# Cumulative Sum For Weekly Average Hours Over A Month

Apr 21, 2009
I have a column called "Weekly Working Hours" which totals the number of hours worked per week. The cell is filled in every Saturday.

In the next column I have "Average Weekly Working Hours per Month" which needs to calculate the average number of weekly hours every four weeks, filled in every Saturday.

Please see attached file. I am referring to columns J and K ....

I have created a time sheet in excel (see attached) that will be part of the larger workbook that will be linked with other sheets to auto fill in most fields. I am wondering if there is a way for an user to enter a Month and a Year at the top of the page and that in turn automatically fills in the days of the month by week.

So in attached sheet there are 5 boxes representing 5 weeks in a month. So if we used May 2014 as an example I would like to know if there is a way that once May 2014 is entered in up to top that. Excel fills in the dates in Week #1 with under Thursday showing 1st, under Friday showing 2nd as on for the entire month...

So as the month go by all user has to do is state the month and year and excel fills in the weekly dates for each day in month.

I have a list of daily sales which I would like to have a cumulative total by month. Once the next month is encountered, the cumulative total will reset for that month again.

E.g. (please see attached file)

Column C is my cumulative total. The cumulative sum will reset when the month changes from Jan to Feb.

I can achieve the results using VBA but I need to distribute my report to parties whose VBA environment is disabled. So, I need to work around this with a formula.

I have created the bulk of the worksheet, and I am now on the summary page. My challenge for the summary is looking up when someone's name appears in Column A on any of the sheets, then summing the hours per week that the person worked.

The main sheets are to track hours, and billable dollars per project, but the summary is to track total hours per team member per week to make sure staff is being full utilized.

In the examples I have attached Aaron's summary should have 13 hrs per week listed. I do not have the foggiest clue how to do a lookup on a name when the position and sheet is random, and return a value summed for each week.

On the summary sheet I did copy rows 1&2 so at least the summary columns match the sheets.

Example 1 is a sample of the detail on 1 of the 5 sheets that in this example could contain Aaron's name in any random place in column A. Example 2 is my hope for the summary page, that will sum those random hours per week matching the headers on the Detailed sheets.

I have a variable list of items in date order, there could be one, more than one, or, no items for any one date Each item has it's own line. I need a formula in a separate column (column F) to total each day's items. Column A includes the Date. Column F is a cumulative total (as in Column C) for items on the same date. Column C=D+E. I am looking for a formula which will add up items in column C if they have the same date in column A, and put the answer in the last cell in column F for that date. Example........................

I hope this question has not been addressed but the closest I can find is in this link:

I am now a commission based contractor who started earlier this year & I want to be able to calculate my current average weekly income which should fluctuate greatly. I have a spreadsheet that works out what my current to date net income is but can't figure out how to break this down to a weekly avarage. My basic guess is that I want to take the figure provided and divide it by the number of weeks from "stated start date" to the current date (but on a divided by 7 basis?) to get my average weekly net income.

I am sure this is pretty simple for you all so I hope I am not wasting time it's just that if I try figure it out I am using something like WEEKNUM & that will fail after the next new year. -Although it would be better to base it all around the financial year if that can be done? (March 1st - April 31st in NZ)

I have created a table for a business to monitor all income and expenses within a financial year of that business. This table contains raw data for example, date, income/expense, wholesale amount, retail amount etc. So when the business makes a sale for example I enter in the date of the sale, type of sale, wholesale and retail amounts etc, and i do this for every sale I make.

What i need to do is figure out a way to calculate the average monthly and weekly income to date so as the financial year continues and i make more sales i will continue to enter more data into this table and it will automatically adjust to the new weekly or monthly average income. This way i always have an actual and live average for every cent the business has made as the year progresses and i can use this to budget for the business. I would also like to know what the income is for the current week or month. that way i can say for example on average the business makes $4000 a week and in this week it has made say $5000.

I have two time series which span several years. The first series measures stock levels on every Friday (52 values a year). The second series measures the price level every weekday (260 values a year).

I'd like to condense the daily data in to a weekly average, can I do this easily? For example, I could manually use the Weeknum function to calculate the week number of each daily price data, then find the average daily price for each week, thus giving me 52 values which I can compare to the weekly stock series. Is there an automatic, fast way of doing this? Alternatively, I'd be happy to settle with a monthly average. Is this possible via macro's or does VBA need to be used?

I am wanting to calculate a rolling monthly average and a rolling weekly average.

The following cells have the headers k2 has Allan, Cell L2 has Bill, Cell M2 has Charlie, Cell N2 has Don, cell o2 has Ellen and Cell P2 has Flora

Column J3 to J14 respectivley has Jan to Dec

The balance of the cells will have the data.

For my business, I am tracking how many sales I am doing per hour. That one was easy. NOW I need to track the average number of customers that I have for each day of the week, Sunday-Saturday. I need for one page to look at another page and, every time the word 'Sunday' is there, take that row of hourly jobs and average them with every other 'Sunday' and give me the total average number of customers on each Sunday, Monday, etc.

Attached is my worksheet for review. If you look at the 'Tracking' and 'Balances' tabs, you'll get the idea......

In the attached workbook, the CASTINGS worksheet has a SOH ( stock on hand) column.

It looks up the SOH from the SOH worksheet (column 3) for each product on order for that week.

But how do I make week 2 use the SOH figure minus the previous weeks order, IF there was an order?

And so on until week 52.

The problem I have found is what if that product wasnt ordered for the last 4 weeks? Maybe I need a temp worksheet with all the products listed for all the weeks and a running total of SOH weather it is ordered or not?

I'm a pilot and have to keep a dreaded logbook of each flight and do month totals.

My log book looks like this:

Date From To Hrs

22/07/11 LHR CDG 1.3

22/07/11 CDG LHR 1.3

23/07/11 LHR FCO 1.3

23/07/11 FCO LHR 1.3

etc

I've been looking for a formula where by I can sum the total hours per month so that it looks like this:

Total hrs flown June 2011: (clever lookup formula goes here)

Total hrs flown July 2011: (clever lookup formula goes here)

I've tried vlookup but can't seem to get anything to work.

I am currently tracking our company's service tasks in Excel and would like a formula or method that will take the total hours a task has been approved for and equally distribute the hours into columns under each month.

Column A = Resource

Column B = Task Owner

Column C = Task Name

Column D = Task Description

Column E = Approved Hours

Column F = Start Date

Column G = End Date

Column H = Jan 07

Column I = Feb 07

Column J = March 07 etc. etc.

I basically want to take the approved hours (Column E) and have those hours automatically calculated and filled into the month columns (Column H forward), as per the start and end date fields (Column F & G) so the hours are evenly distributed over each month.

I am 2007 Excel user.

I am attempting to take a large data download of time in hours and minutes and average or get the sum. Each cell contains hours and minutes in this format:

203:30 (meaning 203 hours and 30 minutes)

196:05

72:22

6:55

I have formatted the column in everyway I can think of from custom hh:mm to time, to scientific--I have grasped at each straw I have used the TRIM function to ensure there is no leading space. When I attempt to average I receive the #DIV/0! error, and when I attempt to use SUM, I get a dash (-).

I have been researching this on the internet, and have tried everything that is slightly applicable, with no luck yet. I am wondering if it is because the hours are more than 24, so the hh:mm format does not truly apply...

I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with this formula. =(SUMIF(Q14:Q4995, "<="&EOMONTH(TODAY(),0),W14:W4995))-(SUMIF(Q14:Q4995, "<="&EOMONTH(TODAY(),-1)+1,W14:W4995)). I've got a cell that adds Total hours worked which pulls from the same column of entered data as the formula above and that cell works. My hours for the month however just shows up as zero. If I try and edit the formula or even just highlight it to copy it and then tab out of the cell this shows up...

1/0/00

If I undo the highlight and tab it will go back to showing zero. I've checked my dates that I entered and they are correct. I'm at a loss as to how to fix this formula.

I have a base of workers which log each day their activities in hours (D01-D11). I would like a macro to sum total hours of each project (project numbers are from 320-516) and put it into the table on the left.

For example: For PERSON 1, I want that the cell I60 writes 10, and cell I74 = 6. For worker 2 (PERSON 2) would be AK60 = 3,5; AK67 = 8 and AK74 = 8.

In total where would have been 10 workers.

which basically looks at the Month and Year in reference cells then looks through my data on a sheet called DSA..

I have a colum on the DSA sheet AX5:AX10000 where there is a number

I want to be able to calculate the average of these numbers but only if the conditions in the above formula are met.

For example, if the month was MAR 2009 then i would only have the average of numbers present in Colum AX on the DSA sheet for March 2009.
