Date And Time Values To Be Represented On Timeline Automatically

Jun 19, 2014

I have been trying to formulate a condition to fill up my timeline by checking the start and end times and date of jobs.

In my attached worksheet, I have an example (which was done manually) what I would expect the timeline to look.

[URL]...

For example,

SLIS900H has a start of 6/8/2014 11:54:05 AM and end of 6/8/2014 12:03:15 PM

As such, the TimeLine entries 06/08/14 11:00 and 06/08/14 12:00 would be shaded (or at least have some indication that it is to be shaded). After which, the Main Task from which SLIS900H belongs to (TSOH Extraction), would also have its Timeline shaded.

Count Number Of Dates Greater Than A Stated Date

Apr 9, 2014

I have a range of dates B1:B100 which I want to compare to a certain date A1 and see how many are greater than my stated date A1.

I've tried with countif(B1:B100, "=>A1") which I thought would work, but it gives the error Value!

How do I do this?

Date Formula- To Count The Number Of Days Between 2 Dates

Aug 4, 2008

I have been using a formula to count the number of days between 2 dates and if the date was older than 12 months it would work fine.

The data that i was using has been changed and they have decided to change the format of the dates and dropped the year reference no all i have to work with is dates like 27-07 this represents 27th July i can format this date to work fine unless the date falls before 1 jan this year all i get is lots of numbers and it stuffs up the whole calculation.

The formula i am using to compare the dates is

=DATEDIF(N31,$D$1,"d")

Counting Number Of Dates Equal To Or Greater Than A Said Date

I have cells ( F8:F108) where I have been manually entering an asterik (*) for those jobs equal to or greater than five days old in cell (A2). Is there a formula that can do the math for me? I've tried Excel help but to no avail.

How do I manage to count the no. of records with equal dates at the same row?

I have used the following but this gives me zero, while in the example below the result should be 3.

Calculating Number Late Last Week From Multiple Dates / Date Sets

Jul 2, 2014

I am putting together a simple table to display current week's data vs previous weeks. The current week's data is drawn from a status chart which changes frequently. The constant change is fine for 'Current' as I only want the current data displayed.

The problem I am having is calculating the number of late jobs that existed during the previous week.

The status log has a due date which is compared to the current date to determine 'on time' status for the current week.
Due dates are reissued regularly so I can't use

=COUNTIF(RANGE,WEEKNUM(NOW()-1)) to return data about last week from my status chart.

I have available a 'Movement Log' (in the workbook but a separate worksheet) which tracks the changes in the due date field, but I'm not sure how to integrate that data to calculate the # of jobs that were running late from the last week.

My thought is that I need to perform a count of the # of late based on a comparison of 'due date' to 'date of the last day of last week' with a way to insert the "old due date" from the movement log to replace what is shown in the status log if necessary.

How To Remove Duplicated ID But Have Them Add Up Values ID Represented

Jul 28, 2014

Remove duplicate but add values.xlsx

I have about 800 records and the the unique identifier are the names. Some owners are repeated several times and they have different values for the EDU column in my project. I need to remove any duplicated owners but I need to add up the values of each record that had value so I can get a combined value for one owner instead of a repeated owner with smaller values. How would I go by doing that? A formula or is there a tool in excel? I am lost on this one. I uploaded a sample file so you can see what I trying to do.

BTW i found if the values are the same for the EDU then I can not add them since it is also duplicated. I can only add up the unique values for the EDU.

Copy Rows Represented By Checked Check Boxes

Sep 8, 2007

I have created checkbox for all the rows of items in sheet1 so that they will be able to select and then copy to sheet2.

example:

If a checkbox at row 1 in sheet1 is selected, the entire row (which the checkbox represent) will be copy into sheet2 (which would have the same column headers).

If a checkbox at row 2 in sheet1 is not selected, nothing will be done there.

If a checkbox at row 3 in sheet1 is selected, then the entire row of 3 in sheet1 will be copy again into the next avalible row in sheet2 (in this case, row 2 in sheet2)

.
.
.

There will be other informations at the beginning (top) of each excel worksheet which does not need to be touch at all. Only the data portion (starting column C row 16 in sheet1 and column A row 16 in sheet2) will need to have the above function.

Count Dates & String Dates After Given Date

May 14, 2008

The attached workbook has dates in column C, although some of these dates are just strings.

I'm trying to write some vba that will tell me how many of the cells in column C contain a date (or looks like a date) that is greater than (after) the real date in cell G1.

At the moment I loop through the cells in column C and can ascertain, which dates can be counted, then copy one row over at a time, but I'm looking for a slicker (perhaps one-liner) answer, perhaps by copying a block of rows in one go. The aim is to copy those rows to another sheet. There are many more rows than in the attached, and many sheets to process, and I have no control over the format of the dates/strings in column C. Currently it takes about 20 seconds to copy over the necessary rows, but I'm looking for it to happen much more quickly; current thoughts are to sort on column C (sorting on column C anything that looks like a number as a number - which has it's own problems!), have a count of dates satisfying the criterion (say using a worksheet formula such as COUNTIF or SUMPRODUCT, perhaps also using EVALUATE) then copy a block of rows in one go.

not very relevant, but the existing code is something like this which highlights rather than copyies the rows(included in the attached): ...

Meaning Of Bracket Notation

Feb 9, 2007

The following code was posted in another thread:

Private Sub UserForm_Initialize()
Dim a, v, x, ws As Worksheet
Set ws = Sheets("Scheduled Courses")
a = ws. Range("a2", ws.[a65536].End(xlUp)).Value
With CreateObject("scripting.dictionary")
For Each v In a
If Not IsEmpty(v) And Not .exists(v) Then
.Add v, Nothing
End If
Next
x = .keys
End With
With Me.ComboBox1
.Clear ' clear the listbox content
.List = x
.ListIndex = 0 ' select the first item
End With
End Sub

How are the brackets used in the 4th line? I have not seen this notation before. Is this some kind of a shorthand for a Range("A65536") reference?

Calculate Number Of Days Between 2 Dates And Then Assign Number Based On Answer

Mar 22, 2014

How to create a spreadsheet with what I think will be a very simple formula?

If date in B2 - date in A2 is 1 or less days, put a 1 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 7 or less days but more than 1, put a 2 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 30 or less days but more than 7, put a 3 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 90 or less days but more than 30, put a 4 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 91 days or more, put a 5 in cell C2.

OR

Another, maybe simpler, way of saying it is:

If date in B2 - date in A2 is 1 or less days, put a 1 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 2-7 days, put a 2 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 8-30 days, put a 3 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 31-90 days, put a 4 in cell C2.
If date in B2 - date in A2 is 91 days or more, put a 5 in cell C2.

Data Converted To Scientific Notation

Nov 3, 2008

I work for a company that exports data from a website into Excel.

So here's my problem:

The data is usually Part Numbers using numbers and letters. When a Part Number is, for example, 248E12 we have this reaccurring issue. Importing it into Excel automatically converts it to scientific notation (ie. 248E+12 or 2.48E+14 to be exact). "Format Cell" doesn't convert it back because it was auto-converted when "exported". I need a way of fixing this problem without going line by line and doing the math to convert it myself.

I don't have time for that. Some of my files have thousands of lines.

Referring To Range() Using Shortcut Notation

Sep 23, 2008

I have noticed in many of the Excel help files that the developers liked to use shortcut notation for Range reference in VBA.

For example, Range("A1:B10") would be [A1:B10].

I was doing a bit of testing with this, and was not able to make the shortcut notation work with a variable. Does the shortcut method have the capabilities to do the equivalent of Range("A1:B" & LR)?

If it does have that capability, is it just due to force of habit that we always use Range() to refer to ranges, or would there be a more in-depth reason.
