I am looking to create an Excel sheet that can manage the times of access of a certain location. The information is set in a way that there are several rows, and the rows for the time I am keeping track of are in the Row "I". I need to get a count of how many people accessed the location each hour.
I have managed to do this using the following formula:
=COUNTIF(I:I,">=12:00:00")-COUNTIF(I:I,">13:00:00")
This gives me the Count for 12:00pm to 12:59pm. However, COUNTIF can only handle one variable, and I need to put a second variable in it. In Row B, there are several different states. For the most part, they are numbers, but occasionally, there are two separate occurances that I am not supposed to count with the others. I do have to count them separately, however:............
I have a scoring system I monitor in excel (I have attached an example speadsheet). I score against a number of criteria e.g. criteria 1 scores "2", criteria 2 scores "4". My problem is that the criteria don't always attract a score, sometimes they blank. I also need to specify which criteria I want to count in the scoring as they are not always relevant every time.
I need formulae that will take this into account and be ready to total up only when a score is there (COUNTIF?); and out of the range of scores I want to total up only the specified criteria at choice (SUMIF?).
My COUNTIF and SUMIF skills are failing with this which is very complex for my level.
What would the formula be in each instance? I have attached the file to reference the cells that I have questions about.
Question ?A: - is this a COUNTIF? In this cell I want to calculate the number of occurrences where there is a score detailed, but only for specified criteria, for argument's sake criteria 1,2,3,4,7 & 8
The answer would be 5 in this instance, not 6, because Criteria "3" did not receive a score.
I would want to have other cells which would calculate the number of occurences where there had been a score but using different combinations of criteria
Question ?B: - is this a SUMIF? In this cell I want to calculate the total sum of scores for those specified criteria where there has been a score The answer would be 13 in this instance (3+2+4+1+3 from the scores that occurred for those specified criteria) I would want to have other cells which would calculate the total sum of the scores but using different combinations of criteria
I now want to count the number of times that (F) occurs in red text within the listed range, the difference being that (F) is always only the last three digits in the cell eg ABC (F)
I have tried this formula =PERSONAL.XLS!CountByColorText($G$4:$R$211,3,TRUE,"*(F)*")and get 0, which is incorrect
Greetings respected EXCEL professionals. I am working an a project and I need your assistance. Kindly refer to the attached text file - which is a download of a BANK STATEMENTwhich came as text file. I want Excel to gather the information in the text file and put it in the cells. I then want to count the amount of all instances of certain descriptions.
For example, Excel would go down the description column and detect all instance of "EOD" (and ignore the varying string behind it) and put the total next to a cell titled simply "EOD". It would do similar detecting, calculating, and posting for the other descriptions ("DEPOSIT", "CASH", etc.) - again, Excel would only pay attention to the first few words of the description and just ignore any variables that occur in the same category.
I AM A NOVICE. I tried pasting the text file onto the spreadsheet with not too good results. But even when I tried to just have Excel count all occurances of "EOD" using the SUMPRODUCT function, I got a "VALUE!" error - I realized this is because there are texts such as "Amount" in the column containing the values.
I want to count cells that contain specific text but multiple criteria. For example in range B4:B12 I want to count the cells that contain the word 'daily' AND the word 'weekly'. Each cell in the range contains one word.
1) SELECTING IN THE SPECIFIED DATE RANGE (e.g from 1st jan to 31st Jan) 2) SELECTING MULTIPLE CRITERIA IN B COLUMN (MP & MS) 3) SELECTING MULTIPLE CRITERIA IN C COLUMN (SV & RS) 4) SELECTING MULTIPLE CRITERIA IN D COLUMN (IN & HI)
My colleagues tried countifs in excel 2007 but i have 2003. i want to specify all the four criteria in a single function to achieve my result (IN EACH MULTIPLE CRITERIA)
I have a very large spreadsheet and want to count the number of times a particular text string shows up in a column. I can't use autofilter due to the 1000 limit.
Here's an example, Column C contains: Dan Parker John Doe Dan Smith Jill Smith
So if I search on *Dan*, the function should return a count of 2.
I've used COUNTIF before to return values when the whole cell = a certain value but in my case the cell may have 200 characters and I want to count based on a fuzzy search. I would like to do this in a function and not a macro.
On my spreadsheet I have multiple rows and cells containing alphanumeric text (text is a combination of a person's name and goals scored) i.e. Holland1 appears in row 3 cell P3 then Holland3 appears in row 6 cell O6.
What I would like to be able to do is have a forumla that looks at every row and cell in my range and sum the numbers of the alphnumeric text if the cell contains a certain name i.e Holland.
I had tried to use the array formula =1*MID(A1,MATCH(TRUE,ISNUMBER(1*MID(A1,ROW($1:$26),1)),0),COUNT(1*MID(A1,ROW($1:$26),1))) which I found on the internet but this only works for one cell and doesn't allow for a set criteria to be met.
I can't seem to get a formula to work. I am trying to count the number of times "EE" shows up in a range only if "CR" is listed in that row within another range. For simplicity Column A has a list with the following values scattered from A2 through A100: CR, LT, ST, DI. Column B has a list with the following values scattered from B2 through B100: EE, EF, EG.
I need to know how many EE's are listed in column B if CR is on the same line in column A.
I currently have the formula =Countif(E5:E158,"YES"). This formula works great if when I dont filter, however, I need to filter through the data and I only want it to count the cells that have "Yes" when it is filtered, not just all the cells. I searched to forums and people keep referencing Subtotal() however that is counting all the cells and not pulling out the "Yes" inputs only.
need a formula to calculate the total number of x's in one column (column B, C, E are training types= x) where the corresponding column date falls within a date range. It’s to total each type of training done for each month. I have 3 training type columns and a cell that calculates the total number of trainings for the each month:=COUNTIF(F2:F100,">="&DATE(2008,2,1))-COUNTIF(F3:F200,">="&DATE(2008,2,31)). So now I just need it broken down by training type per month. How many x's in each column for February as an example.
I am using the count function for attendance tracking of Vacation, Personal Time, & Sick Time. (Example: = COUNTIF($F6:$CQ6, "V")
I need to be able to do half days. I have tried many different formulas/ways to incorporate the half day scenario even without using the count function with no success.
I have thousands of timestamps that have a start & end date and time in 2 separate columns. (one named start and one named end...)
I also have numerous set time periods that i'm interested in.. (about a dozen or so)
for example 01/01/2008 - 05/01/2008, 07:30:00 - 10:00:00
What i need is to be able to count the number of times the full time period i am interested (07:30:00 - 10:00:00) in falls in between the thousands of start and end timestamps i have. The time periods must also fall within the date range specifed.
So if my timestamps were Start: 01/01/2008 06:30:00 & End: 02/01/2008 11:00:00, based on the set time period above, there would be a count of 2
and if my timestamps were Start: 01/01/2008 07:05:00 & End: 02/01/2008 09:00:00 there would be a count of zero as there is not a full uninterupted timeperiod 07:00:00 - 10:00:00 between these timestamps.
and if my timestamps were: Start 01/01/2007 07:00:00 & End 02/01/2007 10:00:00 the count would be zer as this is a year early!
Here is what I have. 4 Worksheets. The first worksheet is a summary page. I have 350 personnel that are broken down into three different groups. So each group has it's own sheet. Here is what I need to accomplish. Results need to be posted on the summary sheet.
I need to compare cells B2 & D3 for each row on a worksheet and display the number of times they match on a worksheet. For example how many times does EP & EP match on a certain row. I need to compare cells B2 & D3 for each row on a worksheeet and display the number of times they don't match on a worksheet. For example how many times does EP & MP occur. I've attached an example for reference
I believe I need a loop code to do what I need, because none of the functions I've tried have worked. I want to start at B2 and go down the column until I come to a YES. When I find a YES, I want to know the number of NOs that preceded it. Then I want to go from that YES(#1) to the next YES(#2) and count the number of NOs between YES(#1) and YES(#2) and so forth, until I run out of rows. For example, in C5, the answer is 2, because there are 2 NOs between YES#1 and YES#2 in coulmn B, and a 1 in C7, because there is 1 NO between YES(#2) and YES(#3) in column B.
I have a spreadsheet which lists letters issued, the date issued and the potcode. I need a formula that counts, on a weekly basis, the number of letters issued to postcodes in Sutton and Bexley.
I have a count sheet set up on one worksheet and the list of postcodes applicable to each area are listed on another worksheet. I have been playing around with sumif, sumproduct etc, but these don't seem to work as I am pointing the formula to a list of postcodes and not an individual postcode. For example, the formula for one week needs to tell me, the number of letters issed to Sutton between 26/07/08 - 01/08/08. This is what I tried -
But I get #N/A - if I change the last refernce to a specific cell instead of a range it works, but this will make the process very lengthy as there are lots of postcodes!
I am using Excel 2013. Anyway, the first issue is that I need to pull a date and a time period from text. So, for example, if I see something like Sunday Prime Time 7/6/14 8:37PM, I would want to pull ONLY the "7/6/14 8:37PM" out of it. Each text box could potentially be different, so it might not always be in the same format as "Sunday Prime Time 7/6/14 8:37PM" it might only show just the date and/or the time without all the extra text i.e. 7/6/14 8:37PM. Some of the cells will have text, others might only have just the time or even just the date and the time. The only thing that I am worrying about in each cell is extracting just the date and time. If this is too much to ask of excel, I would be ok with extracting ONLY the time - 8:37PM and not the date, but I would much rather be able to get both the time and date.
THEN, onto part two of my question. After I would pull the dates and times, I need to compare them with each other. So, when I have the same date with two separate times on that date, I need to write a formula to show if those times on that date are less than 30 minutes apart. So, if I have 6 times on 7/6/14, I need to know if any of them are less than 30 minutes apart.
I would need to have the formula say something like "Problem" if the times on 7/6/14 would be 5:30PM, 5:48PM, 7:00PM, 8:00PM, 8:15PM, and 9:00Pm for example. I would like to see the word "Problem" since 5:30PM and 5:48Pm is only 18 minutes apart, and "Problem" after 8:15PM since that is only 15 minutes past the 8:00PM which is obviously under 30 minutes. The times that are more than 30 minutes apart such as 7:00PM and 9:00PM for example are more than 30 minutes apart from any of the other times that were extracted.
I need a way to find a value in a column which has one or more corresponding values in an adjacent column. Then take all of the corresponding values found and count all occurrences of the found values in another column. But I only want to count the entries if an adjacent column is not blank.
Not the easiest thing to describe. Starting to wonder if I need to think in reverse. I hope the attached example makes more sense.
I am trying to find a formula that will count the number of unique entries there. I have tried the solutions posted on various websites to no avail (most recently:
Problem I was having in peforming a 'Count & Sum' routine for records which met certain criteria.
Unfortunately I wasn't able progress this any further, and I take full responsibility for this, because I caused issues by incorrectly specifying the criteria in my initial post.
What I'm trying to achieve is a follows:
Search the range "ADPeriod" (Which is column J on the "All Data" sheet)for the value shown in cell in B2 on the "Expected Outcome" sheet, andSearch the range "ADPLOB"(Which is column B on the "All Data" sheet), for the value in the rows of column B on the "Expected Outcome" sheet, andSearch the range "ADJRole" (Which is column I on the "All Data" sheet) for the value in row 2 on the "Expected Outcome Sheet"Where all three are found,Count the number of unique values in the range "ADSName" (Which is column D on the "All Data" sheet) and enter the value in the applicable rows in column C of the table on the "Expected Outcome" sheet, thenSum the associated value in the range "ADAFTE" (Which is column N on the "All Data" sheet), and place in the respective row in column D of the table on the "Expected Outcome" sheet.
This is the link to the file: [URL] .....
As before I will be adding further values in row C of the table on the "Expected Outcome" sheet, but I just wondered whether someone may be able to show me how I may be able start which I can build upon.
I have a dataset with odds for soccermatches, and results. I want to count each time a specified odds has won the match, but i cannot find out which formula to use.
For example:
HTeam ATeam Res H-Odds D-Odds A-Odds 1.Team1 Team2 H 1.60 2.10 4.30 2.Team1 Team2 D 1.64 2.30 3.30 3.Team1 Team2 H 1.60 2.60 4.35 4.Team1 Team2 A 3.10 2.80 1.60 5.Team1 Team2 A 1.60 2.10 3.30 6.Team1 Team2 D 1.60 1.60 4.30
HTeam= Home team ATeam= Away team Res = Result, Home, Draw, or Away H-Odds= Home odds D-Odds= Draw odds A-Odds= Away odds
Defining my problem: I want to count the times the odds; 1.60 was the winning odds. I imagine i need to set up 3 columns: Homewins, Draws, Awaywins.
Kind of like: =COUNTIF(A1:A50,"1.60"),IF(B1:B50,"H") like that, only that is not correct
I am tasked with creating a matrix which indicates the amount of active customers in a given week, and a given segment. These make up the rows (segments) and columns (weeks). I have a big sheet of data so started to use COUNTIFS.
=COUNTIFS(UsageWeek,M$2,Segment,$L3)
Problem is that if there is usage more than once in a given week that customer will be counted twice or more. Can I make one criteria for a third (customer) range but with a critera that is counted only once?
I want to COUNT the occurance of the id's number appears in a cell F2 (I do not want to SUM them - counting more than 1 criteria). How can I exclude "0" from being counted. Based on the table it sholud show id 1120 - 4 occurance, but my formula show 0 ......
I am my excel worksheet (excel 2010) I have one cell that changes every day (number). I want this number to open my htm document and replace the same number in a string in the htm and save/close this.
An example: My htm document is located at C:/ and named XX.htm
The number I want from excel is in cell A1 in sheet1, and the worksheet is located in D:/ named yy.xlsx
And the text(number) I want to replace is in the following string in the htm document, in this string it is 72, next day it can be 30:
