Pivot Table To Refresh And Source Data To Change Using Visible Rows On Filtered Sheet

Feb 26, 2014

I have 5 pivot tables on 5sheets, all looking at the same source data in sheet 6

On the source data there is a filter on the headers, if you change the filter, is it possible for all 5 pivot tables to update according to the filter?

My starting point is the below, but there probably is a better way but i would want the sourcedata to equal visible rows on the source data sheet headers run A:K and up to row 10000 .

Copy Visible Data Out Of Filtered Table To Another Sheet?

Mar 22, 2013

I have on sheet 1 a table 12 columns, variable rows. I filter this table on two different columns, so that only x rows are visible.

My aim is to move these visible rows to another sheet 2, starting from cell J23., work with these data in other cells of sheet 2, and send them back to sheet 1, adding the date in column 12.

Do I need, sheet viewcode or module ?

Afterwords I would like to link this VBA code to a form button.

I would like to know if it's possible to copy a pivot table from one sheet and paste it into in another sheet such that two pivot tables are not linked i.e. if I create a calculated item in pivot table it doesn't show as an item in another. If yes, how could I do that?

VBA Pivot Table Not Updating With Filtered Field?

Oct 31, 2013

I've got a macro that adds new data to a sheet and updates an existing pivot table.

It's been working fine but ever since I've had to have two items in a field hidden it won't show any new data in the pivot table.

For example, the field firm name has two items hidden after the update any new firm names that weren't in the report before won't show up in the pivot table. The pivot table recognizes that it's part of the full data set but the checkboxes are all unchecked for the new firm names.

this is the code i"m using to update the pivot table:

'Update Pivottable
DSRWKB.Activate
DSRWKB.Sheets("Pivot").Activate

Button To Refresh Pivot Table

Jan 20, 2008

I now have a Pivot table on my worksheet that works great, the only problem I have is I would like it to refresh my data at the push of a button. I now have to click on a cell where the pivot table data is>right click the mouse>select refresh data and then I get the updated info. I know you can install a button to to this exact same thing but I don't quite know how to. I need step by step instructions. I tried OzGrid search, but did not find exactly my need.

This is what I did thus far I opened my work book>click on data>then macros> record new macro>I got a pop screen>I named the macro Refresh_Pivot_Table>store to this workbook>click OK> I see at the bottom left of my screen that the macro is still recording> I then highlighted the Column of cells where the pivot table data is and then clicked>tools>macro>stop recording.

This is the point where I'm lost. What is the next step to do? When I go back to the cell where I began to start the macro and right click I don't get the option to create a text box so that I can make a button and assign the macro I just recorded. Is this the correct method or did I miss something?

Excel 2010 :: Copy Table (listobject) INCLUDING Hidden / Filtered Rows

Nov 11, 2012

I'm trying to copy a whole bunch of tables with identical layout to a master table, so I can create a whole bunch of pivot tables that include data from ALL the various tables. The source tables MAY be filtered, and I can't work out how to copy them easily while also INCLUDING any hidden/filtered rows while at the same time leaving any filter settings on the source tables intact.

If I use something like range("Table1").Listobject.DataBodyRange.Copy then it only copies the VISIBLE rows.

But I want ALL rows to be copied to a master table.

1. I don't want to unfilter the sources tables, because users might still want the source tables to remain exactly as the user filtered them. (However, it doesn't matter if the DESTINATION list is filtered or not). I realise that I could copy the entire sheet to a temp sheet, then unfilter any tables on that sheet and THEN copy these to the master list. But wan't to know if there's a simpler way.

2. I DON'T want to use SQL to create a pivot table directly from the tables, because the tables will have further information added to them from time to time, and so if I use SQL to make a pivot directly from them, I'll have to recreate the pivot cache using that SQL query each time, which might muck up the settings in any existing pivot tables. I realise that I could use SQL to copy the data to a 'staging area', and just point the pivot table at that.

3. I can't use PowerPivot, because its not installed in this environment.

Copy Visible Cells From Filtered Sheet

Oct 23, 2007

I have data in one column that is the result of a formula, ie: =B2*B3. The result may display a decimal answer that goes out 4 places. My boss likes us to clean this up by using the = ROUND(B4,2). That is fine and easy enough, but the problem is that these numbers maybe spaced throughout a large sheet. I have to filter to make sure similar items are calculated the same way. The problem is that when I copy and paste, it copies and pastes all the data hidden between the displayed cells of the filtered sheet. How do I make it so I am only copying and pasting the data displayed and not the cells that are filtered out in between?

Macro/command Button To Reset All Filters In Pivot Table

Aug 22, 2008

I have a pivot table with over 4000 entries and about 12 columns which i filter to get the info i want.

Unfortunately with so many rows and columns in the table, if i do a macro that gets each filter back to 'show all' its really slow.

Doing this manually using the "Show all" option in the filter takes a fraction of a second, so surely there must be a way to do this more quickly in VBA?

i can't understand why manually it takes no time at all, but automating it through recording a macro takes forever.

Code 'To Invoice' Copy The Filtered List, And Paste On Sheet

The range B2:E22 is not always populated, it could possibly be B2:E2 (one row), I dont know how to copy the exact data so I expanded the range to what I think would capture any eventuality....

Excel 2010 :: Create Sheet With Table From Pivot Table?

Recently, the boss showed me a Pivot table & chart, which consists of a list of about 30 user names in the first column. The row headings were the different items they purchased from a vending machine. & when he clicked on any name in the first column, this created a new sheet, renamed with users name, with a small table of results showing what that person purchased.

Problem is, none of us can figure out how to do this. I have created a new Pivot table & chart exactly like the original, but I cannot get the smaller sheet to generate. (Excel 2010)

Excel 2007 :: Sheet Name In Show Details For Multi-sheet Pivot Table?

Excel 2007.

I have a workbook with a sheet per day, each sheet has a variety of 'jobs' as columns and a variety of people and kit as rows. Hours are manually input each day during the month.

Simplified version... These are two separate sheets 'M060114' and 'Tu070114'.

I have a Pivot Table on a separate sheet. This was created using the Wizard (ALT +D +P).

So far, lovely.

But when I double-click on a number or right-click and choose 'Show Details' I don't get the sheet names in the newly created information sheet. I get the Row label, column label and a list of the entries.

So if I clicked on 10 above...

Row

That's fine with just a couple of entries but with about 80 columns and 250 rows spread across a month, therefore 30ish sheets, it's difficult marrying up the 'Show Details' sheet to the actual data.

So after all that, the question. Is there a way of getting the sheet name to appear in the 'Show Details' information sheet?

Copy / Replace Pivot Into Sheet Without Adding Number Of Sheet

Jul 6, 2012

In a sheet (4) I have a pivot refreshed by a VBA macro code. Since I have defined a Chart on this pivot, I need to copy this pivot in a new sheet to avoid to reduce rows using a filter of the Chart. I copy this pivot using this VBA code

Sheet4.Select
Sheet4.Copy After:=Sheet2

I have e new sheet with a number Sheet(n) not equal to maximum sheet number +1

For a new run of the VBA macro I need to delete this sheet

Sheets(n).Select where (n) is not = maximum sheet number +1
ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.Delete

Then I need to avoid the message box where I need to confirm to delete the sheet because the sheet is not empty.

Is there a solution to copy a pivot in a new sheet replacing the previous pivot and vithout changing the number of the sheet?

Excel 2010 :: Pivot Table Reference Is Not Valid When Moving Data And Pivot Table Together?

Mar 19, 2013

On a worksheet, I created:

- a list of data
- a pivottable based on these data

When moving this worksheet this worksheet to another workbook, the pivot table can't refresh anymore. This throws an error message "Reference is not valid". To work around this problem I need to adapt the datasource. The same occurs if the list and the pivot table are on separate sheet, with the added strange behaviour that, when data an PT are split, it is not possible to move both sheet together.

This would not be a big issue if my problem had to be solved manually. The real problem is that I need to move the sheets from a C# program.

Copy Pivot Table Cells In New Worksheet

Dec 27, 2012

I need to copy certain values of multiple pivot tables of different worksheets into a new worksheet.

To be more clear I attached an example worksheet:

In "Table" i have a summary table where, depending on the values of cell B2, B3 and B4, the summary table has different values copied from the 2 pivot tables.

I was thinking of a code like this but i have problems getting the values from the pivot tables

VB:
Sub else_if()
If Range("B2") = "North" And Range("B3") = "October" Then
ElseIf Range("B2") = "South" And Range("B3") = "October" Then

Copy Pivot Table Values And Formatting Only

Pivot Table Or Sub Total Then Copy & Paste

Jun 2, 2006

I have a problem in creating Pivot Table in the format that I want for the purpose of report, so I'm not even sure if I should use it at all.

In the file attached, I have a sample data source in sheet 'Source'. Basically the data are already in the list format.

For the purpose of reporting, I want to make this data in the format of sheet 'Final Format Wanted'. Note that the report only takes in data from columns D, M, N, O ( Headings highlighted in red).

(1) I understand that I can do something like this with a Pivot Table, and I already did something like it in the sheet 'Pivot'.

The Pivot table works well for Total Exposure (data from column M)The thing is, I want just the Grand Total Figures for column N and O instead of putting it in the data section itself. For better explanation, please take a look at sheet 'Final Format Wanted'. I just want the grand total for these 2 columns because they are less important and I want to be able to squeeze just the relevant figures for the report. Can I do this?

(2) Another way I have thought of is actually using a combination of Vlookup and concatenate function (look at sheet 'vlookup'). The thing is, some names that I used to concatenate might appear twice (look at row 39 and 40 in sheet 'Source' under column L), so if I am to use this, I'll need to find Sub-total first then copy and paste each item again into the format I wanted.

To me, this seems to be a really long way of doing it. Pivot Table is preferable in that it can count the total automatically for me, but I can't get the format I want.

Does anyone have any suggestion what I can do? If I use
(1)Pivot table - how can I get just the Grand Total of the other 2 columns?
(2)Vlookup - Is there a faster way in getting the subtotal and ultimately get the data in the format I want?

For example, in the Report Filter, I have 18 total regions, but I only need to submit a pivot table for only 6 regions on a weekly basis. Currently, I'm filtering the 6 regions individually from the "data dump" and making 6 pivot tables as separate workbooks...and then emailing them out. Copying Pivot Table Row Values To Another Sheet?

Jul 29, 2014

I'm trying to copy a certain cell range from a particular row of a pivot table to another sheet, in a loop but I do not successfully do the paste. There's no error, just no data gets pasted.

In my code currently i have:

Code:
Set Report = ActiveWorkbook.Sheets("Report")
Set Pivot = ActiveWorkbook.Sheets("Pivot").PivotTables(1)
dim size = Pivot.TableRange2.Rows.Count
for i =2 to size -1
Set currentRow = Pivot.TableRange2.Rows(i)
currentRow.Range(currentRow.Cells(1, 2), currentRow.Cells(1, 7)).Copy
Sheets("Report").Activate
ActiveSheet.Range("C" & 4 + i & ":H" & 4+ i).Select
Selection.Paste
next

Now, what does work if i select and paste the whole pivot row, but i don't want this. I've tried also with just referencing the Pivot table cells but also pasted nothing.

Copy Pivot Table Data To Worksheet & Name Them As Per Their Field Name

Oct 23, 2007

I've tried my best to describe my dilema. I import data in an SQL query from a mainframe. This data shows a job number, site address, job number and a length. Multiple lengths on the same site appear as separate entries. I use a pivot table to calculate a total length and also formulas to determine whether a site is in an East or West area. I then need to then be able to copy the 'East' jobs to an 'East' worksheet and the 'West' jobs to the 'West' worksheet. But, I only want a site to appear once with the total length.
