with out any borders. Columns G, I, and K are the columns that I am wanting to add borders on the bottom of the cells based on the value in column E.

I need code to look at the value in E1, in this case 4, and add borders to 4 cells, in this case G1, I1, and K1 and then G2. If the value would have been 5, I need I2, 6 would add a border to K2 and 7 would add a border to G3. Catch my drift?

So, every cell in column E will not have a value because of me adding blank rows. So when there is a value, I need to add borders starting on the same row the value is in. At most, there will only be 3 underlined cells per row because of the format. Once the top row is filled, I need to drop down to the very next row.

I have a spreadsheet where a column has many cells being empty and others with values. I need to use copy-paste skip blanks to another column so it only overwrites cells that contains values. BUT The cells in the column appears to be empty, not blank, when I try use the copy-paste skip blanks it doesnt work. However, when I press delete in every empty cell the copy-paste skip blanks works for those cells.

Do you got a fast method to make all the empty cells blank?

Loop Range Of Cells. Top To Bottom, Left To Right

I have a spreadsheet which is going to be populated everyday from figures from another spreadsheet using autofilters and the very useful SubTotal worksheet function. I'll attach a copy of the work in progress, also there will be a macro in here which Everytime the user presses update, it copies a range of cells and formatting and pastes it to the next available cell on the right. I've also drawn the movement of the cells i'd like The reason being, is that its going to give day to day, up to date figures from a datasheet.

The problem i have is that when i come to populate the grid which has been copied, i need a calculations to populate each cell in the Less<1week column, then when it gets to the bottom, move Back to the top, and accross to the right 1, and then populate down again, and so on until the end of the grid in question, i dont think i can use a for/next loop becuase it will be a different column address everytime. I dont really like loops, but i feel this needs it.

I am making a report template in excel. I have written a macro to format the report based on the contents of two other sheets in the work book.

I am attempting to combine two cells in separate sheets as a linked cell in a third sheet.

i.e. in sheet 3, A1 I want to combine the values held in sheets(1).range("a1") with sheets(2).("A1") as a link which will update as the parent cells values are changed.

The cell has to be a link of the other cells as their contents will change based on the report requirements.

Keyboard Shortcut To Highlight All Cells In A Column From Bottom To Top

What is the best way to highlight all cells in a column from bottom to top?

For example, if I'm in column O, row 138, what keyboard shortcut would I need to select ONLY and ALL cells from the row I'm currently on, (in this example, 138) to row 1 and ONLY in that particular column?

Keep in mind that the next time I may be starting at row 1,200, it could be different everytime.

I tried everything I could think of..


CTRL+A
CTRL+SHIFT+A
CTRL+HOME
CTRL+SHIFT+HOME
CTRL+UP ARROW
CTRL+SHIFT+UP ARROW
CTRL+PAGE UP
CTRL+SHIFT+PAGE UP

and nothing worked to select everything in that column from the row I'm currently on, to row 1.

Linked Cells In XLSB Not Updating

I recently found out about .xlsb, which is faster and file size.. (mainly using it for the improved speed)

Now I've changed all the files at work to .xlsb and now link them all to .xlsm files that i can use to update the links to pull the data from the .xlsb files and then run macros as i need to.

However... I am having some issues with linked cells not updating automatically? is this because if the .xlsb format?

1. my understand was that .xlsb is the same as .xlsx just XML limitations.

2. my excel is set to automatic but i have to manually force it to update (and in some cases need to repoint the cell to the cell in the spreadsheet again).

Automatically Add Rows Of Linked Cells

I'm trying to create one spreadsheet where I use formulas to come up with an "end total" on a daily basis. I want these "end total" values to be automatically recorded each day on a separate spreadsheet that keeps a historical log.

In example:

On Day 1 I will enter numbers into "Spreadsheet A" to come up with an "end total" for that day. This number will automatically be entered into "Spreadsheet B" on the first row.

On Day 2 I will write over the numbers from the previous day in "Spreadsheet A" to come up with a new "end total". This new "end total" will be automatically entered into "Spreadsheet B" on the second row.

I have several different worksheets that contain grouped information such as all groups we have and a list of individual people in those groups. Those groups are in a single column going down and the people are in a single row for that group going from left to right, an example is below:

Keep Track & Record Linked Formula Cells

I currently have numerous workbooks with linked cells to a master workbook, but the linked cells dont appear to carry over or retain the formating from the master workbook (e.g. font style, bold, underlined, font color, cell color). I make changes quite often to the master workbook and would like the changes carried over to the other workbooks. Does anyone have a script where it would automatically carry over the font formatting? I hope this is understandable.
