Possible to write code to hide selected sheets in an excel file depending on which user is using the file i.e. hiding sheets that are not applicable to that person while just showing the applicable sheets?
My head hurts from working on this all day. I have a large spreadsheet and in the top left corner I need to show the percent of vehicles that are not working out of our whole pool. I have a function that detects the color of the cell (Red is broke) and counts the total of red cells and then divides it by the total giving the percent and it is in G118 for Jan 1/2007, H118 for Jan 2/2007 etc. I made a function that will count Julian days from Jan 1, so for today I get 114. I know I need to display G + 114 columns but have no idea how to get that column name from this and always display the current one in the corner.
I have 3 'speedometer' type images one for green, one for amber and one for red. I need to display ONE of these on a number of occasions depending on the value of a cell.
E.g.
If the value is 8.0 or above then I want to display the green one
If the value is 4.0 or above but below 8.0 I want to display the amber one
If the value is less than 4.0 I want to display the red one
i have a macro which takes the results generated and puts them into a table and filters the data so that zeros does not show and arranges the table from largest to smallest. Now i have a problem where i need to select the power, fuel oil consumption, weight and area from one table and the other power, fuel oil consumption, weight and area from the other table and combine them together so that i can have all possible combinations of the data, but i don't want the zeros to show in the combinations. i need the combined data to show on a separate sheet. The data of table 1 varies with rows as shown:
The Data of Table 2 varies with rows as shown:
I would like to achieve a result like this in the following columns and rows without having to input them manually:
I have written a vba code which does some calculation on the data on sheet 1 and then puts this data on sheet3 and after the calculation is done it puts the result on a few comboboxes on sheet2. Now the issue is while this whole calculation is performed by excel, I can see the movement in between the sheets. I want to avoid seeing this movement ?
Is it because of multiple Sheet.Select statements inside the vba code ?
My Problem is I have a workbook with multiple sheets with a possibility of a number between 2 and 999 occurring. I am looking for a formula that can display a table on the "total" worksheet for every ID number that has been entered and the number of times the ID number is displayed.
If a user selects certain options from a drop down list created by cell verification (from list), is it possible to display an input box and have the resulting input populate on another worksheet in the workbook? I have an attendance template I'm working with and if a user selects OT (Over Time) then a input box is displayed prompting for how many hours. The overtime is then tracked on another worksheet.
In the data sheet I have in F1 "Germany", F2 "France", H1 "Belgium", H2 "Poland", H3 "Russia"
In each of the sheets (appart from data) I have a validation list in cell D6 listing the data sheet values F1,F2,H1,H2,H3.
Now basicaly what I need is when I select Germany from the list it would take me to Germany sheet, when I select Belgium from the list it would take me to Belgium sheet etc.
Basically the sheets have always same name as the name in the list. I know i can write the code in individually but because I have a lot of these I was hoping there might be an easier way?
I'm actually using a macro that saves all the sheets from a workbook in new separate files, and save them in a specified folder.
Code: Sub Estrazione_Schede() Dim n As Long Dim myNome As String Dim myPath As String myPath = "D:path"
[Code] ......
What I'm trying to do is that, instead of saving all the sheets in one folder, the macro would save them in different folders, depending on specific values in a specific cell of each sheet. I tried to modify the macro like this, but it doesn't seem to work properly:
Code: Dim n As Long Dim myNome As String Dim myPathOne As String Dim myPathTwo As String myPathOne = "D:pathOne"
[Code] .....
With this code the macro ends up to check the condition only in the first sheet and then it copies all the sheet in the same folder.
I’ve done a search of the forum for a macro and found some post that seems to be about what I want to do, but unfortunately my minimal vb experience prevents me from adapting them to my requirements.
I‘ve got a workbook with three sheets; say Sheet A, Sheet B and Sheet C. I want the info in Sheet C copied to either Sheet A or B depending on the info in cells in Column A of Sheet C.
Sheet C contains customer info, there are about 9 column headings and up to 30 000 rows (Individual customers).
The cells in Column A will contain a number between 0 - 23. What I want the macro to do is, if a cell in Column A contains any of these numbers, 0, 1, 2, 6,7,8,9,10,17,19,20,21,22,23, I want that whole row copied to Sheet A and if it contains 3,4,5,11,12,13,14,15,16,18, I want it copied to Sheet B. The cells will only contain one number, never a combination.
Let's say I've got nine entries of data. Column A is aligned like this:
One One One Two Two Two Three Three Three
What I would like to do is write a macro so that the three entries with "One" in Column A get cut and pasted into a newly-created sheet named "One." All of the Two's get cut and pasted into sheet "Two" and the same thing with the Three's.
I have an month input in cells B2 (user can enter values from 1-5)
I then have a data table that has month 1,2,3,4,5 running across range G9:K9. the data is held in range G10:K19.
So if user types in 4 in B2, what should happen is that months 1,2,3 and 4 the data for these months should be cleared and data in month 5 moves forward into month 1.
So basically, anything left of the month entered is B2 should be cleared and replaced with anything right of the month in B2.
Is there any way to "Inscribe" a cell? I would like to run a macro on Enter keypress, that would execute different code depending on that "inscription" that would be invisible to user. I could use some properties of . Validation property like this:
Private Sub EnterPressed 'following code to ensure proper functioning of Enter in any other Worksheet If ActiveSheet <> mySheet 'MySheet is global Variable then ActiveCell.Offset(1,0).Select exit Sub End If 'now the real code If ActiveCell.Validation.InputMessage = "1" Then ActiveCell.Offset(0,1).Select Else 'something else End If End Sub
The problem is, I use Data Validation and Conditional Formatting, so can't use any of these properties.
I developed some pivot table reports and macro'd out pdf'ing them for the users but now management want the users to be able to manipulate the data themselves !! The file is 31 sheets and I'm figuring they'll only want to see the sheets that are relevant to them so is there a way to macro it out?? Perhaps when the file opens it asks, "Who do you want to see?" Jack? Joe? or Rudy?, Month or YTD, or Both? or Everything? and it will hide the sheets that are not selected. The words "month" and "YTD" is in Cell "N1" and the individuals names are in Cell "M1".
how you would write a macro to move a selection of sheets to a workbook called Digi's in the D drive. Also if there isn't a Workbook called Digi's already it needs to add one. I've found some code to loop through sheets but nothing to show what sheets the user has selected
I see this forum and the example works perfectly in Excel 2003.. But we are using Excel 2007 now and it doesn't appear to be recognizing the user and is always refering to the "else" in the vb codes. Does this code for not work in 2007? Oh and I am refering to Post #10 on there with the attachment that will hide different sheets depending on which user is getting on the file.
I have the below VBA code associated with a sheet called "Select View". When the workbook opens there is another code that displays only "Select View", all the other sheets are hidden. In "Select View" there is a data validation list. Based on the selection the user gets to see only certain sheets. For example, if the user selects "Region 1" they see only the sheets "Region 1", "Panama City" and "Pensacola".
As you can see some of the names in the "Target.Value" are the same as sheets in an array. The ones that do are lead schedules, that is information from other sheets in an array roll into it. That is values from "Pensacola" and "Panama City" flow into "Region 1", the lead sheet.
What I am trying to do is finish the code where based on the "Target.Value" selected it automatically takes the user to the lead sheet. For example, when the user selects "Region 1" in the data validation it takes the user directly to the sheet "Region 1". The user of course can also see the other sheets in the array, that is "Pensacola" and "Panama City" and can manually select the tab to view or go into one of the later
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) Dim sh As Worksheet If Not Application.Intersect(Range("B10"), Target) Is Nothing Then For Each sh In Sheets(Array("Panama City", "Pensacola", "Region 1")) sh.Visible = Target.Value = "Region 1" Next sh
I need to save the data of For Eg. A form in Sheet 1, B form in Sheet 2, C form data entry in sheet 3.
what is happening now is that, all the entries are going in the Active Sheet that is open in the excel file. I want to automate the process of data entry, by making it enter data from specific form in specific sheet.
In a macro I want to automatically insert a formula in several cells. The formula depends on other cells, and I want to be able to manipulate these cells with variables. Here is my code:
[Code] .....
All my variables are declared:
Sheets("DATOS YTD 2014").Cells(I, Semana + 1) is the cell I want to be able to chose due to the variables Sheets("DATOS YTD 2014").Cells(I, 3) is the reference cell for the VLOOKUP formula, that will vary with I SheetMonth.Range("B3:W172") is a range in the sheet SheetMonth which is fixed
The error message I receive is the following: "Run-time error 13, Type mismatch"
I precise that the next step is to make the ",6," part in the vlookup formula also variable... but I guess once my current issue is solved this one will be a piece of cake.
What i want to do is copy all records from whatever date i enter, onto sheet test. The full excel file has over 80 worksheets for each individual rep, the example i attached has 8 sheets..
I have a workbook with say 20 sheets. Users enter all information via sheet1. All other sheets in workbook are populated with information from sheet1. The workbook is a template, so "save as" is used obviously. The example is this..
In one instance, user may require sheets 1,2,4,6,8,11,15 to be saved as new workbook, depending on what sheets they require. In another instance, user may require sheets 1,5,9,18,19,20 to be saved as new workbook, again depending on the sheets they need. Sheet 1 is to be saved with all new workbooks, so when user opens the new workbook some time in the future, they can edit data via sheet 1.
I'm trying to stear clear of the move/copy sheet way and make it as simple as possible, so even a hamster could do it (with training of course), i.e. click a button and a menu where you select what sheets you want to save, etc.
I have an excel file with multiple sheets. I want my HR team to update that file, but one user shouldnt see the entries of other users. I want to make a consolidated file out of three files. This excel template is for salary input.
I have a user form that has a combo box "City" two text boxes one called "Flight" and the other "Date". What I'm trying to do is to prevent the user from saving the data input from the user form if any of those three fields is left blank. The code that I have so far checks all of the required fields, if any are left blank a message notifys which field(s) is left blank and return the focus back to that field. But the rest of code also fires.
What I really need is either to stop the code if any fields are blank and return the focus back to the blank field, the user completes the field(s) and clicks the save again, or better yet, pause the code until all the required fields are completed and then complete the save. (There is actually another 200+ lines of code in this sub, but I deleted it to keep the post a little shorter.)
