Column A is the COB Date Column B through N are various stock data. I would like to calculate the trend of correlations over a 4 year period. I can't seem to figure out how to manipulate the data analysis tool pak to do this.

I got information, that matching class properties of Worksheetfunction is impossible.
This is my first experience with macro's and I hardly know how to deal with this problem.I got some excel file from my friend and tried to do this in the same way.
Macro was supposed to calculate the Pearson's coefficient of correlation for orders from 1 to 100 of autocorrelation in order to calculate Q Box-Pierce statistic.Data is prices of stocks for some bank and correlation coefficient is calculated for simple returns on stocks.
I have a hotel room schedule of up to 1,000 rows. Each row is a different room, each column representing a different day of the year. Each cell in a row either has the surname of a guest for that particular day, or the word "Available" to indicate no guest is occupying that room on that day.
analysing each room's occupancy and availability periods over the year. i.e.
- what day(s) a guest occupied and vacated a room,
- what day(s) a another guest then occupied and vacated that room, or
- what day(s) it was then "Available" from
The dates of occupancy are needed in case the guest queries the period.
Parameters
- All 365 days of the year are used - irrespective of holidays/ weekends - the room will either be occupied or available - The day after a guest leaves, it will automatically become available until unless another guest occupies it - The same guest may use a room more than once in a year. This will need to be shown as a unique occurrence, not accumulative
Design
- A1:A1000 is a list of room numbers
- B1:NB1 are all 365 days of the year regardless of weekends/ holidays
- Every cell has either the surname of the guest or the word "Available"
- The results of the analysis can be on another worksheet
Sample I have attached a scaled down sample of what I'm after. Row 1 has the dates starting from 30 April 2013 to 23 May 2013. Room numbers in Column A. C10:D26 are samples for the analysis I'm after. I've randomly chosen Room 100 and Room 500. Room 500 has Mr Mathews staying 4 times.
I currently have in my equation the trend function to linear extrapolate the date a line would cross either my upper or lower limits (100.1 and 19.9) between 2 data points. However if the 2 data points span both the upper and lower limits (as per the 2 attached examples) then unfortunately the trend function is only able to return the 1 date (where I've specified the x value). Is there any way for the TREND function to trend the 2 values? Do I simply add the 2nd x value to the new x's?

I am writing a formula that will sum data for a 12 month period that is not based on a calendar year. For example may have data starting in June 2011 running to date, but not every month. If I set a start date for Year 1, say April 2012, I need to see Year 0 numbers (anything prior to April 2012), Year 1 numbers (April 2012 to March 2013), Year 2 numbers (April 2013 to March 2014), and so on. Date format is currently mmm-yy.
If this could be performed via a macro which references the database (spreadsheet), then even better. The database will contain multiple columns, of which two will contain the date and corresponding number respectively.
I have uploaded a sample amortization schedule.
1. I require the table to adjust itself based on the loan period and number of payments per year entered in D14 and D15 respectively.
2. Also, if a value is entered in column E, then i require the whole table to update as well.
I have a logbook which already uses a number of SUMIF formulas but have been trying to create one so that totals the number of hours flown in the above mentioned periods. I am attempting to copy the formula and then modify for the relevant column in this case: =SUM(IF(FlightDates<(TODAY()-90), 0, FlightLength))
FlightDates is the named range of the calender date in column A and FlightLength is the named range for total flying in column Z. However even though this forumla works in another situation e.g. tracking number of landings in the last 90 days, it comes up with an error.
how i would calculate the number of sickness days and occaisions in the previous 26 week period from todays date.
I've attached the spreadsheet.
So in C4 i want to have the total number of times(occasions) the person has been absent in the previous 26 weeks.
and in E4 i want to have the Total number of Days (taken from E7:E20) the person has been sick in the past 26 weeks
I need to calculate a pay back period for a certain investment. Excel has options for NPV and IRR but not for the Pay back period. (PBP). I've tried finding a solution using google discussion groups and some books but nothing helped me out. attached you'll find an example of my sheet. I need the PBP to be calculated in e.g. 5,3 years. but when the figures change it should automaticly recalculate the PBP.

I am creating a timesheet using excel 2003 users enter their shift start/finish time and a break start/finish time. Emplyee's can work night shifts (ie across midnight).
There are penalty rates which apply at different times. I need to be able to work out the amount of worked time that fits into a certain time period. eg. 10pm-7.30am, 7.30am-10pm.
I have a solution based on A clever formula from Daniel Maher that will calculate time within a period. But it doesn't work when the shift goes over two days.

The work period is 9-18 with lunch interval 13-14 The startdate and end date could be out of the work hours and i can't include the extra hours. I can have several days (workdays) at the difference, but i should maintain the format hh:mm.

I need to determine a formula which will allow me to calculate a future date based upon a current date with varying time periods.
For example:
I have a bill which is paid on the 15th and last business day of each month. I would like to be able to see the next due date regardless of what day of the week it is.
I have a bill which is paid every other Tuesday. I would like to know the next due date without having to enter +14 for every due date in the future. In other words, it is preferable to be able to open the spreadsheet and automatically see the next due date, not use autofill to repeatedly add +14 to a previous date which would limit the # of future due dates that could be calculated.
I have a bill which is paid on the last business day of each month, not the last Friday of each month. I would need excel to return a value for the last day of the month which = Monday-Friday, regardless of what day of the week it may be as long as it isn't Saturday or Sunday(holiday exclusion would be nice but not required).
I'm trying to come up with a formula that calculates a year to date target, taking into consideration the actual working days and the target for those days.

I've tried a Text() function but the best 'format_text' I could come up with was "yyyy/yyyy+1", which not only doesn't work, but would be wrong if the source date was in the second half of the financial year.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday I created a thread [URL] ..... that would clear a specific content if a date (or rather a day) matched the criteria.
Today I'm continuing with that document and need to sum the columns if the date in a row is the correct month and year.
Ex. Row 1 contains the date "yyyy-mm-dd" and row 2-5 contains empty cells or the value x. The x values are all random placed.
So, I want to sum all the "x" for February 2014.
I'd rather use a formula here than a macro/VBA-code but anything will do. I have tried myself with =sumifs and =sumproduct but with no success.

I need to calculate in excel the highest 5 consecutive year average salary for each (if they have less than 5 years with salary, then it should just average the years the do have). Some people have breaks in service (for five years, there is a blank in that entry). These years should be ignored and skipped in calculating the avergaes.

For Example:
A1-Employee, A2-Hire Date, A3-Pay Frequency, A4-Number of Paychecks
Based on the hire date and pay frequency it will calculate the number of paychecks in A4.
Is this something that can be calculate with excel or would it need to be done manually.
I used three different dates. In which the outcomes were available. The first three sheets.
Is there a possiblity to use excel to calculate a future outcome of the next month(Sheet 4). The figures are in a way linear, because the previous months are in it.
So it's possible for the future outcome to go up or stay the same. It can't be less then previous months.

It's about a holiday (combinations) of arrangements. So it'll be influenced by the date (because of holliday plannings), finance etc etc. But the last factors/variables we will use and test in SPSS and other programs.
The question is more: Is there a program/formula in excel which will predict the outcome in the last sheet with maybe a factor of outliners (this coincendence of a better salary in some parts/or the date that people will book a holiday). And how the formula would be formulated in the last sheet?
I have revenue sheet that spans 12 months kind of looks like this:

So that is 1 row, my problem is I have about 8 thousand of these, and what I'm looking for is trends in lapsed accounts (accounts with no spend, the "0's"). As you can see I have 6 zero's in a row, which means this customer was lapsed for 6 months.
I want to run something that will find the average of zero's in a row for all 8,000 rows. For example one customer has 6 zero's in a row the other one has 3 zero's in a row so the average would be 4.5. I only care about zero's in a row.
I am trying to show some trends, from data taken on a monthly basis. The attached spreadsheet is an example of what I have:
The first two columns show data for Month1. The next two columns show data for the last 2 months (Month1&2). I was thinking of using a line graph, and showing Month1 and Month1&2 on the X axis. At time Month1, I'd have 4 different data points, for hw, sw, fpga and chip. At time Month1&2, I'd show the cumulative data for those same 4 categories. Over a period of time, we could see whether one area or another (hw, sw) keeps getting worse. How can I do this via pivot table?
