I'm working with a loan amortization worksheet (downloaded from Office Online). Unless I don't understand correctly, the date formula on the worksheet doesn't calculate the way I need it to. I'm not totally sure what the formula they use is doing. It does use a lot of named ranges.
If a user inserts the total "Number of Payments per year", then I want the date to return the proper payment date.
For instance, If the start date is 1/1/07 and the number of payments per year is 24 then the payment dates should be like
1/15/07 1/31/01 2/15/07 2/28/07
It should be the 15th and the last day of the month.
If I put 52 as the number of payments then I want the formula to set the payment dates to every Friday.
I'm still learning formulas so bare with me guys. Attached is the worksheet.
There are various references and links to " mortgage calculators;" though they are specific to the US dollar. Is the formula still the same, irrespective of the currency and why does it come across as quite a complex calculation? i have been taksed with designing a "calculator" and don't seem to know where to start as the currency issue is confusing me.
I need to create an amortization table for several thousand loans. I could create a seperate amortization schedule for each loan, but as you can imagine, doing so would take a long time.
These loans have varying interest rates, loan periods, and beginning balances, so it is not as if I could just add the beginning balances together and amortize on that basis.
It seems like this will require a VBA macro, however my programming skills are a little rusty.
I am using Excel 2003 and I created an amortization schedule set up for an debt account. I am trying to pull the "Balance Due" from that schedule into another chart based on the current date (these are on two different sheets in a workbook).
For example, this is my 'Amortization Schedule':
Balance Due Interest Rate This Month's Interest This Month's Payment
[code]....
And I am trying to pull the "Balance Due" from that schedule to place into this chart on my 'Debts' sheet: (based on the current date)
Name Starting Balance Remaining Balance Interest Rate Minimum
[code]....
For example, if today were 1/15/13, I would want $3,796.34 from the schedule to go where the "x" is on the chart above. What formula would I use to accomplish this?
Also, on a side note, would there be a formula to have Excel pull the "Payment Date" from the schedule into the "Payoff Date" in the chart based on where the row has a $0 Balance Due?
I am writing a formula that will sum data for a 12 month period that is not based on a calendar year. For example may have data starting in June 2011 running to date, but not every month. If I set a start date for Year 1, say April 2012, I need to see Year 0 numbers (anything prior to April 2012), Year 1 numbers (April 2012 to March 2013), Year 2 numbers (April 2013 to March 2014), and so on. Date format is currently mmm-yy.
If this could be performed via a macro which references the database (spreadsheet), then even better. The database will contain multiple columns, of which two will contain the date and corresponding number respectively.
I am trying to auto generate a calendar based on two drop down menus - Month and Year.
Once the month and year is selected I want to import all work orders onto the calendar based first on the "Labor Name" found in the list of work tab, then assign each work order for that labor name to the respective date on the calendar for the month.
I'm trying to make an amortization table with all the individual payments. I'm trying to avoid putting in the formula manually into each individual cell. I have a formula = ROUND(F11*0.12/12,0) and I want to insert that formula down an entire column, but increasing the F11 to F12, F13, etc.
Trying to automate the period part of the impt function
To calculate current value of loan i have the below formula below with the 3 being the current period
=IPMT(4.3%/12,3,5*12,-7000)/(4.3%/12)
What i would like to do is for the period to be self calcuating from current date and the loan start date. I can return a value in days using start date - today() and aware month function returns the month number but stuggling to find a way to work out cumulative month from the start date.
In a financial environment we have a calculator which uses iteration to allow for a cost being added to loan amount where the cost is based on the total loan amount. Iteration is set to 100 iterations with max change .001
On one PC the first time the calculator is opened it gives a particular (incorrect) result. If the input cells are cleared and the data re-entered, it gives the correct result. This only happens on one particular PC. Is there some other setting , other than the iteration setting, that would cause this?
Is it possible to update a cell with an additional number eg from 22 to 23 when a template is opened. In accounting packages for example, every time you open an invoice it automatically increases the invoice number to the next higher number. I was thinking I might be able use excel to create an inwards goods receipt for items received for repair.
I have a hotel room schedule of up to 1,000 rows. Each row is a different room, each column representing a different day of the year. Each cell in a row either has the surname of a guest for that particular day, or the word "Available" to indicate no guest is occupying that room on that day.
analysing each room's occupancy and availability periods over the year. i.e. - what day(s) a guest occupied and vacated a room, - what day(s) a another guest then occupied and vacated that room, or - what day(s) it was then "Available" from
The dates of occupancy are needed in case the guest queries the period.
Parameters - All 365 days of the year are used - irrespective of holidays/ weekends - the room will either be occupied or available - The day after a guest leaves, it will automatically become available until unless another guest occupies it - The same guest may use a room more than once in a year. This will need to be shown as a unique occurrence, not accumulative
Design - A1:A1000 is a list of room numbers - B1:NB1 are all 365 days of the year regardless of weekends/ holidays - Every cell has either the surname of the guest or the word "Available" - The results of the analysis can be on another worksheet
Sample I have attached a scaled down sample of what I'm after. Row 1 has the dates starting from 30 April 2013 to 23 May 2013. Room numbers in Column A. C10:D26 are samples for the analysis I'm after. I've randomly chosen Room 100 and Room 500. Room 500 has Mr Mathews staying 4 times.
i want to update values fon an excel sheet on a month by month basis. So i have jan to dec folders and excel sheets under each folder , i want to update my monthly forecast sheet based on the numbers in the folder I want to just change the cell in my monthly forecast sheet to Jan or Feb and the values should be pulled from the closed excel files in the monthly folders. I tried concatenation but it gave me #REF .. Is there a way to do it other than using "pull" ??
Coloumn A contains dates format of 12/02/2009, but another format such as 10-Apr-09 etc could be used.
Coloumn B contains the amounts of payments received, i.e £5.00, £10.00, £20.00
Now what I require is to be display in another coloumn (say Coloumn C) the number of payments that were received last week and last month and then the total value of the payments.
So the sort of result I'm looking for would be like
Assume todays date is 19-04-09
A B C 12-04-09 £5.00 Last Week 4 Payments Value £45.00 12-04-09 £10.00 13-04-09 £10.00 14-04-09 £20.00
Column A is the COB Date Column B through N are various stock data. I would like to calculate the trend of correlations over a 4 year period. I can't seem to figure out how to manipulate the data analysis tool pak to do this.
My finacial year starts on the 1st of October of each year and ends 30th of September each year.
My week is from Monday to Saturday - though for calculation ease: lets say that my week is from Monday to Sunday.
I need to calculate the week numbers of a date based on the above two criteria.
I understand that I need to ascertain the day of the start date first i.e: did 01/10/07 fall on Monday, Tuesday etc. - In fact it was Monday!
so for my year 07/08:Week 1 was 01/10/07 to 07/10/07Week 2 was 08/10/07 to 14/10/07ETCSo in the attached worksheet - what formula can I use to populate column D - by using the data in column E?
I.e. All I want to do, is input date into E and B, C, D will be calculated automatically. It would be great of excel could populate A - aswell ;-)
I have a basic formula =C17+'Asset Depreciation 2008 Onwards'!C24, and I want to copy it down just using the drag function. Problem is that the second reference range of cells are in rows and hence when I copy it down it doesn’t automatically update the cell references because it want to update them by column number instead of row number. IE I want it to display =C17+'Asset Depreciation 2008 Onwards'! D24, instead of C25. Do you know if there is any way of telling Excel that I want it to increase the column number by 1 every time, instead of the row number for this part of the formula?
I am trying to fill a table of the last 12 values for the purposes of creating dynamic charts. I remember last time i used named ranges, offsets etc etc but been too long to remember how.
Ive attached a worksheet to explain it better.
I should probably mention, I want to be able to change cells C1 and C2 to update the values. Everything else wil be rather static.
This should be really easy, but for some reason I can't figure out how to make this work. I'm managing a resteraunt, and build my schedule by department using a drop down menu to insert my employee. I'd like to be able to automatically resort the data into a new worksheet organized by employee name. please see attachment.
What i would like to happen is after inputing a number into say column B have that number update a formula in cell D2.... so for example... lets say i have
is there a way to make it so when i enter a new number in B4 it will automatically update the formula to display the value for (B4-B3)/B3 and then continue on to repeat this process when i enter values into B5, B6, B7 ect?
I would rather not have to update each date manually so could any of you kindly inform me of a command whereby all of the 2008 dates can be updated to 2009?
I am working on a budget for myself and want it to have running dates so the first data column will have the current month. I was able to succeed with this using the EOMONTH function followed by EDATE functions in the following cells, I then have these columns filled using a nested VLOOKUP MATCH function pair.
The problem I run into is with the months that extend into the next year, in my data table I have month by month listed started on 01/01/2014 ending 12/01/2014 but as soon as the month is no longer January the last column in my budget cannot find the information needed due to it looking for 2015. so what I would like to know is if there is a way to make the data table change the year to the following year after today is beyond that month, so for example on March 1 2014 both January and February would be changed to 2015.
I have the catalog #s of some products in column A, and I have the brand in column B, Product name in Column C, and the model # in Column D. I want to create a formula that if I select the catalog # it should autopopulate the brand in column B, product name in column C and the model # in column D!!
And I have the brand/product & model # in a different sheet!!
I have list of data with corresponding number of chances ( see attached column E) I need to replicate the data under column A,B,C & D to a new rows as per the number under column E and so goes till the end of the list using a formula.
Basically in the attached example i should have a 43 new data rows
I am wondering if there is a way in XL2003 to determine how many times specific days of the month occur within a specified date range. For example, I need to find out how many times both the 1st of the month, and how many times the 15th of the month occur in the time period starting 05/02/2009, and ending 07/12/2009.
I'm sure that there had been an error somewhere but I can't figure it out. I'm getting zero value. Situation: need to count number of leaves within a specified period, thus I opted to use Sumproduct.
