I know how to use array formulae to create a unique list, i.e.{=INDEX($G$1:$G$760,SMALL(IF(ROW($G$1:$G$760)=MATCH($G$1:$G$760,$G$1:$G$760,0),ROW($G$1:$G$760)),ROW()))}
however this is giving all the unique items from column G and I only want the unique items that have a non-zero value in column H as well. This would be the sumif of all instances that would have to be zero. I've tried to crack it and I've tried to search for solutions but so far no joy.
I have a workbook with about 10000 rows of data for about 100 suppliers in Sheet1 and about 15000 rows of same Suppliers payment details in sheet2.
What I am doing now is:-Filter every supplier names in Column A of sheet1, copy all the rows and paste in sheet1 of a new workook & Again copy the Payment details of a same supplier from master file sheet2 and paste the same in sheet2 of this new workbook then save the files with the supplier name as file name in my documents folder code, that filters each suppliers data from sheet1 & 2 and paste in new workbook sheet1 & 2.
method. It seems like the limitation is in the Countif function going over 1000 (or some other size limit)
I have a list of ~1500 rows, of that there are approximately 55 unique items. Doing the unique array works correctly up until item ~40, upon which it fails by returning the 1st item only (for the rest).
Trying to debug, and pulling out the Match section, it functions up until 976 (that is
MATCH(0,COUNTIF($N$1:$N40,$C$3:$C$1500),0)
returns 976) anything after returns just 1 (1st item).
It seems to be a limitation on the text string size that COUNTIF can handle.
In the attached file, details sheet contains multiple instances of project with associated costs for each of 2006, 2007 and 2008. What I need is a formula (preferably) or a VBA that select distinct project names and populate column B of summary sheet so I can do a sum if. The problem is the project names changes dynamically every week and they are practically in hundreds.
I have a long column of 9-digit numbers which represent the swipe-card-ID's of patrons accessing a parking facility. Most of them occur more than once, some of them many times. There is an operational rule that bars them from using the facility more than x times. (I can't implement this limitation in the parking software/hardware, or I would happily do so.)
So my question is, is there a way to process through that column, identifying each unique ID, and reporting any that occur more than x times?
im looking to have a drop down list on sheet2 that displays unique items in column A on sheet 1.
then when an item is selected from the drop down list, i want to be able to display all unique values that correspond to that option. i have attached an example worksheet
Where H1 contains the word Assigned. I need to also find and add to count for matches in I1,J1 and K1 which contain New, Pending and Work in Progress respectively.
I am able to quite easily count the number of specific values in a cell after the table has been filtered. However, the problem I have run into is that some times the data needs to be placed into the spreadsheet twice (or to be more specific the same subject is associated with several unique data points).
What I need: some way to count the instance of some give value in column D only once based on the presence of a duplicate (unique) identifier in column C. However, when I filter the entire database, it must count *only* the filtered cells and not the hidden cells as well.
Picture: Column C Column D 111111 M 111111 M 111111 M
[Code]....
Currently calculates: M=9, F=2
Right now it incorrectly states there are 9 "M" from column D when it really should be 5 since 3 are duplicate values. My main difficulty is making sure this continues to work after I filter the entire sheet (say column ZZ) and have a bunch of hidden cells.
Equation currently using to count only filtered values (in this case "males" and "females"): ="M = " & SUMPRODUCT(SUBTOTAL(3,OFFSET(D3:D13,ROW(D3:D13)-MIN(ROW(D3:D13)),,1))*(D3:D13="M"))
In Column A I have a list of Products and in Column B is the list of corresponding prices. I'd like to create a drop down list with the items in Column A that would automatically fill-in the pricing from Column B next to it. I've tried using an IF statement, but my product list is too long.
I was going through a thread that is open now about a similar subject: Create Workbooks & Worksheets For Each Group In Table. I tried getting it to work myself but was unsuccessful. I want a code that will create a new workbook for every new Vendor. I tried doing it myself but was getting compile errors... If this is not what I should be using let me know, it works the way I want with just worksheets, i thought it would be an easy conversion to workbooks
Sub PagesByDescription() Dim rRange As Range, rCell As Range Dim wSheet As Worksheet Dim wSheetStart As Worksheet Dim strText As String Set wSheetStart = ActiveSheet wSheetStart.AutoFilterMode = False 'Set a range variable to the correct item column Set rRange = Range("A1", Range("A65536").End(xlUp)) 'Delete any sheet called "UniqueList" 'Turn off run time errors & delete alert On Error Resume Next Application.DisplayAlerts = False Worksheets("UniqueList").Delete 'Add a sheet called "UniqueList" Worksheets.Add().Name = "UniqueList".....................
I have a workbook that lists system analysts and information on the systems they're responsible for. I would like to have an Excel macro that will:
1. Create and name a new worksheet for each UNIQUE value in the 'Name' column (new worksheet for each analyst) 2. Copy their system info to each respective worksheet
I am trying to insert a listbox by the way of data validation and would like to only have unique data displayed in it. I was wondering if anybody has done this before or if it is possible. I would like it to remove any and all records that are blank.
This is what I have got so far.................
VBA Function UniqueItems(ArrayIn, Optional Count As Variant) As Variant ' Accepts an array or range as input ' If Count = True or is missing, the function returns the number ' of unique elements ' If Count = False, the function returns a variant array of unique ' elements
Next i
AddItem: ' If not in list, add the item to unique list If Not FoundMatch Then NumUnique = NumUnique + 1 ReDim Preserve Unique(NumUnique) Unique(NumUnique) = Element End If
Next Element
' Assign a value to the function If Count Then UniqueItems = NumUnique Else UniqueItems = Unique End Function
Then I input an array with a few duplicate Item and us the function to determine the list. So far I found that it worked for the following function: {=TRANSPOSE(UniqueItems(A4:A27))} but this only gives me the number of unique items in the array. The problem is when I try to use the following function: {=TRANSPOSE(UniqueItems(A3:A26,FALSE))} This now only returns a zero and if I fill down they all are zero.
I would like to get a list of unique items from this formula. Example list would be: {Array = Lorem, Lorem, foo, bar, bar} {Formula_returns = Lorem, foo, bar} I haven't a clue how to display this in a regular excel cell box so I thought that using a validation list box would inherently work.
Our reservation system exports a spreasheet daily which contains hundreds of records relating to bookings. The worksheet has an ID column which is not unique, but is sorted alphabetically. I need to write some code to delete all records below the first 'set' of records relating to the first ID value found. i.e. i want to end up with only the set of records relating to the first ID found. So the basic logic would be to look at the value of the field in the ID column of the first record and then iterate down the rows until it came to a different value and then delete all rows below that. Its simple in concept, but im stuck on how to write this.
In that file, you can see there is a list of somewhat similar data across 5 columns. Some of the entries are duplicates, some are different by only one character. What I want to be able to do is generate a list of all the unique rows of data, taking into account the data from ALL 5 columns. The list can be on another sheet or simply just further down on the same sheet, that doesn't matter too much.
I could do it if it were just one column of data, but struggling trying to do it with several columns.
In D2:D11, I want a non-duplicate list of all the "1" names, i.e., Bob and Josh. In E2:E11, a list of all the "2" names (Sally, Bill & Jacob), and so on. Sorted would be nice, but not necessary. When new names and their numbers are added to A1:B200, they need to automatically show up in D2:G:201 as appropriate. I've looked over VLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH, etc., but all seem to simply return the first and not every match. Maybe I'm just missing it.
Is this possible without VBA? Not that I have any objection to it, but delving into and learning it is a little outside the available time I have now. If it takes VBA I'll address it when I can free up some time.
I have to copy and paste each group of "Control Accounts" from column A into a separate workbook. I want to create a macro that can open as many new workbooks as there are unique records in column A and copy paste each group of unique records into those different workbooks.
I want to end up with a list of unique items (nothing repeated) from a variable length list starting in cell B5. That unique list is then placed in cell D3.
I am using the code below (found on Ozgrid) which almost works. But it seems to be dependent on what’s in column A (which I wish to ignore) for it to work.
How can I modify the code so that the results are based on column B only?
Dim Rng As Range Dim fRng As Range Dim lRow As Long Dim Dest As Range
lRow = Range("B" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row Set Rng = Range("A5:B" & lRow) Set Dest = [D3]
With Rng . AutoFilter Field:=1, Criteria1:="1*" Set fRng = .Offset(1, 1).Resize(.Rows.Count - 1, 1).SpecialCells(xlCellTypeVisible) With fRng .AdvancedFilter Action:=xlFilterCopy, CopyToRange:=Dest, Unique:=True
this code "Creates a New Workbook" for each item listed in an excel table, then, copy all unique values in their respective Workbook and save it. So, the problem is this. instead of creating a "New Workbook", i want to open a previously created Workbook (template) and do the procedures listed above. Is this posible?
Sub Copy_To_Workbooks() Dim CalcMode As Long Dim ws1 As Worksheet Dim ws2 As Worksheet Dim WSNew As Worksheet Dim rng As Range Dim cell As Range Dim Lrow As Long Dim foldername As String Dim MyPath As String Dim FieldNum As Integer Dim FileExtStr As String Dim FileFormatNum As Long Set ws1 = Sheets("Sheet1") '<<< Change If Val(Application.Version) < 12 Then 'You use Excel 97-2003 FileExtStr = ".xls": FileFormatNum = -4143 Else If ws1.Parent.FileFormat = 56 Then FileExtStr = ".xls": FileFormatNum = 56 Else FileExtStr = ".xlsx": FileFormatNum = 51 End If End If..............
I would like to know how to combine multiple cell value from each column to create a unique value. for example column A will have values (a,a,b,c,d,e,e,f,i,j) and B will have (1,2,1,1,3,4,5,5,6,7) and C has ( xxx, yyy, zzz, xxx, yyy, zzz, xxx, xxx, yyy, zzz).
i need to create a list of unique possible combination of data into column D.
I have placed below example and how to create a similar code and what functionality does this.
Most details are shown in the spreadsheet below. I would like it to be dynamic because the quarterly and annual data dumps I'm working with are are hundreds to thousands of lines.
Have the list be sorted, which is a part of the first attempt, would be nice but is not necessary. At this point, just being able to generate the dynamic list would be fantastic.

I have some raw data of employment records on one workbook and from this i need to autopopulate there information into another workbook.
I need to split the records up by the different departments they work . I.e so what i am after if possible is -
If The department name in the raw data matches column A1 for example then it auto populates down in B2 all the names of people who work in that department .
Here's the most important part: There will be formulas in Column D in Sheet 2 that I need to stay with each item. generating the desired result on Sheet 2!
I need a Macro to create a unique, rolling data list. On Sheet 1, a report is pasted(from outside source) in cell A3(Rows 1 & 2 are headers) on a weekly basis. It is always the same amount of columns wide(138). The number of rows will always vary but will never be more than 500.
Here’s what I need for Sheet 2:
-Column A should be a copy from Column A on Sheet 1 (data is ITEMS) -Column B should be a copy from Column BH on Sheet 1 (data is QUANTITY of items) -Column C should be a copy from Column BI on Sheet 1 (data is PRICE of items)
Here’s the challenge (when the new report is pasted on Sheet 1):
-Sheet 1. Find new ITEMS not on Sheet 2 and paste them at the end of the report on Sheet 2 along with their QUANTITY and PRICE -Sheet 1. Find any ITEMS already on Sheet 2, then update new QUANTITY and PRICE from Sheet 1 onto Sheet 2 -Sheet 2. Leave ITEMS alone that are now missing from the new report on Sheet 1
I have a spreadsheet of 12 columns (A to L), with a list of student names under each down to row 31. Each column represents an after-school club that the child can attend.
However, a child can sign up to multiple clubs, so their name can appear in several places across the spreadsheet.
What I would like to do is have a 13th column which is an overall list of students who have signed up to at least 1 club, i.e. their name appears at least once in columns A to L.
How do I achieve this so that only unique entries are listed and duplicates are removed in this 13th column?
I'm making a user form in excel/vbe, that will enter data into a worksheet behind the form. I would like to make a unique reference number that is automatically generated by the form as the next in the series. It can be as simple a number as 00001 so nothing too complicated I hope.
When the user opens the user-form i would like the reference to appear on the form so that they know what it is. Then when they enter the data I want the number to go in the database with all the rest of the info they have entered and also for a message box to come up reminding them to rememeber their number.
