I am trying to count the number of orders written per day. I used the following formula on another sheet and it worked fine, however on this one, A8 is a date only, and F2:F2000 is a date and a time.
I tried reformating the cell for date only, and it displays only the date, however, the time information is still stored, and I can't get it to do the count. Is there a way to count the date regardless of the time?
I have some cells which must be in the format 15/06/2007 15:25
I then need to add either days, months or years onto it.
Say the above date/time is in cell A1, when I do =YEAR(A1)+5 it displays 2012 if I choose the general cell format, but when I select the same cell format (date time) it comes out as 04/07/1905 00:00
I have got a project that has several hundred starts and finishes. I want to count them over time to use as an indication of progress. ( I want to show this graphically)
I have got the graph working but it is pretty long handed.
I have tried using a pviot table and picvot graph which almost does it but has a few problems (if there is no data in a month then it wont create an entry for the month, and the cumulative over time is not quite working).
Both examples are in the attached file : Progress Curve ozgrid1.xlsx
I run a small holiday cottage and I want to use excel to tell me which days of the year I get most enquiries for.
Every time I get an enquiry for a certain period in the cottage, I enter the dates into excel.
I have two columns - Start of holiday and End of holiday.
What I would like to do, is give each day of the year one point if someone enquires for it.
e.g. If someone asked for 3rd january to 5 january, I would give 1 point to the 3rd and 1 point to the 4th of january (but not the 5th as that is the day they would leave!)
At the moment I find it easier to count with pen and paper than use excel for this problem.
i am trying to get the number of days from last time ticket paid till todate, considering the day & month of the hiring date but the year of the last time paid. say AAA hired on 15-Nov-2001 receives a ticket every 24 months; received last ticket in Nov 2011.
i want to count the number of days between 15-Nov 2011 until 31-Jul-2013 (dd & mm are from joining date yyyy from last time paid) i have a list of 1200 names with different dates of joining and different dates of payments.
I have a time column (A) that when looked in the cell only shows AM & PM times, but the cell itself (not showing) contains dates too, keeping me from be able to do a sheet wide sort of time or time frame occurrences.
Can I do some thing to sort these cells with their corresponding rows based on time only disregarding dates?
I am trying sort out all rows that in column (A) is time equal to or greater than 4:00 PM OR even maybe sort all rows that column (A) shows a time between 4:00 PM & 7:00 PM. The date in the cell is the problem, I think. Excel 2013
Within a user entered range of two dates, I would like to identify the individual calendar date(s) and count the number of Mondays which fall within the specified date range.I will eventually be using the same "Monday" code to find the same data for every day of the week within the dates ranges, but I figured I'd start with Mondays and build from there.
For Example: Date range 1/1/2013 - 1/15/2013 (date ranges could potentially encompass a full business quarter) Within the range, list each of the dates as dates. (used for comparative counting purposes elsewhere in the document)Count the number of Mons, Tues, Weds, Thurs, Fris, and Sats within the date range.Based on the example date ranges above; Mons = 2, Tues through Sats = 3 each.
I have loaded a .csv file in which the first column contains date/times, e.g. 01/12/2012 00:00. How do I now tell Excel (2010) that this is in fact a date/time format? If I select one or more of the cells, click on the Number dialog box launcher and try to pick a suitable format tghe cells resolutely refuse to budge from being text (i.e. left-justified, still allows me to edit the 'seconds' component to a number > 60). Also which data type should I be using? The only one that appears to have a full date/time format listed is Custom (not Date or Time).
I have a spreadsheet containing a column of dates which I use as the data source for a mail merge. I need to convert the dates in this column from the format "18/02/08" to the format "18 February 2008" using Format - Date.
Problem is where the dates are missing the leading zero, Excel will not change these e.g. 3/2/08. Converting to text first did not fix it.
I am very new to Excel. The date is in column B as Tuesday, 29 April 2014, but I need to format the spreadsheet in such a way that every day of the week is a different colour e.g. Tuesdays are Blue, Wednesdays will automatically turn pink etc. how will I do that?
I have a spreadsheet that I use to log incidents. In column "A" I have the date in month/day/year format (8/14/2014). I am attempting to automate the graphing process so I have a graph that will tell me how many incidents I had in the month of August. I have attempted the following formulas (and other similar formates with minor changes)...
=COUNTIF('CY14'!A2:A500,"8,2014") and changed around the date format =COUNTIF('CY14'!A2:A500,"&DATE(8,2014)) =COUNTIF('CY14'!A2:A500,"August")
All of these come up with "0" while I have 17 listed incidents for August. Am I doing something wrong, or is this not possible.
I'm basically looking for a forumla that will count each employees total scheduled work days for the month inserted and then depening upon the day it is will show how many days the employee has left to work for the month.
I have a date in col A and a time in col B. I'm trying to use an if function so that if time in Col B is greater than 15:30, the date in col A is returned plus one day. If time in col B is less than 15:30, date in col A returned with no change.
I have one column with as many as 50,000 or more rows. The data format for each row/ cell is unique as shown below ( date and time). I wanted to split the data as shown in "Formatted Data" below. Have Tried Text To Column formatting but didn't work right.
Raw Data: Formatted Data (2 cells): 2005/11/02 23:55:15.758 ==> 2005/11/02 23:55:15.758 2005/11/02 23:58:16.698 ==> 2005/11/02 23:58:16.698 2005/11/03 00:07:13.830 2005/11/03 00:10:14.971
I'm trying to count how many times an action happens between a time frame on a certain date.
This is how my data looks and comes to me (screen shot of a small portion of it - there are 22876 cells to count and it's very time consuming to manually):

There is no way to separate the date and time with the program the data comes from.
What I'd like to do is count what how many transactions take place between 10/1/2013 12:00:01 AM and 10/1/2013 3:00:00 AM (example time frame) from the above data.
I have a cells with a date and time in each cell. I want to subtract the number of days between the cells only. Is there a way to do that with the time in the cell? If not, how do I remove the time in each cell?
I have spent too many hours Googling and trial with mostly error in attempting this. I formatted the very first cell A1 for today's date =TODAY(); this is also dirrectly above the column with all the dates in it. I just want an entire row's contents to turn red if it is 15 days old or older. This =$A1<TODAY()-15 somewhat works, but it only turns the date cell red, not the whole row. It also makes blank cells turns red, which I would like to remain blank (another formula is needed I imagine).
I have a cell with both date & time "10/9/09 3:15" This is put in the current cell by formula which indexes two dif. cells, Now I am trying to copy this cell and paste into another book but like to have only date. How can I do that? Each time I try it gives me the time value in the pasted cell and I cannot even format it.
I have a Excel Dates & Times column where the time is not always used. In these cases the time is 12:00AM. Is there a way to Custom Formats the cell so that the time is only visible if it is not 12:00AM?
I need to make formulas to count the number of weeks that each phase of a project takes, but I currently have the start and end dates of the phases. (See attachment)
Assuming that a workday is from 8:30am to 5:00pm. (also need to not calcualte Saturday and Sunday but this example doesn't show it).
Wednesday, 7/18/07 at 4:00pm (minus) Friday, 7/20/07 at 9:00am (should equal) 10 hours or 1 day, 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Basically what I want to do it determine how much work time has elapsed from the time a message was left on voicemail to the time that someone picks that message up. We only want to assume that a message can be retrieved duruing business hours but a message can be left at anytime!
I have a sheet with a list of dates in it that I wish to format to show the day as well as date and time. I am trying to do this automatically with a macro, below is the before and the desired after.
Before Format - dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm Appearance - 29/03/2009 00:30
After Format - ddd dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm Appearance - Sun 29/03/2009 00:30
This works fine when I format the cells manually, but when I try to format them via macro '29/03/2009 00:30' becomes 'Sun 29/03/2009 12:30' which is obviously a totally different time! Has anyone got ay idea why it might be doing this?
I have a spread sheet with a date colume that reads: 2012-06-27-19 I need to have this read like 06/27/2012 but nothing I do is working I have tried to go to the formatting process and backing the hr:mm out and that doesn't work. I really don't want to go line by line to manually correct this issue.. HENCE ... over 2000 lines
Second question: If I have a column that reads 02/15/2012 and another column that reads 3/27/2012 how to a format a 3rd column to make it read total number of days between 1st date and 2nd date?
