I am currently tracking our company's service tasks in Excel and would like a formula or method that will take the total hours a task has been approved for and equally distribute the hours into columns under each month.

Column A = Resource
Column B = Task Owner
Column C = Task Name
Column D = Task Description
Column E = Approved Hours
Column F = Start Date
Column G = End Date
Column H = Jan 07
Column I = Feb 07
Column J = March 07 etc. etc.

I basically want to take the approved hours (Column E) and have those hours automatically calculated and filled into the month columns (Column H forward), as per the start and end date fields (Column F & G) so the hours are evenly distributed over each month.

I m trying to write a formula for my financial model. If anyone can take a stab at a solution. I'm trying to write a formula that will equally distribute revenue either over the next 1 month, 2 month or 3 month period depending on size of the deal.

Details: Sales will fit in 1 of 3 categories. Less than 25k; between 25k & 100k; greater than 100k.

- if under $25K, recognize in next month (month N+ 1) - $25K-100K, recognize in two equal parts in months N + 1 and N + 2 - over $100K, recognize in three equal parts over 3 months N + 1, N + 2, N + 3 ...

i'm trying to find a way to distribute days per month between 2 dates. I have found a great exemple that should to de trick but there is still a problem left in it. it gives in the next year (this case '08) an +31 value and a negative value

I have a time table which some hours are 3 hours time period. I want to distribute to new table hour by hour this kind of hours, or hour to same hour period.

Is there a way to conver a persons time spent (given in weeks) to adjust/convert to show per month. Attached is the sheet. Do note that week 2/25 - 3/1 is a combination of Jan and Feb so hours should be logically divided into jan and feb...

Name 2/18 - 2/22 2/25 - 3/1 3/4 - 3/8 3/11 - 3/15 Feb mar Tom 40 10 0 20 ?? ?? name 2/18-2/22 2/25 - 3/1 3/4 - 3/8 3/11-3/15 Feb Mar

I have a column called "Weekly Working Hours" which totals the number of hours worked per week. The cell is filled in every Saturday.

In the next column I have "Average Weekly Working Hours per Month" which needs to calculate the average number of weekly hours every four weeks, filled in every Saturday.

Please see attached file. I am referring to columns J and K ....

I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with this formula. =(SUMIF(Q14:Q4995, "<="&EOMONTH(TODAY(),0),W14:W4995))-(SUMIF(Q14:Q4995, "<="&EOMONTH(TODAY(),-1)+1,W14:W4995)). I've got a cell that adds Total hours worked which pulls from the same column of entered data as the formula above and that cell works. My hours for the month however just shows up as zero. If I try and edit the formula or even just highlight it to copy it and then tab out of the cell this shows up...

1/0/00

If I undo the highlight and tab it will go back to showing zero. I've checked my dates that I entered and they are correct. I'm at a loss as to how to fix this formula.

I have a base of workers which log each day their activities in hours (D01-D11). I would like a macro to sum total hours of each project (project numbers are from 320-516) and put it into the table on the left.

For example: For PERSON 1, I want that the cell I60 writes 10, and cell I74 = 6. For worker 2 (PERSON 2) would be AK60 = 3,5; AK67 = 8 and AK74 = 8.

I have a total at the bottom of my spreadsheet and I want to distribute that total equaly to the missing columns for each month and each product highlighted in green in the spreadsheet. What formula do I need to use to be able to do that?

At the end I want the numbers in each month to total the total at the bottom.

As you can see on the example i have TEST hours.xlsx, I have a file that calculate the money every doctor should take based on the working hours.

Nights, holidays and holiday night have different price/hour.

The excel is working fine…but now I have to make a formula that separates automatically based on the beginning time and the end time of the doctor’s shift the day hours tha night hours, the holiday hours and the holiday nights hours. In the excel I have fill the hours Manuscript, I need a formula to do that for me…

On the yellow cell I have try to find out the formula for the holiday hours but because the day is calculated due to a formula it is not working!!!

Simple Example: A doctor Is working from 21:00- 8:00 (next morning Sunday) he should have 1 simple hour (21:00-22:00) 9 night hours (22:00-6:00) and 2 holiday hours (6:00-8:00,)

When we sell things here at a 'sale' price there is always an argument as to who's department needs to give the discount off.

Each job we do has a labour time and an hourly labour rate.

Each part has a profit in it.

So if something is normally £100 but we are going so sell it for £80 we need tio split the £20 reduction evenly to both departments based on the GP each department has in the sale.

See attached : GP Reduction per department.xlsx‎

I need a formula to do two things I need it to look at Cell C2 and if it does not contain a number then I want the letter A put in the cell, if it contains a number then if that number is divisible by five giving a whole number i.e like 10,15 20 would, then input 1, but if not 2.

I don't know how else to ask this so I will just tell you what I'm trying to do.

-I have a list of name on one column say "A" and this list of names goes through "A1" through "A145"

-I am taking those names and pasting them via "right click" "paste special" "Values" onto another spreadsheet.

-BUT I have to take each name one by one and paste them evenly in every 8th row for example ( "A1" A8" "A16" "A24" ...)

-Is there a way to take the existing data on that row and just spread it evenly throughout the same row? So I don't have to take names one by one by one...

How to increase & decrease numbers evenly for a spreadsheet.

I have a number in cell F16 that can be changed and for this example say it has a value of 900. I have a number in cell F17 that is always more than cell F16, for this example lets say it is 1000.

What I'm trying to do is create 10 numbers evenly increasing away from 900 (F16) in value, & 10 numbers evenly decreasing in value away from 900 (Cell F16) but here's the catch.

What makes this tricky is that the numbers that are increasing in value away from 900 (F16) can't be bigger than the value of F17 , IE in this example the number 1000

So the formulas must evenly distribute 10 numbers BETWEEN 900 & 1000. This must have the same even distribution for the increasing numbers & decreasing numbers.

I'll attach a sheet also. So, if you say 900 is a starting point & 1000 is the ending point, what formulas would you need in each cell to evenly increase to 1000?

Also,, going the other way, decreasing, away from 900 at the same rate as the increase?

Really stuck n this 1. Spreadsheet here: [URL] ...... Screenshot here: [URL] ......

I am using a staff schedule spreadsheet and have each column displaying text of where a staff person is assigned.

Instead of displaying the word "lunch" separately across several columns, is it possible to merge several columns and have the word "lunch" automatically stretched evenly across the several merged columns?

I dont want it to be centered but to literally be stretched to fit evenly across all of the merged cells.

In column A I have a date AND time entered. By the way, this is not via cell format, I have manually entered, say today's date and the current time. In column B I have a future date and time.

Basically, column A is the date and time a problem was given to me. Column B would be the date and time I resolved the problem. Now for the formula....Column C needs to spit out whether the problem was solved between 24 and 48 hours OR less than 24 hours OR greater than 48 hours.

I have created a Macro and would like to make it available to other members of my team. This Macro is to be used in various different workbooks - so it cannot be tied to a single specific workbook. I tried creating an Add-In, but I've learned that, even if I instruct my colleagues how to load the Add-In, they will not be able to see the Macro that is inside it. So what methods are recommended for distributing Macro's to other users?

I been working on excel sheet that will distribute 200 items between the employees that are available to work. I've attached a copy of the workbook. First I need to look at the quantity of employees I have working that day. Second Distribute the items to each one of the employees. Third give the first employee the first piece. Fourth give the next available piece to the last person with a zero piece in their list.

I organize monthly audits of work completed by the team. Essentially we all audit each others work; but we cannot audit our own work.

I would like a formula that will evenly distribute the jobs for audit without passing a job back to someone that owns the job originally. e.g. Gareth cannot audit a job Gareth owns, but can audit Zach or Claire's jobs. The Excel sheet attached should make it easy to understand.

So far I have tried: =INDEX(A2:A24,RANDBETWEEN(2,24)) but this duplicates data and I cannot get it to evenly spread the jobs amongst the team.

I have a workbook that needs to fill the column B (if the column A is populated) with Column C if the column D is "YEs" once i clicked the command button. the distribution should be even. i tried rand() but its not distributively well, so i'm thinking to work it with macro.

Is there a tool that can make an Excel application behave like a “real” software? Meaning, the user will still be able to do what I planned for him to do with the file, BUT it will be very difficult for the more-than-average user to “crack” any password protections I have applied to the file? (Something like an MDE file in Access, perhaps?) The reason I am asking is because I have invested a lot of time and efforts into creating an application that I wish to sell to some of my clients, and don’t want them to easily find their way into the formulas and macros I have placed in the file.

The protection tool does not have to be an Excel tool, necessarily, but it should not require any programming skills (because I don’t have them. If there isn’t such a tool? My application contains User Forms (for input), a Database (with Auto Filters and formulas) and some Pivot Table reports. BTW, my application was created in Excel 2003 but should also be used by users with Excel 2007.
